Sold my 128GB Pixel XL, got Oneplus 6 - bluetooth problems fixed. Advice, get rid now - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

So, I can now use my beautiful Huawei Watch again. Oneplus 6 doesn't have the BT bug, which I also knew Samsung fixed a while back.
Google needs to really fire their BT programmers.
Bug riddled software, be gone!

This is the watch, check it out:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-watch/accessories/nice-shiny-band-t3454187

hmmm, duplicate post?

Yep Pixel's are just Beta test for OEM's lol

Been using an OG Pixel XL since like a month after they launched and never had a single issue with Bluetooth. My Pebble used to disconnect from my Nexus 6 constantly, never on my Pixel XL and my Ticwatch E works flawlessly too.
Also, what does Samsung have to do with OnePlus..?

I have been happy with every flagship phone I owned since 2009. I also had a Note 7, which was an exceptional phone, aside from the sabotage that ended its life. Pixel XL has been the only crap flagship I owned, which I got to replace the Note 7. OP6 is a breath of fresh air compared to that Google garbage of bug nightmare.
But that's just my take on it, and why would I brag about bugs in the OP6 forum? Bugs belong where they originate, the bug swamp. Welcome to the party, and good-bye.

Good Lord you whine like a baby giraffe. I mean they probably whine. I have no first have knowledge. Let's assume. Anyway man, you're not adding anything to the forums here you're just complaining. I suggest you pack your bags and head on over to the forum of the phone you have and stop trolling. And I'm only suggesting out of love. Your father would've wanted it this way.

Anyone Regret Buying This?

As the title asks, anyone regret buying this phone? I will be ordering mine shortly, but I have seen a few issues, like aluminium coating peeling off, purple tint in camera photos, back glass part being awfully scratch prone etc., so got me thinking a bit. Who are already using it, does it feel like worth the most expensive Android phone on the market?
I've been nothing but pleased with it. I always keep my phones in a case. I was really happy with my Nexus 6P and this phone has been the next logical step from that. Haven't once been disappointed by it.
No regrets so far after 2 weeks. Normally I've been the type that goes back to iOS after I play with Android quite a bit, but in my opinion, Google has achieved the stability of iOS on this phone. The only thing I miss is iMessage but it's really not that huge of a deal.
I just don't like the size. When i go back and hold my Axon 7, it feels tiny in comparison!
Thanks guys. So 100% positive feedback then. The main two reasons I am considering this are the software experience and the camera, while former is the main thing. Just having a mental cancer using these Samsung phones for long term. I have been told Pixel has THE BEST Android experience so far, I just wanted to know whether that's true or not.
Thanks once again for commenting guys.

I had a DE Note 4 since they were released and loved that phone. I recently got the Pixel XL (128gb) and actually like it better than my Note which says a lot.
I do but i think my problems are more N related. Also the assistant can't do things Google Now can which makes no sense.

I'm curious as to what things work with Google Now but not with the Assistant.
Assistant can't read you your text messages is the biggest one for me. Can't start stopwatch or do lists in Keep. Just does one list. There might be more but that's what I can think of right now.

Agreed. I have no problem with the dimensions and while many knocked it, I'm finding myself indifferent to the design language of the Pixel.
The phone runs like a dream. Unfortunately in my experience, Assistant does not. It really should be able to do some of the more basic things but to hold me over I've been using IFTT to somewhat offset it's limited functionality.

Also the Bluetooth problem with GM products drives me nuts. Google takes too long to fix things. I believe Apple would have fixed that already. If it's not fixed on this next update I'm going to try really hard to return it. Doubt they will since I'm past my 15 days. I almost returned it everyday. The phone is good just too many bugs. Some were there in the previews and were never fixed. Fix those couple things and this is the best phone IMO.

I was at first a little put off by the camera. I had a note 7 for like a week before the Pixel (The nexus 6p was my daily driver until I got the note 7). I really liked the Note 7 as well. Specifically the camera. And the Pixel XL camera seemed worse at first... Then I opened the pictures on my desktop. The Pixel XL was noticeably better. The screen on the Note 7 just made them seem better due to the super high color saturation, The pixel screen is much more true and neutral. Didn't mention it earlier.
It is in fact the best Google software experience I've had to date.
A solid no. I have had is a week now and I like more each day.

Yeah about that screen, well I really wish that they calibrated in even more naturally. In the sRGB mode even the phones like OnePlus 3 defeats it, in grayscale accuracy I mean, that's the thing I don't like, its still a device which can't defeat other flagship phones like S7, iPhone 7 etc., it should have been calibrated better. I HATE over saturation of any sorts.
PS: Decision is made, buying it, just now need to decide which one. God these bezels!
Thanks a lot for all your inputs guys, appreciate it.

Bugger screen yes, but not big enough considering bezels.. My opinion is that the htc 10 is more fun phone and if u r a flash junky u will be happier with the 10 cus there isnt really much u can play with on the pixel cus of its pure stock android.. Dunno what u want in a phone but the htc in terms of software will be like month or max two behind the pixel

So I've had my XL for nearly a month, and the jury is still out. I have a Mazda, and pretty much every other time I get in the car the phone will not stay connected to the car (and the car never recognizes the phone even when the phone says it is connected). There is a solution when this happens: turn off Bluetooth, turn it back on and then manually connect to the car. Then everything is fine.
Then there is the stutter-ringing. When someone NOT on my contact list calls for the first time, the phone rings for nearly a second, then acts like a hangup, then rings again, etc. until T-Mobile times out and sends the caller to voicemail. The call log shows 4-5 unanswered calls from that caller, and when it is stuttering, it is impossible to get the timing right and answer the call. Once the caller is in the call log, though, it works fine literally every time after that. Delete the call from the log, and it starts with that caller again. Does not do this with any contact or anyone in the call log.
Finally there is the weird times when the phone decides to lock even though it is connected to a trusted device, or is in a trusted location. Like 1-3 mornings per week when the phone decides sometime over night to make me re-enter my PIN even though it is connected to my watch AND at home, both with trust relationships. The rest of the week? No problem, no lock, business as usual.
The phone is great, it is fast and mostly works as expected. But there are just enough quirks to be seriously annoying. Plus this is supposed to be a consumer phone - I was more willing to be out there on the edge with my Nexus devices, but if I gave this to my Mom I would be on endless support calls. And I paid a premium price so the expectation is much higher.

Pixel Growing Old?

Ok so I don't know if I should have this discussion here or not but here it is.
How many are tired of their pixel I have a XL and Pixel both are unlocked and on stock they was originally on pure Nexus and at first I loved this phone but here lately I hardly even use my phone when I had my note 5 I always used it but idk if it's because I am getting older or what but I think I'm going to sell my pixels and move on to another device . Anyone else getting a lack of interest in the pixel?

The beautiful thing about the Pixel is that everything just works. I have an S8+ and don't really use it because it's just not a smooth experience. I also just got a OnePlus 5, and it's not really a match either (worse display & camera).

I think all you Pixel lovers are going to be in for a rude surprise when these start failing in large numbers like the Nexus 6P did. This phone is poorly engineered and runs way too hot internally. Unless Google has managed to reinvent the wheel high temperatures and electronic components have never been a good combination. The Pixel also has truly dreadful speakers. The 6P sounded so much better Google should really be ashamed. They're charging 300 dollars more for a device that runs much hotter than the 6P and which actually sounds worse than a garbage phone that my friend got for 30 dollars at the Cricket Store. I honestly think Pixel owners are in complete denial when it comes to this phone. Yeah the Pixel runs fast and smooth but the CPU gets so hot to achieve that performance that you'll probably have to buy a new Pixel every two years.
I have no problem with Pixel manufacturing or design, aside from the frame not being glued to the screen in the top right corner, which every Pixel device has, no idea why.
My problem with Pixel is that it is a dumb phone compared to something like Note or even Galaxy. All it does is browse the internet, that's it. It does browse very fast, but I could have gotten an iPhone if I wanted a fast dumb phone...
Not a bright OP really, stuttered to figure the English out anyway.
No, not tired of the phone, seven months old mine, and I love it. Best android phone I've ever owned, all I ever wanted was smooth android and Pixel is the first one fulfilling my need, so I'm gonna keep it for as long as I can unless I am really sold to the next iteration. Garbage UI like Samsung and LG's exists, making Pixel the so much better phone anyway.
Pardon the troll above mine, as always.
Lmao the fact people can't take a joke and differentiate between a joke and seriousness is sad.... my op was a serious question all of you who had to make a attempt at being funny ruined a real conversation. It's funny that's y'all was ok with being a prick till it got turned around on you. This is the internet so best not get offended over pettiness. I still stand by my op. It's sad you can't have a conversation these days without some smart as es who gotta ruin it for everyone.....
The pixel could have been alor better idc who you are but is my opinion you could have contributed to this post instead you had to try and be funny. As for the conversation it's still open is like to hear you thoughts

It's been announced. Doesn't have wireless charging I think but apart from that it's a pretty solid device ?
I thought they said they saw a coil of some sort in the translucent model.
They thought the coil was for wireless charging.
I'm a Google fanboy so my opinion is always going to be biased. I would personally go with the pixel 2. Vanilla Android, great hardware, monthly updates and hopefully a great development community.

Yes, what a bummer, and it is not coming to the US anyway. Seems like it could be a great phone...
I was considering a 2XL return for the 11+ but since I can't get it here that makes my decision easier. I've had 5 HTC phones in the past. Looks like a really solid phone I hope it sells well and they end up bringing it over here.
I'm biased towards software/security update speeds. That's honestly my only bias. Otherwise I was always a fan of the Sense UI and HTC Phone design.
I've had HTC Phones all the way from the HTC Evo on Sprint, all the way until the HTC M8. After the M8 i went to Nexus 6P and haven't looked back due to software upgrade/update speeds
HTC make great hardware but I'll never buy from that company again. I've been burned twice by promised updates then them dropping support completely from a device within a year.
Will the u11+ get much support for custom ROMs ? If so what about AOSP ROMs ?
Thanks

I would say treble would help. In the end it's expensive to keep updating phones hence why companies drop support so quickly. They lose money through all the testing and certifications and potentially lose a sale the next year (why buy a new phone when my current one is up to date). It's something rolled into the cost of Pixels that everyone forgets about. 3 years promised OS and monthly security updates is an expensive ass promise. You're not just paying for hardware.
I'm fortunate enough to be in the UK, but this announcement really threw me. I've got my 64GB Panda on preorder, but I'm seriously tempted to switch. There'd be no blue shift or potential screen issues, twice as much storage (and expandable by another 2TB), 2GB more RAM, IP68 and a camera that was only beaten by the Note and Pixel 2! All for £100 LESS than my preorder!
I'm actually struggling to find a reason NOT to cancel my preorder, except for HTC Sense and regular updates. Don't care about modding really, just want a phone that works!

Couldn't agree more. This device looks really great but I currently have the HTC 10 and here in Europe we only received one (security) update since February. Despite my phone having serious battery issues with android 7.0. Apart from that HTC sells the phone and then doesn't care about its customers. It's a shame because they really make great hardware, but at that price I also expect good software support. I am now waiting for my pixel XL 2 to arrive in mid November :fingers-crossed:
I am thinking of canceling the XL-2 order and get a U11+. The quality control of XL-2 seems a bit worrying.
There seems to be official bootloader unlock for U11+? If so, we can flash AOSP so there won't be difference with Pixel.
But I like the Google GPU and USB-PD on Pixel.
Why Google chose taimen but not muskie

'Upgrade' S8 to Pixel 2 now?

Had S8 since launch, so just under a year.
I really want a Pixel for stock Android, and the camera. Not sure if I should do it, or keep the S8 for another 8 months and see what the Pixel 3 is like.
Cons for getting the Pixel are the lack of wireless, headphone jack, Samsung screen and design.
Pros are stock Android, guaranteed, fast updates, better Assistant integration, that camera.
If I get the Pixel, I'd buy on contract. £38 for 2 years, 15GB data, unlimited texts and calls. That's £912.
I bought my S8 outright, and I have a separate plan. So £680 + £15 a month for a year is £860. And that's only for a year, and I get 1000 calls, unlimited texts and 6GB data. So in the long run the Pixel is a cheaper offering (while the offer is on) than me buying my phone's outright.
Is it worth me getting the Pixel or would I just keep a hold of my S8?

I plan on holding onto mine for at least the 3 years that Google has guaranteed support for. Since project treble makes it easy to run later builds of AOSP, I imagine there will be tons of community support after that time too. It's the perfect phone in my opinion. My only complaint is that there isn't anything that I want to change. No reason for me to tinker.

My S8+ was a Sammy phone after 4 years. The first thing I discovered was the awful dialer, when installing 40 app, lag showed up, had to do all sort of things to get Adhell running and disable bloatware...literally it was a 2 weeks project to at least satisfy my needs. At the beginning it had a bug in software, so it was barely usable for phone calls almost 2 months.
My only complaint is that there isn't anything that I want to change. No reason for me to tinker.

There's only one thing holding me back from ordering.
One, yeah I'll be committed for two years. Well unless I sell the phone and keep the contract running and then just buy a new phone, and also the fact there's the S9 out in two months and the Pixel 3 in 9.

There will always be a better phone just a few months away. That's the just the nature of the industry.

CES opened the door to all kinds of possibilities...
I'd at least wait for the S9 announcement.

Agreed.
And also wait to see if the exynos S9 has the same OEM unlock issue as the note 8. That will be a deciding factor for many of us I think.

I love my Pixel 2 XL, the camera + photo and video backup at original size for free for 3 years and you keep whatever you saved after + and updates for 3 years did it for me. The blueish tint on white from the sales doesn't bother. I never look at it from the side lol.
I thought I would miss some features from my Honor 8 or HTC 10 but this stock build is perfect for me. The camera though...... Damn it's nice lol

Pixel 2 XL still worth buying?

Hey guys just came across someone selling a brand new sealed clean IMEI number pixle 2 XL 128GB version for $700. I heard so much negativity about the screen burn in issues or blue tint on the screen but besides that nothing else so is a brand new sealed pixle 2 XL 128GB be worth buying? I need some options would any of you guys pull the trigger since you guys had lots of time with y'all pixle. Thanks in advance.

That's not a bad deal, if it were 600, I'd go for it if it's a Google version. I haven't had any of the issues you've read about, not that their not true, I just haven't had them, and I ordered it on release day. I'm enjoying the heck outa mine, fast, smooth, unlocked, rooted, themed, and romed up. Having said all that, it's mid March, and the P3 will probably come out in October. So unless your in dire need of a phone, I'd hold off until then. But that's just me :good:

Brand new!? That's a great deal! I would get it for that price. Maybe it "fell off the truck"? LOL.
Sounds to good to be true...but if legit, then go for it!
Just bought mine! it will be here tomorrow
I'd still recommend the Pixel 2 XL over any other smartphone right now in March 2018. It's not that old, it got released in mass to the public in November last year, and stock Android is so smooth and just a pleasure to use. I wouldn't take a Galaxy S9+ for free nor an iPhone X over my 2 XL.

I don't recommend a used/sealed resell pixel 2 xl. The warranty is only for the original owner. If the person bought the preferred that can be transferred but not the original. So if you need that phone replaced then the original owner would need to contact Google. Buy directly from Verizon or Google imo.

I bought my phone second hand and I called Google and provided them the IMEI number. The rep told me it's a clean 2XL and the standard 2 year warranty was transferred over to me :/

I truly hope so cause they've been denying people hard who bought 2xls second hand from what I've seen. And it's not supposed to transfer from owner to owner.

Mate for that price definitely buy it. If you can confirm it is sealed and under warranty it would be crazy not to buy it. The battery life and smoothness on this device is great. I got the note 8 thinking it would be smooth with 6GB ram and have good battery life. I returned the device in 2 days couldn't stand it. Got the pixel 2 XL and loving it.
I won't buy another samsung device for years to come. I had the S4, Note 5, S7 Edge and Note 8. All of them had lag and battery life issues.
However i had a sony xz premium for 8 months that always ran smooth with great battery life. Samsung in my opinion is not worth it. It looks beautiful wirh amazing display but performance is not there. The Google Pixel is a much better device overall.
I would happily recommend the Pixel 2 XL over any phone out there today.
The best screen I have ever seen on a phone is the sony xz premium. It was out of this world. Much better than samsung in my opinion.
However as a daily driver my Pixel is just king. From now.on I'm a Pixel user as I will upgrade to next pixel handset
Damn thanks for all you guys opinions seems like it's really worth buying then. I'll be meeting up with the seller later on today.
