Is EIS enabled for 4k ? - Honor 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello All honor 8 pro users,
Can anyone of you confirm the EIS availability ?
As per this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8-pro/how-to/honor-8-pro-answers-to-f-q-t3652167
Honor agreed to provide EIS in future update. Now it's been 1 year , so would like to know they kept their words or not. For flagship device like this, EIS is a must.

What is the model of the sensor to Honor 7X?

Looked at "Honor 7X Specs and Pics Leaked by DrGreenway" characteristics. Information about the model of the sensor is missing. Have Honor 6x on the main camera is the Sony sensor IMX386. And what is the sensor here?

Hi! I'm planning to buy the Honor 7x when it arrives in my country. However, I want to know first if it already supports Camera2 Api out of the box? I only plan to buy it because of the camera and I want shutter speeds of at least 20 seconds.
I don't know how to root phones so I'm using the phones as it is.
Thank you!

Reviews of the phone on YouTube say that the camera has a f / 2.2. This is very little, I was hoping for f / 2.0. I think that this phone is not worth buying for the camera.
As the other user above asked, does this phone support camera2 API?

Anyway I think Honor 8pro is great phone, in my opinion is better than Honor 9. I bought P10 Plus from my provider, I pay monthly 30e for LTE, sms, calls + P10plus

i prefer the h9 over the h8p because of the hw nav keys and front fp sensor, its waaaaay faster than on the h8p ^^
but the decision is up to the people themself
especially when it comes to the design language!

I guess honor V10 will have a great development community because they are giving away the V10 to major developing communities like Lineage team, Paranoid team, etc

See the launch event of v10 they used AI wprds with these features to demonstrate that it is fast and accurate due to AI NPU chipset

Face ID and Animoji needs special camera tech on front side.
The face unlock that will come in future with an update will be the same as Oneplus has.
Although, that NPU could make it more accurate and faster.

personally, i still prefer honor 8 Pro because (mainly personal preferences):
* fingerprint sensor at the back
* 2K screen... not that i can tell, but at least nice to be able to gloat about it
* price point -- when it was launched, it was priced affordably. the honor view 10 is actually higher priced
* bigger battery
i feel that honor should have continued to place the fingerprint sensor at the back and make the front really "all screen". that would have been really nice. when one makes home button too tiny and close to the edge of the screen, single handed unlock becomes difficult.
also, when taking selfie, the fact that you can use the fingerprint sensor to take photos (shutter button) is also very practical.
btw, is there laser autofocus on view 10? there is for honor 8 Pro, right?

Unlocking 4K/120fps on Exynos 9810 chipset

According to this article (https://www.gsmarena.com/check_out_tfirst_samsung_galaxy_s9_benchmarks-news-29813.php), the 9810 can shoot [email protected] but purposely disabled to maintain parity with SD845.
Can any devs comment on whether it is possible to unlock this feature for Exynos chipsets?

Believe me when I say I will definatly try to unlock that option if the phone is capable of root and I can decrypt the camera app.... I've done it for the note 3-7 but gave up after getting busy... I'd also turn off the 5 minute rule

Nice to hear such devs are available who like to use all camera potential locked by business OEM . Please sir can you make 60/120fps 1080 to work on mi mix 2. Also 240fps @720p. Because sir Moto Z2 force has same imx 386 sensor same as mi mix 2 but it can do all above said. Xiaomi locked mi mix 2 only @30fps at any video. And slow Mo @120fps. Please help sir

Ohhhh that's a problem. Bye the way thank you. It means my mix 2 will remain pathetic in video department.
Buffers for 1080p/480 are most probably hardlocked somewhere in the kernel or samsung camera API or in the rom itself, the best answer we may have here is from @zeroprobe .

What About EIS?

I'm Eagerly Waiting To Honor 9N But Little Bit In Confusion Cause That's No OIS Or EIS. Does Honor Provide EIS Via Software Updates?...

Mate 10 pro vs lg g7 thinq

hi guys!i have mate 10 pro and love it so far!!Does it worth to switch to lg g7?How is the camera? Its equally good?
It's recommended to switch from any phone to LG G7 or any LG flagship!

Mate..Don't even think of switching to LG from mate 10 pro..Mate 10 pro is superb both in terms of camera and battery...
Also LG's UI is not even a match for Huawei's feature rich EMUI. If you want timely updates for your phone ..don't ever switch to a LG phone. Huawei is far better in terms of updates. I'm still getting monthly security updates on my Honor 8.
Huawei lags behind on Bluetooth though, if listening to music with high SQ is important LG is a clear upgrade. Otherwise somewhat similar devices.

Yeah, it's totally worth switching form Huawei. LG is far more solid brand. Camera can shoot video in actual formats, even in UHD HEVC with 3rd party apps.
But how is the battery and camera compared to mate?

IMO ..Mate 10 pro is superior in terms of camera and battery...Mate 10 pro rules for battery endurance among the flagships...Camera only differentiation is the wide angle on g7. But Lecia branded camera is great as well..

Based on what personal experience? I get 4-5+ sot with the lgg7. The battery on the g7 is pretty good imo. Also, isn't the mate 10 pro lacking an SD card slot? That alone is s deal breaker. It also lacks a 3.5 Jack.
Yes, both phones ecxel in different areas. Huawei wins on battery and camera. LG wins on sound quality, better Bluetooth, more powerful cpu/GPU, better for gaming, more nice form factor and lighter. My taste leans towards best SQ available, so LG wins for me. And yes, sdcard is great to have too.
Thank you all. Also how is screen compared to amoled? Are blacks good enough?
Also what about updates?
Which security patch it has now?
Android pie in horizon?

Black is good enough but there is no way you can expect it to be as good as oled screen. Its somehow the best you can expect from an lcd. The brightness is also brightest i've ever seen on any phone.
Using LG, dont expect any fast update. Developments are bloody slow compared to other flagships.

I'm actually kind of regreting getting the LG because of the blacks. I only notices it after my wife got the p20 pro. Because of the RGBW pixels the blacks are really washed out. I don't recommend it if you watch alot of video on the phone. Can't wait for next month's phone to arrive so I can switch to an oled phone. Probably gonna pick the mate 20 pro.
I only recomment this phone if you like one hand use.
That reminds, because the phone is so slim, it's 19.5x9 (or whatever), when you watch a video in full screen and you pinch out to fill the screen the video cuts alot more than an 18x9 phone (like a p20 pro or, I'm guessing, mate 10 pro as well).
Save your money and maybe get one of the phones that will come out next month. The oneplus 6t will the around the price of the G7 and I'm betting it will blow it out of the water.

I don't know the resolution. It doesn't specify.
But the p20's slow motion seemed more fluid, if that makes sense.
