AT&T Started Rolling out Software Update - LG V35 Guides, News, & Discussion

Just started downloading a software update. It appears to be pretty big update size because I have fast wifi and it is taking a while to download.
Anyone else getting update? Anyone know what the changes are in this update? I will report back after download completes and see what version it is.

I don't have AT&T myself but, if you Looked at/posted this question within the Dedicated Device Area that this applies to, you may be able to obtain some additional information regarding your specific question.
As a guess myself... If it's recently released, then it's probably due to a heavy server load reflecting allot of individuals downloading it as well.
Good Luck!

Unfortunately mine applied the update in my pocket somehow. I wanted to hold off on the update to wait and see what it contained.. ah well.

OTA yes or no..........?

ok just a simple question.......Can we apply the OTA update from HTC or not?
I am not ready to root yet but also do not want the ability taken away, I know that people are reporting that the unrevoked method still works but is this really where the rooting method is going to stay since it seems to me its really not complete yet.
I could be missing something so please let me know what you think as coming from the Hero I am a bit confused
wow, not 1 opinion.........this is weird for this forum
There is already answers in this very forum page, you didn't even looked once before posting the question. Yes, you can do the OTA Update.

man oh man, I post a question in Q&A, and this guy wants to talk trash on his second post since 09' you are truly an asset to this community
If you do update you are going to want to get ready to install atk to kill the calendar app. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695515
I did not use the phone pre update so I have to say the update is actually good beyond the calendar issue. The other sprint bloatware that people are saying are running and draining battery aren't running on their own in the ota.

I would think that a member with your number of posts would know to do so without being asked.
No problem with the Calendar here and I updated, it is something else that is causing the problem. Are you guys that are having that problem rooted?

updates (not what you think)

Hello All,
I have been very lucky to acquire an LG GW910 phone which is now working very well.
My phone has OS version 7.0.7003.0 on it, but I have read that the phones that are currently available are running 7.0.7004. Does anyone know why my phone does not update to the latest version?
Will it receive the update that is expected at the beginning of 2011?
Thanks for your comments

when the phone is a retail (got it in a shop) one than you will get an update but when it is pre-retail(test phone/demo) then I don't know.
this may be a lil condescending but i don't mean it to be as sometimes the simple things get over looked (i know from personal experiences) have you checked that both tick boxes are ticked under the phone update tab in settings. I know the phone is supposed to check under wifi or when plugged in anyway but i wouldn't put my faith in this.
Hello,
Don't worry... I didn't take your comment badly... yes... both options are checked, and I have also asked the Zune client to check for updates.
The phone was won at one of the developers conferences, but I don't think that makes a difference does it? Why would a developer not receive the updates for their phone?
Oh well... when the update comes out, I am sure that I will then find out if I get it!!
If anyone can confirm if I will or will not get the update, your comments are much appreciated.
Regards.
nebc100
My request for confirmation:
From the Pdf I got from WMPoweruser I read that updates on WP7 will not require any reinstallation, it will be seamless process - after update you get your phone at the same state it was before.
Anyone?
Anyone.........?

Ok I see. Well apparently this is what official MS paper says.....

[Q] has anyone got the samsung firmware update?

I stopped by the other S4 forum (i9500/i9505) and noticed users reporting a new firmware update. Some mentioned faster transitions and camera updates as well as some other things.
Has anyone got a Ota of this? Or would we (T mobile) not get it?
Also wondering... if your rooted, would you even get a notification about it?
Thnx

The firmware of the international version is not the same as firmware released by carriers. Carriers add a lot of stuff to their firmware and they do their own testing on them. It may take months for a carrier to release an update after the international version got it.
Since this is a new phone, I am sure T-Mobile will eventually release an update (most likely several updates). Just be patient.

I found a website that has manual firmware updates for the different variations, but unfortunately I didn't save it. It's out there though, just Google it and I'm sure you'll run across it like I did, sorry couldn't be more assistance, if I find it again I'll post the link.
Edit: Okay I found it quicker than I thought I would, lol. Here's the link, hope it helps:

Thanks for the clarification and info guys.
Definitely patient.. I dont have many issues w my s4 except home key timing, so I was hoping for fix.
Maybe some one can take a look at new firmware and see if there is any info within that could benefit our (tmo) devices?
I would do it but im not as proficient and knowledgable as some of our other members.

I have the i9500 and got the update a few days ago. The description from the update manager was "improved stability" which means they are ironing out the kinks. Another thing that is going to be updated and will surely be on your variant is locked kernels. This is a kernel level that blocks superuser from even executing code. Workarounds will have to be found/kernels compiled.

if you're referring to the home button lag, then just disable s voice like everybody else did, even back in the days of the S3. go into the s voice app and hit the settings button on lower left of your phone, then tap settings, then un-check the 2nd option "open via the home key".
as far as updates, t-mo is usually the 1st or 2nd carrier to get it in the US, but nothing yet. i'm hoping they'd fix the camera shutter lag that i love from the old s3. sigh...

Request from 12A users and those with touchscreen issues

Hello all. I'm looking into a few things and need the full set of 12A partitions from someone that got stuck on it. I can help walk you through retrieving them if need be.
Also, if you're rooted and are consistently experiencing touchscreen issues on any fw revision please get in touch. Email is best (in my profile).
Thanks.
EDIT: I have the 12A partitions (thanks again, Paul!), so all I need now is to hear from people with the touchscreen issues. If you want, you can just email me a dmesg log taken immediately after a fresh boot. Everything I need at this point is in there. You can do so on the device or with an app like syslog from the play store.
EDIT2: Thanks for the reports/logs, everyone. I posted a thread in the G4 General section looking for more data on a possible correlation of touchscreen issues to panel manufacturer. Though in the end (between this post and the few votes there) I received 68 confirmed cases of the JDI panel to 1 for the LGD, one is enough to eliminate that as a proven indicator. I'm still going to look into verifying that the 12A update did, in fact, fix these problems, and if so, I'll put something together for those who want it. I will also look into integrating a fix for the ipv6 issue. Please don't ask for ETAs, however. When it's ready, I'll let you know.
Why not just download the image and look into that? I downloaded it a while back, somebody posted a link to mega somewhere that actually works. But you can't install it on your phone without having had the boot loader updated by the OTA first.
read my post again. I'm not looking for the system img. I already have that.

I got one for free using the multiple rebate/discount thing. Still not sure if I'll be keeping it without a bl exploit, but figured I'd look into a couple of the more common issues while I have it at least.

Hey there...check my edit in the OP for what I need from those w/touchscreen issues at this point, thanks.
Xdabbeb! You make me very happy. Touchscreen plagues this model because it is the last to receive the update fix.
I am on 11A unrooted. Let me know if you need anything via PM.
Any Chance @xdabbeb, that since you have collected all the partitions that there can be an unofficial update uploaded. I can't stand the random need to correct my texts throughout the day, I would take wifi notification issues over touchscreen issues any day. I know it may be a recipe for a brick for the less savvy users but I am up for the 12a challenge guinea pig position if so. Thanks!
@player911 if you can email a dmesg log after a fresh boot that would be good.
@justlovejoy that should be possible as long as you understand the potential risks. Get in touch via email and I can walk you through it.
Xdabbed, how do i create a dmesg after a fresh boot? I too am plagued by touch screen issues.

Log file sent.
Hi xdabbeb,
Here my dmesg log: http://pastebin.com/XLfPautv
It's from a Verizon G4 on 11A. I don't think I have severe touch screen issues, but I noticed the occasional missed touch. Overall, the screen is also a lot less sensitive and responsive than my previous iPhone.
Good luck with your efforts in fixing the touch screen issues. Glad someone has finally decided to start working on this.
Let me know if you need anything else. I will follow your post for updates.

Use an app like SysLog to get the logs:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog&hl=en
What's the dmesg log? My available options are kernel, last kernel, main, event, audit, modem logs. I'd like to help but I don't know which one to select. My touch screen issues are horrible.
Its the kernel one.

Shouldn't the updates be at same time for everyone?

Hey guys
Shouldn't we all get the updates at same time? Since we are pixels I was expecting to be something similar to apple and when an update rolls out everyone get it...
I'm in beta pp3 and looks like a lot of people got the ota update for pp4 and I did not... How is that possible? Anything that I need to do on my device to get it? I don't want to do it manually I just want to get my OTA updates in time.. There's anyway to push it to my device?
Thanks for your time and help in advance

Yeah, a lot of folks think as you do, however, it doesn't seem to work that way. It can take up to a week before everyone gets their OTA. You could go to settings/system/system updates and see if it comes through. Other than that, if you don't want to do it manually, patience is your best ally

The carriers push it out????
Google does stage roll-outs. It can take up to 2 weeks for everyone to get it.
If time is an issue for you, they provide factory images, as well as OTA files for download and manual application.
Staged roll outs are the only way servers and bandwidth do not exceed limits. If not they would be a kind of dos attack on themselves.
It's a patient roll out...
I just restarted the phone and I got the update instantly... But while tapping to check for updates no... So weird ??*
