How to improve gaming performance on stock rooted android 6.0.1? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Are there any performance tweaks that can be made to improve gaming performance?

Nope. About the only thing you could do is flash a kernel that overclocks the GPU, and you still might be disappointed.

GPU performance enanchment ? [Q]

as you all know there are new kernel been made up for our sgY so i
thought if it is possible for any dev to really tweak up our Gpu coz the current one you know sucks a bit when you compare to adreno
it would be really nice if we can tweak it for real fun for gaming
we cant mod our gpu cuz its hardware. but u can use chainfire 3d for artifical graphics.. btw our gaming performance is quite nice!
try flashing bravia engine too from dev section...hehehe

kernel for smooth ui and gaming (JB)

can anyone recommend a kernel thats simple that provides a smoother experience for gaming and UI. i know JB has project butter but i notice in some games like ski safari, there are stutters that i don't experience on my galaxy s2 (exynos). do i need a kernel with 512mhz gpu for smoother gaming? or a lower step (higher than stock) is enough? im asking this because in my experience overclocking gpu or cpu too much causes more problems sometimes.
use any of the trinity kernels and it will take care of any lag in games.

I use Franco kernel with 512mhz GPU, no problem so far.

Best Performance Oriented Kernel

I am looking for a performance oriented (Zero lag in UI navigation and scrolling) kernel, I don't care about battery life. Can you guys help me out?
Thanks in advance
IPhone 7 if u want Smoothness and less lag, overtime Android OS on any phone is going to eventually lag, u can try EX kernel or blu_spark and use AKT 1.4 and use performance, u may want to read up on different profiles to fit ur preference also too there are some build.prop mods to get good scrolling too
I like these build.prop modswindowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=500
ro.max.fling_velocity=20000
ro.min.fling_velocity=18000
Wtf is this post with iPhone, you brain lag for sure mate, change it ASAP. I don't have any lags even with stock kernel. What lags are you talking about?

If you want zero lag go for a kernal with touchboost. Franco has this nicely configured.
ElementalX overclocked and running in performance mode. Also the ROM will have something to do with the performance so maybe look into a good one. I personally cant recommend enough Resurrection Remix N.
Blu_spark with Fastlane enabled. Nothing compares if you want pure speed. Benefit is that battery life doesn't take a big hit unlike AKT 1.4 performance profiles which destroy your battery life but do offer great performance.
Xceed kernel is the best when it comes to overclocking and performance.

LXT™ High Performance Battery Saving Tweaks

Legendary Xperia Tweaks
High performance battery savig tweaks for Snapdragon (810-820-835) devices
korom42 has just adapted his battery saving tweaks to work on Snapdragon 835 devices.
This is a Magisk module, so phone must be rooted.
Check out the main thread here
Out of curiosity , Ive installed this module "default" on my xz1c .. will see how this goes. So far, it does seem smooth .. Im not sure if smoother and not sure bout battery life yet.

Anyone interested in an Over clocked kernel or rom?

I've compiled Resurrection Remix with over clocked CPU (@2.2ghz) and GPU (@800mhz) and it's not that much of an improvement. I'd say PUBG runs little better now and some improvement in benchmarks. Well, I wasn't expecting miracles either but let me know if anyone wants an over clocked ROM or kernel. I am trying to add exfat support (I'd be happy if any devs can help me with that) as many user wants but I'm getting nowhere for now.
I can even take it to next level with CPU @2.4ghz and GPU @850mhz but I think that would be overkill.

I think it's little less than the stock ROM but now it depletes faster while gaming (as gaming pushes all cores to max).

Nice. That kernel would be great to VR
Well , good idea is to make only OC kernel and then setup it via kerenel audiutor eg. -- OC @ gpu would be nice because it is weakest part of MZP . I've just made benchmark on stock oreo antutu 7.1.3 = 75716 pts. while on latest Cosmos 3.2 rom result was 81703 pts.
i would be interested in a undervolting one

Yeah, that would be interested. I was playing wirh that, I think it was, Atrix time... Don't expect miracles but could add a bit to battery life. And a bit more in freezing the phone or crashing the apps

Under volting is not a good idea, it creates a lot of issues. To increase battery life use smart pixels, build prop tweaks and also amplify and greenify. However for screen on time, lowering resolution and smart pixels are best options.

Yeah, nice idea
I think stock runs on 8.0 while Cosmos on 8.1 so that might've improved it somewhat,
I wish if there was some tweak to OC GPU of normal ROM.

I think a kernel with overclocking possibilities would be nice. In fact, what I would really love was to see a port of Elemental X or Blu Spark kernels.
