GUys I have emui 5 version Android 7.0, It is a fingerprint enabled, and I have forgotten the password. My Gmail email ids are already added to that phone. I can unlock the phone using my fingerprint. Is there any way to recover or reset the password without hard reset or complete reset?

[Q] please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device

when i install a custom rom (viper one 4.2.1 or 4.3) i get the following error please sign in using one of the owner's accounts for this device. when i install the RUU for AT&T developer i can log in just fine with my account.
anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
Go back to your functioning rom and remove the google account (might want to do a backup first!). Then do the flashing etc and sign in with your account as a new device.
The problem is googles factory reset protection. Its designed to make the device useless if the phone is factory reset without being unlocked first.
The other way is factory reset from android settings, then flash, then sign in to your account as a new device.
Google needs to address the fact that frp is too strong and needs to add another way in to devices in the event of accidental lockout.

I am having the same problem more or less.
I have bought a Nexus 9 from another person.
I did a factory reset today and I cannot sign in now.
Will this solution work? How do I go to funcioning rom, etc?
This is a "Google" security feature... When you wipe a device and then set it back up, if you didn't delete the Google account first, it will ask for those "original" credentials. Only way around it is to completely RUU the device back to the latest stock image. But I've heard some devices still have issues since the SN or IEMI is associated with the previous users Google account.
So, if you buy a new device... ALWAYS make sure the previous owner deleted their Google account first, or have them there when you go through the first few setup screens to enter their credentials....Then after you enter your credentials, you can reset it.
Just kind of mirroring what shivadow said
OH no! I am having this problem with a newer device!! Please help! It has been about 22 hours since I tried booting a custom binary with a non-unlocked OEM lock! I'm waiting to try to sign in to my Google account until 24 hours passes! I might have to wait 72 hours! Please review the post [LINK=http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/s7-edge-canada-boot-to-twrp-t3509603]here[/LINK]...I don't know if I posted that right so cut and paste this if that link doesn't work:

When i got it, i used it once and twice and then put it. now after a year or two, i want to install lineage and use it again as secondary device. but the problem is i don't remember which gmail id i used(i had 7 ids) and don't even have a clue about some accounts ids and passwords which i (currently using only 2 ids) don't use. And as usb debugging is disabled i can't do anything with my pc to get out of this situation.

Unable to bypass factory reset protection even with the correct Google account

Hi, I bought a Nexus 5X for a friend a few weeks ago and got it updated to Nougat. I used my own Google account to setup the phone and install some apps. Then, I removed the device from my Google account, factory reset it, and gave it to friend. When he switched it on, it asked to enter the original owner’s Google username and password, so I gave mine. But after logging in without any error message, the phone displays the same screen over and over. Asking to enter the original owner’s Google username and password. We tried to wipe user data in recovery mode also. But the same issue occurs. Anyone knows how to fix this? Please help.

Did you change the password on your google account.
If so, there will be 72hr lockout on that account for activations.
If you try to early, it resets the 72hr counter.
@minnix wait the 72 hrs as advised or check online for a current bypass method or flash the TOT with the LG Up tool as if your phone were bricked.

One other thing, the best thing to do to avoid factory reset protection is remove account from device as opposed to what you wrote (remove device from account)

Option for password has disappeared with Nougat

I factory wiped my phone under Marshmallow, and then updated it to Nougat with the OTA update, but when I boot up, I discovered that I am only proposed to add fingerprints to the phone. I am not offered to add a password for encryption. In the settings menu, adding a password does not appear anywhere. And it says the phone is already encrypted.
I don't understand what is going on. How can I encrypt the phone using a password?

You don't see an option above fingerprint under security in settings (swipe)? Click it.

Try using Android device manager reset / erase it remotely, or you just need to give it new password
I recommend you install Magisk and root the phone, and then more possibilities will open up. Best I can say is to factory reset, but back up stuff first.

Note 10 Plus SM-N975F asks for PIN after restart

I upgraded my Note 10+ to Android 10 Pie, through beta updates and then final. I noticed that during last days it asks me to enter PIN code for security reasons after restarting the phone (I don't know if it was the exact text, I got the message in italian language). I haven't any reboot scheduled in Device Care app, nor I never saw the moment when the device reboots, I only get this message.
What can I do?
Is there any way to see if Note really restarts and why?
I'm trying to avoid to make a factory reset and reinstall all from scratch.
Sounds like your phone is repeatedly crashing. You could try clearing the system cache. If that doesn't solve the problem, I don't know of any recourse other than factory reset.
That's the PIN settings.
(change the security settings of the phone, remove the pin, and add the pin one more time, but this time, don't click on "ask for pin when restarting the device)
you didn't note why the phone was restarting, or if it was you that was restarting it
or your account had been hacked and they remote locked your phone, try logging in to website version of Googles my device, and remote unlock it.

Just use your last numeric pin you used to log in. This happens I believe when you don't remove the Google accounts from the device before factory resetting or flashing new roms.

No, I'm not restarting it, seems like it restarts by itself but I never saw it while it's restarting, I only notice that it asks for the PIN to unlock and shows that message.
I'm trying to find a tool to get informations about restarts and causes of it, in the meanwhile I enabled the option to restart the phone into the device care app, I configured it and then disabled again, now are 3 days and for now it doesn't ask for the PIN anymore.

I don't think so, I enabled double authentication and got no messages about account violation.

Same for me, since beta 2 or so. But i didn't care much tbh.
Before setup your password, system ask you "do boot need a password" . You want to change, must disabled password in lock screen. Than re-entry a password and answer question is "no".
