No , but u need to unlock ur bootloader and flash a custom recovery like twrp or red Wolf , before flashing this zip.

I do not understand half of the things listed in the improvements. However, something caught my attention: USB Fast Charge. Does this means the phone will support fast charging once this kernel is flashed?

After installing. My phone is asking to format sd card and shows currpted. Rebooted and clear dalvik cache same error back to stock kernel. Using stock rom 316

How to take log ? And no i don't use xpose its battery hog and makes.device laggy

Is it possible that we get WiFi 5ghz band as the SoC supports it? And also what about Qualcomm quick charge?

How fast does it charge? 3000mA at 4V? Or even more?

Overview:
I’m a newbie to rebuild and compile a custom kernel. I like to learn new things and share with you my modified version of 14.5.A.0.242-Kernel
It is basically a mixture between some developers kernel source like e.g.,cocafe,DooMLoRD,alnikki25k.
I'm not a developer so I cannot answer your question about any bugs for this kernel immediately. I will try to ask other developer how to
resolve bugs. Experts, please correct me if I am wrong, this stuff is still new to me also.
2015/07/25
I started to port AndroPlusKernel most of feature for z1 compact
Please to visit the AndroPlusKernel's Original Thread in the Z2 forum, and make sure you read all the instructions there

-710N & DR4G0N 3D1T10N Comes with Dtux Adiutor!!!
Steps for proper Gain Changes with Faux Sound
1-Turn OFF the gain locks if its on (default is OFF)
2-Change the gains to your liking
3-Turn back ON the gain locks to ensure they won't be changed by any other app and to survive reboots if the sound tab applies on boot.
NOTE THAT SPECTRUM IF YOU JUST REBOOTED IT MAY TAKE UP TO 2MIN TO OPEN AS IT APPLIES LAST CHOSEN PROFILE AT BOOT
-KERNEL STARTS IN ENFORCING MODE BY DEFAULT, BREAKING VIPER4ANDROID (IT NEEDS PERMISSIVE), INTALL THIS: The SELinux Toggler
AND GIVE KUDOS TO THE DEV. THE APP WILL TAKE CARE ON EVERY BOOT TO PUT IT AS YOU LAST LEFT IT, WITH AN OPTIONAL NOTIFICATION

Im not sure if its kernel related probably is on un7 rom after charging to 100% and unplugging i used to go 4-5 hpurs before it drops 1% can something like that be intergrated to this kernel "if" its the part of the kernel , battery life really is all important specially to those with stock battery

Adding ZL to the kernel helps stock batteries that sre starting to give trouble but not too much, this is unfortunately a battery problem.
We the note 4 users need to find a battery of another device that fits, like cameras other mainstream phones, etc, to have a fresher battery with us.
Whoever finds one that fit, please share it with us:good:
Wow, Making New Kernels!! Awesome Bro! Keep up the Great Work!!
OP - Will this work with the Ultimate Note 7 ROM?
I'm running the Ultimate Note 7 ROM on a PK1 base flash.

Yeah, I re-read the first post about testing on UN7
Unfortunately it did not work.
I flashed the new kernel, wiped cache/dalvik - rebooted, waited, waited some more, took a break, came back - still nothing - sat at the Darth Vader boot screen.
Pulled the battery, re-flashed the Beastmode Zerolemon r61 kernel, wiped cache/dalvik, rebooted, and then after a few it came back up with Android is Starting / optimizing.
Looks like a no-go for this on UN7 (and running the PK1 stock pre-flashed before installing UN7)

Thanks for reporting, i will look for the commit missing and add it to it. Stay tuned.
UPDATE! COMPILING NEW VERSION, ADDING THE FOLLOWING COMMITS
-tcp: tweak for speed
-power: quickwakeup: initial driver
-USB: android: Fix memory leak in mass_storage_function_init()
-Added HAVE_EFFICIENT_UNALIGNED_ACCESS & Added KSM
V1.1, is a snapshot kernel but stable, help me guys to improve it!
OK - Flashed the 1.1 fix and UN7 booted up fine!
Here are a couple of screenshots.
One thing of interest, when I booted up with this after flashing from Recovery, it stated SELinux is not enforcing.
Doesn't matter to me but just wondering as first post said it is SELinux Enforcing by default? (Whoops - shows Enforcing in screenshots - ignore!)
Also, my reported battery shows 3220 mah, but it is an 8000mah battery, but it also reported this for Beastmode r61 kernel as well.

Booted right up UN7. Quick question...all 4 cores stay online all the time, is that supposed to be that way? Last kernel I was running the cores would go offline/online depending on "usage"
It shouldn't, clear cache of kernel Adiutor, im adding support to a better app for this kernel. Will upload later.
Please let me know if the cpu cores goes back to nornal

Frequently asked questions
Q: Will this conflict with any mod I'm using?
A: As long as it doesn't have any entropy related stuff, its okay. Since the kernel already comes with an inbuilt entropy generator, it will conflict with the ones from mod, causing a poor, stuttered performance!
Q: Deep Sleep isnt working for me, Google Services causing wake-locks, what to do?
A: Go to settings, Privacy, Privacy Guard, All apps, long press Google Services, and deny/disable wake-locks! (Thanks to @Paget96 for the solution)
Q: Which version should I flash?
A: Flash kernel with toolchain that you prefer.
Q: What is the difference between the UBERTC, Linaro, SaberMod and Google toolchain? Which one is the best?
A: It's a good read on the toolchain UBERTC you are wanting to know more about it, this for Linaro, this for SaberMod and this for Google.
Q: What is the difference between the HMP and Miui kernel?
A: Miui folder is for miui roms -> xiaomi.eu, MiuiBR and other derivatives from miui official. HMP folder is for aosp rom and derivatives -> Aosp, Lineage and other derivatives from aosp
Q: Is your kernel secure?
A: You MAY face some issues, but it's safe! My cell phone has not exploded yet.
Q: WiFi doesnt work for me.
A: Reflash ROM and Kernel.
Q: What application can I use to configure the kernel?
A: Use Spectrum, and if you have enough knowledge of what to modify or do in the application use together Kernel Adiutor.
Q: Can I use the kernel source in my ROM?
A: If you want to use my kernel in your ROM, just put my name in the credit, just like I did.
Q: Does your kernel support writing to the NTFS file system?
A: Yeeh, you can use flash drives and HD with NTFS via OTG.
Q: My cpu clock is locked with any governor.
A: Just disable the thermal control in the kernel temperature settings.
Q: I have problems with your kernel.
A: Take a logcat and kmesg, this website and this video should help you
Q: Why does my magisk and root disappear after installing your kernel?
A: The kernel script makes changes that directly interfere with both, reinstall the magisk that it will function normally, follow this installation line always: FloppyKernel -> Magisk -> Reboot system.
Q: Does your kernel support Miui ROM?
A: Yes, support was added in "RC1.2".
Q: Why did your kernel go straight to "RC1.2"?
A: Because it is based on the FloppyKernel for MI5, which is already in RC1.2.
Q: What is the "Battery" profile in the spectrum?
A: Based on Project Zhana & X.A.N.A was made for trying to be as efficient as possible without compromising the performance. Thanks to the discovery on Voltages used by our SD820 I could make a profile that utilizes more the BIG cluster. My first attempt was to move ALL the load to the BIG cluster, it was against anything that I have learned about little. BIG CPU but I tried, it turned really good at first, low usage was just amazing... But on more usage things didn't go that good. So what I did it was to give a twist to things, but not such twist. It kind of works like Nameless and Shotgun, Mostafa Wael and I worked the same idea. #LITTLE cluster will be running on low-mid frequencies but delivers full performance when is needed. # BIG Cluster will help LITTLE ease Load, but in a great way than before. Things can be done faster and more efficient giving us profit in form of battery. It should run smooth on all scenarios, but you guys tell me. You can easily get around 7~9 hours SOT for 24 hours even more If you don't play game. This will, of course, may vary, but it will definitely be better.
Q: What is the "Balanced" profile in the spectrum?
A: Based on GhostPepper was made to uses a quantized, frequency-aligned parametric curve to influence low core clock rates while providing extremely smooth transitions from each clock rate and exceptional battery life. Really well-defined clock speed escalation for a good battery and performance.
Q: What is the "Performance" profile in the spectrum?
A: Based on FusionP this profile brings a more "agressive" way to scale frequencies. It will scale frequencies sooner(regarding load values from cpu) and will use more the big cluster to provide more performance doing the tasks on hands. Battery should not take a big hit but using heavy demanding tasks you can expect a higher drain.
Q: What is the "Gaming" profile in the spectrum?
A: Based on Burnout PR5, this profile's main goal is to provide absolute maximum performance when needed, but lies low quite well. You see, some times I see the CPU hitting some of the high freqs of 1190 while making something as simple as watching YouTube or playing some spotify tracks needlessly, and sometimes I feel it is a bit slower than it should be in things like brute multitasking. Most profiles do aim at bringing a mid-ground to rest on. But with the sensible words of one of my favourite idols Jeremy Clarkson, he says 'Power solves everything' and right he is. By eliminating the mid freqs of the Little cluster and efficiently using some specific frequency steps, you get some power savings by staying on lower freqs as much as possible, and even on brutal tasks you get the job done faster as well, since the CPU will give you all the power to finish the job as fast as it can, and hit back to idle faster.
Q: I want more information about your spectrum profiles.
A: Read this thread.
Q: I want more information about governors, I/O Scheduler, Hotplug, TCP Algorithms and other things.
A: Read this thread.
Hi! I tried the new version of the kernel on mi-globe 7.12.21 rom with twrp 3.2.1 .
I think i am doing something wrong as it does not boot, even if i install the latest magisk v15.
It gets to the boot image and then it shuts down the phone.
Then i reinstall mi-globe rom that comes with the stock kernel and it is fine.

@Jonas Cardoso I've a question, could you compile WiFi monitor mode with your kernel? Its a tool which let's you capture wifi packages, and enables to use tools like pcap for android.
Thanks in advance.

if not for you, then this is maybe if:
- you SoC/voltageregulator/phone doesn't support overclocking
- your device overheated due high outside temp or high load
- you system set restrictions to overclocking

yes, thats right
you may try dirty install but this is not a guarantee what system boot due to magisk specific
best way is remove all modules from magisk, remove magisk via flashing stock kernel and then boot to twrp and install butterfly

May I ask if this kernel could be modified so we can overclock? How exactly do we need to go about and do the modifications to the PLL tables? It'd be great if you could help out and make a tutorial or something.

I'm using stock ROM Pie 10.0.4 update version.
Kernel updates (see topic)
Changelog v2.99:
Added new builds:
- Oreo base CAF & Prima Tag by LA.UM.6.6.r1-11000-89xx.0
- Legacy base (not updated pure sources from MiCode github)
- Installer totally fixed for support wifi on custom roms
Oreo base is only for oreo vendors (9.6.x.0 versions)!!!
Why i built this and legacy variants?)
For compatibility. Because some people still using oreo stock or 8.1 vendor with GSI

I'm on Stock ROM 10.0.4.0.
So, no exDAT support, right?
I am undecided whether to stay in oreo with this kernel or pie always switch to this kernel.
It is wrong to ask, instead of trying, but I don't have much time to test
No one with any feedback on the battery and stability?
(Noob question, what is it the difference of legacy kernel? )

reserv
I will not help users if they are:
- using Magisk and moreover they installed modules;
- made any kernel settings (selected exotic governors, turned on hotplug and etc.);
- using option "Disable HW overlays";
- not sure that the same problems were not on the standard kernel
- not follow installation guide
All OC versions is always have CPU 2.2GHz
if not for you, then this is maybe if:
- you SoC/voltageregulator/phone doesn't support overclocking
- your device overheated due high outside temp or high load
- you system set restrictions to overclocking
.

OC versions always run at 2.2GHz or only when under load such as playing games? If it always run at 2.2GHz, will it hurts CPU in long term?
@Funk Wizard I'll request you to look into it due to violation of GPL license in a kernel thread and also Improper kernel commit history.
What is exactly the difference between this and Butterfly kernel? Furthermore, is it recommended only to flash this on a CAF-based rom? If so, can't we only flash it on the caf-based build of PE?

why you asked?)
all builds have working wifi
but some magisk modules may brick wifi on any kernels
@eremitein is it possible to add voltage control interface so we can control it ourselves in ie. Kernel Adiutor ?
Im on Piexl Experience and magisk installed with some modules installed like youtube vanced etc.
Can i just Dirty flash it or i should i follow some steps??

maybe in future...
now i don't have much free time for developing. and also my google build server is suspended (trial time is over), so i take pause for rest
the source codes of both of my kernels are available on the Github, anyone can take and use them on the basis of the GPL - learn how to build kernel, add functionality, modify and release(with saving all copy(left)rights in the code and publish it), build into the rom... you can get quick acquainted with the GPL here
