Next steps after s-off, super cid? Want to flash TWRP for root capability. - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I recently got my hands on a one m9 and noticed that it came s-off in box. I have done the super-cid process but I'm wondering what is the best way to achieve TWRP and subsequently root. I cannot unlock the bootloader using htcdev because it's the verizon variety and has the oem unlocking option removed(ver. 3.37.605.15).
(fastboot oem get_identifier_token gives: )
Code:
INFO[KillSwitch] : /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/frp
INFO[KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X00, disable unlock
INFO[KillSwitch] oem unlock Turn Off!
OKAY
From my understanding, this means I can only flash another ruu and it would have to be one that will gives me oem unlocking and from there I could unlock the bootloader with htcdev and flash twrp, supersu, etc.
Is this correct? Or is there another way to go about this?
What ruu should I use? Can it be from any carrier?
Thanks in advance.

Resolved
I managed to flash TWRP via fastboot and unlocked the bootloader using info in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...lock-bootloader-htcdevs-t3092036/post69028485, I used the terminal in TWRP for root.

Unlock S-OFF bootloader

Is there a way to unlock a ONE X bootloader without using HTCDev if you have s-off? I can flash to any partition in recovery, but when I try to flash using fastboot it returns an error. I tried the command fastboot oem unlock but that returns an error as well. Any help would be appreciated.
Not yet no, check the around the check here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604300
Theres a few others but that is the thread you are gonna find when S-OFF is available from, lots of work is going into it but to no avail so far.

HTC One m9 (Verizon) Unlocking Bootloader

I am trying to root my m9. I went through the steps on HTCDev.com - there is no FASTBOOT option in bootloader (download mode). Went into Settings>Power and there is no option for FASTBOOT in there either. Then went into Developer Options to enable OEM UNLOCKING - NO OPTION........ Supposedly I need to enable OEM UNLOCKING to get the FASTBOOT option in Bootloader so the I can get my Identifier token. How can I enable OEM UNLOCKING?
Verizon blocks all those methods. The only way to do it is with a java card or xtc clip to get s-off and then unlock.
Thank you, I ordered one today. hopefully this works
If i remember correctly there is another thread where the xtc2clip was used but it caused issues due to the routine the poster used. It would be worth hunting that thread down before you start.
You wont brick the phone but you can get it stuck at a certain point..
Beamed in by telepathy.
I was able to get the Bootloader unlocked using SUNSHINE. Worked great.

relock bootloader

Due to increased issues with triggering safety net i wish to go back to locked (or relocked, same deal really).
Im S-OFF Unlocked now and the fastboot oem lock command gives me a error:
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] : /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/frp
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] Last Byte is 0X00, disable unlock
(bootloader) [KillSwitch] oem unlock Turn Off!
I have read that you need to enable OEM unlocking in dev settings but this option is greyed out due to beeing unlocked. So i cant enabe it to relock, or whatever.
So right now im stuck.
Anyone know how to proceed?

You could run Sunshine again, choosing "Locked and s-off", but I would run a RUU before to avoid any nasty situations

I managed to get back to RELOCKED, to do it I had to reflash 6.0 firmware as 7.0 firmware does not let you turn on OEM unlocking when allready unlocked the bootloader, and the lock command does not work if the OEM unlocking is "on" (but it was off, weird).
I flashed 6.0 and relocked and upgraded to 7.0.
sunshine runs but does not let me do anything as im s-off allready

Please can you point me to the 6.0 RUU that you used

Relock bootloader S-on

Can't seem to find any into on relocking the bootloader with S-on
other than HTC has disabled the oem lock in 7.0
So is there anyway I can downgrade to with a TWRP backup, flash a stock recovery file relock the bootloader and then run the latest RUU to update everything or do I need S-off to downgrade the bootloader to relock?
It's not for a warranty claim, I just want to use Android pay since it works with my bank now.
I'm assuming a ***RELOCKED*** flag would pass it's security check?
I don't have sunshine since I never went S-off.

You may want to look into flashing a custom kernel, like ElementalX. Hides the bootloader unlocked status from safetynet. You'd also need to have an untouched system partition as well for Android Pay to work.
You can simply relock the bootloader, no need to downgrade. But you will have to flash a RUU >= your current version. Done it several times, it works
The command world be "fastboot oem lock". Phone needs to be in download mode, obviously...
Relock flag passes safetynet, yes.

You sure?
I've tried it 3 times with a 2.41 RUU the command does what it should, but reboot still shows unlocked.

Enable OEM unlocking option in developer options from settings. Then the command.
A breadcrumb for anybody on the same trail...
If your bootloader status is still "unlocked" even after flashing a stock RUU and passing a seemingly successful "fastboot oem lock", try removing your SD card and "fastboot oem lock" again. After a load of messing around this immediately allowed me to gain "Relocked".
I loved my HTC10 in it's heyday but I'm so over all these HTC quirks

How to Unlock a Relocked bootloader of HTC One E9 S-OFF

Hi
I managed to "Relock" my Unlocked bootloader of HTC One e9 (please don't ask why ) The phone is S-OFF, rooted with fully working TWRP recovery. How can I unlock the phone again.
I've tried the following with no success :
- command "fastboot oem unlock"
-to flash the Unlock.bin again
-the method from this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708571
Do you have any other ideas?
Thank you!
hmm... What about trying to unlock it in the RUU?
I just relocked my phone then unlocked it again with the same Unlock_code.bin and the same instructions from htcdev unlock instruction page 4 in download mode. So yeah, it works.
My phone is S-ON though, but I doubt that it matters.
