Batterysmooth, customizable, stable and frequently updated rom? - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Hi, I want to find something to replace the stock OOS, and is there any rom that meets following requirement?
Good battery life
Fairly balanced performance
Stable
Frequently updated
Fairly customizable
I find many custom roms doesn't have advanced reboot which can be useful in certain scenarios So a Advanced reboot toggle would be even better
And also it would be nice if you guys know a kernel that helps with the battery life:angel:

stock OxygenOS ROM + RenderZenith kernel+magisk+greenify(add most of the apps except messenger apps)+aggressive doze+extra(google camera fix and port)+ditch Oneplus camera
the combinatiin I mentioned is the smoothest experience you will ever have on the 5t
beside the battery is excellent and the stand bye time is superb

Treskmod

Havoc OS by far has the most customization options I've ever seen in 10 years and is great on battery and theming
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/development/rom-havoc-os-t3813180

Try havoc os may be the best tom out there for 5t.

No it's actually a very speedy ROM. I was running ressurection remix for a good while and found this rom to be a bit more responsive and faster. I also flashed the hotplug enabled kernel by koloses and a few Xposed modules to make the phone even more faster and have a better battery life. And until a stable Oreo ROM comes out I will stick to this setup as I have no reason to change because I don't think I can make the phone any faster or better than how it is now

Stability and performance of oreo based roms?

Are the available oreo based rom better than the viper os 3.1.1 based on 7.1.2 wrt to battery life, performance and heating?
And can cam2 api be enabled on viper 3.1.1?
Nope...none of the oreo roms are better than it.

Yes you can enable camera 3 api on Viper. I have used Viper for a long time, it is really good I thing that it has been the longest time with out changing the rom. But the last 2 versions of AEX are realy realy good, i cant say better but realy close.I currently use aex, because I like tu have the latest software, even if I don't use the new features. Aex had some very big issues with performance, but they are fixed now.

Try nitrogen OS.. as smooth if not more than viper.. march security patches.. looks wise as well just like viper.. very good rom.. negligible heating.. dev is same as well for both jneto3000 .. i did not stay as i have weak network in my area and custom roms already suffer from weaker signal as compared to stock plus no video call in volte.. so had to go back to stock but definitely a good rom
Did anyone try BootleggersROM 2.1-STABLE ? Is it smooth and battery friendly like ViperOS 7.1.2 ?

It works on all nougat roms. I'm using it with DU 11.6 after flashing camera blobs + Heliox Kernel.
You can just flash the zip.

If you don't need volte, try jaguar( great performance+ security+battery )
If you don't care heat, battery, try pixel experience (stable AF )
Imo non treble ROMs are having great battery+ perfomance Like carbon ROM , havoc, etc
I don't recommend to try ROMs with kronikcore kernel.it is not performing over time.
Recommended to use ROMs built upon mahek's device tree.
Older builds of aex, aicp( once my favourite ) were very good. But after treble, I feel that it heats/lost perfomance.
Started to lag after a week.
Choose wisely
PS: It is my personal opinion.
try havoc... other than laggy recent menu its the best rom with volte working.. dot os wont get updated now otherwise it is also very smooth... until android p comes im staying non treble rom

Android 9 & Custom ROMs

Hi,
I don't want to get into a debate about which custom ROM is the best. (The one you pick is likely the best for you right?) What I do want to get a handle on is people's experience with custom ROMs and Android Pie.
Is there a custom ROM that has done a better job at integrating the features of Pie after moving on from Oreo, and that currently is at an acceptable useful level?
There are a few out there currently, and they seem to have been working for a bit, but is it worth it to flash a daily driver to a Pie based ROM at this stage, or wait for awhile?
Thanks for your help,
Clay

Yah There are so many roms out there but i will suggest you to go With Pixel Experience
i have switched many roms from last 2 months But whenever i switch I have never get the smoothness that i get from PE
Latest version of PE (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3830197) has almost no more bugs and it uses Android 9: PixelExperience_whyred-9.0-20181119-0216-OFFICIAL.zip
It's updated to recent security patches and works great.
Definitely usable for daily uses!
I'm using AOSP Extended Pie. So far, so good. It hasn't blown up my daily driver yet, so <fingers crossed>.

I'm using LineageOS 15.1 as daily driver. Yesterday I tried AOSPExtended Rom 6.0 and Havoc-OS. In my opinion AOSPExtended runs great but I didn't find an privacy manager like LineageOS. As second I tested Havoc-OS. Havoc-OS has implemented privacy manager. But In the Pixel Launcher in Havoc-OS I didn't find a option to deactivate the Google search bar.
But both ROMs looks very great.
OT: For my personal use, I don't want GoogleServices and PixelLauncher. F-Droid and Yalp store is enough for me. For my tests with Havoc-OS, of course, I replaced the Pixel Launcher with another Launcher from F-Droid.
Revolution OS Pie is very smooth and stable and has an awesome battery life
MCaosp best custom ROM Android Pie so far I have tested. Well-balanced. 120k on antutu and lots of drums.

What is the most stable GSI for this phone?

I'm not a huge fan of MIUI, so I would like to try some GSIs. Is there a GSI that's stable for daily use and with no bugs?
I've found that by now most of them are if you add the two manual vendor fixes required for Bluetooth and brightness.
The one downside though is that you lose VoLTE access and that MTP is broken if you're coming from a Oreo-based MIUI build.
Phh-treble AOSP is a base for almost all available gsi roms. Since PHH is the leanest purest AOSP of all, my guass would be that any derivative adds some bugs. BTW, phh 108 has December security patch, that matters in some cases (see a list of known critical issues disovered and fixed recently)

So pixel dust, this rom dont have a ton of features...... both have less than miui. But these romes are not stable, i had problems with some apps on every gsi.... I dont recommend them. Better stay on miui and wait for normal custom rom for our max 3.

Just so far I'd say :silly:! When you start getting random pesky ads, your first action would be to search for a custom ROM! (BTW, I'm on a Redmi 7, and am waiting for custom ROMs)!
