Nokia 6 Headphone jack - possible problem? - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

Hi there. Today I tried for the first time some headphones with my nokia 6 (2018), and the connector is not straight with the chassis. Is this normal? Can someone confirm, please with your device? Thanks in advance.

Hi. thanks for the reply, so your's it's the same? Yeh, mine works fine too. I guess it's a design choice. Thanks again!

Mine seems to be the same. My phone also seems to give off a horrible buzzing noise when plugging into my car aux, so I am curious if my headphone jack is defective or if they really decided to not shield the aux cable signal.

Yeah I checked another unit today and they are all like this. I use Bluetooth in the car so I don't know. But tomorrow I will test that and let you know.

Also, the jack seems to be a little "mushy" and easy to remove... there's not real "click" when you plug your headphone... Did someone note that ?

It's definitely not mushy, and I feel a click when putting headphones into my phone. It does stick a bit out like on your pic though.

I think its to do with the way how the phone curves and so the headphone jack bonds with the body of the phone and not with the screen panel also i find that with my old head phones that have some of the copper worn off the end it tends to slowly wiggle it self out while with my more newer pair that has the copper coating present it works with a click still
I do however have a problem with the earphones that they give you im not sure if its to do with the update on the 02/08/18 but it cuts out and ill then have to unplug and plug the headphones back and it tends to make a really loud click i think its with the earphones and not the device its self.

it could be your speaker as well. that is what happened to mine
but it could be your jack. from memory, put in the adaptor and pull it out fast a few times to see if it is the adaptor.
i opened ma mobile and see the jack .. but which contacts should contact each other so i hera speaker?

Sorry man, you have to open your device like what i did me to. it tooked for me 2 minutes to fix that problem
But be carefull.
if don't know how to open your device, i advice you to not to do it.
ask an experienced hands to heal your Prophet
after opening your device, look at the jack, you will see it covered, its actually covered by a lil plastic cover that you can pop off with a small screw driver. the jack will be like this

when you unplug the earphones, the metal parts shown in the red circle on the photo must be connected.
when you put in the earphones the metal parts must be disconnected.

Good luck to all of you.

Cup holder car mount?

Hey guys,
basically what I would love to find is something to place into my car cupholder that would hold my phone while allowing both the usb power / and 3.5mm audio jack to be plugged in. I don't need a mount as such, anyway to hold it whilst allowing the cables to be plugged in would suffice.
I love to using the audio jack straight into the stereo, it works wonderfully as a makeshift handsfree. Please let me know of any ideas or possible modifications I could make to existing products to make this work. T
Thanks!!!
Would this work? It says you can connect cords through the base.
$6.95
It doesn't show as much of the screen as I would like but it does look like a very good option....I'd give a shot, one problem is no postage to Thailand.
Thanks though

I thought about that one too, but he said he didn't want a mount.

Well a mount might work, if it was cheaper. This one is for iPhone so I'd be worried about it fitting. It's not a universal type mount is it?

Does the micro usb rotate 180°? I have a couple of devices and want to know if they all could sit in the dock and not be facing backwards

Third party headphones issues

Hi, has any of you tried using different headphones than the one supplied by LG? I've recently bought a brand new AKG headphones and after a couple weeks it looked like the connection got lost. At first I thought it was a problem with the headphones wire (I always break them) and asked for a replacement. But I just received the new ones and it happens the same! It looks like the 3,5mm jack gets a little loose when you plug it and as soon as you move it slightly it gets disconnected and connected again.
I've been looking at the 3,5mm jack of the LG supplied headphones and the other ones I have at home and they all have 2 "stripes" but LG ones, that have 3, can it be a special jack port or something what is causing this, is just my phone faulty or all LG G3 came up like that? Thanks.

Thx but it's not the same issue, in these posts the headphones worked fine and it was the aux cable what was not recognized. Here it's the headphones what get disconnected and connected again as you turn or move the jack.

I had that problem but only a few times and I guess its solved somehow. It just disconnected as soon as I moved the cable. I mainly linked those threads because there is a known problem with this phone aux. :/ I'm not sure how to actually solve your problem sadly. I'm sure you will get a replacement if you contact LG.
I sent them an email and they called me and told me to do a factory reset (??) and if it doesn't solve itself miraculously the talk to the retailer and they will have a look. I am so tired of this phone, every week I have a new problem...

Best Bluetooth to Aux Adapter

We have lost our Bluetooth to aux adapter we had in my wife's car. it was this model, but it seems like they have a newer one out now. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004KPLS7K/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=
Anyone else have one they prefer?
me and two of my friends use this one: https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Receiver-Streaming-Hands-free/dp/B008AGQMQC/
Well, they have this one since I had the older one that's discontinued. That metal aux part comes out btw so you can run a regular cable.

Thanks and I am glad you mentioned that. I saw that one but didnt want it because I didnt want that bulky thing sticking out of my aux LOL. I was quite set on aptx but i am reading some reviews and it seems like it really doesnt add much especially for stock car speakers. The fact that this is bluetooth 4.1 makes it attractive. Many are 4.0
I've been very happy with this one, and it supports Aptx:
iClever Himbox Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit with Clip, AptX, Multi-Point Access,3-Port USB Charger https://www.amazon.com/dp/B011NR0BY8
Now that i think of it, my previous one didnt have a battery and had to be plugged in. Sounds like a negative but it was great because you didnt have to turn it on and off. I think i am going to stick with one that has to be plugged in and turns on automatically.
Im looking at these right now:

thanks! adding this to my list. This is on the pricier end of what i am looking at but also checks all the boxes including aptx.
FYI, I also had to buy a ground loop noise isolator with that Himbox, since I was getting some interference noise.

I also bought a super flat and thin aux cable so I could reduce the footprint.
