Notification led - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

Does the Nokia 6 2018 (European version) have a notification led ?
Thanks

No, it doesn't. But you can try using some Camera flash Notification apps in Playstore.

Yeah, I'm a bit sad because of that, I like notification LEDs.
It has the "ambient display" feature, but I don't like it much.

Thanks for your answers!

is there apk to notify by screen wake or any other option?

I have Light Flow, it has also the screen wake feature, but I don't think it can wake the screen after some time, only when the notification comes. But I use the sound repeat feature, so when I have a missed call it beeps every 2mins.

LED notification

Hey guys,
I just wanted to check if Moto Z play has LED notification. I just read somewhere that this device does not have one. But wanted to confirm.
If this is true, I have to look for another device.
Thanks
No doesn't have notification light more a on screen notification , like if a gumtree message comes through and the screen is off It shows a tree in a dim white at the bottom

Moto hasnt had led notification since they had moto display.

It actually has a hidden LED as every moto device. On CyanogenMod I've already repurposed it as notification LED.

If it's like the Droid Turbo it has a "charging LED" that can be used with root
If u root there's a app that can make the front flash work as a notification

I use this in my moto x style
Thank you guys for sharing the information
I saw the LED on our Moto Z play, when you connect the turbocharger with the phone turned off, you can clearly see a white led (not the flash) blinking briefly in the zone of the proximity sensors.
Yeah there is something between the front camera and speaker, maybe someone can configure it for notification
I used led control app to make it work. It is only white. And it didn't make it work for notifications. Only when charging, or usb, or using internal, or external memory.

Tasker is capable of using this LED and you can set it up to function as a notification light. I do it with my Droid Turbo.

This may or may not work on the Z Play. You will need root.
BACKUP FIRST JUST IN CASE!
I have it setup to only turn on if the screen is off.
Task 1 (LED on): if %SCREEN ~ Off
Set light - set charging to 1
End if
Task 2 (LED off): set light - set charging to 0
For profiles do this for each app you want to have set off the LED if you don't want it going off for every notification. Otherwise don't choose an application and it'll go off for any notification:
event > UI > notification. Choose an application (optional) then have this profile perform Task 1.
To turn off the LED I have it go off when I turn the screen on.
Event > display > display on and have this perform Task 2.
I'm sure this can be improved but this is how I have it set up right now.

Notification LED Light and Sound Problem

Even with using Light Flow, it looks like the notification LED light doesn't work while you're in a call. So if I'm on speaker phone and get a notification, the light does not display. First world problem I know, but this would be nice if it would work. Can anyone else confirm the same and that it's not just me?
Notification sounds get played through the bottom speaker when on a call rather than only coming through the phone ear piece, resulting in the recipient caller hearing the sound. Thoughts?
I didn't realize there was a led... I just downloaded light flow, and when I test a color, the screen just wakes up in ambient mode, but no led

Notification LED customization app? LightFlow not working

Hi all~
Just got my 5T yesterday, but it seems that LightFlow is not working properly to control the notification LED.
Anyone figure out how to set it up to work or is there any other good alternative to customize the notification LED?

It's still very similar to what I got from my OnePlus 3, not so customizable.
I prefer per app notification LED customization.
The in-built LED control is absolutely inferior compared with what you can achieve with an app like LightFlow, which allows you to customize the LED color and blinking pattern on an per-app basis. It is even possible to have the LED circle through different colors if there are multiple notifications.
@J12894 Can you describe what exactly does not work on our 5T?

The LED just wont work according to my setting. It will simply "eat" the notification, and don't show any LED.
The notification will show up and then disappear. And I am sure it is "eaten" by LightFlow as if I disable it, there is no such issue.
When I tried "All enabled LEDs Test", with some setting, it will either not show any LED or just show the blue color.
I'm using Light Manager Pro and it seems to be working correctly.
+1 for Light Manager
Im having no problems with light flow. I am using legacy mode, though
I want to use lightmanager too but when I test the notification it show "You must unlock screen to allow led notification" but my screen is unlock because I'm set light manager.
What is wrong.

Hit ok, then press the power button. It should take like two or three seconds for the color to show up in the notification LED. It's just to test what you set up.
Then unlock your screen again and set up the next one.
Thanks
I got BlinkerLED working without any problems.

I am using Light Manager, but I am unable to adjust the blinking speed. So it's always the same, no matter what I select.
Not that it's a huge issue, but would like to know if that's adjustable.

Speed cant be controlled on OnePlus devices as you can do it on Note 8 or S8, I dunno why its so weird though!

[APP] NotifyBuddy - Notification light when screen is off

Just download it on the Playstore NotifyBuddy. The app developer XanderApps made an amazing simple app to bring back a simple and beautiful notification light when the screen is off. Easy to configure, allow all the permissions, pick the apps you want it to show the light for, choose a color, and that's it. You can tinker with the settings for the duration of the blink, how long it takes to blink again, and how long it blinks for, which is a big one for me because other apps do not let it go for very long from what I've seen. The developer also said that there is screen in burn protection built-in! The only thing is AOD settings get disabled when there is a notification as well as screen-off fingerprint unlock and a double tap of the screen is needed to wake the phone up, or alternatively press the power button.
No notification light is an issue I had found with the note 10 + coming from the Note 8 and this is resolved for the most part
Lemmi know what you guys think about it !
Does it work with AoD?

Did you guys read what OP wrote?
And from yesterday (or i have not noticed it earlier) when the display goes dark, it shows a message that no pictures are selected (however i have no picture-style aod choosen)
Only works if i press the power button on my s10+ any ideas why?

Haven't logged in in awhile but it can be used with or without edge lighting. I just tested with a 15 second delay (found in the notify buddy settings) and it works.
Have a nice day !
I like the idea of it but I don't like that it doesn't work as well there like when I plug in the charger it doesn't allow the display to turn off until I manually do it
Hmmm, I just tried on my Note10 plus. Plugged in charger, screen timed out at the 30 seconds I have it set to time out, charging led was present.
Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Fingerprint unlock doesn't seem to work unless you tap the screen to wake and then fingerprint unlock. Also the position seems to change slightly every time the notification blinks. I was putting it around the camera hole and the first blink is perfect around the camera but then the others are off to either side with each blink. Once these are fixed and I make sure there's no battery drain, I would probably buy the premium version.

How notifications work without LED?

Hi
I'm currently with a phone that has an LED notification light which is pretty convenient for me because I'm the type of persons who usually check his phone only when there's a message. Nowadays, I knew that this convenient notification LED have been discontinued
If I buy a future One Plus phone, How can I tell if I get e.g. a whatsapp message without constantly checking my phone from time to time?
P.S. I'm also not interested to have an that thing called "on screen display" that is running 24/7 just for an average 2-3 messages I recieve / day. I'm aware of software notification LED in the app store but I'm not really into software solutions because they tend to eat battery life pretty much the same way as on screen display.
I also don't really understand what's the deal about eliminating it?! if they can't find a space for it on the edges - because edges became so small nowadays - they can simply merge it somehow with the punch out lens for the front camera! or make a built-in software solution that popus out the notification on the screen ONLY when I get a message.

First I thought that same but I think ambient display replaced the notification led. If you lift it up or just tap (not double tap) on the screen, you will see your notifications. I don't like always on display too.

So do I have to tap everytime I'm suspecting a message?! That's not convenient at all and I really hope that all manufacturers return back that LED notification light. It was a stupid decision to make really

No, if you get a message your phone will turn the ambient display on too, to show you the notification. But after a few seconds it will turn the screen off again.

That's still not convenient because I may not be present beside my phone to see the notification when it's triggered. The notification LED is blinking in a nicer continuous way to tell me that there's something i need to check. I still insist that ditching it was a very silly decision towards inconvenience

It's not good as the app needs to be running all the time even in the background to deliver notifications. I read so many negative reviews about such apps. Nothing is convenient like the LED notification

The whole point of the discussion is return of the notification LED which doesn't need constant unlocking for the phone to see if there's anything new, nor does it need an always on screen display

Give NoLED a try.

I find the lack of LED very annoying.
yes, you can tap the screen, or lift it up to check, but I find it very common that a notification icon is NOT present, but if I unlock, and scroll down, I will see a new email/text/etc.

AOD, if well done, does not drain any more battery than a notification LED. When you get a notification, it will only lit up a few pixels on the screen, in any shape you want. You can literally simulate a LED with AOD. Personally I use the app "always on edge", I set it up to show the name of the contact and the messaging app when I receive a text, super useful, way better than just a LED. I didn't notice any more drain in battery life, I can still very easily last a whole day of heavy use.

EDIT: I can't get AOE to show up on my OP7T when the screen is off? Am I missing something obvious? I gave it all of the permissions I saw it asking for... but still no visual way to tell I had a notification without touching the phone.
