Bootloop on every custom MIUI roms - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

Hi
i have tried to install all the custom MIUI roms available but non of them passed boot even after a system, data, cache, dalvik wipe
i even tried vendor i also removed password from the main rom (global beta) so that it can decrypt data normally
i tried installing firmware before flashing them i know it has its own fw but i tried to make it work
now i'm stuck i want to test them but i can't
i think formating data should help but i don't want to lose sdcard data
i also have the 128gb version if that makes a difference
please help me out

Decryption my Phone in a endless loop, need help !

ive installed firstly the latest S.Team S4 Rom also HTC 10 Base, but it ended with a assistant to decrypt my phone so ive done the steps.
have do a factory reset, and nothing has do, it asks again for decrypt my phone, so i tested with other Roms
the same problem was with Leedroid, Skydragon ROM. before i never have encrypted my phone
and i have latest firmware 3.12.401 international
latest hboot bootloader 3.19.xxx sense international bootloader
latest twrp 3.0.2-0 recovery
Let say it's a typo error, your firmware is 6.12.401 and not 3.12.401
In TWRP, select wipe - format data - yes - reboot recovery
then reinstall ROM zip
not worked for me, reinstalled many rom zips like wolla and S.Team Rom and rebooted many times
and it ask for decrypt
I'm having the same issue. is there anyway to get around this on a verizon phone.

ive got fixed but with only one i dont know if it works with other roms or othe rmodels
you must wipe data, system, cache and then reboot the recovery, install rom.zip (Wolla Sense worked, S.Team Rom not) and choose 'perform a ful wipe'
youre done !

Have you tried booting to recovery and wiping data from there?
Even on official ROM there should be a basic recovery available for wiping data
You won't be able to move to the Chinese ROM from global ROM with a locked bootloader as far as I know
Yes idid that its didnt help
Still the same

Is Xiaomi blocking my Phone from installing Custom Roms?

Hi,
I'm trying to install this Custom ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-mix-2/development/rom-havoc-os-t3883065
I've previously used the Custom ROM if xiaomi.eu.
Now that I'm trying to install an AOSP ROM it won't let me boot the system.
I've unbind my Mi Account and device from https://i.mi.com/ and unlocked bootloader in developer settings before wipe eveything and flash the havoc OS rom.
Is there something I'm missing? I've done that multiple times before with non-Xiaomi phones but never had such problems.
I tried to reinstall a xiaomi.eu ROM and it worked btw.
Is your bootloader really unlocked?

Strange. For me xiaomi.eu roms never worked for me. Have u tried flashing global stable 10.0.2.0 zip via TWRP first? Not the xiaomi.eu rom.
All you have to do is wipe system, caches, data, dalvik. Then flash havoc and gapps. Let it boot. Then reboot to recovery (before setting ur lockscreen password) and flash magisk if u want root
Format Data is required. Did you do that?
So what happened when u try to open ur mix2?
The mi screen forever? Or just black.
How come you have to keep doing Format Data after each update of any rom?

Is it possible to upgrade a GSI ROM without having to wipe data?

I've been using the G6 Play for about a week now, and first thing I did was to flash a custom ROM. It was complicated, but in the end I managed to do it. However, I'm having problems with the current ROM I'm using, Resurrection Remix (namely the lack of FM Radio, and the fact that it randomly reboots to recovery while I'm using Twitter specifically), so I was trying to upgrade my phone to what seems to be the next release of RR. However, I can't afford to lose my current data because I don't have enough storage space to run Titanium Backup, and most non-GSI ROMs that I know of can be upgraded without requiring the full wipe of data. What I've already tried is the following:
Delete the current System partition but NOT Data
Use Fastboot to flash the new ROM
Return to TWRP to fix the partition, then resize it
Reinstall OpenGApps
Reinstall the verity disabler (Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_08.18.2019)
Install Busybox
Install Magisk
Install Magisk-Props to avoid the "Google Play uncertified" error
Clear Dalvik and cache
Reboot
However, every time I do this with anything but the ROM I'm currently running, the system attempts to boot and after the boot logo appears for a few minutes, it reboots directly to TWRP. (Same thing happens to me at random while using the Twitter app specifically, for some reason!). My question is: is it absolutely necessary to wipe data in order to upgrade a GSI ROM from a version to the next? If so, what is the fastest way to restore all data, and should I invest on an external SD card?
I think it mostly depends on the rom you're using, some of them seem to be more sensitive than others. I know in the past I've been able to upgrade AOSP and Descendant successfully.

[Q] Decrypting data partition using TWRP?

Hello,
Previously I'm on Xiaomi.eu Stable 11.0.5 based on Android 9, did backup on system and other partition except data partition.
I updated to Xiaomi.eu Stable 11.01 based on Android 10. Flashing done without problem. After first boot, PIN code I used doesn't work to unlock the phone. (yes, i forgot to disable phone lock before updating)
Then I boot to twrp, it's prompt for decryption PIN, after decryption. I try to restore system partition, but it lead to bootloop.
I boot to TWRP again, but now it doesn't prompt for decryption PIN and my data partition still encrypted.
Is there any possiblity to decrypt it on TWRP so I can backup it to OTG drive before I clean Install it?
Or there are any other method to decrypt the files cause I can still access the files as MTP devices.
Thank you very much for your help
@underd0g, try to flash the ROM, of which data you want to restore, dirty before. This may make encrypt key availiable.
