[UNLOCK] Two methods to unlock bootloader without offical Huawei website (ANE-LX1) - Huawei P20 Lite Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi guys,
Last week I've bought the Huawei P20 Lite and it's a great phone - but like the most of you all I like a rooted phone and the guide provided in this forum works perfectly but... my Huawei P20 Lite must have an unlocked bootloader.
No problem, I've used the Huawei unlock password webpage on my previous phone (P9 Lite), eh.... right... like other user mentioned - it's down for unknown reasons and an alternative isn't possible. Believe me I've tried them all - even the chinese pages which are very hard to read if you're not born in that country
So, I've read about DC-Unlocker other users have used to succesfully to get the bootloader unlock code but even when following every known tutorial to use it correctly I got no luck on my Windows 10 PC for hours to connect the needed COM ports. Even the programmer of DC-Unlocker respons in a forum question the software will only work on the P20 Pro!? But, other users managed to get the code.... strange..
Finally I've managed to get the bootloader unlock code and I do want to share it for all other users having troubles connecting the phone to use DC-Unlocker. It's my first tutorial so please be patient if I'm not clear or missing something; if that's the case do respond.
Method 1:
This one is quite easy but you'll need some patience (a couple of days in my case). Send a message with a request using the offical Huawei website and the Contact Us option: https://consumer.huawei.com/en/contact-us/
I send a mail something like this:
Dear customer support,
I would like to receive an unlock bootloader code for my Huawei P20 Lite phone. I am aware I'll void my warranty but would like to get receive the code anyway.
Thank you.
Click to collapse
A few days later I've got a respons with the answer this is possible and a few questions for the data they need to do so. Responding to the e-mail will result in the unlock code you'll need.
I cannot say how long it exactly will take to get a respons. In my case it was arranged in a few days but don't know how quick the respons will be for any other user.
Method 2:
For anyone who cannot wait a couple of days (like me), here's an alternative which will cost about 4 to 5 euro's (credits) to get the code using DC-Unlocker.
Requirements:
DC-Unlocker client which can be downloaded here: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads
Windows 7 or 8 (Windows 10 didn't work for me - but hey, you can always try :good
Well, let's go:
First connect your phone to the PC using the original USB cable.
When drivers are installed a popup screen would appear to view the "HiSuite" drive. This is a created drive-letter which contains a HiSuite Software downloader. Click to open or use the Windows Explorer to browse to this virtual drive.
Install the HiSuite software - this is important to get the correct drivers AND correct COM ports installed on your system. Skipping this step will result in non working DC Unlocker software.
When all is done go to the settings in your phone and open: System -> About Phone and tap the Build-number line about 7 to 8 times. Most likely the phone will ask for a PIN to active the developers mode. This is the code you've setup to use your phone. If you're already have a "developers option" you can skip this step.
Now click the "back" arrow once and select "Developer options".
Tap OEM-Unlock to activate it (confirm if needed), scroll down and tap USB Debugging to turn it on.
Your phone should ask permission to connect your PC (with some MAC address). Confirm it so the connection is approved. If that doesn't show up disconnect the USB cable and check if the USB debug mode is still active in the "Developer options". Than reconnect the cable to your PC.
Now we're ready to use the DC-Unlocker software to get our unlock code:
First you need some credits and you can buy the using this link: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/buy
Just fill in the the fields User-name, E-mail and Credits. Leave the "New user account" option selected if you are a new user.
For the Credits you only need 4 of them. I, initially, bought 5 so I still have one left
You'll receive a confirmation e-mail with a username and password. These are needed a bit later.
Extract the DC-Unlocker client to a fold and start it by clicking dc-unlocker2client.exe using the Windows Explorer (or any other file manager). To be sure you can also right-click the file and start the program using Administrator credentials.
Select in the right portion of the program the tab "Server" and enter the username and password you've received by mail. Check the "Remeber" box and click "Check login" to verify your account.
Click in the left portion of the program the dropdown list below "Select manufacturer" and choose "Huawei phones".
Leave the droplist "Select model" selected at "Auto detect (recommended)".
Grab your phone and open your dialer to type this code: *#*#2846579#*#* - this will get you into the service menu of the phone.
Tap 1. Background Settings -> USB Port Settings and select Manufacture Mode and than tap Close.
Put the phone done and let your PC install the newly found drivers.
If that's done click the Magnifying glass in the DC-Unlocker client software.
If all is connected correctly your phone is detected and a message in the white part of the program will tell you so. Also the "Select Model" field should display Huawei HiSilicon Kirin Android if the detection is succesfull.
Now you're ready to read the unlock code! Yeah!
Click in the right portion of the DC-Unlocker client on the tab Unlocking.
Several buttons are visible but just click Unlock which could take a few moments before something is displayed in the white area at the bottom of the program window.
The unlock code can be copied and pasted - so please do copy the number to a text file and store it savely on your computer or in your cloud.
You are the proud owner of the unlock bootloader code of your phone so have fun and start rooting it using the tutorials on this forum! Have fun!
Final note (once again): I did not have any success getting the unlock code using DC-Unlocker while using a Windows 10 PC. No matter which drivers I tried, no matter how many times a tried, tried and tried some more - nothing would work. The needed virtual COM ports to read the phone information couldn't be installed. Finally I've used an older Windows 7 laptop and it work like a charm!
So beware; when you've no luck using Win 10, stop wasting time and use a virtual machine or old laptop/PC which has Win 7 (maybe Win 8)!

I've used the official website today and got my unlock code in a seconds.

Really? Guess, they are back online than. Do you mind to share the exact link in this thread for other users? Thanks!

I used this link: https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin/unlock/index

It seems that the site will be up just for today

Sad. But lucky me, I got the code. I hope they will not lock it with the next OTA.

This link is still active. Atleast for now; when entering the UNLOCK page on the website this announcement pops up:
To provide better user experience and avoid issues caused by ROM flashing, the unlock code application service will be stopped for all products launched after 2018-5-24.
For products released prior to this date, the service will be stopped 60 days after this announcement.
Thank you for your understanding. We will continue to provide you with quality services.

If I understand it correctly this unlock page is only available for about 60 days. The unlock page should be accessible until the 23rd of july 2018? I guess sending them an email will still do the job or you can use the DC-Unlocker tool as described in this topic.

Will they automatically cancel your warranty if you request this unlock code?

Hello everyone. I downloaded de DC-Unlocker, did all the process exactly as the steps and in the end the tool said it was successful and that my phone is now unlocked. However, it never gave me the code.
Is there any way to retrieve this code?
Edit: It seems all the wanted was more money. I had to buy an extra 4 credits to click on the option "read unlock code". Now I have it and my phone is unlock

I was using Windows 7.
Ironically, i had to revert it back to stock and lock the bootloader again because the phone was hardware damaged and I needed to take it back to the store so the could exchange it.
I don't want to spend more money to unlock the bootloader and root it, so this new phone will remain totally stock unless it is extremely necessary

Mine seems to work with DC Unlocker, but how to verify?
Thanks!

God damn. I seem to run into the same issue. CLT-L29 8.1.0.152(C432)
I heard that it's impossible to unlock the bootloader even if you have the code for it if running the latest OS update. Is this true? Are we stuck with Huawei's spyware for good?

Method 1 doesn't work anymore :

Dear Mr xxxxx,
thank you for your request regarding the bootloader code.
My name is Tolga Akburak, I would be happy to take care of your request.
We have stopped support for the bootloader code.
Therefore, unfortunately, it would no longer be possible.
If you have any further questions, I look forward to reading from you again. Until then, thank you very much for the pleasant communication and have a nice day.
Best regards,

Root Method Available?

Hi Community,
I have the M2 since a few month and I'm still looking for a working root method. So far I've tried Kingroot and the official way via Huawei-Support, but they couldn't give me the code because I cannot find the Product ID of the M2 (Mine is wifi only, no dialer -> no chance to "dial" the code to get the product ID).
I read through the forums here and some chinese forums and it seems like it is possible, to use the TWRP for the X2 for the M2 as well. But of course I need to unlock the bootloader in order to be able to flash that.
Is anyone of you aware of any working root or unlock method for the M2-801W?
Any hint is greatly appriciated. Thanks in Advance!
Tested srsroot as well without success even though it says it is supported. It patches the system and reboots - but su binary isn't there after the reboot.
FRP Protection is disabled in developer options (OEM Flashing -> Enabled), Bootloader says FRP Protection is not active

I found a youtube video with the title HUAWEI MEDIAPAD M2 UNLOCK USING FURIOUSGOLD.
There it is shown that you have to go to the calculator and type in ()()2846579()() and then =. (Tablet must be in landscape mode to get the parenthesis.) This opens the project menu where I found my IMEI, although I do not understand why my WIFI only tablet has one. Anyway, it was the same as the serial number.
For the product ID I tried the same procedure: Calculator -> ()()1357946()() and then =. Shows an 8-digit number.
I then went to the Huwai site for the unlock key. After pressing the submit button, I get 'SN and IMEI are mismatched.' I will contact Huawei about this error.
Does this work for anybody else?

Works for me as well. Got also an error message on the huawei unlock side saying "The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days."
Edit: Furios Gold is a sim unlock tool. We need a bootloader unlock tool!
Thanks
It is actually possible to unlock the bootloader just fine, did it on mine. The option 3 on http://forum.xda-developers.com/med...apad-x2-unlock-bootloader-root-guide-t3212325 ie. using DC-unlock and then "fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" using adb works. I have not tried the TWRP meant for X2 on the M2, but as far as I have understood it should work.

Thank you for sharing that information - unfortunately it is not working for me, DC unlocker fails to detect the tablet. I followed the instructions carefully, all drivers are present as described on dc unlocker page. I tried it in a windows VM and on HW, doesn't work for me.. (I tried autodetect huawei phone and Mediapad X2 directly)

Do you have 8, 10 lte or wifi?
I have mediapad m2-801L.
I have rooted my phone already by following the guide in mediapad x2.
Well that's good that there is alternative method if kingroot doesn't work.
A. Please go to this link: here
B. I have used DC Unlocker to unlock my bootloader (costs €4) and it can directly unlock the mediapad by using their app. Please click here
C. I flashed the TWRP in the link above using fastboot.
D. I flashed the SuperSU found in the same link above and done! Mediapad M2 is rooted now.
Do you know Iif it's possible to root without unlocking bootloader? do we loose anything if bootloader is unlocking.
I have xperia z5c and I don't want to unlock bootloader because some features will be disabled
Kingroot worked for me (latest version, APK run directly on the tablet)
I have the 802L Wifi only on 5.1.1, Kingroot said that there is no root method available, but I was able to continue and got root.
Previously, i had disabled the FRP Protection (Developer Options -> Enable OEM flashing)
DC Unlocker worked for me as well - the Mediapad 8.0 seems to be supported now in the latest version. You need to set your device to manufacturing mode (open the calculator, turn the tablet around to see it in landscape mode, type ()()2846579()() and =
then, from the background service menu, select USB Options -> Manufacturing mode.
You need to install the driver package from this page: https://www.dc-unlocker.com/how-to-read-huawei-bootloader-unlock-code
After the bootloader was unlocked, I was able to flash TWRP (the chinese version for the X2) and an english language pack (just place the ui.zip in TWRP -> theme folder on the tablet) - SuperSU worked as well, I'm having some trouble with xposed, sometimes it is working, sometimes it's not.

14 day wait for bootloader unlock?

Is this possible to skip? Can we unlock with adb / fastboot or is that not going to work / likely to brick the device?
Unlock Resposibly
adb or fastboot unlock will only work after 14 days of waiting. It is to allow you to rethink your decision. OEM unlock will obviously void your warranty and applications like Android pay will stop working. Trust me, relocking will not be easy as unlocking. Even if you somehow get it relocked, Android pay will still not work for you. So, unlock responsibly.
Thanks for the reply . I'm really doing it for root access, modifying the hosts file, changing fonts and boot animation, but the latter two aren't necessities.
I don't use Android pay (don't use contactless) but I am a little concerned that online banking will cease to function when the phone is on a stock firmware and rooted. If there's an effective system wide ad blocker I may use that instead.
For hosts file, I recommend dns66, available through fdroid, no root required.
i have found that many banking apps will continue to work with root provided you also have a hide root app installed but android pay is a no go.

Hello guys.
For those having bootloader unlock server issue (normally everybody), there's a post on the Lenovo forum that gives the origin of the issue:
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/P2-P2a...-bootloader/m-p/4574568/highlight/true#M12457
In fact, the problem seems coming from an non renewed SSL Certificate in the Lenevo server tracking the OEM Unlocking requests.
The suggestion given by fls2 is to change the date of the P2 phone to a previous date than the 10 July 2019 and the Bootloader Unlocking process should be launched.
That's what I've done with a second P2 I bought that has its bootloader locked.
I set the date to 10th of April 2019 and the phone is now waiting for 14 complete days to engage the OEM Bootloader unlock instead of the usual Lenovo ID error pop-up.
I'll wait for the process to end and see if everything went fine, but it seems that it should be OK as it was with my first P2 phone.
I'll keep you informed if there are some trouble in the process but I stay confident.
In case of success, we should address a very big "thank you" to fls2 for pointing out the issue with Lenovo server.
20 days have passed since registered. Always shows error.
Unable to unlock OEM.
Don't know what to do...
Hello everyone,
As I have written in my last post, I've used the suggested method of manually changing the date to one before the 10th July 2019.
So, as I've said, the 14 days counter has been correctly launched and I was able to see the counter evolving from 14 to 2 days.
Then I was a little bit busy and I haven't followed my P2 phone until last week-end.
When I tried to consult the status of the bootloader unlocking request, I had the same annoying pop-up telling me there's a problem with my account.
The date was fixed to 10th of April 2019 manually, but still had connection error pop-up.
I then tried to switch to current day date of the week-end (29/02/2020), and tried to check again the bootloader unlock status: Annoying pop-up again.
Before giving up, I've tried putting another date manually but at least 14 days after the one I've put when I made my first request and still before the 10th of July 2019, so I switched to 10th of June 2019.
This time, when I checked the bootloader unlock request, I've got no error and had a positive bootloader unlock message that told me the phone is going to reboot and erase all user data that are present.
The phone has rebooted in Fastboot mode and I was able to send the awaited "fastboot oem unlock" command from my laptop.
I didn't try to reboot the system and see if the fastboot command will work if I go in fastboot mode by myself, because I didn't want to miss the opportunity to succeed in unlocking the bootloader of this phone.
I let the people brave enough to try if they feel comfortable with that.
Now this phone is working with an AICP Android Q ROM that seems very stable.

AFAIK, no. You need to wait that. Also there is bigger problem than that which its the unlocking bootloader (server problem). Just you can read above, for no reason you cannot unlock bootloader.

@mahmutpekkara somehow I managed to unlock the OEM. It took me few attempts tho, so I'm guessing their servers are not always operating. No needed to change the date in my case.
Only 3 days remaining, so hopefully everything goes well.

10 steps to unlock your phone if you have trouble doing it. (Unlock Bootloader)

Hey guys, i had trouble unlocking my phone following different guides and now that i've done it, i thought i would share the steps i did so it may help other users.
Let's do this:
1. First turn off any VPN both on your pc and phone.
2. Download the mi unlock tool.
3. On your phone disconnect your main mi account. (we will create a new mi account that we gonna only use for the unlocking process)
4. On Pc create a new mi account with email only. (you won't use any phone number in the whole process.)
5. On Pc go to your email box and click on the link to activate your mi account.
6. On your phone add your new mi account account (it will ask you phone number just choose "other ways to sign in" and put your new mi account "email and pass")
7. On your phone go to Additional settings > developper options. and check the OEM unlocking.
8. On Pc go to i.mi.com they will ask you to upgrade your account. don't do it. instead click on the find device purple bouton. (it doesn't matter if it locate your phone or not).
9. On your pc let that window open and minimize it. Open Mi unlock tool.
10. Turn off your phone and boot on fast boot "volume down + turn on" connect your phone to your pc and press "Unlock".
Your phone should get unlocked instantly when reaching 100%. Press reboot phone.
PS: If you still having trouble you can create as many mi accounts as you want and try the different steps again.
Hi
Not working, created new account, added it to my new Redmi Note 5 for unlock, all step done, but had the 360 hours to wait message at the end.
Unlock process gets to 99% and then "Current account is not bound to this device" message. If I do that I have to enter my phone number.
Does it matter if I have a SIM inserted?
Ok, after chasing the magic unicorn and 8 accounts later I can say that I have my doubts that it is possible with any of these methods.
You really have to wait 15 days to unlock. This really lowers the value of this phone a lot.
PS.: You need the (official) Dev ROM (global/chinese doesn't matter I guess) so that you can maybe unlock it in 15 days. Otherwise you get the "Current account is not bound to this device" no matter what you do.

I already use the dev ROM otherwise I wouldn't even be able to bind the account.
I guess the problem is that you need an old account for this method.
PS.: Btw the method described here is without binding if I understand it correctly, but I tried it with and without.

PS.: Btw the method described here is without binding if I understand it correctly, but I tried it with and without.

Yeah ok, that is what I did because I had to. I just can't get over the 360h cap and it gets reset every time I change account.
How old is the first/main account you are using, @AkashAlien?

To get to the 360h wait you need to bind your account. If you get the 86006 error you probably need to use one of the dev ROMs (Global or Chinese).

Care to share your Mi Unlock app?
EDIT: IT WORKS!
I used the old version miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10 (link https://www.xiaomigeek.com/download-mi-flash-unlock-tool.html) instead of the latest 3.3.525.23.
Other than that, just follow the steps from OP.
No need binding.
Old ver of mi unlock doesn't check for binding (although it still asks to login - use the new account to login to mi unlock)

Your Device Has Failed Verification And May Not Work Properly

I recently got a 7x from ebay.co.uk. I noticed the opened box states the model is BND-AL10 (Chinese) but in the phone settings it's a BND-L21 (International). S/N and IMEI match.
Out of curiosity I tried Huawei Firmware Finder for Oreo. I used DNS method, picked the top one as seen here (verified): hxxp://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=BND-L21C432&firmware_page=0
It downloaded like 20 patches totalling around 8+GB and then asked to reboot...and failed.
My phone still works but I now get this during boot:
"your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
1) Press power key to continue.
2) Press volume up key up to 3 seconds to enter erecovery to restore your device.
3) your device will stop, start if there is not operation.
I tried Huawei eRecovery: 'Getting package info failed'
What should I do? Noob.

erecovey fails for everybody. dont know why.
the message you see is normal if bootloader is unlocked. You should have had that same message first time you turned it on too.
Attempting to use firmware finder to apply updates , is not possible to unlock bootloader, so it had to have already been that way.

Thanks for the reply. I definitely did not have this message before trying Firmware Finder. I have not done anything else to the phone.

This is known message resulting from of having boooader unlocked. Few people have been trying to make it not show , but no one has made it public if they have been successful at hiding it.
Now you got that phone (used, I assume ).From eBay. Perhaps the previous owner found some way. And attempting to update made his "hack" undo. Don't really know.
You can check if bootloader lock status to be sure if it is unlocked or not.

In FASTBOOT&RESCUE MODE:
PHONE Unlocked
FRP Lock
This phone is sold as brand new boxed. However, like I said it was opened. I wasn't expecting to get a Chinese version that has been flashed. I should have just paid a bit more from Amazon. Though, I'm not fussed as long as I get updates and it's stable.

that status is very bad.
that combination of unlocked bootloader and locked frp is often hard if not impossible to get past.
unless you can access developer options menu and enable "enable oem unlock" menu option.

PHONE Unlocked
FRP Unlocked
I read that "Huawei is no longer offering bootloader unlock code in 60 days." I tried to request a unlock but I get just get
"If you have any questions about the unlock code application, please contact us."
Nothing happens. I contacted them.
Will I ever need that unlock code given that it is already unlocked? Should I return/refund the phone and buy from Amazon UK or am I wasting my time, since I'll likely be requesting a unlock code and possibly be playing with roms in a few years. I keep phones as long as possible and a basic user which is why I have little knowledge with them.

I would try and get a refund (if you bought via PayPal I think you may get some kind of support).
You can get the 7x from UK retailers for as low as £210. But the current Amazon price of £228 is not bad.
Do you browse HotUKDeals? Always check there before buying anything in the UK or from China.
Cracking deal for a China sourced redmi note 5 from tomorrow:
https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/sa...900mah-aliexpress-xiaomi-online-store-2948784
Search for 7x deals.
Cheers

Yes, PayPal. I contacted the seller on the matter. Will see what they say. After using Firmware Finder correctly I updated to 8.0 Oero. The message during boot also went away... I'll certainly check out hotdeals. But if the phone works should I bother?

i think it is a little suspicious on the bootloader getting unlocked like that, but if its working , and you flashed full ota, then maybe give it a try.

Sorry for bring you any inconvenience and disappointment, the reason we have opened the package is because we need to download a multiplied language system to the phone before sent it out, they it can be use normal in this country. And for the model no, that's a normal phenomenon after rooting the phone.
Anyway, is it affect your use? what can us do for you now?"

Since the bootloader is unlocked I won't need to request a unlock code or ever need that code? As I did read Huawei is no longer offering bootloader soon.
Bootloader unlock and relock
deleted, posted on a new thread
Hi. I'm having an issue with this new phone. It's Wowi Ultra SQ766. On start up interface the 'Red State' notice comes up, goes off for 5 seconds and comes back on. The full message states:
'Red State
Your device has failed verification and may not work properly.
Please download boot image with correct signature or disable verified boot.
Your device will reboot in 5 seconds'.
Could you please help me out with a solution or fix for this.
I'd be happy if you would help.
Awaiting your reply.

Samsung S20+ 5G SM-G986U Google Lock

Hello All,
I purchased this phone from Facebook Marketplace and it is locked to a google account. The seller has not responded to my messages after the deal. I was hoping I could find a solution for this but I'm stuck at a dead end after weeks of searching.
The Android Recovery page shows: Android 11, G986USQS2DUE2. I've come to know that it is on binary 2 of the bootloader and that has been the crux of the issue since there is no combination firmware available for this version to reset the lock. If it was still on binary 1 I could have flashed the combo firmware, reset the lock, and then flashed back with Odin.
I was hoping someone could let me know my options here. As far as I know I'm S.O.L and lost my money which isn't a big deal. But I've been having fun trying to figure it out. None of the YouTube methods have worked for me.
Apologies if this is not the correct forum or if this type of question is not allowed. Thanks in advance!
edit: Was able to solve it with some useful tools I found on YouTube. Won't advertise the tool here but basically used my PC & USB command to sneak into the app store and download Alliance Shield to enter debug mode and was able to unlock it with the tool.

Thanks for the advice. I emailed them and unfortunately they do not support the feature for this phone.
I remember from xda-developers: https://www.xda-developers.com/bypass-frp-unlockjunky/ and https://www.xda-developers.com/droidkit-unlock/ but otherwise report to police. Sounds the device been stolen.
Use progeeksblog frp unlock service to get your phone unlocked within 5 minutes.
