Laptop style UI for Pixel C - Pixel C Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know of any development work being done along the lines of PhoenixOS or RemixOS for Pixel C?
I would love to have more of a "laptop" style UI on my Pixel C.
I have seen Leena Launcher, and though that is going in the right direction, it isn't nearly as nice as the launchers on PhoenixOS or RemixOS. It also didn't seem very stable.

remix os in fully available - go to google and have a search of "remix os for Pixel C" and you will find it

Download the app "Sentio Desktop" from the google play store. The team behind it are ex google engineers, who designed the UI for their own hardware android Laptop, but the app runs on any android device and looks quite nice on the Pixel C

Fuchsia OS on any Android

Fuchsia OS – Google’s new operating system under development which is based on Flutter SDK, it has got a “Card” like UI with more focus on minimalism. A few months ago, its preview app was released by the developers known as Armadillo for Fuchsia. It was just to see how the new OS from google will look like and was pretty much unusable.
I made a video on how to get Fuchsia OS on any Android, in which I used Nova Launcher Prime, KLWP, Tasker, Secure Settings, Substratum and Pixel Icon Pack. So I basically made a working, fully functional theme of Google's Latest OS in development Fuchsia OS.

Different UI apps between OP5t and OP6

Hi everyone. Yesterday i bought to my girlfriend an OnePlus 6 and I noticed that the UI of many apps are quite different. Like Google Chrome have the toolbar above, other apps have different home etc etc.
My question is: how possible there are such a different look on many aspects? Is for the notch?
Can I have the same OP6 experience on my OP5t?
the notch does not give powers

Hopefully
It's probably because of google's goofy A/B testing. I think the chrome betas have the new UI by default, so you can use it if you like the UI

pixel launcher

Why pixel launcher is not supported in Moto one power?! I searched for the answer n i din get it..the launchers - ruthless, lean, lawnchair, rootless are can install on this device but not that pixel bridge for google feed! Do reply.thanks!
Coz it's Android One! You need root for installing Lawnchair 2 + Quick Step. It has that Google Feed.
Install moto app launcher update first and install pixel launcher. Work fine for me.
Hi. I am a hardcore Samsung galaxy s series fan. Was using only S series all the time. Moto one power is my first other brand mobile just bought it for battery and Android one. Now my problem is I am missing so many features of Samsung One UI. Infact I'm a big fan of samsung's user interface. Can anyone port the S9 or S10 UI to Moto one power? It ll b a very good experience I feel. Thanks in advance.

Question OnePlus Launcher

Maybe I didn't search hard enough, but anyone know if it's possible to install the OnePlus launcher on the Pixel 6 Pro? I successfully installed, but it refused to load, even one install that was reported to work on any Android phone. I'm using ProtonAOSP with gapps.
I bought a Pixel 6 Pro out of love for its superior night camera which is fabulous for catching northern lights here in Alaska, but I absolutely love the OxygenOS launcher on my OnePlus 8 Pro. It's a weird request, I know.
All I have to say is,"why?"
Coming from One+ and Samsung..... All users flash roms to come to a Pixel UI and you want a OP launcher on a Pixel? I'm stumped
I'd recommend Nova7 as it's a better fit for phones than OP launcher.
If it's a tinkering matter I totally understand, but, OP on Pixel?
You can also try lawnchair launcher 12. I was missing a few things after moving from 1+ 8 pro to P6 but lawnchair did the trick for me. Basically a pixel launcher with some more customization.

Which features exactly are you looking for?
There are several available launchers on a Pixel, I can't think of any feature set that OP has that is not available, since you can customize about anything, including icons and how animations/gestures work.
As others have said. What's the point?
Anyway, installing the APK will not be sufficient as the OnePlus launcher also relies on a number of native libraries.
You will need figure out exactly which libraries and make them available in /system/lib(64) via a Magisk module.
Too much hassle for what ...
Specifically, I really like this one touch close all apps button. It's a good visual decluttering for me versus memory issue. If I feel overwhelmed by everything I have open, tap the one button and it all feels clean again.

I'll give it a look.
Closing the apps in that way is not recommended and actually worsens battery use. Doesn't do anything for memory use either really as the phone has plenty and manages it well enough. This is why it has been gotten rid of in later versions of Android.

Eh, I charge it enough. It really is more of a psychological visual decluttering for me. I know, it's really best to let Android manage your open apps.
If you scroll all the way to the left you get a clear all

I remember using this on my pixel 2xl. Hasn't been updated in a minute though but it will do the job
One thing i like most about One plus launcher is to hide apps with fingerprint.
Left swipe to reveal but with fingerprint.
Is there any launcher which has this feature?
Check out Ruthless Launcher
Google Play Link
It has a clear all button on the left most page of the app switcher.
Also has app locker function with fingerprint unlock.
Dev is really responsive on Telegram and the app receives frequent updates.
It's customisable - app icons support, grid options etc, loads of features including At-A-Glance and Google Feed etc. Been using it for a few years now.

Question Fully compatible launchers

Hi,
I use two devices on a daily basis: Pixel 6 pro and 7 pro. One more test and the other as a daily driver.
I wonder what launchers you use. Pixel launcher seems to me a bit limited when it comes to functionality and appearance. I tried the pixel launcher mod, but it seems to be moderately stable and still doesn't give you the option to set any grid size. The app drawer is sprawled out enormously, the gaps between apps are large, and everything is narrow and weird.
I'm just used to using the nova launcher and lawnchair. Since 2014 I was using nexus 6 and pixel devices later.
Now in (almost) 2023 both nova launcher and lawnchair seem to be out of date even in current test builds: nova launcher 8 beta and lawnchair 12.1 dev (quickstep doesn't work anyway).
So a question for power users who like customization to the limit. How are you doing with the current pixel launcher monopoly? what do you use?
It sounds like you're looking for a customizable and stable launcher for your Pixel 6 Pro and 7 Pro devices. While I don't have personal experience with either of these devices, I can recommend some popular launcher options that you may want to consider.
One option is the Action Launcher, which offers a variety of customization options and features a "Quickstep" interface that allows for easy switching between apps. Another option is the Microsoft Launcher, which allows for deep customization and integrates with Microsoft services like OneDrive and Your Phone.
If you want to stick with a launcher that's developed by Google, you may want to try the Google Discover Launcher. This launcher allows for some customization and integrates with Google services like the Google Assistant and Discover feed.
Ultimately, the best launcher for you will depend on your personal preferences and needs. I recommend trying out a few different options to see which one works best for you.

I would say hardly a monopoly, but the pixel launcher is so limited it's infuriating. Which is why I use Nova Launcher (current beta) despite, in your opinion, it being out of date.
https://lawnchair.app/ try it it's the best
Nova...works...whats the problem here?
General comment, becuase i see this "but this software/app is out of date" thing far too often on here...
I dunno why some people think stuff is "out of date" because of the date since last build
Mostly millennials and gen-zer's...want a new version of something every 6 months because they think evil CrApple release schedules should apply to literally everything....*head shake*...we really have devolved as a species
People of my age consider things out of date when they stop working......but then we're not the worst (and most spoiled) generation ever made...
Stop creating issues that dont exist, use Nova, it works fine....

For the most part, I use the launcher included with the system.
When I do change, I use Nova or Lawnchair.
Note: I bought Nova Prime quite a few years ago.
Cheers.

phew. That's a bit of a far-reaching conclusion. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the Nova launcher because it's great to use. But consider the animation quality when changing running applications, expanding the application drawer or, for example, the lack of themed icons. Lawnchair has gone a step further and is more modern. I've been using Nova Launcher Prime for almost 10 years, but while using Pixel Launcher for a while, I had the impression "oh, that's how it should work, very nice". Also, I think you misjudged me a bit. In 3 months I will be 33 years old, so I am far from the generational groups you mentioned and their approach to stimuli and novelties.

I also got Nova Prime and used it quite a bit in different roms and devices.
Switched to Lawnchair version 12.1.0 Alpha 4 and will never switch back. This launcher helps with so many things; one of them was a magisk module I used about a year ago.

I'm on a lawnchair right now. it's really great and basically comparable to pixel launcher. It is a pity that the android 13 magisk module does not work. I use the dev version of the launcher. Do you see any advantage of the alpha version over the dev version?
I use nova launcher, no bugs and it has a lot of customization

Yes, this one is exactly what I'm in using now in my Pixel 6 pro and it's really working well.
Pixel Launcher Extended looks very promising.
I stand by Microsoft launcher. I've got an ms 365 personal and business subscription. The backup feature is useful. I use windows 11 so it syncs my notes from to-do etc.
Its not everyone's cup of tea but it's the best launcher I've used personally
