xiaomitool. No more bootloops - Xiaomi Mi 6 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Like many of you, I also had the problem that the phone had a bootloop after a flash. No matter what I tried, nothing worked. I found and tried this tool xiaomitool from Francesco. With this tool you can flash any rom without bootloop. Please save your data before
Thus tool does a flash completely automatically. You even didn't need TWRP pre-installed on your device

Hi,
First, I'd like to thank you for finding the tool and publishing it here.
It's a really handy Application.
After moving around in the app quite a bit, I couldn't find any way to install any custom roms.
All it offers - Miui Global/Beta, Chinese Official/Beta roms and some other tweaks (TWRP, SU etc.)
How to flash any other custom Rom..?
Am I missing something here..?
Please describe.
Thanks in advance.

You have to download the ROM, then go to: "Local ROM file"

[Q] TWRP Update path for One M8

Hello everyone and have a Merry Christmas,
I'm trying to update my TWRP recovery because I want to go 100% stock. I'm still running TWRP 2.7.0.2. The most recent version of TWRP is 2.8.3.0.
I downloaded the TWRP manager app from the Play store and easily selected the last available version of the recovery to install.
After downloading the .img file, I get a pop up that looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The pop up says: "Be sure that the listed path is correct for your device. An uncorrect check may result in bricking your device. You can't flash a recovery directly on Android on some devices. If you can't flash through Android, please choose a different method".
It looks like a "routine" alert, but nonetheless it sounds very alarming. How can I say if the listed path is the correct one for my device (HTC One M8 unbranded GSM international version)?
Thank you for helping.
why update twrp ? twrp is not stock ! and you can also fastboot flash it. oldskool way
Because the procedure to go stock requires some flashing and it was adviced to have the latest version running.
I'm not such an expert, I'm more the type who tries to read as much as possible before trying anything, and upgrading TWRP was a sort of "pre-step".
Also I'm not very keen to use fastboot: I got that it is great, but it is not very straightfoward for beginners.
The tool from the Play store seemed to do the job pretty good and easily.

What if I flash a custom recovery over a custom recovery? Is it possible to simply flash it and overwrite an already existing custom recovery?
there is no other way, the recovery will always overwrite the old one. its impossible to run 2 recoveries

HomTom HT3: firmware update, root

Posting this because there seems to be no information on this device not in Russian.
Bought a HomTom HT3 (non-Pro). Came with firmware 1.0.1, and no OTA update available (seems HomTom's server has been down for some time, and their website is no help). 1.0.1 firmware doesn't seem rootable by any method I tried (not an experiences Android hacker, or even user).
Using SP Flash Tool (MediaTek flash tool) it's possible to flash official 2.0.8 firmware (latest, near as I can tell). I'd post a direct link to the firmware on Google Drive, but new user restrictions. You can Google: "M20_HT3_V2.0.8_user_20160419-14_29_27.zip"
In my case it was necessary to install the MediaTek VCOM drivers as well.
With 2.0.8 installed, rooting is as simple as installing and running KingRoot. Hope this helps someone.
p.s. it seems the Russians have CM and other customs ROMS for this phone.
You can Google: "M20_HT3_V2.0.8_user_20160419-14_29_27.zip"

I have exactly the same problem that u described.
But unfortunately the file was deleted from Google drive and I am screwed unless u can maybe send it to me or upload it and send me the link? I would appreciate a lot!! Really man, I am going crazy here x(
Unfortunately don't have. I'd suggest scouring HomTom's facebook page, including through user posts, for firmware links.
Damn, but thanks for your advice.
Btw do u have a recovery that works for this version?
I have problem with Homtom HT3 PRO version. After using SP Flash Tool to upgrade official ROM phone starting with broken picture. What I can do?

unable to install or launch TWRP

Hey,
I've unlocked my Mi 6 today (i'm using the global developer ROM 8.9.13 (MIUI10)) and wanted to root it, as many guides said I have to replace the default recovery with something like TWRP
result was:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
after leaving it like that for 30 minutes nothing has changed, the screen on my mobile was the the default fastboot screen nothing ever changed
so i tried to just launch TWRP without installing it:
nothing changed like before and i've stopped after 5minutes
i also have the same result with RedWolf Recovery Project:
I also tried using XiaoMiTool but all i got was the message that my phone is not connected to my MiAccount and still locked and did nothing
Does anyone have any idea whats going?
Edit:
seems like flashboot commands dont work? tried flashboot continue to reboot the device after checking with fastboot devices to see if it was recognized by the system and it was indeed.
and the result were the same as above cmd was stuck mobile didnt react....
Thanks
Dugma

I'd rather flash the recovery than just booting to it. You can flash it with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
You should be able to boot to recovery afterwards. Or at least that's what I did when I bought my phone. I updated to the latest version of MIUI (android 8.0), then I enabled "oem unlock") and I was able to flash twrp with no problems. Keep in mind that the stock rom erases any custom recovery with the default one on boot.
Facing the same issue. Tried everything but no success.

Glad I could help. What custom rom did you tried out? And what version of it?
Latest Pixel Experience, I like that it has no bloatware but it just has a lot of bugs.
If anyone has a problem where you cant use McDonald's app cuz of security issues, when flashing you need to lock the device.

Lol. Why you need to lock bootloader for just that app?

Question ROM flashing in TMO LE2127

Hello guys, I just got this phone upgrading from my OP5T and I used to flash roms and kernels with TWRP, I see things have changed and I would not like to destroy my phone. I have always liked

trying new roms and messing with my phone, would really like to be able to flash Nameless or PE. I have seen that if you get the TMobile variant things get a little tricky with firmwares and phone versions. I got my SIM unlocked and I already have my unlock file to unlock my bootloader. Havent done that because I dont really know if my ROM flash would work.
Do I need to unlock my bootloader?
Can I already flash my ROM files directly from adb or do I need to convert my phone to EU with TSM?
I have seen that people mess with modules that I need to backup, is this only needeed to convert to EU version or would I need this for Nameless
?
Do I flash firmwares via fastboot/adb or do they come with local updates? Which I do not have because of TMO.
I have already asked a couple questions in the forum but I need to clarify myself with ROM flashing and prerequerisites with my 2127 version. I would really appreciate some help about this, Ive never tried getting help from forums and looks like this phone community is pretty active.
Go to the Nameless thread and follow the instructions to the letter and you will be fine!

Is it really that easy? I do not have to do anything else before because of TMO?

No, just make sure you follow every step in sequence. Read the instructions a couple times to make sure you fully understand everything. Like are you suppose to be on Android 11 or 12 as an example.
