Working HotSpot Sprint LG G6 LS993 ZVA - Sprint LG G6 Guides, News, & Discussion

hi all
so this g6 phone is new on zva
i called the international uicc unlock team at 1-888-226-7212 only took 15 minuets said i was going out of the country soon no worries
not sure if you need this but theres the way i did it.
all i did was go to settings >networks tab>moremobile networks>access points names
hit add apn
i followed this example the white background attachments
mine were a lil different i highlited the new added apn and hotspot works
i didnt have to delete original apns

so i did a factory reset and just added a new apn with dun added and its workin

Works here as well! Thanks a million.

How long did it take for the unlock? I had my phone work with UICC unlock when I got it. I was able to add APN then.
But I had to factory reset because I was debloating and uninstalled a needed app.
After the factory reset, When I try a UICC unlock I get the error, "The profile update could not be completed. Please try again later." So I called that number and they said it will take 2 days or so. But I'm still wondering how long did your UICC unlock take to become effective? It's not like mine is saying im ineligible, just 'could not be completed'.
I reset the data profile, did a ## reset of the branding, still the issue remains. I have LTE signal... and can make/receive calls.
Annoying!

Ok so they gimped it for me. I had to go on the sprint community forum and they tried 2x finally got it right by locking and unlocking again.
But my LG g5 , previous sprint phone has issue- I can use 3rd party SIM, but I cant add apn with sprint or other sim. Sucks, they're saying its unlocked.

No Service Selected network (AT&T) unavailable! No Signal

I flashed in JB AOKP was working fine all of last night. I also entered my SIM Pin or unlock code. The first time I put in an 8 digit unlock code I have. Second time it prompted me I skipped it. I'm pretty sure it was the security pin and not the network unlock. I don't have any other phone's micro SIM I can insert into my phone and a local phone store's T Mobile SIM produced no different of a result except for replacing AT&T with T-Mobile (I have not however put my microSIM into another phone...because I don't have another micro sim phone). Reboot phone this morning and it's no longer working. Tried to enable 2g. Nothing. Tried a battery pull with the phone on, pulling the SIM (same message with SIM pulled out),
Wifi works
This sucks big time ;(
Note: I am pretty sure I did not network lock the phone or anything because the SIM prompt that came up when I flashed JB did not ask me for my unlock or network code (I would have known). The first time I entered that code was 'just in case it's asking me to unlock" but why would it ask me a second time then? So I doubt it was prompting me for a network unlock code. The prompt from youtube videos was different too.
Also APN is empty, but I think that's becasue I'm not connected to any network
Pressing Available networks brings up AT&T AT&T AT&T T-Mobile T-Mobile "311660" pressing any of them you get a quick window connect "too fast" goes back to/stays in available networks screen and says "Can't connect to this network right now. Try again later."
So I added the AOKP and Corresponding kernel yesterday and I mean it was working fine with 4g... apparently this thread says that you need to flash a new radio in some cases when you change kernels?

...what are you talking about. My IMEI isn't mentioned once in that post. In fact now that you mention it, since people's IMEI changed...nothing like that my phone still has its IMEI
I also did not get a "phone frozen" from entering the wrong code too many times...so I doubt its locked like that. There was a random reboot that I WOKE UP to, but nothing weird...it rebooted randomly but worked finely after that

I was proposing the theory that you may have lost your IMEI, since the symptoms you report were very similar to what I was experiencing when I lost mine, however since you still have yours, must be something else, eh?

Well, mine was definitely due to a lost imei that happened sometime when flashing.
I did get the network unlock warning thingy twice, and then had no cellular connectivity, which is why I mentioned the lost imei. I restored my nandroid back to stock, then used the method here with a little driver tapdancing to reinject my imei, and that solved my issues, but sounds like you have something else going on.

If I flash back to stock and no longer have the stock kernel, what is the steps for flashing back then?
1. flash stock kernel
2 fix partitions
3. factory rest/cache/davlik
reboot into oden and flash new image?
Long story short, Don't cut your own microsd..the sim pins on this phone are VERY sensitive and hard to fix/see. Don't bend em.
I am having the same problems right now, I keep on getting " NO SERVICE" - SELECTED NETWORK UNAVAILABLE" Error.
Rebooting doesnt help, flashing modem through CWM doesnt help. I know for a fact that the simcard it good because other apps that I install can read the sim with no problem, and my WIFI is working like a charm.
Someone got a solution for this? This is already like 4 days ongoing, please any help will be appreciated !!
Im having the same no service selected network issue. I can search and find att and the mobile but when I try to have it connect to att that's the error I get. I have an att SIM card in the phone. Sph l720 SIM unlocked, it didn't ask me for an unlock code or anything like that but I also don't get the invalid SIM card error. I've added the main apn from the att website but that doesn't help and the phone is current set to gsm/umts. If anyone has a fix please let me know, thank you.

No Connection to Carrier, please help!

Ok, so I updated my s3 to 4.1.1 but after a week of using the update, I still hadn't seen any sign of the expandable notification options. So I decided to re-install the update by flashing via Odin, which I did. After the flash, the expandable notifications still weren't available, so I instead flashed the stock firmware, hoping to update from stock and see if the problem was fixed. Unfortunately when I rebooted after the stock install, my phone would no longer connect to data, or even to the network period. I can't text, make calls, or connect to data. It shows full bars but when I try to do anything it tells me the network is unavailable.
I tried a lot of options for fixing it:
-I checked all my network settings. Data was on, I switched into and out of airplane mode, no luck.
-I tried to set my network operator by manually selecting tmobile. No luck.
-I tried re-entering T-Mobile's APN settings. No luck.
-I tried to restore from a backup I made of my 4.1.1 when it was first updated. No luck.
-I tried flashing multiple versions of stock firmware, as well as cm10. No luck.
-I checked my IMEI, it's correct.
-I flashed a few different modems. No luck.
I've run out of ideas and I can't find any other ideas in the forums. The closest I have come to getting a fix was during one instance when I was flashing stock again, I cleared my cache, dalvik cache, and did a factory reset as well as formatting my internal storage. When it did the first boot it had service for about thirty seconds. I was able to receive a few waiting text messages, and I had edge data for the remainder of the 30 second or so period. Then I lost data again. Every time I boot a notification ticks on my status bar that says "Restricted Access Changed" and before I can pull down and tap it, the notification is gone. When I try to set a Network Operator, it says something along the lines of "Unable to connect, not registered on the network." I'm stumped.
Has anybody else had this problem, and does anybody know how to fix it?
Just a guess, but perhaps T-Mobile has blocked your IMEI? Did you buy the phone off of someone or straight from T-Mobile?
Did you ever report it lost or stolen?
Only thing I can think of given your scenario.

I bought it through Costco as an authorized upgrade offer by T-Mobile. I can't imagine any reason why my IMEI would be blocked. I went to the t-mobile store yesterday and they told me that it should be working and that I should take it back to Costco and see if they can do anything for me in terms of replacement.
Problem Solved!
Apparently it was because when I got my phone they didn't give me the upgraded sim, they just cut my current one to fit the microsim slot. Go figure. This could have been solved by tmobile last night if the guy hadn't refused to help me just because I had rom manager installed on my phone. Just because I have a root program installed on my phone doesn't mean my phone got messed up playing around with root. Anyways, i updated my sim card through tmobile's phone service and I'm a happy camper now!

Network configuration corrupt with Cyanogenmod backup.

Hello, so here is my problem. I have been using Cyanogenmod 13 on my LG G3/ls990 for months now. Recently I needed a static IP address through Sprint. When they applied the static IP to my account, I was stuck on 3G, even though I mostly have LTE. Basically what I did was use an old stock rom backup to update my PRL/Profile. This brought back my LTE service. Then I reloaded my CM13 backup. Unfortunately, at first it didn't recognize my sim card, and then it only recognized 3G. Okay, so no problem, I decided I would just go back to the stock rom and clean install a new custom rom. Unfortunately, when I went back to the stock rom, it was also stuck on 3G and this time when I tried to update the PRL/Profile it didn't work, I am guessing because it already saw these as updated. So after a few chats with Sprint's tech support, I was able to get LTE to work again. She said a particular network configuration file wasn't working right, and she did something which was suppose to fix it. As instructed, I typed in code ##72786# after she did it, and LTE worked perfectly. Stupidly, I thought it would be as simple as reloading my CM13 backup. Yet it did it again when I loaded the backup, and now I am stuck on 3G again. Before this I didn't really connect the two together. Does anyone know what exactly is happening here? Tomorrow I plan to call Sprint again, to get them to fix the file, but is there a way I can do it myself, in case I have this problem again when I install a new custom rom? For example, if I go into ##Data# will I fix things by changing a setting in there or something? I hate having to talk to Sprint every time this messes up, and yeah, I know it was stupid of me to do the same thing twice, but it was a day apart and I forgot what I had done the first time. Hopefully whomever I talk to tomorrow can figure out what the woman I spoke with did, because she definitely knew what she was doing. Thank you for all of your help!
Update: Called Sprint they reset my network and I have LTE again. I am somewhat wary of installing a new rom but would like one for resolving performance issues and wifi tether. I downloaded an unofficial Lineage 15 Rom yesterday while I was on 3g only, but it couldn't find my sim. Is there a way to backup my current network settings?
Update 2: So I just tried a fresh install of Lineage 15 and it didn't work. First it recognized cell but no data. Then I went into data settings chose carrier settings that crashed, "android.com. [something]has stopped working" , the sim was unrecognizable after that and the carrier settings weren't there any longer. I backed up my EFS partition in the stock rom before installing, but then I was stuck on 3g even despite that. I called Sprint again, and got them to reset my network settings. Don't want to keep calling them though.
Anybody here with Sprint and a static IP that can recommend a ROM that will work and not mess up my network settings? I don't care if it is Marshmallow or Nougant, I just want something that doesn't overheat my phone and which I can have native tethering.
EDIT: I was able to install Fullmics and retain my LTE.

"Limited Service" error after improper reset? (MetroPCS version)

So a friend has an unlocked PCS 530 which was rooted and equipped with TWRP. She let a family member borrow it, warned him not to reset it through the Backup & Reset menu just in case something weird would happen. So, of cours,e the first thing that person did was factory reset it through the Backup & Reset menu and, of course, something weird happened. The phone had been unlocked via the MetroPCS Device Unlock app, but it seemed to re-lock after the reset and attempting to run the program again just resulted in a force-close crash. Worse still, the phone now gets no signal and gives only a "Limited Service" error.
I messed with several things to try to coax it back to normalcy and got nowhere, so tonight I decided to just find the proper RUU and go from there. (For completeness' sake, specifically it was RUU_A16_UL_M60_DESIRE_SENSE70GP_TMUS_MetroPCS_US_1.36.1550.14.exe, which seemed to be the same version firmware as what the phone had already been running.) The process completes without error... but not really, because it still doesn't work. It did *something," because the Device Unlock app now finishes, (seemingly) and if you have a Metro or TMo SIM in, you can even run a Search Networks scan that seems correct and says it connected successfully... but the signal level remains zilch.
In fact, it seems like in addition to the general connection problem, that the device unlock isn't *really* working for some reason. No error comes up when an off-network SIM is inserted, but I noticed that for one, the APNs do not generate the way I expect them to on a properly unlocked device - not even T-Mobile will autofill, just Metro. This *could* be normal on this device, but I don't think it is... and regarding the "Search Networks" scan, there's a reason I said "if you have a Metro or TMo SIM" earlier. The option is greyed out entirely when any other SIM is inserted. Hmm.
So what the hell is this, any ideas?

Sprint LG G8 can't get past setup. Can't connect to towers

Hey guys, think there's any hope for me? The phone will boot, and the IMEI isn't blacklisted, but I can't get past the setup screen as the phone can't connect to wifi or the cell phone towers. Phone is unlocked, so it should be able to connect to a T-Mobile MVNO, but it won't.
It's a Sprint phone and can be bootloader unlocked, but if I can't get past the setup screen I think I'd be unable to perform this.
Edit: I got it to get into Download mode, but can't find the Sprint kdz file anywhere. Anyone know where to look?

There's a way. I'll find the YouTube link; it's basically a way to bypass frp lock, but the way it works is to completely bypass setup, so it should work for you.

here's the video that worked for me, and I was able to just install the quick shortcut apk within the chrome app by clicking on the apk, enabling unknown sources, and clicking back to just go to chrome. To debloat the sprint activation, enable developer settings and usb debugging really quickly before it pops up after a restart (unnecessary if it can connect to WiFi then). If your security patch is too late for this method, you can find other YouTube videos for "lg g8 frp bypass"

Yeah unfortunately I can't connect to wifi either. Phone seems hosed to me - I was told it was "unlocked" but I was unable to use my T-Mobile MVNO with it. There seemed to be something wrong, either software ore hardware, that is unfixable at the moment.
If I could get the KDZ, I'd be able to check if it was software.
Either way, going back to the vendor because his claims were inaccurate.

Where are you getting stuck? On "activating device" or is it asking for google account? For activating device just press all of the buttons many times at once, it will go away (or wait about 5 minutes). You don't need to connect to any network, just get to the main screen and put in your SIM card, if it is unlocked it will pick up signal (if it is not unlocked it will say INVALID SIM). Then ##3282# select APN, click 3 dots in upper right, then reset to default.

Meh, I mean I wasn't about to screw around with that. I sent it back to the buyer as you can't get past setup without a lot of work. It's a shame because it's a Sprint phone, but by all accounts it isn't unlocked either since it couldn't work with my SIM card. Speed Talk uses T-Mo towers, so it should work in an unlocked phone.
