Dolby - ZTE Blade V8 Pro Questions & Answers

a little interested in this phone for someone else it seems balanced at everything(battery, performance, charging speed, display, camera, price etc.) except for no root, updates which may not be important for the person I'm giving it to and the speakers I've heard all reviews talk about. does it come with Dolby for increasing volume? since viper isn't an option atm
also is everyone ordering directly from zteusa site?

Yes. Dolbi increase the volume while using headphones. There is no auto on after connecting headphones. You have to turn it on

Speakers are not very loud...

Is it just me or are the new speakers much softer than the previous N7? It does sound much better with the Stereo setup instead of Mono, but the volume just seems low even at max volume. Maybe its just me...
The new Nexus 7 speakers are much louder for me than the old ones.
Speakers have plenty of volume...

I am also in the same boat. Low Sound and I was wondering a way to check it.
Also, i tried listening to it by placing my ears on the speakers and I am not able to hear anything from the top speakers at all. The down seem to work fine.
So can you check and let me know which speakers are affected and also what are you software version or and using any custom rom?
I am on stock, Unrooted, locked and nothing changed from me till yet.
Mine is also not loud and I hear sound form both speakers . I just tested it against my phones and........galaxy s3, galaxy s2, galaxy note 2 are louder by alot.
Make sure you guys are testing with the right things, for example with music or podcasts mine are very loud and its great but Youtube can be sporadic because not every video is made well and the sound doesnt get through. If you are watching a professional channel then they should be great but some people dont do too well with the sound on youtube. Also netflix for me is very loud and clear and overall everything is much better than my original N7

my speakers work fine and loud. But i read somewhere that due to the angle of the speakers (almost rear facing), some people have complained about weak speakers.
I have sound mod increase by 50 percent for my gs3. Wonder if it would work with the nexus 7. Prolly not as 4.3 might have different files.

Audio Quality Through Headphones

What is the audio quality like through the headphone jack?
A good pair of headphones & Flac with both built in music player & Poweramp?
Is it as good as both the S5 & the M8 or is it better?
Ta
I think the quality is good. However some handsets have a problem with internal noise, i also had this issue but it kinda fixed itself after the first few days.

What do you mean by internal noise? Buzzing from headphone jack?

i use poweramp and Westone UM3x in-ears or Beyer Dynamic Custom Pro, and for sure no worse than S4 and M7 which i pre-owned, and similar to directly from my Macbook Pro, too. so i personally am very pleased with the sound...:good: and no hissing or other issues here ...

Yeah something like that. But i just read people having this issue made it go away by changing from dalvik to ART in settings. When i think about it (i also changed to ART) that was when my issue also was gone. So yeah apparently a software issue.

Do you use stock or a 3rd party music player?
GSM arena ran a bunch of tests and basically found that the G3 has the highest output quality of any Android device, up against the S5, M8, Find7, and Z2. It's not the loudest, but there will be mods for that.

I changed from dalvik to art. But the noise remains in the left ear plug after reboot (checked and art is still selected). Any ideas?

Crap! I just tested again and now i also have a silent buzz when i play music. This is really not right. Also i have this beep-beep sound the moment i plug in my headphones.
Is this buzzing present when playing through Bluetooth headphones?

I can tell you that it's the best mobile I've heard. I play Spotify @320 through Shure SE846's and sure it's not the absolute top notch but it's REALLY good. Like, I don't feel the need for an external Amp/DAC.

with poweramp and withour direct volume control, without any egalzer..nothing, the sound is simply amazing.
The M8, G3, Note 3, and S5 all had pretty good sound quality with headphones imo. I really couldn't say which is the best. They all sounded pretty good and comparable to each other. I still use my ear buds from the HTC Rezound. I don't care what anyone says but those were some good headphones for a free pair.

Maybe it's just me but I find the volume to be on the low side (using Google Play Music All Access) and the sound doesn't sound warm like it did on my SGS3

Check out the mod in the developer section. You can make it plenty loud very easily (with root).

That would be EXACTLY why you can't tell any of them apart, LOL. It's like saying Blu-Ray and DVD look the exact same when you're watching them on your 13" CRT TV.
And no... the stock buds that come with a phone aren't good. They're terrible. Quite literally the only good things you can say is that they put sound in your ear and it's possible to buy worse ones at a 7/11.
Stock earphones from the HTC M7 and M8 are great for free headphones quite loud and good sound.
I have a pair of JVC extreme in earphones that I bought for £15 quid and they are loud, also have a pair of Dre Beat's Solo's and they sound good.
I'd say the stock volume for the rear facing speaker is very loud for a back firing speaker I was quite shocked at just how loud it was.
Headphone volume was on the low side though.
I used a guide in the dev thread to boost the auido volume of both speaker and headset and then used Viper4Android and WOW oh WOW.
Best sound I've had out of a phone.
I've owned alot aswell. Coming from the Nexus 5 the sound of the G3 blows it away.
I would 100% suggest rooting. Increasing the values as per the guide and getting Viper4Android installed

[Q] How's the audio quality through headphones?

I was just wondering what everyone thinks of the audio quality through headphones in terms of quality and loudness. If we had root, this wouldn't be an issue because with a few mods I could have it up to whatever I like it to be. But since there currently isn't root, how does it sound on stock? Also, is there a volume warning and does it go away until the next reboot?

i like the audio quality with headphones. i use sennheiser hd pro 280's and the sound is very good coming from my note 4. i also use poweramp's gain to turn up the decibels if i want louder volume. there is also a loud volume warning that you have to confirm and yes it does come back when you reboot the phone.

Awesome! I'm generally satisfied with the sound quality that comes out of Samsung devices, so I'm sure I'll be happy (I ordered my Note 4 today). The volume warning is expected although I'm not a fan of it. At least it doesn't appear every time you plug in headphones like it does on the LG G3.
Coming from a note 3, I noticed a positive different in audio quality through my headphones. I wasn't expecting it.

No dual front stereo speakers. So close to perfection...

I don't listen to media on my phone speakers, I either use earbuds or stream over bluetooth. I never understood people who like blasting music on their phone.

Just in the shower. That's where I need it loud.
Couldn't you just put it face down & play music?

Personally I think the speaker sounds great with good depth and bass as long as it is in the Quadbeat preset and screen down.

Not at all in the stock music app. I only use the stock app for loud speaker music like in the shower. For everything else I use Poweramp.

The speaker isn't too bad if I'm honest! It's got nothing on the M9 though, and also doesn't really have "bass" lol
I think it's funny when people listen to music on their phone too!

Low sound through headphones.

Hi everyone!
When I bought this phone I was surprised by loud and high quality sound through headphones even on 50 points of the volume. But several weeks ago I noticed that the sound became quieter and I have to raise the volume to 65-70. I think that it relates to some updates. Can someone help me with fixing this issue?

Nawl I've tryed everything the sound won't get louder on my V20 I could never turn my volume all the way up I'm call tmoble and see what they come up with
Today I simply bought Marshall Mode EQ headphones and now I can listen to music using only 50 points of volume again. I think that LG G8 requires higher sensitivity and impedance than stock headphones from it's box have.
Also I think that LG made some changes in last update in this case. Cause first days I used this phone the sound was pretty loud. Maybe this trouble caused by LG's hearing damage protection.
