What are the differences between the global version of China and the global version of Hong Kong?
Global model is only being released in the 6/128 Blue color.
If you want the higher spec and phantom silver color its only available in the Chinese model.

I have the phantom silver 8 GB 256 gig model it is the China version but it came when the play store pre-installed it gets all the regular updates and all I have to do is disable all the Chinese apps. It was kind of hard at first. But got everything figured out it works great on AT&t and T-Mobile in the US.
I see there are listings for the global ROM of this phone on AliExpress now. As far as I know the phone has not been released globally so has anyone got one of these to see if it is legitimate?

Where is the download link?
I live in USA. I'm thinking about buying back the mate 20X. If I get the L-29 version, will I be able to update to Emui 10 on it in USA? If I'm not able to, what are the steps to take to update it to 10?
The update will be pushed to the phone. Even if you live in the USA.

I called Huawei customer service a few days ago to inquire about the update. I was told that the United States is NOT getting EMUI 10...... EVER! I hope it's not true.

the way I made it was to get an SIM of China's Carrier on ebay or borrow one from your friend. Swap the SIM and check the update, the system will do OTA in a few minutes. Do turn off the data and use Wi-Fi. I guess the trick is Huawei's OS assumes your phone are now in China or other regions, so they will push the update to your phone directly. I successfully made it on three models, P30Pro, Mate 20x, and Mate 20x 5G.

Did you get the update directly from huawei OTA without any tweaks suggested on XDA?
It doesn't matter your location as much as what region build number you have. None of these are meant for USA market. Mine is C185 and I finally received Android 10 last night.

C185 = UAE. I am located in USA and bought this off of eBay. My understanding is UAE version was going to be one of the last to get the update.

I downloaded the HiSuite app from Huawei to my computer and clicked update to get Android 10 on my Mate 20X.

That didnt work either, it says that 9.0.0 with security patch dated May 5th 2019 is up to date.

to get this update I contacted Huawei, it says:
the deployment for the model of the Mate 20 X in 4G model has been completed since 15/01/2020.
The very friendly person offered to:

C185 evr-L29 model (middle east) updated to 10 from France too

Same here. I just received the update yesterday.
I read some monthes ago that middle east model aka c185 were to be updated to March 2020, so that's it.
No problem so far, everything migrated OK including desktop software Nova and even Ubikitouch (gesture replacement).
Great job Huawei.
9.0 was running perfect so I hope it will be the same for 10.0

Yes, I read that in EU it may be available either as Moto Edge 30 Ultra or Moto Edge 30 Pro. Indian release is said to happen on 19th of February, maybe we'll get more info after that.
