PLEASE HELP ME *My "NEW" google pixel xl is supper slow on 2,4GHz* - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

Hello i recently got the pixel xl and it worked fine on 5 GHz wifi but when its connected to 2,4 GHz wifi its super slow and it shows connected, without internet or its supper slow I can not even play youtube video on 128p or surf the web...the best thing is there no service center in my country for Google devices and I don't have the receipt
I tried to factory reset it or flash android p but no luck either any way to fix it?
I know that 5ghz is faster but the problem is that most places doesn't offer 5 GHz wifi and i cannot do anything without mobile data

Couple of things, have you used a program like "wifi analyzer" (free in the play store) to see what kind of interference there may be with the 2.4 ghz signal? If too many networks are using the same channel it can cause problems. Are you close to the router or is there a wall or electrical panel between you and the router? Also, have you tried turning off Bluetooth? While not always a cause of interference it can be. One last thing, have you tried different 2.4 ghz networks?

How many other devices are connected to your WiFi. I would unplug the modem and router, let it sit for a minute then reconnect the power.

There's no need for a service center with a Pixel device - you have a 24 hour chat and a phone call service included with the phone. Just go to Settings/Support & tips. I have used both chat and phone call support in the past, and they were great. People on the other side are actually very knowledgeable.
At the same time, this is one of buggiest phones I have used since the beginning of Android. Probably a phone with the most bugs, some completely deal breaking, like the Bluetooth bugs, that exists.
If you want top of the line speed and innovative software, go Pixel. If you want garbage hardware and tons of bugs, go Pixel.

I already contacted them via this way and I am waiting an email for what to do next!
hope they help me since I don't have the invoice and the box!
PS. For some unknown reason I called them on USA number and they said that because I am from Cyprus and google doesn't have a store or service here (the phone is bought from England) they can not help me that means my phone is for garbage ...... let's hope online chat will be more helpful!
And again sorry for my bad English!

Wifi speed with bluetooth headset ON

I am noticing that whenever I have my bluetooth headset on using the Note 2, the wifi speed degrades considerably. If you are listening to an online song stream, you may not notice as song does not take that much bandwidth for streaming, but if you watch an HD youtube video and listen using bluetooth headset, the video keeps getting stuck waiting for buffering.
Anybody else sees the same problem with Note 2? I am strongly suspecting that it is some sort of bluetooth intervention with wifi that degrades wifi download speed considerably. You could do this experiment by checking your internet speed with/without playing a song over bluetooth headset, and you would see the difference in download speed.
Wow. Good find. This is a problem.
With bluetooth on the wifi speed is slower, but with streaming audio it's abysmal.

To those who can test, can you pay results with both a 5ghz and 2.4ghz wifi connection? This could be related to interference and it affects everything from Android phones to Macbooks....

This really sucks that we cannot see any HD video online using the bluetooth headset. I remember trying the S3 and do not remember seeing this issue with it. I wonder if this interference issue is specific to Note 2 only

Actually, if you Google something like "bluetooth slow wifi", you'll see that all kinds of phones, tablets and computers have this problem. Some more than others.
Not sure how this can be fixed. If it is caused by interference than using 5ghz wifi could help.

What a bummer.... look at these speeds with 2.4ghz wifi vs. 5ghz when bluetooth is on. I haven't tried it streaming, but the speeds are already half with 2.4ghz so this must be an issue with radio interference.
My suggestion is that if you can connect to your Internet via a 5ghz wifi router, then do it if you'll be using bluetooth.

Hey guys, wanted to let you know that the network speed issue that I reported on my galaxy Note 2, is no more seen i the galaxy S4. I feel there was perhaps some software/hardware issue that was resolved causing this issue to go away (at least speed difference is not noticeable when watching youtube HD videos).

Hi ! I have the same problem but in worse ! I can't even update the meteo widget ! If I understood you well, I should go for a 5 GHz connection ... but how do I change this ?

The router that you connect to has to support 5ghz. Once a hot spot is created on the 5ghz band, you simply connect to it.
You'll get a shorter range, but it will be at top speed.

The problem is that both wifi and bluetooth are used from the same communication chip.
Not only the wifi is slower but also the signal is lost considerable more. also when a download is pushed the bluetooth connection on my note 2 is stuttering.
There is only one fix for this. samsung and other companies need to stop using one chip for both wifi and bluetooth!!
@rks, then i think the s4 has a seperate wifi and BT chip on the board
Losing a stripe!?

wifi drop out with bluetooth

I just got the note 8 and I was watching YouTube with my jam box bluetooth speaker. Wifi was dropping out. When I turn off bluetooth the wifi is fine. This problem effects other devices I understand - like the nexus 4. Samsung built this tablet without fixing the problem? Thoughts please. This is a major dissapointment and I may return the tablet but l would rather not if a fix is available or coming soon.

:good:
Does anybody else have this problem? It is happening again in another room of my house. According to wifi analyzer l am getting between 60 and 70dbm signal strength which is in the yellow zone but close to green. So it is not a weak signal.
I will return mine for another, hopefully not wasting my time.

I had the same problem with my Note 10.1; it only happened when streaming bluetooth audio. It was fine when using my bluetooth keyboard. I askedthe same question that you did, but on the Note 10 forum, and I got no replies.
I might get this problem when I'm using Tablet Talk and connected with bluetooth. I also have short and brief instances were WiFi seems to disconnect.

Well I got another Note 8 today and playing around with it. I am close to the router and wifi is dropping out while streaming to my jambox. The only mitigating thing as the wifi usually reconnects before the buffer is used up... at least when I am close to the router and the signal is strong.
I can't believe that not one reviewer identified this problem! Shows you how useless they are. :^)
As this is android 4.1 based it should not have the streaming issues. So this may be a hardware issue.
This sucks and I have to evaluate if this tablet is now worth it.
Did you guys do the software update that came out in april? I read somewhere it had bug fixes for wifi issues.

Update
I went to the samsung store to test my jambox with their galaxy note 8 and their wifi. Surprise surprise there was no drop out. So I suspect my old dlink DIR-655 router 2.4 GHz is the problem. Anyways I just got a new Asus rt-n66u router and set-up the note 8 on the 5 GHz band. Streaming Google play music to my jambox while browsing on the Internet and no drop out. Tablet is a keeper. What a relief.

To fix your problem you need a dual band 2,4 - 5 ghz router......it's not a problem of your tablet/phone....

Thank you. Buying a dual band 2.5/5Ghz router and using the 5Ghz solved my problem.

Do I have issues with my 10.1-2014?

Hi all, I have had my P600 since Christmas and it has been good. I am running ML1 firmware, no root. It shipped with MJ2.
I have noticed a couple of problems. Firstly, I have occasional bluetooth keyboard disconnects. They really infrequent but definitely occur. They just don't seem to be anywhere near as severe as people have been describing in other threads.
Secondly, this tablet just can't detect my 5GHz wifi connection. My Note II on the table next to it has no problems finding and using that connection. I am downloading MK1 firmware now to see if it is ML1 that is the problem, as I *think* that the tablet originally detected both 2.4 and 5GHz connections. I didn't really take note though. I have noticed this now mainly because I've been trying to turn wifi on and off to test what may be happening with bluetooth.
Thing is, I've never really had a good BT experience in my life, but I need to get this keyboard and a mouse working to use this tablet the way I intend to.
Is the 5GHz failure an ML1 thing, is there some other cause, or is it a hardware fault? Any tips?
Cheers,
Jason
Running ML1 as well. No comment on the BT keyboard since I haven't used mine enough yet, only for a few minutes here and there to test, not long time.
I have a dual band Asus RT AC-66U and I can use both my 2.4 and 5 Ghz networks. Only thing is that the 5 Ghz network gets poor reception from the tablet across my house (to be expected I suppose).

Thanks for the reply. It prompted me to look further and I realised it's a channels thing. Changed the channel on my router and the Note can see 5GHz now.
Silly me.
Someone has to find what's going on with bluetooth problem. It's very critical to be able to use this tablet with mouse and keyboard , especially bluetooth, as you can charge the tablet in the same time.

I agree. It is stressing me out. I feel a little trapped because a good test would be to install cleanrom 1.1, which at least one person has said fixed bluetooth, but I can't do that without sacrificing my warranty.
I am not even sure whether I have a hardware problem or bluetooth is just a dubious technology.

[Solved] Problems tethering the FTV Stick

Has anyone had any issues when using a tethered connection with their FTV?
I got a FTV stick last week to replace my chromecast, but it's been driving me crazy with this. I'm away from home for about a week at a time off and on, and tether my phone for the internet. Works great on the Chromecrast, can stream 1080p videos at 2MB/s+ np. The FTV on the other hand seems to only pull at max 75~kB/s. Seems to work fine on a regular router.
Anyone know what's up here? I searched for everything I can think of, but nothings come up.
My phone is a Nexus 6, if that makes any difference.
Thanks
Just wanted to update. I eventually got my Nexus 6 to multiboot with Android M preview, and tried it. With regular 2.4ghz I get the same issue, but when I switched to the 5ghz band, it worked perfectly.
I have no interference on any bands here, or anything that would cause it outside of the phone. So it's something to do with 2.4ghz, or the N6 specifically.
Just glad I got it working.

Bluetooth

Is it me or does Samsung always have Bluetooth connectivity issues? One of my biggest complaints is that It's always a hassle to connect via Bluetooth. I also own an iPhone and that sucker connects to Bluetooth seamlessly. Especially when connecting to my car.

I've owned the S3, Note 3, Note 5, Note 8, S9, and, now, the Note 10+, and I'd say I only remember some BT issues with one of the early Galaxy phones on that list. I can't remember which one, but they went away as I experimented with different ROMs. Eventually, I was happy enough with the OOTB OS and Samsung overlays that I just stopped flashing ROMs. I've certainly had no BT issues with the Note 8 or the Note 10+. (I didn't use the S9 long enough to have a strong opinion)
In my life, I have, off the top of my head, the following BT devices:
- several portable BT speakers
- 3 family cars
- 2 August Smart Locks
- 2 garage door openers
- a JBL Link 20
- an LG sound bar with BT
- thermostat
- refrigerator
- Nespresso
- several smart lights, switches, and dimmers
- a weird string of lights in my daughter's room
Many of those things only use BT momentarily, while setting up a WiFi connection, but they seemed to work perfectly with my Samsung phones, nonetheless. (I'll get back to you on whether I'm frying my brain and sterilizing my kids with all the wireless tech in my home)

I have used bluetooth devices since my sony ericsson days, the k700i, back in 2005, since there, I have had a lot of various bt gadgets, and, the most common issue is the difference in bt versions, and the implementation, commonly the phone has a higher version, and the gadget has a lower one, and there is where I have found some troubles, not always, but sometimes, at first, say, 2006, 2007, I always thought as you that the phone was somewhat the culprit, but as I have had more and more phones and gadgets, the pattern became evident

Hey there. I had the same issue amongst a few other things. My audio for phone calls wasn't working about 90% of the time. Took it in to a Sprint Service Center and not just one of their kiosk stores. They said it might have just been a bad load from the factory and wiped the phone and reloaded the factory software they had up to date and everything seems to be working flawlessly. Apparently this happened to a few of the handsets. So try to have it reloaded with the original software and not just a factory reset.

Hi, I don't think that's my case. This has been my history with the Note 8 & 9 and now with 10. I always have to manually connect and it takes me 3-6 tries before it connects. Sometimes it doesn't connect at all.
Not any connection issues whatsoever here with mine either..
