Mobilephonesdirect shipping SILVER Devices

Just letting everyone know that having questioned mobilephonesdirect.co.uk they have confirmed that the only Desires they are shipping are Silver/Graphite.
I have asked them to change the website to advise of this and to email all customers who have pre-ordered already.
They are not getting any Brown ones.
Not sure i want a silver one

Just a heads up, MPD will not deal with any customer service issue after you've taken delivery, they refer you to HTC. I had problems within a week and they wouldn't help me.

Really! I've never even seen or heard of a silver/graphite model. If this is true they'll get a fair few cancellations.

i can second this, after sales are truly rubbish, had an issue with my TP2 when I brought. Only had 10 days and they would not deal with me. Won't buy from these again soley based on there after sales.

Silver/Graphite doesn’t look so bad ? I’m getting one in few weeks.

I called mobilephonesdirect again today and they don't seem to know what's going on.
They advise that they are getting Graphite devices, but searching on-line the only colours I can find are brown or silver.
One of their staff said it would be the silver one and now another has said it is the brown
I did raise my concerns and they advised that if the phone I receive is not the one shown in the picture on their website then I can return it

edit: looks like MPD are now confirming they are selling brown.

Just received a mail from them that contradicts this. I asked them specifically if they were selling the brown which was the one used on their website, and they said...
"The handset we have depicted on our website is in fact the Brown but we will be selling the Graphite"

I don't know about you all, but my definition of the colour 'Graphite' is more like a dark charcoal kind of colour instead of something that looks silver/grayish...
HTC itself only defines Silver & Brown (which is same as the hero and that is definetly more black-ish than silver-ish...)
Thus, the 'Graphite' simply must be the 'brown' version in my humble opinion.

omg! I didn't think about this at all! I ordered mine from tre.se, and the confirmation says it's grey! I'm kinda disappointed. The picture on the website is brown, and you never get to choose colour during the ordering process
You have to go all the way in to the full specifications to see the colour.
Well, I'll get used to the grey one I guess....

This is my opinion too. The supposedly "brown" version doesn't look remotely brown either in any photo. All very confusing. How difficult can it be to choose a phone's colour name based on it's actual colour? I've pre-ordered from MPD and am not too keen on the silver version so hopefully I'm correct in thinking I'll get the one pictured.

Other people have and it doesn't sound like they know themselves. If sent the silver I'd settle for it. If I was buying the phone for it's looks I'd go for the Legend.

I'm thinking about getting one from mpd, was looking getting the payg on vodafone rather than the simfree(~£50 difference). anyone know if it'll be unlocked or not? I recently got the o2 £15/month simplicity for smart phones 12month so not looking at a new contract.
carphone warehouse and it's affilate websites(mobiles.co.uk, e2save etc) sell unlocked handsets, be it on contract or payg. so I was wondering if mpd do the same thing, some one on the ocuk forums said that they emailed asking if the phone was unlocked, but it was regarding the ones on contract so not 100% sure about the payg one.
I am a bit sceptical buying from mpd reading some of the comments on here plus reviews on them from customers on another websit(can't remember the name of the site off the top of my head). have a store like 6miles from me so hopefully they'll be more helpful then the call centre.

I think that picture is an old render from before the final design was decided on. Hence the non-standard colour, and different buttons/optical trackpad.
I don't think a black model exists.

I wouldn't worry.
The default "brown" looks great under normal light, but once you go outside and the sun beams down, the blimming phone looks a salmony pinky colour. I kid you not. My phone turns gay in the sun!!! lol

I cancelled my order from this site after reading a forum with complaints as long as your arm, loads had sent there phones back with issues and took up to 1 month to get them sorted, it seems they have very very bad after sales and i thought its not worth the hassle.

is there anyone with a 128 gb variant of the device

I have the 128gb black unlocked version, 11/26 build date. If I look at my phone like a normal person would.. from pretty much straight on up to about 45 degrees (in any direction) I see no blue tint. At an angle greater than 45 degrees, I see the blue tint...
My opinion is, that's perfectly fine for me. It doesn't affect my viewing pleasure, only those people that are looking over my shoulder or trying to peek at my screen and shouldn't be.

Black 128gb. Blue tint is noticeably better than that of my Oct. 24th build date first unit. But still there at some angles. Which is ok, I didn't even notice it on my first one in day to day use.

I bought the first phone from BB in early december. I RMA'd it late december direct from Google. Google shipped me a brand new Verizon Pixel 2 XL from Illinois 2 days after CHristmas.

I have the November Black model as well. Since I use the phone like a normal person I don't see the blue tint.

How do we find the manufacturer date?
I ordered two black 128 devices. Both had the same blue tint when viewing more than 20 degrees or so off center. First was in October, but sent it back (long story). Second was ordered in Cyber Monday (end of Nov).

Nah, 128GB black unlocked here, manufacture date of Nov 7th even though I didn't buy it until 21st Dec from Carphone Warehouse. Haven't experienced any of the "many" reported faults, and blue shift is more than acceptable, no worse than the red/pink shift on my Note 8.

My 128GB version was made Oct. 29th and it's fine. I do get black smearing but that seems to be software. Blue tint not an issue for me (and I am picky about the display).
I am uncertain that the manuf date makes that big of a difference. I have been hanging out here, reddit, and Android Central forums a few times daily keeping track of Pixel stuff and I don't think that there is a huge difference in the displays from Nov to Dec. from what folks have reported.

all i know is the panda is way better then both my black versions were and that my nov 25th had a pretty blueless tint display just hope this one does too!

Yeap, that's the one I was going to buy but I was certain only blue is available for EVR-L29. All the other sellers online (ebay, amazon, wondamobil, etc...) only do EVR-L29 in blue. He's the only one doing silver. Interesting.

Got it in silver bought it from mobyshop Singapore they have international shipping methods.

Ye you often see the blue one or china version in silver, there are some reviews from South Asian regions youtubers where you can sometimes see a view of it.
Not really good at photos and still have the back film on the phone but you can get an idea :

Exactly my thoughts

It depends on the region it's sold in. I know in Malaysia it's sold in both blue and silver, while in Hong Kong it's in blue only.
Silver does exist, it's just more rare.

I'm referring to EVR-L29, the global model.
Not EVR-AL00 the mainland China model. EVR-AL00 comes in more configurations. Silver, blue, 128G, 256G.

Rebranding a Chinese Mate 20 series phone isn't possible. They will probably add play store, but that's the extent of what they can do.

who cares about the color? I assume you will throw a case on it anyway... ?

It's not. Trust me. My full time job is reverse-engineering Huawei devices.
Many of the Chinese resellers who rebrand phones are my customers.
If someone tells you it is, they're mistaken. They're either scamming you, or they don't realize the changes in oeminfo for the Kirin 980 generation of phones. The oeminfo is encrypted/signed for each individual device, and modifying the regional branding isn't possible. Having a fully rebranded device isn't possible. Nobody has developed a way to do it, and sadly, it's looking unlikely to be able to fully rebrand the phone.
I'm only telling you to help you not get scammed. I'll be very impressed if you prove me wrong.

It's not an issue of being able to write to the memory of the phone. Anyone can do this with an unlocked bootloader. The issue is the regional branding of the phone, and the inability to change it from all/cn to something else due to device-specific signing/encryption.
It's fine if you don't believe me, but I think you will be disappointed with what happens if you trust they can do it.

It seems that you have been very, very badly misinformed about both Huawei's production process and the relevancy of region/branding. Still, I'm very interested to see what the reseller ends up doing, so please let us know.

I did a quick search for EVR-L29 Malaysia and did come up with a midnight blue or phantom silver for sale on Expansys.

Ye Malaysia and Singapore are the only known regions that i know of which have both color EVR-L29, I'm not sure about 3rd party sellers, if it's true or not but since i bought it from an official seller/store, i have the phone and it's legit EVR-L29 phantom silver but not sure about the others. You're also covered with the 2 years Huawei warranty + mpen and smart cover free (maybe a limited time offer).
Most EVR-L29 from resellers are coming from HK supply and HK only have Blue for now in global version, that's why you see most of the time Blue ones.

Where to buy Note 10+ in Aura Blue?

Hi Folks,
Apologies if incorrect forum.
I'm looking to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ / N9750 (Snapdragon variant) in the Aura Blue colour, new or pristine condition.
Tried numerous sites (Ebay, Tobydeals, AliExpress, practically any half reputable looking store on Google search, all the eglobalcentral's, in all languages!), contacting sales teams at each etc but to no joy...
Don't really need 5G, live in the middle of the sticks (UK/Ireland).
Don't really want any other colour, seen the Aura Blue and it just looks gorgeous.
Don't want the UK model, as someone eloquently described "its like buying a Lamborghini and opening the engine bay only to find a large cow pat inside"

Anyone any advice?

Since this phone lives or should live 100% of its life in a case I would be more concerned about getting the 512 gb 12 gb ram variant than color.
This phone needs a good case; the bevel is nonexistent, it's heavy and loves to land on its corners when not face planting. You can get Bolt cases in a variety of colors and they work great with the 10+

I've been doing that dude, for about 6 weeks or more checking in now and again.

It is a Best Buy exclusive here in the usa. It is my fav phone.

Disregard, just seen that the frame is also blue on the Aura blue...

The 10+ is holding its value surprisingly well due to the soft economy and Samsung's goof ups on its latest flagship phones.
Might want to grab the black. Not that much difference.
The blue is scarce due to demand; I be more concerned with getting the 512 gb variant rather than color.

Where would you go then for UK person to buy a new one?
eglobal and usual are seemingly OOS.

I have the aura glow one and it's lovely but shows dirt even when in a clear case, it's impossible to keep clean.
I think the best option is to buy a aura blue back and fit it myself. I think it would look brilliant with the silver frame where if you buy the phone in aura blue it's a blue matching frame which doesn't look as good.
All you need to get the old one off is a hair dryer and a suction cup.

I've bought the white 8/256 from Amazon ( Italy ) and they say it will arrive on the 16th of April.
What about yours? What platform have you bought it from and when will it arrive?

Me, too (same seller, storage, color and ETA).

I bought mine on the POCO store Italy, 6/128 white.
Estimated arrival time is between the 9th and 13th of April.

I ordered mine on the 30th from a Dutch retailer, 8/256 black. Should arrive in about one hour

I got it a few hours ago. First thing I did was remove all the bloatware with the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools. The phone looks and feels great, coming from a Oneplus 3, this is a major upgrade. The display is awesome and the UI is nice and snappy. There is however one problem with the phone and that is the haptic feedback motor. It makes a sound like plucking a rubber band with a lot of tension on it... Putting the haptic feedback up to max produces a crackling or popping sound.
The retailer I got it from has a 31-day no reason required return policy. I think I'll keep mine until the white model becomes more readily available and then swap it. Until then I'll just turn off haptic feedback altogether. If anyone has a similar problem, please let me know.

Order it (black 8GB/256GB) one minute before the official start at Amazon Germany, should arrive at 9th of April.

I should get mine on 12th of April.
Sadly Amazon didn't list the deep ocean blue one, so I went with the black 8/256.

spain, because i bold it too quickly and it is not the phone i need.. don't want to have more or less the same phone than i had before, and the camera sensor it is the same...

Bought mine from Poco Store on Aliexpress on the first minute of launch day, 8/256 black cause I rly can't find white/blue phones nice to look at, had a xiaomi note 9 that I sold a couple of months ago and rly did not enjoy the blueish color. Hoping to receive mine in 14 days, already in transit to where I live (China - Brazil).

Got my from poco official store inside Lazada app. Its been ship frm China. Pre order on 27 March. Some of those who ordered 30 mins after pre order open already have theirs ship. My ordered 1 min after pre order open at 12.01am is just packed. China is having national holiday atm for few days so I hope they start working again on Monday. Hopefully I will receive it end of next week? Or max in 10~14 days time.

Bought my 8/256 black at release date and it should arrive on friday.

Finally they started shipping my. If no customs delay I might get it next few days.
