Since we have the Pixel 2 XL, we have all of the latest camera features like portrait mode, and AR stickers and such. However one of the things those apps enable that are not stock is RAW/DNG capture from Google Camera. Has anyone tried apktool on just the stock Google Camera app to enable it?
By now there is no Google app or mod that is able to do it.
In my Pixel XL 1st Gen I use ProShot. It lets you shoot photos on RAW+JPEG and it has a great design and very functional features (depth of field, manual focus, ISO, shutter speed, white balance, temperature, compression level on JPEG, etc.)
While taking pictures in aperture mode the camera shows the aperture is applied.. but after I have actually clicked the picture and try to view it there is no aperture or bokeh applied. Even the icon that is used to change the aperture length from gallery after picture is clicked is not showing up.
This was from emui 5.1 and still persists in emui 8.0
Gcam 8.4 for moto g40 fusion and g60.
Functions,
1. Dslr effect for both front and back camera.
2. Night mode with astrophotography working.
3. Front camera upscaled from 4mp to 12mp.
4. Back camera upscaled to 20mp
5. Wide angle camera upscaled to 18mp.
Note: Upscaling to high Megapixel increases its size as well.
Only issue, selfie mirror not working but works in portrait mode.

Xml is Dslr edited for moto g40/g60 devices.
I have only edited the xml rest work is done by ultimate gcam modder "Shamim".

Ultra wide images are much much better l, especially in low light conditions. Thanks for this build.

Front camera Upscaling fixed to 12mp.
Back camera upscaled to 20mp fixed.
So photo size remains normal.

Camera crashes when night mode requires more processing i.e when used dark environment or challangeing condition it crashes while processing image but in decent lightning when I use night mode it doesn't crash. (All these Crash occurs only when configs are applied and I tested with all the three configs and it crashed in all of them but without configs it doesn't crash in any condition ). Otherwise I loved it especially the ultrawide camera.
I can't apply the config file , it always says config not found. Please help

Do all these XML are for different work, or the newer Version covers the previous updates too ? For example, does V9 also has features of V8 and previous ones, or does it just have only V9 features ?
And can I use the App only for overall camera uses or should I use XMLs ? And if yes, then which Version of XML is best for overall camera uses ? like a all-rounder XML.

After applying the config, there will be wide option on the screen and use it

Portrait photos are blurred even after focus and all, selfies are not flipped except portrait, please fix that. I'm using DSLR vX configuration...

What update you need. Gcam or that dslr xml?
I'm a total noob in terms of GCam functionalities. So, reading this, I was just wondering what are those xmls all about, and how to use them.
I got the answer here.
So, in case anyone else has the same question, there's your answer. It would probably be a good idea to include it (or include some sort of instructions on how to use the xmls) within the main post.

and why would you want 50 times zoom?

so between 5x and 20x its just digital zoom (but very impressive). The 7 Pro has a new Res Zoom feature that is part of the new Tensor2 chip, so if you want the best zoom, get the Samsung S22 or 7 Pro.
If you are looking for a GCAM app (google camera modified camera app), there's one made by MWP specifically for Pixels, found here. Use the first non-beta build from March (it doesn't have any further zoom capabilities but does have a number of manual settings that can be changed in the camera app).
Yes what he said. Once you zoom past the physical lens, all its doing is CROPPING the image.
