Power button not working! - Asus Zenfone 5Z Questions & Answers

So these problems just started today:
Power button is unresponsive
Fingerprint is slow(takes 5 sec to screen on after touching)
Phone is marginally slower
no working internet despite symbols showing wifi/data(whatsapp works!!)
Charging light led remains on even after unplugging for varying amounts of time(stays on for b/w 10 sec to 1 min)
Not sure if usb is working because adb doesnt detect it anymore (no usb selection options on phone either)
Time to take it to service i guess, haven't reset yet coz i still have whatsapp access.
Anyone know how to reboot the phone without a power button?

Keep pressing power button for long duration.
Or press and hold vol up +power button

Can't reboot - screen is off

Odd problem here... After charging overnight, My M8 wasn't responsive. I got a few vibration responses out of it, but the screen didn't come on. Now it's dead except for the LED showing a continuous faint green.
Holding the power button down - no response.
Connect to windows PC by usb - Get a 'better with USB3' prompt, but no drive appears.
Connect to linux - 0bb4:061a recognised.
Haven't got access to ADB at the moment (chrome ADB from cwm didn't find anything)
Ideas?
try holding the power button and volume up button for at least 10 seconds and it should hopefully reboot.

Won't Power On / Help

I was using the phone and hit the power button for sleep. Then when I checked it 1 hour later it will not power up. It there a way to reset the phone, this is why I hate phone you can't take the battery out of. But it is just a travel phone and now I am stuck.
Any key combinations or anything! ??!?!
You should be able to just hold the power button until the screen lights up. If that doesn't work hold the power button while connecting the usb c cable to charge it
Power button+volume down for 30 seconds.
Most likely the qdloader 9008 bug.. Volume down and power for 60 seconds always fixes the issue. Either that or let it discharge on its own for a day or so then plug it in and you're good to go!
Hi !
Have anyone sorted this problem with suggestion ?
Mine is getting warm when charging (warmer next to the power button area) but still no led indicator or power ON !??!

T700 touch input no longer works

hi guys,
I recently did something slightly different on my T700 that I've owned for almost 3 yrs now.... I enabled the finger print reader. After that, I noticed some odd behavior over the next few days, but nothing too out of the ordinary.
Anyway a few days later, the touchscreen stopped working. I have a feeling that enabling the fingerprint reader, had something to do with this. The home button works, so does the power and vol +/-. But swiping my fingerprint over the home button does not spark any response, and I cannot enter my backup password at all.
1) I have tried powering off using the power button - this does not work. The power menu appears on the touchscreen and I cannot select it.
2) I've tried holding down the power button for 10+ seconds - this does nothing, which seems odd. Normally this will restart any device after a few seconds.
3) I've tried "power + vol up + vol -" all simultaneously. This forces the device to restart, but the problem is still present.
4) Tried running the battery down, then charging up and turning on... but it's the same outcome as (3).
5) tried wipe data/wipe cache/factory reset... it has gone back to the start-up screen, in Korean.... but the touchscreen still does not work!!!
Please... help me..!!!! lol
Bueller...Bueller.... Anyone...

Phone seems off, wont turn on flashing green LED

My phone has suddenly died today. Unsure how much battery it had when it happened, no issues before.
I lookedat my phone and it appeared to be off but I noticed a notification light flashing. Power button didnt turn the screen on, no volume or softkey interaction either. green LED still flashing (I had just not long before had a message on whatsapp so maybe it was from this).
Whatsapp web shows phone as offline, google shows phone as offline.
Connect it to USB and the laptop notices a device as I get the noise, but doesnt show as a drive in the laptop
connect it to power, nothing comes on the screen.
Call it and it doesnt ring (noise wise or screen)
Cannot reset - power button feels soft (not clicky)
Light still flashes.....
Really stuck any help appreciated.

Could it be possible you have a power button hardware failure. Try this : keep volume down pressed. If the phone reboots the power button is pressed too without you touching it.

I did think that the power button may have failed, but noting that the notification light is on, that then suggests the phone is in a powered on state - if that is the case should it not respond to an inbound call, any of the soft buttons at the bottom etc?
Just tried holding volume down for 15 seconds, nothing.....
Was hoping to get the phone to completely power down of its own accord but I dont recall if it had 3% or 70% and dont know how long a blinking LED will keep it going for!

Question Black screen but still working. How to shutdown phone

Hi,
My Pixel 6 Pro screen went black, but I can still hear and feel that the phone is working. I used the volume up + power button to reboot it and now I touch the phone and I feel it vibrate as it's registering the touches. I also see at the bottom of the screen some white stripes flashing. It seems that the screen is damaged and I need a replacement screen.
Now my issue is that I can't seem to turn it off. As the screen is black, the only way to shut it down would be with hardware keys. But up until now, I haven't been able to figure out a way to turn the phone off.
Does anyone know how I can turn of the phone?
To replace the screen, obviously I need to turn it off first...
Usually long pressing the power button, but it may be different. As long as it gets fixed within a month or so it you can let it discharge until it auto shuts down. If more than a year old replacing the battery when repaired is a good idea anyway...
I tried long pressing the power button with no luck.
I tried volume down + power button for 20 seconds, didn't work either.
I tried volume up + power button for 20 seconds, this I think reboots the phone.

Power button only might take 20 or so seconds.
Otherwise just like it sit until repaired.
Power button + vol up + vol down. Keep holding down once you feel the phone vibrate. Takes you to the bootloader screen
The battery died.. so that's good!
Thanks anyways
