Every time that I try using an ARM64 custom ROM, I can no longer record videos, and sometimes the camera app crashes on start. I've tried the camera that comes with the ROM, I've tried various cameras from the Play Store and also I've tried Google Camera ports, but they don't work.
Help.
Use Footej Camera from the attachment.
Just a little note: with Alize v10 kernel I didn't encounter any problems even recording videos by Footej Camera only. Tried with AEX 5.4 and LiquidRemix ROMs. Here's a link if you are interested: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76356195&postcount=33

There's a premium version of Footej Camera, which is unfortunatelly paid.

Hey,
i just ordered this phone for my sister and it is expected to arrive in the next few days.
I just wondered what the camera quality with custom roms is compared to the original camera app.
Is there any difference in camera quality between stock camera and for example the lineageOS cam app? Is it possible to download the stock app as APK and install it on "non-ZUI"-based Roms?

only bshuy v5 and Francko76 roms have ZUI camera, all others customs have a crappy dark camera, and is not possible download or port ZUI camera and app

The native RR camera, but Snap it, and Open Camera are good options, too.

I have tried many camera on los and RR ROM but nothing is really helping. I followed one post and installed 5.2 version . it is okay but no HDR option. How can I fix all of my prbln? Any proper solution?

Use arnova's pixel2 version and disable enable_micro setting in developer options of the app. Then you can use 12 mp back camera with hdr+ enhanced too.
And also if you want 120fps slow motion recording (4x slowed down to 30fps video), you should have miui camera installed and at least open video recording screen of the miui cam, then try gcam's slomo.
For every reboot you must do that opening video recording screen in miui cam before gcam slomo or it crashes. Looks like miui cam is enabling something just by opening its video recording screen.

Well, the devs can't do anything about it (give that a read: https://www.xda-developers.com/came...opers-make-hardware-work-without-source-code/) The best is Gcam 5.1 - it is the only thing that seems to work almost perfectly. All later Gcams can't record video. Other camera apps (like Open Camera) should record videos, but sadly since the April builds it's broken. The fix is already in the code for the next build but as of now there is no next build. Wait for it. Other issues you will have with non-Gcam or stock cam:
- 2 photos without reopening camera (or going to gallery) is broken
- On low light photos will be s**t. Not because quality - but... well, it looks funny; and green. And horrible.
My recommendation for photos: Gcam 7.2 (when you aren't on Lineage or crDroid, with disabled HDR+)
My recommendation for videos: Nothing, they are broken in the current builds. When it's fixed anything except Gcam.

None, the only real solution is LineageOS 14.1, the cam works perfectly in it.

Since MIUI12 I'm inclined again to switch to CFW ROMs, but I need to know if the camera can be usable!
Please post some photos taken with ANX Camera or Google Camera, so I can decide.

There's only a bug with portrait item that does'nt work (under Pixel Experience and v190 ANX).
Hope it will fix soon.
I test many others (opencamera, gcamn etc) and I keep ANX Camera witch seems to me far better.

i have PE and downloaded v190 ANX and installed via magisk but it just wont open any tips ?

I am using Havoc OS. It runs quite awesome. Only bug i could find so far is Portrait Mode in ANX (none of the fixes work) and i am using Version 184. Important: Download ANXCamera Pro tool from PlayStore and unlock RAW! Normal JPEG are fine aswell but only RAW give the ability to Post Process for special areas of Photography. For example Astrophotography
I'm currently using evolution x custom rom adnroid 11 for redmi note 8 (gingko) and I have never been able to record any video. Any app that I use crashes or doesn't record the video at all. When they do, it has a weird long length and doesn't play at all. I even tried ANX camera but it also crashes when I try to take a video. Video stabilization also doesn't work in ANX camera as well. Is there a solution for this?
