[HELP] Google Camera crashing with cam2api enable and rooted on Pixel Experience - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello everyone!
I need to record 1080p60fps videos on my Redmi Note 5 (pro) global. I have official Pixel Experience rom. I don't really care about Google Cam, but it seems like the only app that allows to record in 60fps (open camera record in 4k, but not in 1080p60), so I tried to install it. I have Magisk v16.0 with Camera2 API Enabler installed (checked using getprop and it is enabled), but I practically every google camera mod I tried is crashing. Here is log (same for all):

It immediately crashes right after I open it. It just asks for camera and microphone permissions. I think there is some internal issue (maybe?). Crashing at:
HTML:
java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to get length of null array

I've had the same error.
So i enabled cam2api in build.prop manualy
Steps to follow on this ROM, else you will face force closes
1. Go to /system/ & copy build.prop to internal storage for backup
2. Open the system/build.prop with text editor
3. Scroll to the last & leave a space after the last line
4. Add the below lines
#Camera2 API
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
5. reboot

OH YEEEEAAAAAHHH! Thanks a lot! It is working now!

Damm. It's working, but there is no 60fps recording. Any ideas?

Which Version of GCAM do you use?
In https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/themes/app-arnova8g2s-google-camera-port-t3784423 its actually listed as a feature
Maybe you should try the listed gcam from 1 post

I am also on Pixel Experience. For me Arnovas GCAM Pixel2 Mod v.8.1. works without any bugs. I flashed camera2api as zip file trough twrp. Now im waiting for stock camera port.

4.1.1 WiFi Turns Itself Off Sporadically

Since 4.1.1 WiFi turns itself off sporadically. My sleep policy is set to never.
I did a search and found the the "My Vodaphone" app was causing problems. I've never had that application, Vodaphone is not my service provider, and I live in the U.S.
Has anyone else had this problem and figured it out?

i have the same problem
Seems to happening extremely sporadically for me. Like maybe once every few weeks I'll catch it turning off WiFi when the screen's off.
i have the same problem, for ex. whilei'm watchimg a u2be vid the wifi turns off every 30sec-1min... i'm running stock jelly bean
Looked at some logs. It doesn't seem like there is anything external turning WiFi off. Seems like it just does it all by itself, even though I have WiFi sleep set to never... Maybe it's just a bug in 4.1.1 where you set it to sleep never and the setting doesn't stick? But then the issue should be more wide spread.
The few times I've caught it in the log, it happens generally right before the PicasaSyncManager process. I have Google photo sync disabled but instant upload for google+ enabled. I'm not sure if they use the same upload process though...
Anyone have any advice?

Whilst your sleep policy may be set to never, it could be that avoid poor connection is checked and causing the issue. Also, if Spare Parts is installed, sleep policy must be set to never in it as well.

Bluetooth pairing gets intermittently forgotten

Even after getting Android Wear 2.0 I'm still having this issue. At times (not every time) when I walk out of the phone's range and after I get back, the bluetooth pairing would be lost and I get the pairing request prompts on both the phone and the watch.
This issue is also being discussed in the Google forums as well, and is still ongoing.
It's not a big issue since completing the pairing will make it continue to function for the time being, but it can be annoying as if I'm not immediately aware of the problem the phone will keep making notification noises.
From the phone's logcat during the period I'm seeing something that makes me curious (The watch's Bluetooth device name and address have been obscured in the logs below since they're device-specific):

[APP] [FEEDBACK] Arnova8G2's Google Camera Port

As requested by @Arnova8G2 and as already available in other supported devices subforum, this thread is dedicated to Arnova8G2's version of Google Camera Port.
Latest known working version: GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.7Beta2.apk
Config camera HDR+: Nexus 6 Auto, any other config will result in blank viewfinder.
Both lens blur and portrait mode works, but portrait works only for human object. The closer the object the more aggressive the blur is.
Other features work as expected.
Latest tested beta version: GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V6-Beta16.apk
Bug: crash on start

Thanks Arnova for support Mi Note 3!
Here are logs from each config, I've also grep-ed the logcat to only those having CAM_:
View attachment logcat.auto.txt
View attachment logcat.nexus6auto.txt
View attachment logcat.nexus6p.txt
View attachment logcat.pixel2017zslhdr+.txt
The stacktrace look similar, they all fail in InitParams.

try to disable front HDR, its not working on our phone
Guys, i have this installed:
GC_3.2.045_Mi6_MiMix_final_1.1.apk.
It works very well on my Mi Note 3 for photos.
Is this version worse than the post 1?

Not worse, just different and is based on older version. It's more stable but has less features. I believe that's BSG work.
@Arnova8G2 after some night testing, I found that the last one you gave has greenish issue on dark area. Here are some comparisons both outdoor and indoor, compared to MIUI camera (outdoor one with HDR on):

I had another version of GCam5Mod working. Using config Nexus6Auto. It even works with ZSL. However the video has blank viewfinder.
However I uninstalled it somehow. The only thing I remember is that it has model selection from the first page of the settings menu. Not sure which one was it just randomly grabbed from xda posts lol

Tried this, it totally works.
There are some minor issues. HDR+Enhanced crashes, video 1080p60fps video output is corrupted.
Let me try tweak these.

This seems to fix the front camera, at least it's usable even if HDR+ for it still has to be disabled. Pixel 2017 Zsl+ config causes blurry image, though. But perhaps it's expected, it's ZSL after all. Choosing auto config makes more appropriate shutter speed. Portrait mode causes blank viewfinder with non-responding interface which finally terminates itself.
For the back camera, greenish hue issue is still there.
Strangely, MI6 i put above works very well after a small tests e did at night...

Random reboots (logcat is inside), please advise

Hello techy people,
I have bought XA2, unlocked bootloader and installed latest LOS 15 (30 Nov build). Installed Magisk, MicroG, Afwall, all worked well and today random reboots started to happen. Sometimes it happens when I play with location settings in maps app, sometimes when I use the messenger. I did a few logcats and all of them have the following bit:

I understand that bootloops are caused by setPermissionForNetworks() but not sure how to fix it.

com.android.statementservice regularly crashing on LineageOS for microg

Hi,
I have just installed LineageOS for microg 19 (19-20220522-microg-bramble) on my Pixel 4a 5g and I am receiving a regular popup every few minutes saying that "Intent Filter Verification Service has stopped".
From what I have read this is used to call another application on the phone (based on what type of thing needs to be handled)??
The logs I am getting with logcat do not seem to lead me towards anything (see below from two examples). I'm not sure if anyone has any suggestions on what could be causing this or where else I can look??
My suspicion is that this is something to do with not having the google apps (using microg instead) but not sure. I did find one other mention of it here, but no solution
Note: I did have LineageOS for microg 18 installed previously which did not exhibit this behaviour...

Sorry I don't have a solution for you but since you are using LineageOS+microG on a Pixel phone, you might be interested in switching to CalyxOS as they seem to already have a workaround in place even though the bug isn't fixed yet.

As a bonus, with CalyxOS you also get better security than just LineageOS+microG thanks to bootloader relocking.
I am suffered by that bug too. I can't see any harm by this, but it is annoying. The patch in CalyxOS is just to hide that problem as a workaround.
I filed a bug report here:
Intent filter verification service / com.android.statementservice regularly crashing on LineageOS for microg · Issue #1740 · microg/GmsCore
I am aware this is a very unclear specification of a bug. It is not clear who and what is responsible for this - can be also Android12 (LOS). But it seems to be that the combination of LOS and micr...

Please report there all your findings @maloo1 and @johnfocker
So I ended up following @johnfocker's suggestion and installed CalyxOS (android 12) and it does "fix" the issue.
I guess Calyx is a perfect fit for my needs anyway (microg, locked boot loader, great polished daily driver) so Ill probably stick with it unless I end up with a phone that is not supported.
It would make sense to have it fixed in microg thou if thats the root cause... I'll see what I can add to the bug...
Thanks again!
Very strange. The messages disappear to pop up after some time.
Lately I installe the new Magisk 25 and BetterBatteryStats (XDA) and it appears again - althoug I am not sure that was really reason. There is continiously changes in phone, so difficult to nail it down.

This seems to be a bug in AOSP: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/4978d1ad10293900e9b5feea349abd09ceb6e710
The LOS repo android_frameworks_base does not have this commit at the moment. I'll cherry-pick that one, and give it a try.

Just too late for the lineage.microg.org August round of builds.
