Hi, this is CarbonoidOS by CarbonROM.
These are pre-release builds that are meant for public testing. It is released under the CarbonoidOS name to differentiate itself from official CarbonROM builds. Please read up as much as you can before posting any questions in this thread.
For those that follow us, you know that we have been grinding since the hour the first few Android Pie repositories dropped. The Core-Team, ROM, and device developers have been collectively working on getting private builds up to our release standards, which we are still far from. I have been specifically working on feature bring up, a link to my progress will be somewhere below. Although I have been running these builds as my daily driver, I do not recommend these builds to the average user. Flash at your own risk, but try to have fun.
Disclaimer:
These builds are considered personal and are not sanctioned by CarbonROM. They include Google Apps and have not been tested with any other packages, aside from the TWRP installer. There will be bugs. The point of these builds is not to solve device side bugs, but to give a sneak peek of what the features of cr-7.0 will be. These builds are different from the unofficial builds that will be posted later. You will not be able to transition to those builds from these without clean flashing.
When posting bug reports, do:
Provide details of additional modifications
Provide any logs possible
But don't:
Leave any of the above out
Post without reading the whole OP
Quote the whole OP
Expect me to address any bug reports
Tag me in bug reports thinking I'll address them
If you don't follow these simple guidelines I will probably ignore you.
Known bugs (not working):
None that I know of

Can confirm, installing the Oreo supported Google Camera app and Pixel Launcher works.

What Gapps to use?
Edit: OK, Gapps included ?
Edit2: May I ask which Gapps you include?

I'm using a private GApps repo, the collaborators are not letting it out to the public due to previous issues (I heard there's an unofficial OpenGApps floating around...)

Can you point in the direction towards those GAPPS?
OpenGapps aren't working for me (unofficial ones)

Sure: https://bitbucket.org/xanaxdroid/vendor_googleapps/

I know the this rom is in beta, but how is it for whoever's running it. I wanna flash it but just wanna find out if there's anything that might hold back certain people from using it. I'd flash it in a heartbeat but stuck at work and no way to go back to stock if I decide it isn't that stable enough. Thanks for any feedback.

Awesome work Adin and Carbon team, thanks!! :highfive:

I know this is super optimistic but is there an option to adjust transparency of notification drawer?

Can't say this is a priority but i'll stay on the look out for those patches.
Speaking of launcher stuff, @Surge1223 fixed Pixel Launcher, will be included in the next build among other things!

Somehow back camera works for snap tho.

Thanks G!!!!
The only issue I had was some pretty consistent crashing of ambient display... however if I let the phone reboot and waited for the system to time out/screen off (at Boot by itself) and then powered up/unlocked it would work without incident.
Everything.. Bluetooth-GPS-Calls-Data-NFC works. Very smooth and I can't wait to see the finished product. I try not to post too much, but really I need to say Thank You.
@ FkM and @draymond1987. Every one of you guys is outstanding (including OP). Just want all of you guys to know how much it is appreciated by the community to have all of these options. @deedwar @Pimpmaneaten and the ABC team... I am the result of constant trial & error and following the friggin instructions.... Been Flashing since like 2010 (I don't really don't know what year it is now) and all you guys just keep on going... keep killin' it, my friggin hero's... :good: There are 10000 more people in the background working on this s*** and please feel free to forward it (if they would care for a pat on the back) . Keep 'em coming... Great work!
>>>This is what I do instead of my alternative addictions.... My heart hasn't stopped yet from this one (haven't woken up in hospitals/jails/or other places they put people like me either... well... yet... LOL).<<< Know it or not, helping me, at least, a day at a time.

Thanks for your kind words! Off topic: @deedwar has been an amazing help to me. and taught me a lot. I just am a simple builder. Other devs, including OP, have answered questions too. I still am building, behind the scenes. OP is certainly awesome for dropping the first Pie build, as I'm aware of!

Cherry pick list
* CyanogenMod's latest merges: http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/q/status:merged+branch:cm-12.1,n,z
* CyanogenMod's Github: http://github.com/cyanogenmod
This is a kang of CM12 with cherry picks from CyanogenMod’s Gerrit Instance, compiled by a group of volunteers that enjoy learning about and building CyanogenMod and Android in general. All credit goes to cyanogen, #teamdouche and the coders who submit to Gerrit. Thank you to @RyanMacG for providing Euroskank hosting.
These builds are bleeding-edge, most comparable to a nightly build, and are not meant for inexperienced users. Things will be broken and crash from time to time, you need to accept that this isn't stable by any means before flashing. Nandroid as often as possible.
How to post useful, informative bug reports:
Sometimes dev's actually check out our threads, or sometimes we have a good relationship with a dev or two. These bleeding-edge builds will have issues, and having good information on what's broken is great feedback before a feature is merged. Here are some good bug reporting tips:
* No bug reports while using custom kernels or add-ons:
CyangenMod's own bug reporting tool does not accept bug reports from people using non-stock kernels for a reason, so why should we? CM can merge changes to their kernel causing custom kernels to break things until they catch up. Therefore, please do not post any bug reports while using a custom kernel or add-on such as Xposed Framework. Post your issues with custom kernels in their own respective threads as they are the ones who need to play catch up. Any bug report posted in this thread should be while running CM's stock framework and kernel, as this prevents unnecessary clutter.
* Gapps are not a CM issue:
CyanogenMod is built to run without the assistance of Google's proprietary apps (gapps). Having issues with your Google account and syncing is a gapps issue, not a CM issue. Please do not post about any gapps related issues, just wipe data and try a different gapps package.
* Posting about the same bug every build:
Beating a dead horse with "bug X still isn't fixed" posts just adds unnecessary clutter and provides no help into actually fixing the issue. Some bugs take days to squash, some take weeks. Please don't report the same bug every time a build is uploaded.
* Logs:
Provide logcats when applicable. Use a service like Pastebin and put a link to the log in the post. Please do not post logs directly to the forum.
If these requests are too demanding, there's good news! CyanogenMod is open source, so please feel free to download the source code, compile your own builds volunteering your time and resources, then start a thread and run it however you see fit. All we simply ask is that people post good, reliable information that can be passed on to a developer that can actually do something with it, making CM a better product for everyone involved.

Do you have apps and adb set for root? Did you come from a different rom? ie a 4.2.2 rom?

[ROM][03-12-13] Andromadus - CM10.2 & CM11.0 - Vision

I guess you've been waiting for this for quite a long time.
So I felt I should upload at least something and stop keeping these builds secret.
Before we start...
This is unstable. VERY unstable, compared to my latest CM10.1 build.
By the way, I had to remove CM10.1 build environment because I have no space left on SSD. No more CM10.1 builds from me, sorry
On a positive note, this build has (compared to CM10.1):
Camera button options (wake/unlock/peek/playback control) — I put this feature upstream. Try it, it's cool
Flash sync is fine
KSM works again (it just magically fixed itself)
DSPManager doesn't suddenly get unloaded from memory and break your listening experience
Persian language for hardware keyboard. The whole hardware keyboard support has been reworked.
Newer Trebuchet, with live folders, icon pack support and other stuff
RAM is about 150 MBytes free with Theme Chooser enabled

How to install?
The usual process, nothing different here.
1: backup
2: wipe
3: install the ROM
4: install Google Apps. I prefer PA GApps "Mini Modular Packages".
How do I report bugs?
Now that's important.
I've set up an issue tracker to prevent cluttering this thread.
Keep in mind that a bug report without a logcat/dmesg or at least a precise description of a bug wouldn't help anyone.
If you stumble upon anything strange — try to reproduce it (and save a logcat, just in case).
Pro-tip: use "adb logcat -C" to colorize the output and make it easier to read! (not sure if this works on Windows, though)
Unfortunately, there are bugs that are caused by CM devs or Google (GApps are buggy, too). I'll close these bug reports, because I just can't fix that. I'm not a magician
Issues we already aware of:
EGL: flashy CRT animation (disable it) and buggy hwcomposer (icons/widgets suddenly blacked out is also caused by it). This was the major show-stopper.
Switching SELinux to Enforcing mode will instantly make the phone freeze. Don't do this!
Trackpad wake/unlock doesn't work, and there's no way to enable it. I use "pure" CM frameworks_base that doesn't have these features baked in.
Camcorder FCs when you try to un-pause video recording.
[Fixed] AOSP Keyboard FCs if you don't install GApps — install them
[Fixed] Mobile data is unstable — edit build.prop to fix the issue.
Issue you should be aware of: (non ROM-related)
Don't buy Samsung laptops, they have display hinges made of a sh*tty plastic.

Please don't make additional mirrors. Instead, ask me to mirror the file myself.
Why? I need to keep control of builds, and remove/replace them if something goes really wrong.
Kitkat?
While I still prepare my build environment for Kitkat and applying some patches to make it compile, you can have a build provided by guest1.
Initially, it was built purely for ringtone bug testing (factoid: every other htc msm7x30 device has ringtone shutting off randomly. I don't know why), but I think that'll do it for giving you an overview of what does CM11 look like at the moment.
This is even more unstable!
4.4 is also slower for some reason (probably because of different qcom_display repo used for it).
I did almost no tests with it, so there's probably a lot more to fix.
Google Drive link for 4.4: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5ahny5WGurFS1Z3N3N6V0xsSVk/edit?usp=sharing
MD5 checksum: 4ba38cc9fe4879687d0a279d0fbc0ced
Once this gets a tad more stable I am going to for sure try this out. I just flashed a fresh rom today and I'm trying to limit the fact I flash a rom at least 7-15 times a week (it's addicting, what can I say).

I think, that we'll wait for kitkat for a long time yet... desire z isn't as famous as earlier, community is less and phones with HW qwerty as well.
BUT I'm a still faithful user and BIG THANKS for this great piece of rom and great work from devs! Thank you!
great news!!!! thanks hitted
Let's not clamor for Kitkat yet. The Galaxy S4 got a stable-ish build of Kitkat just a few days ago, and it'll take a while for unstable builds to come out from the official CM tree. When that happens, development will trickle down here.
I mean, I would like to maintain my always-faithful-if-slow backup phone. It's gotten me through some times when my other primary phones went dead on me.
I get server connection errors in the Google Play store with this ROM and the linked GApps. Is anyone else having this problem?
I can actually connect to the store fine, it's the downloading or updating of apps that it errors out on.

Go to settings --> Storage --> And I think there should be a cache storage size for the sd card+internal rom, clear those, sign out of your google account then sign back in! At least I think those are the steps, I can't fully recall
That did it! Thanks! In all the years I've had an android phone I've never had to do that after flashing a rom.

Yeah, from my research a few days ago on that problem it seems to be common in 4.3 roms for some unknown reason. I'm glad I could help!
I made an issue tracker.
That'd be easier to track bugs and get feedback without constantly quoting each other on forum pages. (because forums are linear)
I also decided to try to adapt some Sony/Samsung MSM7x30 changes. Maybe they've been more successful than we were?
If I were you, I would give up developing Android 4.3 and focus on preparing 4.4. But I am not a developer and I possibly don't know something so...
Anyway, thanks for making Android 4.3 happen on our Desire Z and good luck!
I will wait for 4.4 though.

Valid point.
The thing is, 4.4/CM11 is in early stage yet, and it will still need the same work I'm doing for 4.3 (plus, camera is broken on other MSM7x30 devices).
4.3 is at least able to boot

Hello again,
After the success of my AOSPAL builds, I thought I'd branch out a little.
So, in the words of Monty Python, "And for something completely different."
I wanted to find a ROM that offered features and customization options. Unfortunately most of the ROMs out now are either very early in development (and don't offer much over the stock AOSP experience). There are exceptions -- Illusion, LiquidSmooth -- but they already have builds for the d851. So I spent hours of painstaking research 30-45 minutes plumbing the depths of the Internet and discovered Android IceCold Project. Active development? Check. Active community and user base? Check. Nice options and a different user experience? Check! I'd found my next project!
Those of you that have read my AOSPAL 5.0 thread will already know this -- so new folks, this is for you: look at my profile and you'll see I've been a member of XDA for several years, and yet I have a shockingly low post count. In fact, the vast majority of my posts here have been in relation to the AOSPAL build. My search-fu and my Google-fu are strong. I search, read, search some more then read some more until I've learned enough to figure it out. I expect everyone that loads this ROM to have strong search and reading skills, and an IQ in the triple digits. I know that somehow, though, someone is going to post questions in this thread that have been asked and answered somewhere else. Not only will I not answer it, I'll waste valuable development time smacking my forehead and staring at my laptop display in stunned disbelief. Also, it makes the baby Cthulu cry.
So with that out of the way...without furhter ado, I present to you AICP Lollipop 0.1! I'll update this post later with a features list and whatnot. I'm also planning on building this ROM using the SaberMod toolchain to see just how much difference it makes -- and I'll make new builds somewhat regularly. I'm actually hoping to get OFFICIAL status on this one.
What's new/changed/updated in the latest build?

Oh Yeah!
Nice,an early morning flash!! Thanks! Will report asap!!!
After such a super high IQ post, definitely know that I'm better waiting for the official CM11…
@CrusherJoe, great to see you taking on another ROM, and one with further tweaks than AOSPA. Thanks for your support.
I flashed about an hour ago, ran it through the usual checks with the Camera, all seems good there. Features are nice, and I noticed that the AOSP keyboard actually has functioning gesture typing. That's a first from all the Lollipop ROMs I've tried so far.
I have found one bug that seems to be present in any and all Lollipop ROMs that incorporate "increasing volume" in the Alarm (Clock) app. And that is that scrolling through alarms (when setting up 4 or more different alarms) doesn't work so well. Screen scrolls maybe 1/16" then stops, and you have to keep scrolling down 1/16" at a time. It's like it loses track of your finger touching the screen.
I've only noticed it in the alarm page of the Clock app, but it could be present in other areas. I'll have to keep track if I find any other buggy scrolling in other apps.
Thanks!

Very impressive build. The aosp keyboard with swype gesture was ?.

There is no SaberMod 4.10. This statement is a lie. The previous statement was also. Or maybe it wasn't.
Damn it.
The later it gets, the weirder I become.
Anyway...no. After running some benchmarks there really wasn't enough of a gain to make it worth it.
However...
... The next special ops build should (I'd I can get the damned thing to actually compile) will include a combination of Linaro/SM-4.8/9/10 and @JustArchi's compiler flag optimizations. That ought to put some sweat on your sack.
I'll announce it and or it up with a plain ol' stock build so everyone can run 'em both and see what a difference that combo makes (assuming it does, that is).
Okay, I'm not sure what got all borked up, but Hangouts VOIP is JACKED to the point of complete uselessness in terms of being a VOIP phone client.
Seriously -- don't flash the 20141210 build if you use Hangouts/Google Voice VOIP telephony functions.
I'll see what I can do about a fix -- I'll keep everyone posted.

Yes! Nice rom. Have it installed on my phone! Most things work fine, but for now you'll have to do without a camera.... Let's hope @vache opens a LOS 15 thread soon to keep us up to date!

Why ask when the post above yours has this info? Please read previous posts BEFORE clogging the thread with this stuff.
Been testing this build for almost 24 hours and no random reboots or anything of that nature. For such an early Oreo build, this build is very decent. Main issues I've found so far
-camera broken
-flashlight not working (probably because of the camera)
-auto rotation is very slow a majority of the time.
With the way vache has been progressing with Oreo, I'm sure these things will be fixed sooner than later!
Can you easily restore a TWRP backup after flashing Oreo? Or does it make any changes which makes reverting to Nougat hard?

Yes you can revert easily. It doesn't make any changes to filesystem so it's easy as just flashing.
Went ahead and installed Oreo on my G5Plus.
Literally impressed, this being a first version and everything. Ended up installing all the applications I usually have on my phone - including root access. Everything went smooth and I didn't encounter any problems. Basically I will use it as a daily driver.
What doesn't work:
* camera
* FM Radio App
* Proximity sensor during calls - screen doesn't turn off by itself
Annoyances - unrelated to development, but more overall Oreo experience:
* not that easy to remove navbar
* all the settings are rearranged so, it's hard to find anything at first
* data usage option - hard to discern between the two SIMs
Don't know yet how battery life is - will get back to you guys.

And I hate substratum: it destabilizes the rom! I like things the way they're meant to be!
But hey! That's just me! Everyone is entitled to have his/her own opinion. [emoji12]

You missed one "!".
Fixed it for you.
My ROM is so destabilized from substratum, that I haven't had to reboot in days. ....please... I swear people just come up with stuff.
Meanwhile, I'm guessing we might not see another O build from vache until he gets camera fixed. Or at least most the bugs left besides camera.

Worked fine on my potter using Verizon towers on straight talk.
I wanted to try this Oreo ROM on my G5 plus but the download requires a password ... is there something I'm missing? Or did vache put this on hold for a while?
---------- Post added at 06:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:04 PM ----------
The 15.0 rom is gone from ROMs/LineageOS/ directory.
A link I have seen to the same file in a different directory (tmp/o) requires a password.

This is an unofficial build for Oreo (8.1.0).
Given timing of achieving this and the likelihood that as of July the big G dropped support of Oreo (among other issues), official status does not look promising now.
If you see something out of place, please post with logs.
At this point there will be no feature requests for this Android Oreo, just looking to stomp out any bugs that remain.
FYI, if you rather hang with Nougat, I have also posted some recently discontinued builds (have used them extensively, but for these you are on your own in terms of support).
Enjoy!
@OfficerJimLahey well this is something I will look forward to flash. You will have full logs whatever I can help you with. Will flash asap and report with oreo. Never thought carbon will be here like this. ?
I played the rom once. So far I have found no mistakes. Will report in the next few days! Thanks in advance

We were never far. I have been working on this for well over a year, with that side journey in Nougat. But until recently, there were ... problems on Oreo.

No problem! Glad to have the kernel issues sorted out (squid2 being the one to thank for that) to make this possible.
Thanks for the New life to Lux.
Its Supercool Rom. Magisk is also working. Changed the dpi to 400 which makes it awesome!
It just seems as Active display is not working as it should be.. when i hold the device, it doesn't display the notifications till i click on the power button.

I have install the ROM on my moto x play ans it's work very well.
Open gapps pico work, camera it's ok, NFS it's OK.
But it's impossible install xda labs. But another aps it's ok
Original charger?
Battery drain doesn't seem all that different from (Moto Stock) Nougat to me - since the WiFi is a pig for battery.

Oh that. New in Android O, you can set other apps to be trusted in installing. Much better than Google Play or always allow unsigned apps. So the app you used to install it just wasn't trusted for the job (yet).
