nokia possible with OIS or EIS with google camera apk? - Nokia 6.1 (2018) Questions & Answers

if i will install google camera would be possible it will be having a ois or eis ?

In GCam HDR+ electronic stabilization is present in setting at least for Video (but I have don't tried it, only few minute to see if it was working on our 6.1)
OIS is not possible for sure because Nokia 6 2018 don't has it, it has only EIS so stock cam ot other cam apps can't support optical stabilization even in future app update.

MI6 Camera Quality

Hi Guys..
Camera quality of MI6 in outdoor photos is really good,
But in door photos there is lots of noise and sometime it looks like VGA camera,
If we enable camera api2 is there any chance we get better in door photos? I saw one thread here for Google camera but focus is not working so sad.
What you guys think in Oreo update we will get camera api2 officially?
Why this is not implemented during release time by Xiaomi strange?

Xiaomi doesn't want to rebuild their camera app to utilise camera 2 Api so they just turn it off.
If you enable it the miui camera stops working.
Google camera is good. It seems to be being developed slowly to work on most xiaomi devices by BSG.
So far on NisseCool's LOS 15 (cam 2 enabled as default) I have g cam working and HDR+ works if you toggle it off and back to "N6 HDR+ auto" in settings menu.
After closing though you have to go back to settings and turn it off and on again but it definitely is almost working.
Without HDR+ it's a very good camera anyway. Fast shooter.
Not sure if it actually offers any benefits over the MIUI camera though so you might be better off keeping the MIUI one for now and see if Oreo enables 2 api.

So I see everyone talking about the quality of video recording in GCam, HDR + etc. but I'm just curious how the rear camera portrait mode working in third party cameras and if it's working, is it actually utilizing both rear cameras?

No 3rd party camera can use the 2nd camera at the moment(doubt if they ever will), not even the modded GCam uses the depth sensor. It takes better portrait anyway using only one camera, better separation, though with a little less depth blur.

Does GCam requires camera 2 API? I heard that the stock camera crashes after enabling Camera 2 API.

The stock camera works fine after enabling camara2api. The problem is after enabling camera2 API, none of the cameras can focus during recording video, so that's an issue you'll have to deal with if you decide to enable it.
Still none of gcam mods which support for second depth camera?
I'm on RR so I can't use stock camera. It's not supporting

Camera app with video stabilization

Guys, can anyone please tell which camera app has 'video stabilization' feature? Or does our Z2 Plus support EIS? My Z2's ROM is AEX 5.7.
I m using GCam and Google Photos. I record videos normally and then go in Google Photos, select edit and there is the option for video stabilization. I saw that GCam has an option for EIS but it doesn t seem to work for me.
I've 3 versions of Google Cameras - Google Camera, Pixel2mod and Pixel3mod. Out of them only Pixel2mod has the video-stabilization check option but it doesn't work. And yes I too stabilize the videos using Google Photos. I'm not sure but I think the Google Camera (or whatever) in AEX 4.6 had video stabilization.

Once somebody ports the Gcam you can use it with limited capabilities(some features like Hdr etc may not work
Is it supports RAW capture? If you want to use camera2 api, there are a bunch of other apps on Google Play which can use camera2 api.
For example:
Camera ZOOM FX Premium ≡
Camera ZOOM FX - FREE ≡
Adobe Lightroom CC ≡
Manual Camera ≡
Google Camera ≡
AZ Camera ≡
Manual Cam ≡
Manual Cam Lite ≡
Camera FV-5 ≡

Does 64MP works in third-party apps?

Hi,
Before buying i'm wondering if you're ale to take 64MP pictures on third party apps? I'm most interested in Open Camera. If yes, does Open Camera allows to shoot 64 MP in RAW format? Could someone with phone check it ?
Its totally normal....stock camera is build for this sensor
Yes, but stock app dosn't support RAW, but phone support camera 2 API, so i'm wondering if you can take 64MP RAW pictures on third party apps ?
Only gcam have 16mp raw on main camera. All others camera applications have same problem with raw, on main camera. "Failed to start camera preview."
Snap Camera HDR also capture RAW 16mp and jpeg 64mp with main cam.
The advantage of GCam is that when it does HDR, does it in JPEG and RAW also. On a Snap cam, when we turn on RAW it no longer capture HDR even it shows that it is on.
Something interesting with a Snap Camera, unlike a stock camera, a Snap Camera can produce an HDR image with 64mp jpeg, like as GCam 6 with 64.xml profile on portrait mode.
