What's working :
Everything.
Known Oreo Bugs :
TWRP can't backup or decrypt data encrypted on Oreo: no know workaround, one day TWRP will support it.
Can't swipe/draw the pattern in lockscreen : Screen lock pattern is set with the extra option of patterns "Directly show pattern view" and ambient display enable all at the same time, will bug ambient display for the wave or pick featuring of gestures, this doesn't bug when you received a notification, disable one or the other until the bug is fixed.
No SIM Card or no Cell Signal: Sometimes very rare bug this days, the device can finished the booting up process and have a no sim card or zero/null network signal level in status bar preventing from making/receive a call or anything related to SIM status be OK for use, Don't confuse this with a slow to be recognized SIM or network status so before try the fix wait a minute or two to see if the signal comes up. To fix: Go back to recovery and wipe Dalvik / Art Cache and Cache then reboot back to system, if this doesn't help try the "GPS / Radio" from #2 post.
"Odd looking" screenshots: if you enable Smart Pixels featuring in Settings > configurations > interface or any pixel filter related app this may happens. To fix: Disable the featuring

* Wipe of Dalvik Cache and Cache not demanding but may help with some random minor bug that show after a update
** Gapps not demanding the ROM works perfect without it but if you plan to use gapps you need to flash it on a clean install with the ROM, In a ROM updates a "dirty flash" if you already have gapps always flash gapps again with the ROM update
Additional ROM Features (apart from Resurrection Remix features) :
Kernel improves
Turbo Toast app, (app to display a Toast message informing the connection of Turbo Charger like Stock ROM "TurboPower connected")

Below are some of the helps and or workarounds for the most occurring problems.
GPS / Radio:
Changing/Updating the ROM may cause GPS lock problem, there is two separated help
option 1) Install "GPS Status & Toolbox" , open the app, slide the left option and open "Manage A-GPS state" click in Reset, after repete the process and now click in Download, close the app after receive the OK, wait a few seconds and try a gps lock using the same app, if that doesn't help try again after a reboot, if that doesn't help go to option 2 below
option 2) If the above doesn't help you can try to erase all the radio status
Erase the radio status also applies to the case you have No SIM Card or no Cell Signal level in status bar.
To erase the radio status is very simple just flash this zip "Clean_modem_status.zip" via TWRP no wipe is need, is also recommended to try option 1 after this if you flashed because of a GPS problem.
If after flashing the cleaner you find any problem related to lost of signal, re-try the flash of "Clean_modem_status.zip", if the problem persist, flash latest radio.img version via fastboot (aka "via bootloader")
Code:
mfastboot flash radio radio.img
find the radio.img inside the stock ROM xml.zip, some xml.zip and fastboot for windows can be found here (click here)
Random Power off or reboots?
To identify if the device random reboot or simply power it self off there is two ways.
1) If after the device goes black you can't power it up again without plunging the charger, then is because the battery is dead, even if yours battery had good % left before it shutdown yours battery is probably damage doesn't matter if the device/battery is new a battery can go bad simply by charging the device wrong, a wrong way to do it is let the device constantly go bellow 20% as low you let it get worse yours battery will be with time.
2)Check the boot reason prop "ro.boot.bootreason" if it is like the example bellow set to power_key_press the device didn't reboot it sled power off.
Code:
[ro.boot.bootreason]: [power_key_press]
Check the prop using :
Kernel Audiutor app > logs section > search in a log > mark getprop > search key word "reason".
If the Random power off are related to battery, BCL can help mitigate the problem.
BCL can be controlled via BHB27 kernel adiutor Power and battery section.
Lowering the BCL Max frequency or Making the number of hot unplugged core higher will help to mitigate the CPU power.
But if the problem persist is necessary to change the BCL low and high voltage threshold to higher values to make BCL to start sooner, the recommendation is to set they to 3700mV (Low) and 4000mV(High) and if the problem is resolved after that, the device stops randomly power it self off, lower the values 100mv it until you find a perfect value, or if the problem persist make the values 100mV higher.
Is also recommended to set the battery "Automatic power saver" from default 15% to a higher value, with is today max at 25%
If the device did just reboot just share a log as recommended on next post.
Bootloop to TWRP after a Factory Reset (Settings/System/Reset option/Factory reset):
This a Nougat and UP problem, it only happens if you are using a TWRP from the official site (with is not update to properly support Nougat and Up Android versions) or a old version of TWRP, to fix it just flash latest MOD TWRP version from the TWRP xda.
TWRP xda thread Click Here
Pictures access, view, sharing or related:
One thing that I notice regarding permission is if you have a app that access a folder that was created in older OS this app may be able to access this folder but not fully access the files like the below example.
You take a picture or a screenshot and can't see or share it with some apps, the simple fix is just erased/delete the folder with that problem for example the DCIM (camera folder) and or Pictures (Screenshot) folder under Main storage (or any folder were you face a picture or file access related problem), of course you can backup the files to another folders first using a file explorer that can see the files (maybe necessary one with ROOT access), then let the OS service recreate the folder, it will automatic recreates after you take a new picture or screenshot (or manually make the new folder if is a custom folder mane by you), test to see if the problematic app can see after.
USB OTG player:
On latest android version Nougat and above, to play anything from a USB OTG device is needed proper permission, that is not simple to give as the app must request it to be given, so to play anything from a USB driver find a app like this one
VVM XT1254 only
VVM app (VVM may only be accessible via play with the link, click here and chose open with play), VVM may not work correctly google has it on version is free and seems to work 100% Google voice, the in the ROM phone app also has a dedicated option for voice calls

Featuring request at this moment are not welcome, featuring will be add naturally through ROM updates, in 2019 after a lot of new featuring have be add if something really need is missing please report.
Bug report are welcome, make with in the most accurate description possible, do not spare words, screens and logs, a bug that I can't understand or reproduced I can't fix.
Always post a bug with @fgl27 and a log .zip generated by the app
BHB27 Kernel Adiutor > Logs > One click all Logs to a ZIP, even after a random reboot share a log
If is a Reboot/Power off related bug make the log as soon the device finishes boot up

Many thanks for your work! (p.s. still waiting for battery arrival, no update yet if you remember I promised).
Is there a custom kernel for Oreo?

Looks like the kernel is custom by bhb27 (he listed "kernel improves" in the additional features).
Thanks @bhb27 for this!

Well I'm going to download and install this on the morning to see how it does on my xt1254. Anyone else try it yet?
Sent from my DROID Turbo XT1254 using Tapatalk

The ROM is good and enough stable! The question:
1. I couldn't install Magisk Manager somehow. Is it not compatible yet?
2. Luckypatcher system services.jar patch is making bootloop. Is there a some secure setting in 8.1 about that?
Both apps are compatible with 8.1 by their changelog.

Security pattern doesn't work because of selinux I guess, don't try switch it on

No I will make a new one, the Nougat with all the custom featuring and the port for Oreo did't work.
I probably release a beta one in a week or two.
Let me know when you have news.

After having license issues with another app {on 7.x.x though), I had to uninstall the app, use a root browser (I use FX File manager) to go into /data/data or /system/data/data (I forgot which) and delete the folders associated with the app. Then reinstall it and all was good for me.

Seems like it's a known issue with the latest Play Store update. Flash this package (Play Store v10.6.30), clear data for the Play Store and try launching Poweramp again.

O-oh, nice! What a treat to try on my tablet
So, a couple of questions prior to installation
1) Right now I have an Android 5.1.1 stock pre-rooted firmware. If I install this - does it overwrite the recovery in the process or does it only touch the system and the kernel partitions? I wouldn't want to lose my XZDualRecovery setup with TWRP
2) by Video not working - do you mean the recording or playing a video? I.E. does it affect apps like Twitch and YouTube video playback?

1) first you need to unlock your boot loader but anyway you will lose xz dual recovery. Recovery will be overwritten and a complete New kernel is needed ( Linux kernel 3.1). The boot.img from aosp build includes this.
2) Sorry i mean video playback, but if you play Videos with MX player or vlc it will work correct if not you will have confuesed colours
Video recording will not work due the camera.
Hmm, okay. So I should be able to get TWRP back via NUT's kernel builder on his website
Another question - you said that optionally I can use the boot.img you linked in the Optional section (instead of the one that comes with the ROM) - does that mean that the ROM-included boot.img does not allow the device to be rooted? (due to SELinux, I suppose)

This could be possible that it work with his kernel builder i haven't test it
Edit: Kernel build with nuts builder is successfull but you won't have recovery. I tested it
Don't use the optinal boot.img. your device will not Boot. The first image is an old Boot.img Form kit kat which has recovery included. First flash the first image than Boot to recovery than flash Boot.img from rom again
No the kernel supports root but the Problem is that you don't have a recovery. You need it to flash super su.
hey @rcstar6696, Installed the ROM just a few moments ago. Enjoying it so far! Some feedback:
1) The installation went through very smoothly, like I have a Nexus device
The "Flash ROM -> flash KK kernel -> Flash SuperuSU -> Flash MM kernel" went okay as well, no issues, just a little extra step to gain root until we have XZDR for Android 6.0
2) The ROM booted up SUPER FAST for the first time. Sony's firmware usually takes at least 2-3 minutes to boot up fully from a shutdown state, while this ROM booted up in less than like 30 seconds. Very refreshing to see such short booting times!
3) The backup restoration process seemed to not have gone through fully. Only about half of the apps I had were restored. Not really much of an issue, just a personal observation
Also after confirming what apps I wanted to restore, the setup wizard stayed at the "Please wait..." screen, so I had to manually quit to the homescreen via the Home button. Seems like a bug to me? Or maybe it's the built-in GAPPS that's the issue (haven't tried flashing a GAPS package manually though)
4) The system seems to not recognize my SIM-card for some reason. It just tells me "No SIM card installed", which is weird considering that the ROM is for the LTE version. Tried turning on and off the Airplane mode to reset the modem - no result. Tried rebooting the device - also n result.
Maybe try to look at Sony's official binaries for Tab Z2? http://developer.sonymobile.com/downloads/tool/software-binaries-for-aosp-m-android-6-0/
5) Like you said, the video playback is all green/purple artifacted. Wonder if it's the drivers/libraries issue, as I have a Marshmallow based ROM on my Nexus 4 and it doesn't seem to have such issues. Too bad, but hopefully this can be fixed in the future builds! (as I often watch YouTube videos). Any app that uses it's own internal player seems to work fine, though, such as Twitch
6) The multiwindow... kinda works. If you have two apps side by side - seems to function well. Anything beyond that - turns the screen into a mess. Dunno if it's because of the ROM itself or because of the feature, but at least it's kinda available here. Besides, can't really complain about an unfinished feature
Also, the Play Store app looks pretty awful using the Multiwindow, maybe it's not adapted accordingly by Google
7) The sound in this ROM is SUPER LOUD. It's nowhere near this level of volume on the stock ROM. I dunno if the audio balancing is wrong here or if it's supposed to be this way, but it's definitely at least twice as loud as official Sony's 5.1.1 firmware
8) Merging the SD card with the internal storage of the tablet went fine, and I seemed to have no issues transferring the data
9) Minor things:
- The "About this tablet" screen still says "Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet WiFi" despite flashing the ROM on the LTE version
- The text in Bluetooth screen when it's off seems to be aligned to the left, looks weird
10) The SuperSU works fine, apps have no issues requesting permissions nor does SuperSU have any issues granting said permissions to the apps on its own
And I that's it. If anything else surfaces - I'll let you know
Thanks for continuing to build 6.0 AOSP roms for castor_windy ! My computer died so I can't compile anymore atm, I'm glad someone else is doing it !

Excellent, pulling now, will report anything interesting found. Is there anything in particular you want battle tested?
NOTE: Mega is pretty slow atm, so it may take awhile..160k over vpn on a 350Mb connection. AFH for future updates maybe? 2hr download to get the 1.2gb file. If not maybe consider zipping up the sparse image files to cut the upload/download times.
Do you think this can work on a z3 tablet? according to gsmarena they have kind of the same specs: same resolution, same cpu (MSM8974AB), 3gb ram, even the cameras (8.1 and 2.2mpx)

Link to flashable zip https://mega.nz/#!LdBzHaQC!uiZIrU-eoI3Lriczk_em2vCXNNZVQ-tX17kcw5F7LWQ
This package includes older sensor moduls and some files but this will fix light sensor
Next build will include the patch but for now use the fix.
Installation is like super su or root
Flash old kernel
Reboot to recovery
Flash lightsensor fix.zip
Reboot to bootloader
Flash M-Kernel ( boot.im)
Reboot and enjoy
Have you noticed the battery drain during deep sleep ? It's called Miscellaneous in the battery stats, I wonder what it could be ?

This ROM has safetynet verification Support of course when ROOT is disabled:
I develop a simple app to disable and enable SU at will, after disabling SU the user can pass safety net verification without having to remove SU.
I call it iSu XDA thread Click here
It works today only with CM 13 building SU binary it is present in almost all CM Base ROM.
Warning! There is a small implementation that need to be done to the kernel to have this working 100% the app will work on any device running CM base ROM but may loose ROOT support after a reboot if running without my kernel MOD.

I port this help from my 5.x.x thread some things here may not be the same, I will update this with time
Etc App.
Motorola Apps:
I have included on the ROM the motorola-specific play store props and permissions allowing the user to install Moto apps via Playstore…
here the list:
Be Aware some app will not work
I have not tested Gallery because it conflict with theme app (please use another gallery app like QuickPick It gets integrated by camera app just like the default gallery.
Moto email, it install but doesn't let use the app.
Moto voice, it just not install.
All the rest available Moto app seems to be working.
Be aware I will try to fix this app on the future but i don't give any prediction of when, this is not my priority this is a CyanogemMod base ROM not a Motorola or google , any user can use google and search a way to fix this problem, if any one do let me know I will check and made the change so every one can have all available apps working.
My personal Wallpaper folder, to personalized you ROM it contains all most 1000 pics.
BLOATWARE remove List-Script for all Quark
Check my BLOATWARE remove thread to know what app is safe to remove from custom ROM and or stock, for custo I have made a script.

Help:
Device specific bugs:
Below is more a general help then a device bugs because most users will not ever be notice any of this problem reported, so if encounter any problem try to read it all before reporting, if find any new bug or solution please report.
CM12.1/13 Bugs:
- This may have the same bug of CM12.1 or CM13.0 because this share a lot of source's, (if any one found a CM bug please report so i can check, because I may not keep track of reports there), some bugs of CM I have already fix but they may not be fix on CM, so do not expect to find every bug here, and if you are in doubt if one particular bug exist here, ask me I will check...
USB otg and MTP
USB otg and MTP change on Marshmallow if you are new at this please read before post.
After connect to your pc a notification will appear pull down the notification click on it and chose MTP
USB Otg can be read by any file app, but you must find it... It new location is in the root of the device in /mnt/media_rw
My advice is just to make a desktop shortcut from es file explorer to that folder... this way you can put that on a folder or any place of the desktop of the device and access quickly when is need.
Set selinux to permissive
Selinux is the police of the android it will block any service that is not know or allow (of course if the service/app has super su access it will not occur but some times do)
So by default it comes enable (enforcing), if you have a problem with some app service you may try set it to permissive to test.
Selinux can be change via kernel auditor plugin, or via settings>configurations>Miscellaneous.
Led:
-LPThemer Xposed module if enable the option (Enable Notification text color) under Status bar, the led doesn't work. May exist other modules or app that conflict with led notification...
DPI change
- The device will auto reboot when change the DPI that is not a bug.
Radio image
TWRP Flash zip of Moto SOAK XT1225 Radio images.
CM dev share all stock Radio image on CM thread but those need to be flash via bootloader.
GPS OR RADIO related problem:
Changing the ROM may cause GPS lock problem..
To solve is necessary to erase the radio status, that can be achieved via this zip "Clean_modem_status.zip" flash it via TWRP no wipe is need.
If find any problem related lost signal after, re-try the flash of "Clean_modem_status.zip", if the problem persist, flash latest radio.img version fia fastboot (aka via bootloader)
Code:
mfastboot flash radio radio.img
find the radio.img inside the stock ROM xml.zip, some xml.zip and fastboot for windows can be found here (click here)
Gestures/Ambient display:
- Pulse notifications, Wave and Pick-up, work very well, but is necessary to turn it off and on after 1° installation of RR, go to settings>Gestures> un-check and check to enable.
Random FC
- If encounter any FC, before make a report, try to clear data of the FC app, if that doesn't work, try to uninstall/install the app, and if that doesn't help try a clean install of the ROM if you didn't clean install the last update the ROM.
This is old and doesnot happens anymore on RR but I leave for the purpose of consulting.
On screen Navigation bar:
- After first boot you may see on screen navigation buttons, to remove it Settings>configurations>Buttons> un-check Navigation bar buttons....
Web Whatsapp CM bug Fix by CM dev.
Web Whatsapp works but if you try to loging the first time the image may be interlaced, that doesn't block you from loging, just place the device on the front of the screen at the same height of the QR and it will login.
Is possible to set the DPI to 480 ant this bug will not occur at that DPI.
Video apps Netflix HBO etc.
I'm particularly don't have this bug have teste youtube and netflix is all good, but was reported that this apps may not work for one user, the the fix is change a build.prop line:
persist.hwc.mdpcomp.enable
# GLES doesn't support secure display, to allow google play movies netflix
# and other apps that require a secure display we need to enable this
# but this cause screen fragments and glitch , this is a odd bug may not occur always, so is disabled by default
# to enable this change the false to true on the below line in the build.prop and to prevent screen bugs enable
# Disable HW overlays on developer options to not have glitch on the screen
persist.hwc.mdpcomp.enable=false
Waze motogeogence bug
If you use Waze GPS Social, Map... to not have problems is need to freeze a app before run the Waze app, the app to freeze is, MotGeoFenceSvc app or com.motorola.motogeogencesvc 1.0.1 (it has two names) in setting app you can't disable this app, to do that is need to use a root app like titanium backup or similar, or you can just remove the apk folder using a root browser remove the folder system/app/MotGeoFenceSvc.

I managed to install. But my Moto 360 does not connect!
It will be a bug?
I installed it and used it for a few minutes before going back to L.
It's a good first test build but I noticed several bugs and things missing such as the Hardware buttons options.

Only thing I'm noticing that's gone regarding the hardware keys is the ability to change the backlight settings. Other than that, I haven't had any issues so far.

Please read the help thread before you point out issues here. It has been created specifically to help new users to adapt to custom roms easier. Before you post your issue, please check if it has already been reported and if a fix has already been mentioned.
When you post a bug or mention an issue, it is assumed that you are running no additional mods that could cause that bug/issue. If you have made any additional changes, you need to mention that when you mention the bug/issue, else it confuses all users and I waste time looking to a bug that doesn't even exist. (1,2,3) is a classic example of this.
I have given in to frequent complaints of volume being too low on this rom and have restored it to the values found in other roms. That said, I will be in no way responsible if you hurt your ears as a result of the high volume. You have been warned.
Plus users take note. You need to be running an N modem to fix fingerprint issues.
Reliance Jio users, take note. Jio needs mobile data to work. If you change mobile data to a different sim in a dual sim environment, Jio sim will deactivate itself. Its not a bug.
Use Cameringo or builtin snap camera to record video. Video recording with Moto camera doesn't work. HTC camera seems to work the best.

Known issues
App restore using hypershell in Titanium backup doesn't work. Data restore works. Works from v4.14.
Reporting Bugs
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. The following is a useful format to follow.
Code:
What is your--
Radio (baseband):
ROM version:
Gapps version:
Did you--
wipe:
restore with titanium backup:
reboot after having the issue:
Are you using--
a task killer:
a non-stock kernel:
LOSSettings/Performance settings (other than stock):
Dual SIM:
other modifications:
Provide any additional information (observations/frequency of problem/last version it worked on/etc) as needed:
Custom Splash Screen
If you need a custom splash screen with Invicta logo, check this post. Thanks to
@1chrome for the initiative.
Useful information
Some users have reported that they are unable to share screenshots/images from the gallery or filemanager. Though I personally have not come across this issue, if you do have this issue, have a look here for a possible fix.
Please make sure that your DPI under Settings->Display->Display Size is set to default, else motorola camera doesn't seem to work. Users of model xt1622 who have reported camera issues also check if you have made any changes to your dpi. Thanks to @zeomal for pointing this out.
For app sharing applications like xender, shareit etc.. to work, you need to disable mobile data. Check this post.

WAKEBLOCK
From v4.4, Invicta will have wakeblock built into the rom.
You can find all relevant information about the feature from this thread. Make sure to READ through the comments and the OP.
All credits to @GioBozza and his team for the mod.
This mod requires the wakeblock app to the installed from playstore. The author has given permission to add the app to the rom if required, but I have decided against it. You can download it from this link. You need to become a beta tester first before you can install the app.
Make sane decisions when you decide to block wakelocks. Blocking the wrong ones may cause more harm than good. You can find more information about wakelocks here.
MicroG - Not for those who want the easy way out...
What is microg
Microg is a free re-implementation of Google’s proprietary Android user space apps and libraries. In layman terms, it replaces the need to flash gapps. For more details visit the official site.
Sources
https://github.com/microg
Downloads
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-nanomod-5-0-20170405-microg-t3584928
The zip file contains the following files.
Fdroid
Google playstore
Google contacts & calendar sync apk's
Do not install playstore as a user app. It will not work. Playstore has to be in /system/priv-app for this to work.
How do I install this?
March 23rd build will be the first release with support for microg. Fresh flash is a must. Don't even ask if it will work dirty flashing over a rom with gapps. It won't. If you choose not to use microG, you can dirty flash over the previous build.
First build
Download rom from the link in the OP.
Download microg apps from the link above.
Wipe system/cache/data
Flash rom followed by microg apps
Reboot.
Download and install the following apps from the links below.
microG Services Core : here
microG Services Framework Proxy : here
Apple UnifiedNlp Backend : here
MozillaNlpBackend : here
NominatimNlpBackend : here
The last 3 can also be downloaded using the fdroid app.
Updates
Flash rom followed by microg apps without wipe.
How do I set this up?
Go to Settings->Additional Features->Miscellaneous Settings and activate signature spoofing. See screenshot.
Go to Settings->Apps->(Gear Icon)->App permissions->Spoof package signatures and activate spoofing for microG Services Core. See screenshot.
Go to Setings->Battery->Battery optimization and disable battery optimization for the following seen in the screenshot. microG Services Core and Services Framework Proxy should not be battery optimized. Others are optional.
Goto Settings->Apps->(3 dot menu)->Show system and update permissions for Google contact & calendar sync if not updated by default.
Open microG settings app from app drawer and configure backgrounds under UnifiedNlp Settings. See screenshot.
Enable Google device registration and Google Cloud Messaging under Google Services. See screenshot.
Reboot phone. This is a must.
Once you get back to your home screen, open the microG settings app and click on Self-Check. All options must be switched on. That's it. Open playstore and add your account. Read the official webpage or the xda thread for more information. Have fun!!!
Issues
Afaik, the only app that doesn't work is hangouts. I didn't have any other problems.
You may also face delayed notifications from certain apps or for that matter no notifications. If you face such a situation, don't restore data for that app using tibu. Also don't battery optimize that app. Classic examples include mail, google+, whatsapp, tapatalk.
Finally you are getting some where with Nougate on the moto g4 plus. Keep up the great work!
Its not an individual effort. Its a team effort. I am just their PRO.

Its already rooted. Same procedure as in cm13. Tap Settings->About phone->Build No 7 times to access developer settings and activate root from there.

If it works for you, good. It didn't allow me to add more than 1 fp. That's why i included that information. I'll update it to inform users to try it out first.

Changelogs:
Device specific (Click Here)
Resurrection Remix OS - Pie source and Quark Changelog (Click Here)
What's working :
Everything.
Known Pie Bugs :
TWRP can't backup or decrypt data encrypted on Oreo or Pie: no know workaround, one day TWRP will support it.
No SIM Card or no Cell Signal: Very rare bug this days, the device can finish the booting up process and have a no sim card or zero/null network signal level in status bar preventing from making/receive a call or anything related to SIM status be OK for use, Don't confuse this with a slow to be recognized SIM or network status so before try the fix wait a minute or two to see if the signal comes up.

2)Check the boot reason prop "ro.boot.bootreason" if it is like the example bellow set to power_key_press the device didn't reboot it power off.
If is a Reboot/Power off related bug make the log as soon the device finishes boot up
Awwww yiiiiiiissssssss!
Thanks for all your hard work bringing relevancy to our very dated phones!
Thanks, man!
One question though: in the opengapps download page says '9.0 requires a patched ROM to proper WebView support'.
I haven't found in changelog or anywhere else mention of this patch.
Is the ROM patched to support WebView properly?

I used the aroma package with both LOS test roms in the past week and I had no problem with WebView. Plus, the opengapps website shows the same message if you pick Nougat (7.x) or Oreo (8.x).
I'm no dev but I'm pretty sure this ROM is already patched.

I never notice that, all custom ROM come with building WebView support, they update it here...
https://github.com/LineageOS/android_external_chromium-webview
You can choose/check what WebView you use in developer options, of course to change you need to have installed another WebView app like chrome .

Anyone tried magisk yet? Still have magisk hide issue where unable to install apps?
A device that had KitKat is installing pie.
Thanks man!
I'm off work today (sick) but at least it gives me plenty of time to try this.
Will download shortly
Edit: all good so far! I don't use a sim in this device anymore but it seems snappy.
An annoyance i found so far is theres an app is running in the background message that keeps popping up whenever i open the messaging app. I know this is an Android thing, but i googled the solution which is open the Android System app and turn off the "apps using battery" notification. This is already turned off. So if someone has a solution, please advise.

I think its the "app running" notification and its selected and read only.
A full unroot.... Normally I use Los root and unroot but I do not see that for Los 16.
Also having trouble finding an app that will move an app to system. I'm going to have to do that manually in twrp I guess.

You could use the Magisk app systemizer module

Rebooted with Magisk Hide on and tried to install Netflix... It works!
The issue we had on Oreo doesn't seem to affect Pie.

If you're rooted you can use Link2SD. I use it to uninstall system apps but it can also move (convert) them to system. Can confirm it works on RR-P.
There's no LOS Pie yet so the remove su addon is outdated. In the meanwhile you can just install and uninstall Magisk. It'll remove the native root during installation so the uninstaller should levae you completely unrooted.

I have the battery notification disabled and I haven't seen that message yet. Maybe it's because I upgraded all the way from RR Oreo?
The next time that notification appears tap and hold it to see where the notification came from and disable it if it's the case.

Its coming from the messaging app. SMS
Link2sd worked, app "impactor" successfully unrooted.
Very happy now with my slice of pie.
The rom is generally quite complete. A single detail is the battery life, which compared to the latest version of LOS 16, is draining faster.

Thank you so much
dirty flash didn't work for me so i flashed the rom cleanly. magisk and EdXposed work so well. the default wallpaper picker is limiting me from cropping an image the way i want to so i used wallpaper picker from GApps, battery life is as good as the oreo rom you just released recently. navigation bar menu wasn't found in the setting although i can search it and it shows where it is. currently running gravitybox and greenify on EdXposed and redmi note 2 tool to optimize my battery life. instagram still stutters every time a video and or a live feed is being played
update :
instagram stutter issue is not as bad as the one in the LOS 15.1, battery life is slightly worse than LOS 15.1's, substratum doesn't work as good as in the LOS 15.1
OMG... this phone still alive !! amazing, good work !!
The phone got a new life! Thank you!
But there is a serious problem - it is impossible to connect to a hidden wifi access point. In advanced settings support for a hidden access point is on.
if make AP visible SSID then phone may connected, but if make AP hidden SSID then phone not see this AP and not connect even if AP name was saved!
WiFi Analyzer application installed on this phone shows hidden APs without SSID.
I had this problem and with lineage-15.1-20200422 firmware too.
Please fix this problem! I need it very much!
Random reboot on my hermes
Hi friend, is possible to fix it.
want to share my experience using this rom.
previously i was using miuipro so more or less i compare these 2 roms.
PROS:
1 pretty good battery life
2 better performance
3 it's lighter
4 better than lollipop
CONS:
1 it reboots randomly (more than 10 times in a day)
2 the sim cards sometimes not detected, when detected the signal have X mark sign
3 confusing settings menu for me
4 not support non-mainstream icon app in status bar
5 can't play media (music, YouTube) from BT speaker
after all really appreciate your work
thanks
For random reboot i tested to suitch in development option the android system web view, for now no random reboot, continue the test.

it's still in beta so we may experience some bugs along the way. you might wanna try the more stable LOS 15.1 released by him as well last month. it has better battery life and it's easier to install magisk and xposed in that very rom. though i like how substratum works in this LOS 16, i still have better experience overall in LOS 15.1 as it's more stable and the only bug i encountered was some stuttering on instagram in both vanilla and modded app. i don't really use it though, so it's not a big of a deal for me
Problem with audio recording in WhatsApp, audio some time distorted
Please at least press 'thanks' to OP at first post as a minimal support !

it's still in beta so we may experience some bugs along the way. you might wanna try the more stable LOS 15.1 released by him as well last month. it has better battery life and it's easier to install magisk and xposed in that very rom. though i like how substratum works in this LOS 16, i still have better experience overall in LOS 15.1 as it's more stable and the only bug i encountered was some stuttering on instagram in both vanilla and modded app. i don't really use it though, so it's not a big of a deal for me

Pls read 2nd post from dev, there's a fix by custom kernel.
Thank you so much for reviving my secondary phone.
I was searching and waiting for updates and now it is there! All problems with auto rebooting is easy to fix. Just flash kernel in thread bellow and ROM will run normally. I hope updates will rollout in future .
anyone done a dirty flash from lineageOS15.1 from the same dev??? if so how well did it go?

for those with problematic mobile data not to connect sim2:
edit build.prop change : ro.mtk_enable_md1 = 1
to
ro.mtk_enable_md2 = 1
or just add :
persist.radio.default.sim=0

if you use mobile data from sim 2 it can't connect often, it has to restart repeatedly, sorry master if it interferes, just delete my unnecessary post,
note: i love your incredible rom. thank you, master
