[TOOL] Robin Toolkit (v1.2) - Root, TWRP, rescue device...

Ok guys, so as I promised, as soon as I received my Robin I started to work on this to finish it, and after some days of working and testing, here you have a toolkit for the cute Robin:
- Unlock/Lock the Robin (You should unlock your Robin the first time you use this tool. If not, as most of the tools below need the bootloader to be unlocked, you will lose your data when running any of them for the first time. In that case, creating a backup would be really unuseful. Unlock once, unlock forever)
- Backup/Restore
- Root
- Install TWRP
- Wipe Cache/Data (with and without TWRP installed)
- Install factory images (System, Boot and/or recovery, up to you - Not the last version, I have to update it)
- Install non-forced-encryption patched boot by @d3xt3r (Thanks bud!) [Possibly adding the @deadman96385 version too in a near future!]
Root, Install TWRP and Backup/Restore work 100% sure. Other like install factory images or the non-encryption mod I haven't tested them (I have zero time, literally), but they should work (95% sure).
Thanks also to @deadman96385, @d3xt3r, and @Baymax, who helped me testing and giving me their knowdledge!
Any suggestions and bug reporting are welcome!

Now using temp files, they're deleted when the Toolkit window is closed
No need to install adb anymore, it's installed the first time you run the .exe file
Update check added. You will get a message to download the new .exe everytime an update is available

@joeminati yes, it's already been reported. Some Antivirus software take any non-signed .exe package as a virus (trojan in this case). Better answer about this, in stackoverflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...015-community-trojan-heur-qvm03-0-malware-gen

Attempted
I attempted to use this tool and it wouldn't acknowledge that my Robin was connected to it. I've installed adb and unlocked bootloader and twrp and custom rom without the tool but I wanted to try the tool and it didn't work.

@HyderAbad where did you buy your Robin? It usually has 1 year warranty from Nextbit, which covers accidental bricks. Contact Nextbit support and they will help you!

I believe you can flash factory images. If not, you can check out our forums for more information. I did provide an unbrick tool that helps to do this.

Bootloader unlock on fake rom

Got my mi5s today but has fake rom on it 8.0.10.0.0 (MAGCNDH). Can I still unlock the bootloader? If so, what is the process?

I got the unlock code today but was read the app won't recognise the phone because of the fake rom?

Yes, you can. I also had that version on my phone when I get it.
I can't unlock it with any other cable, but the original. Also, try to look to the device manager, and make sure that your phone is not recognized as "Kedacom" or something else, if it is, manually change the driver would solve the problem.

I'm currently using ZCX TWRP build 20161023 at the moment.
To install, it's simple:
1. Download TWRP (pass: ag77)
2. Extract it first
3. Flash the img with fastboot:

fastboot flash recovery ZCX-TWR-3.0.2-X-MI5S-Capricorn-16.10.23.img
Now, the TWRP will be in Chinese, but you can change it like this:
1. On the main menu, tap the second right from the bottom
2. Tap "world" icon
3. Choose "English"

Are you using the EU rom from here? https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/6-11-17.36184/ seems to lock the bootloader?

Ok twrp installed, flashed last week's EU build and seem to be in a bootloop? Shows the progress bar, completes then the cycle continues and phone is heating up

Did you did a factory reset in TWRP? We need to make sure that the data is not combined between ROMs...

Yes factory reset, cache and dalvik. Rried 2 different eu roms and it loops. The chinese beta miui_MI5S_6.11.10_62801f2895_6.0.zip works
edit: working now after wiping everything except storage and the last option.
So we cant add fingerprint?

Fingerprint works on mine...

OK it works, had to set pattern lock first.
When screen is off, fingerprint doesn't seem to unlock in one go but takes to lock screen first?

First time after reboot yes. Second time finger print scanner unlock device on first touch

Do you think I can unlock another mi5s with the same text authorisation I used to unlock my device?
The authorisation hasn't come for the 2nd device yet

Yes, you can.
Just log in to your previous account on the second device, and proceed to unlock with PC by using the same account (I did this many times with various xiaomi phones).

Steps to flash TWRP
Make sure you have installed all the drivers of the Honor 6X.
Open and extract all files from the zip and open the .exe file.
The UI is in Chinese but you can read the recovery option.
Select recovery and Flash the recovery.
Wait untill the process in complete.
Reboot your device.
The process is complete you haver installed the custom recovery TWRP in your Honor 6X.
Root your smartphone
Place the SuperSU in your smartphone internal memory.
Reboot your smartphone in recovery mode. to reboot your smartphone in recovery mode first power off your smartphone then long press volume up + power button simultaneously until the Huawei logo appears
Flash the SuperSU.
Congratulation you have successfully rooted your Honor 6X.

It's ok here i have receive my honor 6x yesterday and my honor honor 6x bootloader ulocked , twrp installed and rooted ok no problem here

I can't test dual-sim, but i don't see any major bug, but some Huawei apps such Updater and File Manager are missing...the real problem is that we cannot already downgrade to Marshmallow due to the lack of rollback packages...downgrading in dload fails (i tested it yesterday)

i mean i've only one sim + microsd. Reflashing stock will NOT work until Honor release a rollback package...so i don't reccomend to flash.

I installed 7.0 from the provided link and everything works perfectly. This phone is now super smooth, very quick and sips battery... huge difference! Feels better than my Moto Z.

I do not have the shade problem you describe, but magazine unlock is not working for me either - not really a feature I'm interested in personally.

Boot Impossible

Hello =)
I was wondering if someone will be able to help me with my honor 8 pro.
I rooted my device with TWRP for a couple of month and decided to get back because I was not able to update my device.
So I restart my phone and was in the TWRP recovery mode I did a wipe and uncheck twrp install app.
I decided to relock my bootloader to install stock firmware.
So it restart in the erecovzry mode (i think he is called like this) it let me download the latest firmware through the wifi but show me an error message couple of second after that.
I'm able to boot in fastboot and rescue mode (with android logo)
I try to download in "dload" folder in the SD Card but when i'm starting with three fingers method it's the same it load 5% and say redownload package (error)
I juste bought the honor 8 pro during the pre realease i'm living in france and i've order it on the official website.
I'm trying to know which model I have (Europe - Asia - Russia) because i put everything in the dload folder but it always show me an error.
Do you know a way to check which region my phone is coming from ? With S/N or IMEI for example ?
What I did it's I have unlock the bootloader (once again) and i have seen the TWRP recovery mode only one time and can't access it again.

Simple method is download stock firmware and flash via dload...
Did you download correct number firmware..??
Which number of firmware you were on before hoing to custom?

I already try through the dload procedure but didn't succeed lol.
Maybe I didn't find the correct firmware .
I try several maybe 3.
I can't remember which version I was on before trying to reinstall.
I didn't do the B150 and the previous one so I have to version late.
Should I recover only the version I had when trying to reinstall it ?

yes you have to be on same one or higher to flash it succesfully..
otherwise you need a rollback pkg and flash any firmware you want..
if you can find rollback pkg i suggest to you to flash lower android version of full available firmwre after your device boots up update it via ota

When you say "flash" you mean use TWRP ? or only put the firmware on the sdcard and do the 3 button method ?
Should I have the bootloader unlock or lock or doesn't matter the state of the bootloader ?

Yes i mean dload method with three button..not need bootloader status unlock or lock..
All you have to make sure is to be on stock recover and right firmware

The last attempt was "Error" and stop at 5% and another one saying incompatible firmware.
So i'm downloading couple of firmware and trying to reinstall through the 3 button method.

If you unlock the bootloader you will be in twrp.
Ok i got the device details as DUK-L09 but any idea on the region that was present in build number as DUK-L09CXYZBXYZ.
IF you know the build number it will of great help to proceed.

I didn't have any backup unfortunately of the TWRP.
I was able to access to the fastboot mode
I unlock and relock the bootloader but instead of falling on the TWRP Recovery I have the message I told you before with Error.
And sometime the same error number but instead of recovery it show boot or something like that..
I don't know what's going wrong with the three button method because I correctly format the SD Card and create the folder in it and try couple of firmware and always error ..
And I try old firmware and new firmware..

I don't know what's going wrong with the three button method because I correctly format the SD Card and create the folder in it and try couple of firmware and always error ..
And I try old firmware and new firmware..

What was your exact build before having all these issues. That would help me to provide you the correct link for right firmware

Hi sorry for the late answer.
I have my bootloader locked and the original recovery.
I would like to install the tock firmware and try couple without any success.
I don't remember what was the build number because I didn't have any backup but I did a preorder so it could be the first firmware that they put in it after production.
I try couple and always say "firware not found or incompatibility" I don't really understand because they are all for Honor 8 pro and european version..

We should create a general recovery method because many people have similar recovery issues.
In my case "dload recovery" does not work and always fails at 5% (I've tried over 10 ROMs).
As I know this means that UPDATE.APP does not match the current Honor 8 pro version (you cannot downgrade), region, modelname etc...

Please try this method..

U gotta do the slock/nvme method first (i provided link in OP) to flash twrp

When i opened the link normally it said it was in his trash and i couldn't touch it. However, i then opened it in a private window, instead of a normal one, and voila it worked....

no i also have a p9 and i cant unlock it

Damn, I just switched and dumped my iphone(Dont like it at all..) and bought mate p20 pro and now I read that I cant unlock the bootloader. FFS. Right now the phone is offering me to update EMUI to v10.0.0.180. I hold this update back and maybe there will be some way to unlock and root this phone in v9.1....

Work in nova 3i / 3 ?

Voila! your Bootloader code now is TishSerg_For4pda
Boot into fastboot and do
fastboot oem unlock TishSerg_For4pda (even if u unlocked using nvme it will FULLY unlock Bootloader)
