Just flash it with any custom recovery. I myself used twrp.
Happy miuing!..

Great job! Thx for sharing...

Interesting. A few noob questions if you don't mind.
Is this some sorta open source project?
Could this come up for non-Xiaomi devices?
Since the patchrom team broke up maybe this could act as some kinda replacement

there are several groups around that modify miui developer/stable roms such as multirom.me / miui pro / miui su etc.
They mostly alter chinese original miui roms -cleaning chinese bloatware, adding multilanguages, rooting etc.-
Mi-globe team made this thing automated. That's it.
They don't have any support for non-xiaomi devices.

this is so cool! thanks for sharing. i will try it out soon.

Mi-globe specifically is not an open source cause Xiaomi itself it´s not. This site only allows select a few mods, feature or app to be installed onto your device, build is just an euphemism.
Patchrom in the past was a good effort, I used miui in my old Samsung GN3, but I don´t mind that something similar happens in the future although this there are many devs porting miui for non-Xiaomi devices out there.

Mi-Globe is very nice, based on Xiaomi.eu ROM ! (The more you know)
Still waiting for them to update to the last China Stable for vince

been using it for a day. great rom. now my daily driver.

Will this work with OTA updates? I assume no?

[Discussion] Android 5.0 is up!

So android is up and released to AOSP! I am excited to get it on our device/ We have so many great devs and I m pretty sure we will be running a build with in a month or 2!
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/android-5-0-lollipop-source-complete/
Good luck devs!
I've been rocking a Galaxy S Advance till now which Samsung had left out of its support since android 4.1. But thanks to the efforts of developers on the XDA, I can Still rock a AOSP or PA 4.6 or CM11... the Redmi 1s has much more potential tha S Advance. I'm sure that all the prominent 1s developers will succeed to port Android L to this device.
I hope 1S will have CyanogenMod and Paranoid based on 5.0

me too....
that would be lovely..........but with xiaomi not releasing kernel sources , i doubt that we are getting android L
i dont think android l will boot up unless we have kernel sorces
without that android l will not run on redmi
SIII mini is getting it because of novafusion.pl . If we have devolopers like them we definitely had it

For making a lollipop port to Redmi is not necessary to have the kernel sources. You can make a build based on old kernel.
Wouldn't that make the kernel obsolete, making it harder to build a later version of Android that it was based from?
I'm waiting so eagerly
If they release cynogenmod 11 based on 5.0,it will be very nice.
So i am requesting the developers to release it quickly:good:

Request to release it quickly? Are you serious? Who the hell do you think you are? Do you think its easy to make a rom?
Android 5 yeah....wohooo....
But where the kernel Source?
I found nothing interested with building with prebuilt kernel [emoji19]
Not that i don't like our devs work...they are doing the best effort and we can make fully working ROM once after kernel source is available !
At the moment we're running the same "Engine" in all "vehicles" and don't make any difference for me.....!
I hope Xiaomi takes kernel source as main priority than updating their ROMs !

Nope. Before Redmi I have a Defy (which come with Froyo) at which Quarx dev has manage to adapt GB, JB, KK and now I am surely he will port Lollipop and that on the old 2.63 kernel.

Ya without kernel source only some developers are interested in RedMI 1s, Its really a huge huge drawback of Xiaomi phones. i don't why they are not realising source.
Look how advanced is the Defy dev (he is some sort of Houdini of android):

This rom is mix of many MT6795 AOSP rom created to provide fast and fluid experience of using it. With few changes of UI now it look like AOSP from google compiled from source
Features:
- Pure AOSP, no advanced power menu no battery percent and other things.
- Finally changed that ugly wifi usage icons now I think it looks much better( If someone know how to change dimension of this icon to make smaller gap please PM me )
- No bloatware, live wallpapers etc.
Not working:
-HDR for now. Working on it.
Screenies:
Install:
-flash the rom
-reboot
-flash gapps
Links:
-ROM
-GAPPS (ARM64,5.0,PICO)
Thanks to everyone who ever worked on 5.0.2 AOSP for MT6795 chipset
Could It be possible to build an 5.1 AOSP as all Cyanogenmod roms are? Also this rom looks clear!

Theoretically it's possible but without source code (we use prebuilt kernel and drivers) it's very hard thing to do.

It would be mich more better if you will build an 5.1.1 AOSP Rom in Cause of many better Features and Bugfixes!
But of course this Here is a very nice Rom!
Can you Change the Navigation Buttons to: recent, Home and Back. Its very Bad to Hold Long Home, so would be cool if you would get this!
Nice Job, thanks
?
I won't change it because i want to keep this rom as near as possible to AOSP and recent apps in aosp are under home button
Does it support for 4g in second sim?
It's similar to vova aosp so it should working
Can you change the feature of menu button work like a multitask button? Please

You can use MT6797 source code to build Android 6.0 (MRA58K).

MIUI on Android Pie is announced for Q4 2018. Apparently, there will be beta soon
Project treble GSI builds are available. Not flawless, but most things work when vendor fixes are applied.
Next week dude.
Latest China beta was the last based on Oreo so next one will have pie

Redmi note 8, which custom rom suits my usage

No Android 10 stable for redmi note 8 (miui 12 canceled), just a beta. Next stable release will be Android 11, no date is given.
I have a redmi note 8 running miui 11.0.12. Android 9.
I'm planning to root it. All the functions in miui are enough (I won't say no to more) except it's missing the night mode only available from Android 10 and above (some apps say night mode requires Android 10 or above).
So I am looking for a Rom running android 10 or above, stable (I reset my previous phone one time in 4 years), classic appearance (my wallpaper is black ), I'm not a gamer (have no time anymore), fast charging, long battery life, (I read a lot) and fan of photography.
I've read a lot of threads about custom roms last weeks and I'm still not sure which one suits my usage. (a comparative table of the different roms would be a good idea).
Could you please help find the one that is right for me. Should I just install the miui 12 beta release? Or something more convenient?
Thanks for your help.
MichaelMay said:
You could update it to MIUI12 which is available for all devices in all regions now or you could pick any ROM you'd like based on the features you like. The features are described in the OP for every one of them.
If you're going with a custom ROM I'd go with any Android 10 (Q) ROM out there, all of them will suit your needs, there isn't all that much of a difference between them either.
Personally I'm running Pixel Experience because I like not having everything and the kitchen sink to set up, it's clean android with the additions you'll find on any Google Pixel. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who is not going to compile it themselves because the maintainer isn't maintaining it and the unofficial isn't working properly either.
