Verizon G4 Lacking MANY LTE BANDS - NEED HELP!

Hello!
I am moving over to Asia and need to access band 28, band 3, and all the rest. It seems the verizon version lacks many of these bands that I will be needing. Does anybody know of any other phone that will work great overseas - I clearly need to flip this phone.
I looked into what I can unlock, and it's not going to work... this phone doesn't have band 28 and many of the bands used over in Asia.

There are only 4-5 bands on the G4, I believe bands 2, 4, 5, and 13. If you need a great world phone you need to get an international phone, or one that works on all carriers, such as the Nexus 5X, 6, 6P, Moto X Pure, or iPhone.

Or if you like the G4 then get the 815 or 818 variant that works over there.

Pretty sure the bands are there, they are just locked down by Verizon or LG.

These are the only bands available for the vzw LG G4 (2, 4, 5, & 13).

Where. Mine doesn't.

Where's 3 & 7? 2, 4, 5, & 13 are the only ones accessable from the phone. Any other bands are on the carriers side.

according to the specs in LG website 3&7 are supported while roaming

For the VS986? Everything I've found said the Verizon G4 only supports bands 2, 4, 5, and 13. This is common on carrier branded handsets, where they typically only include bands for their network.

Domestic and international LTE bands on the G5

Don't get your hopes up, fellow Sprint customers.
This phone is gearing up to be another LTE-limited Sprint-only type phone, similar to what they do with most of their other phones. I'm speculating based on the fact that there is currently an unlocked version of the phone listed at B&H:

Nowhere in the specs and description does it list anything about Sprint support and there's no indication that Sprint will even activate this phone. If for some reason Sprint does decide to activate this phone, it's missing LTE bands 26 and 41 which means you're stuck using band 25 only for LTE connections in the US.
I think it's reasonable to assume they will disable or leave off LTE band 7 and possibly 13 and 20 as they did with the recently released Samsung Galaxy S7.
This means the probable Sprint-only LG G5 might be partially crippled for worldwide LTE bands, assuming LTE band 7 is not included, but will mostly work with Sprint domestically.
As of right now, if you're looking for the most widely supported phones for international use that work with Sprint natively, which include LTE band 7, you're limited to Apple iPhone 6s, Motorola Moto X 2nd gen, and Nexus 5x/6p.
Edit 03/24/2016 - Phonescoop.com is reporting that LG is adding LTE bands 25, 26, and 41 to a base model but no report of getting rid of band 7.

Edit 03/25/2016 - Phonescoop updated its listing now saying LG got rid of LTE 1/2/5/7/20. So this will be yet another LTE crippled Sprint phone with only LTE bands 3 / 4 / 12 / 25 / 26 / 41

What I want to know is will the Sprint LG G5 have full use of Verizon's post/pre paid service if I chose to leave Sprint for Verizon in the future ???

Verizon uses LTE bands 2, 4 and 13. Sprint only included band 4. So while it's theoretically possible, there's no telling if all three bands are active on all Verizon LTE towers.

Don't count on it. Very unlikely.

UK version of HTC 10 Compatibility with US networks?

Hi
Quick question from a newbie. I am currently in the uk and would love to preorder the 10 but I can only get the UK version but I would like the US version. Are there any significant drawbacks? Would most likely use it on TMobile once I relocate to the US. I have seen earlier posts on frequencies and bands but I was hoping on a plain English response? Mostly interested in LTE of course. Thanks!

Gotta find out if the UK version of the phone supports US network bands/frequencies to see if it'll work properly with the network you're interested in. Software wise should be the same. The HTC UK site lists #WL SKU(America) under supported networks but it also says, "Network bands in regions may be different, depending on the mobile operator and your location."
I'm sure someone in here knows whether you only get support for one region based on where you order from or if you get support for all regions listed on the spec page. Unclear to me. US page only lists US bands though.

I dont think the EU/ASIA models have the US LTE bands.

Yes the main difference is the LTE bands. The US version has different bands to the UK version. Generally the UK uses band 8 for LTE, which the US version does not have. You would still be able to use the phone for texts, calls and even 3G access, but, you would not get LTE. Let us know, what service provider you are with, we can then see if the phone is comparable or not for you.

I don't have the phone yet obviously. I am on three UK now but once we relocate to the US I will most likely be signing up to TMobile. I thought some of the frequencies are the same? Different bands but frequency seems the same in the UK and US?
But to be honest after looking into it might be best to pick it up in the us for the warranty and the Uh Oh insurance.

From what I can see, Three supports band 3 for LTE. Looking at the US speck phone it says the following: 4G LTE (up to 450Mbps), FDD: Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 28, 29, 30, Support Cat 9 LTE, download up to 450 Mbps, upload up to 50 Mbps, so in theory it should work for you both here and in the US. I would double check with Three that their network is definitely band 3.

At the same time of posting here I had also emailed HTC support and they came back to me with a brief statement that it will work as the phone supports 'multiple frequencies'. This was not a highly technical reply but at least now I have it writing!
Your answer certainly puts my mind at ease and I have gone ahead and preordered!
Strangely I had no option to choose 32 or 64GB storage though and they took payment immediately rather than wait till shipping time. Does this mean it's on the way already?

I've been wondering about this, too, and I think the UK HTC 10 is not fully compatible with AT&T or T-Mobile networks in the US. From Droid-Life, the bands needed are:
AT&T LTE bands 2, 4, 12, 17
T-Mobile LTE bands 2, 4, 12
From Clove, the bands supported are:
FDD B1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 12, 20, 28, 32; TDD B38, 40, 41
As you can see, the UK version is missing bands 2 and 4, which are used by both US GSM carriers, and also 17, which is used by AT&T.
I've been looking at this because the UK HTC 10 is about the same price as the US one, but it comes with HD earbuds. Unfortunately, it looks like it's incompatible.

I also found HTC's international HTC 10 page, and it spells it out pretty clearly in the Network specs that the EMEA version of the HTC 10 is missing many bands from the American version If anyone has information to the contrary that would be great...

I have the International HTC 10 (m10H) and its working on AT&T LTE band 17. I haven't seen it connected to band 2 or 4 yet.

I'm using a UK version on Tmobile and it works fine the network.
My signal stays on 4g and I've only dropped to HSPA once, which is fine with me. Aside from that, text, calls, etc all work without issue.
If you're after the headphones, they're pretty nice though they're a bit bass heavy for my taste. They sound good though and the noise isolation is surprisingly good.

probably you can use con T-mo, but you can not use in AT/T. The asian version doesn´t work in any 4G in the US

OnePlus 3 - Sprint 3G and Service Bands

Here one person was able to enable band 20 on a OnePlus One. I was wondering if it is at all possible to enable bands 10 or 1 for Sprint 3G. Or better yet bands 25, 26, 41.
I was also wondering, if I were to attempt this is there a risk of ruining the phone?

I recall band 20 was unable to be activated on the OPO as the device simply was not provisioned with a radio for that band.
Modding will not overcome hardware deficiencies.
Is Sprint a CDMA carrier? OnePlus do not support CDMA at all as the US is the only significant country using that outdated technology.

I do not think so.
First, I am assuming you have the international OPO. Go to willmyphonework.net and see for yourself; your phone is totally incompatible with Sprint. Even 2G bands are not available under its standard configuration.
At this stage you have two choices, return the phone for exchange/sell it or try and edit the hardware settings to make more bands available.
If you bought it new I would just return it rather than modifying the hardware setup.
If you want to tinker with it, you need to start here and also here and see will they unlock the bands you need.
Basically, follow the guides exactly and tick every radio band that appears in the programme and hopefully the bands for Sprint is among those available for your hardware.

I believe you need the right. Qcn from the model phone with the supported bands you want for this guide. With respect to the oneplus 3.

G7 Thinq won't connect to LTE on T-mobile...help

I just got a brand new international version of the G7 Thinq, it is the international version, with 128gb and 6gb ram.
I'm able to connect to T-mobile and make calls etc, but it won't connect to LTE even though I've been using LTE for years in my area with no issue on old phone.
T-Mobile support was not able to help me.
The highest it connects is 4g
I really do not want to return this phone to the seller, but I don't want to settle for a phone that can't connect to LTE like my old one.
Willing to try anything...any ideas?

Do you have this phone and live in a LTE area? My old phone actually said "LTE" for the signal when it connected with LTE, are you saying this model phone does not actually say "LTE" on the signal bar?
Can anyone confirm that this phone says "LTE" at the top with an LTE signal?

I have this phone and I'm aware of that.
4G *IS* LTE.
You need to google what LTE is.
occasionally you will see 4G+ (downloading).

I just googled it and I've read 3 sites so far that says they are not the same.....

I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just used to my phone displaying LTE and if you are saying this model does NOT display LTE, and displays a "4G" instead, then that answers my question. Some sites even say HSPA+ is 4g, and I know that is different than LTE.

On tmobile he is correct 4g is hspa+.. My g7 says 4g lte when on lte.. Did you do a network reset? Or call tmobile and ask then to redo your phone activation to make sure you register on there network right.. Maybe need a newer sim?

It's possible that the APN settings may need to be tweaked. I'd start there.

Mine says 4G+. Figured that was LTE.

I've called T-Mobile, had them do a restart, had them check APN, etc.
I'm using the same sim as my old phone that gets LTE just fine, so it's not that.
I'm thinking something about this international version maybe doesn't support one of the bands or frequencies that T-Mobile uses in Chicago (even though it says it supports GSM worldwide)
I'm probably going to send it back as my 3 year old Motorola phone gets a higher tested download speed on a speed test than this new one without LTE. Just wanted to check if anyone else had the issue. Thanks

T-Mobile uses LTE bands 2, 4, 12, 66, 71, while the G710EAW, which I assume is the model you've bought, supports bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 28, 38, 39, 40, 41 - so none of the TMob LTE bands.
There are six variants of the G7, G710EAW is aimed at Asia/Oceania and together with the G710EMW (64GB/8GB single-sim version of your variant) the only one that doesn't support at least two of the TMob LTE bands.

This is what I was afraid of. But I specifically purchased this model because it had the 128gb, the extra 2gb RAM, and dual-sim....I'll have to research if this is available in one of the models you mentioned but so far I've only seen the 64gb with single sim so I guess I'll have to find a new model. Thanks for the info.

Who told you this?
I have the G710EAW and it most CERTAINLY supports bands 2 and 4.
It's even labeled DIRECTLY on the box itself.
Don't get your information from the LG website. The site only shows which bands are used IN THAT REGION, not what is supported by hardware.

Don't believe everything you hear on the internet. Bands 2 and 4 are supported.
These are the bands supported by the G710EAW.
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900
WCDMA: 850/900/1700/1800/1900/2100
TD-SCDMA: 1900/2000
LTE: B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B12/B13/B17/B20/B28/B38/B39/B40/B41
If a band is NOT supported, trying to select it will show "FAIL" in the engineering menu.
Example: band 25 is shown, but not supported. This will show FAIL.
It was the international LG G6 which had problems with T-mobile, as Band 2 was not supported (shown in service menu, if you select it it shows 'FAIL'.)
I sold one of these phones (I had 2) to a T-mobile user and he's happy.

I have also the 128 GB lg g7 eaw version. My phone shows 4g also. The speed test i have done is 60mbps both up and down and i am ok with that.
What is the diffrence between 4g and 4g lte? Should it display lte?

P. S. My operator is having lte in band 1 and 38 and are supported by the phone. Also band 2 and 4 are available and both connected with succes...

My G710EAW shows 4G+. Uaing Net10 on band 2 which uses tmobile's servers. I think each and every person here needs to stop crying wolf. Seriously.
If the US version shows LTE and the international version shows 4G+ I mean who cares if its the same damn thing?

The information is from gsmarena. They have been spot on with this kind of information the last times I checked. However, it seems like they're off with the G7. I just compared my variant with their information and it's off as well. Thanks for catching this!
So in that case I can only think of one reason why the OPs phone would not connect to TMobile 4G: the network in your area is using bands that are not supported by your G7. However, this is quite unlikely, since these would be 66/71. From what I read, they have only been introduced in 2017.
