LG G3 SMS Thread View issue

Hi, I have the LG G3 F400K (Korean Version) and I am having trouble in setting up the coversation view in my phone, you know when you get a text message and you read it and reply, all threads show up in 1 message,(this is how it used to be on my LG G2) and now when I am getting replies from the same person, it comes in as a brand new message, it doesn't show the complete thread of all the messages sent and received under 1 message.
I have gone into settings on the Standard SMS App but the only options is coversation theme, I am unable to change it to a threaded view all in 1?
How can I change this?
Thanks
Same issue here. Weird that it works like that. Maybe they think this is a feature.
I don't want to give it up as it is a pretty good message program, but if this cant be fixed I will have to use Handcent.

Thanks 30 Seconds, I was worried it was a fault with my device. I have also contacted LG Customer Care regarding it, they advised me to do a Hard Reset on it and it should fix it? But I am dubious at doing this as I have the Korean Version (F400K) and if I do this, it may set everything back to the Korean Language, then I will be totally up the creek....

MMS/PXT Picture quality suck

I bought a new LG G3 phone and ever since my picture messages are sent after being horribly compressed resulting in really poor quality. I've previously owned a htc one (m7) and currently also own a sony z ultra, none of my other phones have this problem.
I've run some tests on my sony and all the pictures I send get compressed to just under 300kb usually, however on the LG the pictures sent get compressed to around only 100kb.
I've also had a friend send me some picture mms's and they were all around ~270kb. I then saved these pictures and resent it back, the resent pictures were all around 100kb, with very noticeable worse quality.
Thinking this is hangouts causing the issue, I downloaded a third party messaging app which allows for file size adjusting of MMS messages, I set it to 300kb Max but the image still gets compressed to around 100kb.
PS: The G3's stock messaging app would not work after I restored my backup of messages, it would just always crash and hang the phone. So it forced me to use Google's hangouts as my default messaging app.
This is a killing blow for my new G3 to me and I'm on the verge of returning it.
I am missing an obvious solution? Or is there more to this problem? Any help is appreciated.
My messages send out at 1mb limit. What carrier and model do you have?

I Decompiled the LG messages.apk
In the xml folder there are mms settings for various operator's.
I would need you to check your apn settings. Go to settings then networks tab then tethering and networks then select access point names.
Click on it and tell me the MMC and MNC.
Like USA T-Mobile and AT&T have 1024kb limit. T-Mobile has WiFi calling enabled though.

I tested using the same sim card and APN settings, i'm on the Vodafone Australia network. My friend who sent me the test pictures is also on the same network.
Vodafone's MCC 505 MNC 03
Please note I'm not using the LG stock messaging app as it kept crashing and freezing after I restored my backup of messages from my old phone htc (m7) to it.
I'm Google's hangouts app and I've also tried EvolveSMS which lets you set maximum mms sizes but sill the G3 decides to compress everything to around 100kb.
I think there's a problem with the actual phone? :S

[Q] SMS says sending, fails - actually sends 100s of texts

Recently bought a brand new out of a sealed box LG G3 from Germany, but am using an Italian SIM. Been having real texting issues and quite often people call me but it hardly ever gets through (but unsure as to whether that's signal or my phone). Anyway, texting issue is definitely my phone's issue, as it will say that it is sending a text for ages and then say failed (and maybe after an extended period of time actually say sent) but in the meantime it's sending friends of mine hundreds of texts. I thought this might be an issue with the stock app, so I installed Textra yesterday, which I thought might solve it, but apparently not - as I've just had friends of mine complain!
Phone is not rooted. Any ideas for how to solve?
Are you using google hangouts?

No. I was using the normal SMS messaging app, but after discovering I had this problem I installed Textra, which seems to have rave reviews (from LG G3 users too), and used that instead. I could try using Google hangouts but I would be surprised if it made any difference if the problem was the same in both apps. I was wondering whether it could be some kind of configuration issue (given that it's intended for the German market and I'm using an Italian SIM card)...
Was asking because I'm having the same problem with hangouts when the sms are long and it looks like many people are facing the issue

And no one has found a solution?
I've been looking for days and haven't found any so far apart from using an alternative sms app but I'd like to stick to hangouts

All I can say is that with my own phone, alternative SMS apps don't work any better. I'm thinking that if I get time tomorrow I might have to root my phone and install a new ROM to see if that helps...
Network.
Yep, definitely a network issue. My Galaxy S5 and 4 both did that on EE. After hours of phone calls I switched to Three UK

[Q] Verizon 8.3 LTE on seprate line- standalone messaging ?

I just picked up the Verizon G Pad 8.3 4G LTE for the $19.99 deal and it was added on as a separate line (so really $260.00) with it's own phone number. I figured since it had it's own number, I would be able to send and receive texts on it, using that number - apparently not ?
I tried sending a text to that number, but the tablet never gets it, so I am taking for granted it isn't standalone text capable ? Figured it would be since it had it's own phone number
Sorry if it is a stupid question
Cant use it on it's own number.....but you can make calls on it with hangouts...just download the dialer..it also does texts. Verizons message + app will also send text.
I'm old and easily confused I guess. It can't use it's own number, but then you say with Verizon Messages it will text ? I'm guessing it will only text using the G3 phone number it is paired with and not it's own number then as I was using Verizon Messages ?
Sorry , I can be a bit dim at times

Yes don with the g3 number...the number associated with the tablet is just for billing purposes. Still useful to be able to text with the tablet though.
There isnt a sms messenger app available. Maybe try installing a 3rd party app?
You should still be ablr to usr the verizon wireless app to text (like amy other vdrizon phone)
When you do sync your tablet with phone to text on tablet every text you sent saved deleted is going to sync up on tablet its a pain in the ass lol
mighty text let's you send from tab through phone. also receive, both assuming your phone is on and had signal. also a Web instead from your computer. been using it for a long time

Group Messaging lag

Anyone else here tried group messaging in the stock messaging yet? I had a group messaging session with two other people and it cause the phone to slow down alot, almost the same type of slowdown you get when you install a bunch of apps on the background. Evey time I open the messaging app, send or receive a message the phone says converting to MMS...which seems irritating because obviously it's MMS for group messaging because I set it as so in the settings.
This has been my only negative experience with this phone.

You may want to give your model and carrier. I have the international model that does not have that option (to receive at least).

H810 here, I've noticed the stutter even without group messaging. I had 3-4 independent SMS's going, and the lag switching around was noticeable.
LG UX needs to be ironed out. :cyclops:

Yup. Sad about that coming from an at&t G3 so I had to use Textra for it. Which is fine because I feel it's faster than stock.

I may try another app if it irritates me enough, but I dont group text enough.
