OPM4.171019.015.A1 updated on Factory Images - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

8.1.0 (OPM4.171019.015.A1, Apr 2018, Telus and Koodo Only
This image appeared this morning online. I was stuck with this image from TELUS/KOODO because it was stuck on April 1st update and in my research, it seems it didn't contain any of the hotfixes for the Pixel phone. Those hotfixes are in the April 5th security update per the bulletin boards..
Now, does anyone have more information because I contacted Telus and I had no answers from them, they just told me they using April 1st only because April 5th was too "customized".
Secondly, if I'm using OPM2.171019.029, will I still receive TELUS OTA? Should I sideload/flash the image. I had to use OPM2 to fix this with Reference A-67593274 (The issue where 4 cores stays at full power and droids the battery).
Hopes we can more about it here. I was able to successfully revert back to march 2018 and update to OPM2 when I was on OPM4 though!

The newly issued April version is made for TELUS/KOODO customers. The first April image Google issued is for all other carriers.
Probably radio changes made in the TELUS/KOODO version and it might not even work outside Canada. Probably the other specs
are the same.

Yeah but I wish to know if it includes the hotfixes for the special koodo/Telus image
Currently OPM2 works flawlessly on Telus. I even got VoLTE working properly

[Sprint] Nov patch update 1.80.651.30

Just mentioning that today I received an update. I am on Sprint so this isn't Nougat. Checking around the settings/about I see that it is the Nov 1 Android security patch level. I didn't note the kernel version and what not from before, but if it helps anyone I could copy that all down.
I just received mine, too. I'm also on Sprint. It appears to simply be a security update.

Note5 N920AUCS3CPJ1 Update Help

My wife has an unlocked N920A note 5 that she uses with Ting. While investigating some unrelated battery issues she was suffering from (a game she played was consuming battery in the background) I noticed her last security patch was listed as Oct 2016. The software update button says she's at the most current, but she doesn't have an AT&T sim in the phone so I don't know if that's actually checking. I tried updating via Samsung's smart connect but that claims her phone is up to date as well. Oct 2016 seems rather old for security patches though; sadly I'm largely in the dark when it comes to flashes/modding phones. I've seen the threads here describing update steps, but the baseband version is listed N920AUCS3CPJ1 which seems to be an even earlier baseband version than any update guide I've found starts with. Is there anyway she can update her phone further, officially or otherwise? Would an AT&T sim possibly help, or is Oct 2016 actually the last security update the N920As received?

I have the same problem, but the last update on mine is Aug 1, 2017! I just found this site from ATT and the latest update is July 2, 2018?!!
I reinstall smart switch twice but still says I have the latest update?.
Google ( Software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (N920A) ) and click the first link from att and you will what's the latest update.
You would be the first person around here to have seen a device with an intact PJ1 Bootloader though. Old Post, but do you still have it? All the downloadable versions I ever heard of came with a corupted BL so it won't flash.
Is it possible to upgrade to nougat with a N920AUCS3CPJ1 device running marshmallow?

[SM-T830][ODIN] Stock firmware collection for Galaxy Tab S4 Wi-Fi

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for anything that you decide to do with these stock firmware images and I will not be held liable if it breaks your device. Use at your own risk. Mirroring these images is encouraged.
Since this is stock firmware, it should not trip KNOX, but if it does, I will not be held responsible.
With all that out of the way...
This is for the Galaxy Tab S4, Wi-Fi only model (SM-T830). I'm posting this so that others don't have to deal with the "pay to access" or "limited speed" firmware download sites. If any new firmware updates come out, I'll post them if I have the time to do so. You will need ODIN v3.13.1 or later to flash this.

Hi there, I'm really struggling to get the Tab S4 into download mode - any suggestions? Power button and volume down doesn't seem to work.

I can't remember exactly but I want to say you have to hold down volume up and down, and power. Pretty much all 3 buttons on the device.
I am curious about somehting - forgive me if this is a dumb quesiton - but the US Varient is for XAR Region - is there any difference between XAR and the other Varients BTU - or XEU (United Kingdom) ?
I guess I am asking is it ok to flash one of those on the XAR Varient? the other varients (BTU, XEF, etc) have later build dates and different change logs but I wasn't sure if they were different in other ways - Can we flash other varients on the US Version or do we need to stick with XAR ?

Thanks for your reply that combo didn't work - but what did work was making sure tab was off, then hold down volume up and volume down buttons together and then plug in USB cable - and then it goes straight into download mode.
Cheers

Does any one have flashed this and confirmed the XEF one is on August security patch? since reviewing on Samfirmware there are a lot of ARH5 builds but all of them have June Patch
ARH5 is def. June patch. Loaded the BTU version onto mine today (since UK gets earliest updates) and still June. I very much doubt that ARH1 is on July patch and I am positive all ARH5 builds are on the June patch. A higher build number in the same series indicates a higher patch level not lower so it would be really strange if ARH1 is July and ARH5 is June. (unless Samsung has totally lost their s**t with version control). As long as the PDA is the same it should all be the same base code and Android security patch regardless of CSC. AFAIK the CSC only governs the localized software and some features like which wifi channels are enabled to be in compliance with local regulations. Hopefully they release the BTU Aug/Sept patch soon.

Don't count on it. Samsung don't release monthly firmware updates for their tablets.

ARH1 is definitely July. That's what I put on my S4. Wasn't sure about ARH5 because I didn't flash that one to my S4. Honestly I'm just waiting for someone to port TWRP so that I can install an AOSP GSI.

My S4 (PHN CSC) came with ARH1 and this was the June security update. After an OTA update, it's now running ARH5, which is still the June update.

Really odd. My XSG CSC Tab S4 (originally was XAR) is on July with ARH1. It's like Samsung is releasing different builds with different security patch levels and the same build number, making this really confusing.
Mine did an update last night. Only had it a couple of days but it's on ARH8 now
Could someone be so kind as to upload just the build.prop file? I changed some stuff in mine and stupidly forgot to back it up. I checked the files in the zips of the OP post and couldn't find it anywhere. If I stupidly overlooked it just let me know. Thanks!
Nevermind, found what I was looking for.

You can go straight to bootloader with Power + Volume Up + Volume Down. It sounds impossible, but it's not, because the volume button isn't a rocker.

Have you rooted this build. The OEM unlock has disappeared for me. I tried to revert to the older build but odins keeps giving me an FAIL (Auth)
Hi,
I am having a T835, but the question remains. I am fairly expierenced with odin-flashing S8+, Note 8, S9+. I know, that as long as you stay in the same multi-CSC (OXM in my case as DBT), one can simply flash firmwares within the same multi-CSC.
Regarding to https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab-s4/SM-T835/, there is a newer INS Firmware. But it seems to be a different multi-CSC (ODM?) with the tablets, different to the phones. Is that assumption true? If this is the case, I also assume, that I should not flash it, in case I want to stay on OXM. All correct?
Thanks a lot,
Corwin
I have not rooted anything in a long time since there is barely any reason to and the only issue I have ever had with different countries' CSCs on my Tab S2/S3/S4 is some wifi 5 Ghz bands not working because they are restricted by country. The latest Argentina/Peru one I linked to above does not have that issue and is good to go.

Any updates yet? Still on March Security patch

As anyone received an update to May's security patch? Even Samsung devices are more up to date, I thought by getting a Pixel this would be guaranteed... It seems there are issues with updates for this phone, I mean, pulling this device from the beta program, for the Android Q and no updates so far, strange...
Would like to see if anyone knows what could be causing this delay.
Yes we all know. June you'll get everything. Probably on the 3rd. It's been announced over and over. Google search for Pixel 3a security update shows this:
https://9to5google.com/2019/05/10/pixel-3a-security-patch-old/
You could have done that yourself in less time it took to post this.
Without waiting until June when they issue patches for this device, the only way to update your security level at this time is by manually flashing the Q beta from the full factory images (you can only do this if your device is bootloader-unlocked).
Otherwise, as the other user stated, updates will start in June, including Q beta OTA enrollment.

Camera HyperLapse mode has gone

Hi! I realized that the HyperLapse mode has gone from my S9 months ago. I deleted cache and data, entered on the different camera modes and all but HyperLapse mode isn't available. I used it in march or april, but since that day, I didn't found it again.
Anyone knows how to restore or recover that mode?
EDIT: I talked with Samsung and now the "Hyperlapse" mode is named (in Spain at least) "Fast Camera".
It's still available for me (september update, exynos, The Netherlands) on which update are you?

i didnt get my S9 until may and it had it on there. I then flashed the U1 firmware on it in august and it still has it. I check every monday for updates and the last one was 3 weeks ago. Still have it now
Had my S9 since the end of January. I can't say if hyperlapse has been there in all that time - I don't use the extra modes - but I have it at the moment. AT&T S9 with the recently updated Oct 1 patch.
I've talked with Samsung and now the "Hyperlapse" mode is named (in Spain at least) "Fast Camera".
Its still there.
In Indian version, its still there!
