Adaptive theme change Android 8.1 [TA1043] - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

So just recently got the 6.1, been great so far. Just have a question regarding the auto theme change when changing wallpaper.
When changing to a dark wallpaper changes to dark theme overall, however it's showing the sea-green color in brightness slider and volume sliders while showing the blue in app drawer in dark theme. It does show blue overall when it's in light theme state.
Just want to confirm if anyone else has it the same way. If you could post the screenshot with the version number, would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Same here, screenshot with version number of what?

I just meant screenshot showing blue in app drawer and sea green in notification drawer.
By version I meant model number of your 6.1.

Oh, I use Nova Launcher, so the difference is only visible on the brightness slider when the "theme" is dark or white. I like blue color more. For the volume bar I use "Volume slider" app and it change it to Android P style.
My device number is TA-1043

So on your end, when a dark theme's applied, it never shows blue in the brightness slider, right?

Thanks seems like a bug as it does show only blue in light mode. Post a screenshot as well if you can for both light and dark drawer themes.
Also in chrome, it shows white status bar instead of showing he color of the website on status bar.

About the white status bar, I think it was changed by Google in latest Chrome.

Not for chrome but I believe it happened after the 8.1 update, even though it looks good generally but not when a website changes top bar to a color and it still shows white.
Also aware of any way to get blue accent in status bar in dark theme as well, certainly seems like a bug, right?

Probably it is after 8.1, I searched a bit, but I didn't find any information about it.
According this (or any other screenshot for this feature):
https://www.androidpolice.com/2017/...ight-dark-themes-no-longer-exclusive-pixel-2/
it should be blue, so it is probably bug, but if Nokia did it or it is in Android One code...
I don't think it is possible to change it in "normal easy" way, but you can use Substratum + Andromeda + nice dark theme, e.g. I have "aospUI Dark theme", but is not activated.

True, I know it's supposed to be blue as I searched before as well, that's why I posted on here to know if I'm facing some sorta glitch or it's a general thing everyone has on their 6.1.

Notification LED

Was wondering if I could change the colors of the notification LED for certain apps, and what colors are available?
No.
Green for notification and red for battery stuff.

I see in your sig that you have had a few blackberries…. hence the question about LED's?
I tried the multi change apps on my 9900 but they got to confusing to remember what colour meant what lol

Opaque notification drawer?

With some ROMs, the notification drawer is transparent or semi-transparent, but I find it much easier to read when it's solid black. I've found tons of apps & posts about how to make it transparent, but not non-transparent. Any thoughts?

Some ROM's let you set any image as the background of the notification and quick settings menus. If so, just pick a color you like, make a JPG of that color, and use it. however most ROM's that let you do that also give you the option of selecting a solid color.

Thanks. Any thoughts if the ROM doesn't have that feature?
Download xblast module or wanam lers you chanfe everything from clock color/size/position and all colors in system ui
??
I'm assuming you don't know about the xposed app? Download xposed off of xda. There is a whole forum and then download the module gravitybox and you can change the color of it. And you don't have to change your rom. It's really simple.

[Q] Is Fade and Gradient broken?

Can someone explain to me how Fade and Gradient fill styles are meant to work please? As far as I can see, neither produces results I would expect.
For example, open up the advanced parameters on a progress bar and specify the "fill mode other color" as, say, white. Then try changing the colour under the fill mode or the foreground colour - no change to the widget colour.
With Gradient fill, all I want to do is go from opaque white to transparent white but Zooper decides to get there it needs to go through yellow!
I'm either not understanding how the UI is meant to work here or these options are really busted. Anyone able to offer any help?
Example of the gradient problem is attached.

Yeah damn things been like this for a while. Shows some yellowish color for me usually. Mess with the foreground/background colors and it'll work right. Just have to F with it.
HSV gradient instead of a RGB gradient ?
I have the same issue and then googled a little. After reading these two pages "perbang.dk/rgbgradient" and "bensouthgate.com/p/12_3_13.php" (I can not post link now), I think the gradient is based on HSV and not RGB; the later seems however be more intuitive and correspond to what I imagine for a gradient from white to another color.
I don't think we can code a RGB gradient from the Advanced Parameter because some functions are currently missing.
If anyone has an idea...

If you want to change to a different wallpaper, which for some reason changes it to white, you can use this app (requires Android 8.1) :

How to change default navbar color to black?

In the settings, by default, there are only light colors for the navbar, which don't fit quite well dark apps like Spotify and Reddit.
Is there a way to set it black?
I already tried:
- LG themes and high contrast mode: they work, but also change the whole UI look.
- Nacho Notch, Navbar Apps and other applications on PlayStore: they don't change only the default color, but the color used everywhere (e.g.: Nacho Notch sets the navbar to be always black, even when it should be transparent, like in the launcher).
- Alpha Substratum theme: it doesn't affect default navbar color (or, at least, I wasn't able to let it do it).
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks.
I don't see it either. Apart from another launcher, I think your only option is going to be a dark theme.

Use nacho notch or navbar apps.
Or double tap the left hand dot to hide the Nav Bar in those apps you don't like the look??
I just use System UI Tuner. A few ADB commands for permission for the app to run and all is good. Find it in the Play Store. Instructions are supper easy to follow and you can hide either the nav bar status bar or go full immersive and hide both even on the home screen like I do.

Alpha most certainly has this option. That was one of the first things I did when I added G7 support! You do have to go and manually select black but the option is definitely there
Thanks!

I finally found out how to do it! I needed to "force" the black navigation bar selection in the settings after having built "System UI".
I also quickly followed a fellow XDA members advice on how to enable High Contrast to phone in the settings and makes the phone dark as can be. It solved my Setting Theme to all black and Navigation bar to black as well. Just had to change the wallpaper back but works well.
