"G710V" is the model number.
I can't find any information on which variant this is. Google search only shows fcc filings and the device being approved for Russia or Europe.
Where and whom is this device sold to?

That is not the answer to my ? But ok.
I'll add. vMX=us Cellular ulm=unlocked pm=Sprint.
Every variant seems to be accounted for. The G710V is a ghost device.
I found fcc filing lte test reports for g710vm, but nothing for the g710v so I can't even figure out the bands.

Canadian Virgin Mobile. Virgin is bigger here then in the us, also the display model that I looked at had an unlocked bootloader which is interesting cus I thought only eu can be unlocked.

What do you have to support this claim?
From all my research, the g710v is a DEMO unit without a modem in it.
If you look for the old LG G6 model number "H870V" most information regard it as demo only retail mode phone.
Furthermore lg-g710AWM is the Canadian model number.

My cousin just bought one from Virgin Mobile here, the demo model also had the same model number but it did have a modem.

If this is true......im going to be pretty mad. The downloadable Virgin Mobile user guide for the G7 shows AWM model number.
The only thing I can find is that the g710v was fcc certified approved in South Korea and Russia. I don't understand why this model would be used by Virgin and certified in those locations.
I cant speak to LG Korea or Russia without email, so days delay on response. But I did LG UK Live chat and they said they thought it was a demo model. So guess the demo model part checks out.

LG G710V is the retail demo unit it has a modem (Snapdragon 845 is system on a chip) but no IMEI.
So can be flashed to have imei and calls?
I have the same model. Is it possible to flash this with a stock ROM of a different model? I want to use this for the other features other than call/sms but the retail mode settings is killing the experience.

Ok I have a TMobile lg g7 thinq and I keep seeing guides that say they work on the 710TM but not the TMobile g7.
Well my model number is the 710TM, I also see people saying that the 710TM is not TMobile but Tim eu network but when I go into hardware info I get the 710TM model number.
What am I missing here.?

If I'm not mistaken (got rid of the G7 an few months ago) TMobile variant is actually 710TMP not 710TM but it just shows 710TM

Possibly because we don't have TIM mobile in the states so we have 710TM but it's actually TMP honestly I'm not sure but the T-Mobile G7 is TMP

I am going to be getting one of these for my wife. We use Cricket (AT&T) currently. If we were to switch, it would likely be another AT&T MVNO, but we wouldn't rule out T-Mobile (or their MVNOs). CDMA (Verizon/Sprint) likely wouldn't be considered, so I don't need to get the XT-1952-4 version. I can save about $30 going for the XT1952-1 or XT1952-2. The question is...which one? What are the differences? Single/dual sim? Bands?

You will definitely want to go with the US model (XT1952-4), and not any of the international models. The US model has the necessary compatibility for US carriers, while the international models will not have those bands (for example, the US model supports T-Mobile's new 600MHz signal, which is not present on the international models). Additionally, international models will not have many carrier-specific features, such as VoLTE support and RCS, that you will only get with the US model.

If you are in the US purchase from a reputable retailer such as B&H that posts accurate info on phone models and capabilities while providing a solid return policy. Amazon, eBay, Walmart, etc are crap shoots...never really know what you're getting.

It's probably a model purchased from Sprint/a Sprint-related MVNO, and is locked to the Sprint network.

That is correct. I own a Boost Mobile (Sprint subsidiary) xt1952-4 which is locked to the Sprint network out of the box. The Sprint variant xt1952-4 is supported for bootloader unlocking via Motorola's official unlocking portal.

That's a great question. Traditionally, Sprint doesn't make it simple for its branded devices to gain network/SIM unlocking or full GSM support and operability. They resort to encryption embedded partitions to network lock their devices. For example, the Sprint compatible Moto E (2nd Gen) from 2015 has yet to be exploited for GSM support. But, the Moto E4 (xt1766) was recently exploited for GSM functionality (but only if the device was never upgraded beyond a certain firmware build). On the xt1952-4, I've yet to hear of anybody network unlocking it, but again I have not researched it much.
For anyone that's interested, as of today (12/6/19), eBay and direct from Motorola have the XT1952-4 fully unlocked (all network compatible model) on sale for $129. Don't know how long the sale will last.

If you want to root your phone, then you should steer clear of the T-Mobile variant. Till this day they still haven't unlocked the phones bootloader. You can buy any variant you want, just not the T-Mobile version.

Great info, thanks! For clarity, do you mean the ULM model? iirc it's the one with the T-Mobile bands; not sure of the ones for the Asian markets, but I'm pretty sure they don't have compatible radios for the U.S.
I'm actually going with the Samsung A70; mostly for screen size, partly because of my familiarity with Samsung devices—both good and bad. Unfortunately, it seems I'm passing on a great phone in the G7 ThinQ, but will be back if the A70 thing doesn't work out.

You can't, LG only allows limited number of specific models to be bootloader unlocked, see list here:

im on the same boat as to which version to buy and whats suitable for the UK carriers.
What is the difference between the ULM/TM versions as it seems these are the only ones on fleabay that i have an option to buy! Do we stay away from the both versions or can we buy the ULM?

That stinks, I'm on T-mobile and want VoLTE and VoWifi as options, and as I understand it these will only work on LGs with carrier branded firmware that supports it. I've heard some variants can be flashed to others. Can, say, a VZ or AT&T variant be flashed with T-mobile's firmware and work properly?

No not with t mobile firmware you would never want to do that. There is almost 100% some way to do it with root

What do you mean? Make volte and vowifi work with a different carrier firmware using root? I'm under the impression that's not possible, or at least it hasn't been with other phones.
I thought all Snapdragon processor used devices where u.s. version devices.and that all exynos processor devices where international devices.I want to buy a international device Samsung galaxy s20 plus that I can root and flash different roms and mods on too. Which International Version device would you buy if you wanted to place Round 2 mods onto is there any particular one or just any International device. Because all u.s. versions of the s20 plus cannot be rooted and romed correct. Thanks In advance!!!

There are some international devices with snapdragon sold in korea hongkong tiwan & china not only us and the have unlockable bootloader and can be rooted also

The International Snapdragon variants have a better SoC however being in Denmark you won't get some Carrier Features the Exynos variants offer, that's the trade off.

I have the Hong Kong variant on T-mobile. Advantages - Snapdragon SoC, no carrier bloatware, close to pure android, dual sims, unlocked bootloader, price ($745 on eBay). Disadvantages - Warranty repair would be difficult, no 5G yet or carrier aggregation. Highly recommend, my S8, S9 and S10, all Hong Kong variants, never had any problems whatsoever.

I was referring to the Hong Kong variant, diffierent than your device. I've read some users of the HK device are able to get 5G from US Carriers using SIM 2.

You should post a guide on how to unlock the bootloader on the US model. To my knowledge no one has been able to achieve this.

there is no guide.. also not my method.. i cant replicate it anyway since im pretty sure it involves tokens/servers

Not to me, I typically download large files on my laptop via WiFi then transfer them to my device. I'm a frequent flyer so I watch movies (torrents) which are typically 2GB. Not sure how long that would take to download on my device via T-mobile but it's not significantly faster than WiFi. When mmWave is widely avaliable Carrier Aggregation will be more valuable but right now High-band 5G is comparable to WiFi file transfer speeds. That's a small inconvenience compared to the benefits the device offers.
@varcor did you change the CSC to see if CA works ?
I'm assuming you're on TGY. I'm also in the USA and think changing to BRI might increase ca bands.

No, my CSC is TGY. I live in Mexico but use T-mobile since they offer free calls and data in collaboration with Mexico's largest telcom Telcel. Even when I'm in the US I don't have CA. I haven't gone to T-mobile to ask if they can configure CA but I doubt they can on the SM-G9860 or SM-G9880 regardless of the CSC. I use a laptop with Wifi for large downloads so it's not a priority. I do get Wifi Calling and VoLTE even in Mexico, YMMV depending on your service provider. Also I've read BRI has some issues so I'm not inclined to make the switch. This thread may give you further insight.

I was just curious to know if someone had changed their CSC to BRI and if it enabled CA.
I believe the first thing to be gathered is what bands are CA enable on the BRI CSC before even proceeding with anything else.
Also before flashing to attain CA I think one needs to compare tgy and bri CA combos.
Edit. Read that already, mainly non americans discussing attaining 5G on their respective countries.
i unlocked my bootloader yesterday and cannot for the life of me flash anything to my phone. im trying to get lineage on it and no atter what i try to do i recieve an error only official samsung binaries are alloweed to be flashed (recovery) if anyone knows what im doing wrong please assist .

Hello, I purchased a pixel 6 pro from ebay, the seller had it listed as Tmobile phone, I got a phone with model number G8VOU. From searching the net, the model number is supposed to have mmWave and thus it should be either ATT or Verizon. The seller listed it based on the warranty information on the google website. Is it possible that this model number is a Tmobile phone?
Yes,I bought mine direct from T-Mobile US & that is the model number. The model number is going to be the same, regardless of which US Carrier it originated from or, purchased direct from Google US or as an unlocked model from US retail outlets.
