How to stop displaying what's playing on my phone - Huawei Watch

Like the title says, how do I stop android wear from displaying what my phone is playing?
If I play music from Google music/youtube it shows up on my watches display, how do I stop this?

Install Feel the Wear, you can block notifications from your watch for any app.
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sk.martinflorek.wear.feelthewear&hl=en_US

would you also be able to use the Android Wear App to block the YOUTUBE or GOOGLE MUSIC app notifications?

I have the same issue with Spotify. When I start playing Spotify, I get a spotify full screen thing on the watch with the track played and <</>> controls. Annoying, I don't care about the controls cause I can control Spotify from my true wireless earphones. I can't find a way to disable that.
Did you find a way to do it @Jaws4God?

I did not actually look.. I just know you can block apps via the WearOS app so didn't know if that would help.. I guess I could test it and see if it works..

I've tried this and it seems like it works for YouTube but it doesn't work for Google play music.

I found a way to stop my watch from showing what I'm playing. When you play a video or song from YouTube or Google play music and the media controls show up on the watch, long press the media controls face (in the center) and you get an option menu. One of the options is to turn off the media controls. Hopefully this helps someone.

OH MY GOODNESS! THANK YOU!! I never knew we could do that. I just tried and it works amazingly! I now have added a shortcut to "Media Controls" on the watch face and the controls don't appear automatically anymore! Exactly what I wanted. Thanks

I can add 4 custom shortcuts with the watch face i'm using (Called "Quante"). In the list of apps and functions, there is one called "media controls". Which means that as soon as I listen to music on the phone, that shortcut let me have access to the media controls.
What I originally wanted is for the media controls to NOT automatically come up, only when I pressed the shortcut and your solution worked like a charm.

I wish it were. As far as worthwhile music apps this is the one you want though. I pay $10 a month and it's worth every penny there's also a $5 dollar one if I remember correctly.
It's free to use on pc though
Lockscreen
I love the new app but the lockscreen controls don't seem to work half the time. Anyone else notice this?

Assuming you downloaded the new version of Spotify and have a G Nex, when you are playing a song just let the screen time out. It will appear on the lockscreen much like Google Music does.
If that doesn't work try clearing the data for Spotify.
The problem is when I pause a song in the lockscreen and leave for a minute it won't play again.

Oic... Sounds like Android is closing the program because it thinks it's being unused. I'll try
Yeah, the lockscreen control is iffy. No scrobble to last.fm. And pause stops all together. You have to re-enter the app to start it all over.
I'd never tried spotify before so I got the 48 hours free. And then I'll sign up for the 30 days free; however, the Rdio app has a lot more extras and functionality. And it's also recently been updated to holo theme, as well.
When I came across the review of the new Spotify revamp over on Engadget today, I couldn't help but...

The old Spotify app used to FC, freeze, and fail to successfully sync music for offline use. The revamped app has solved all these issues for me. Not to mention the app is MUCH more responsive than the old version.
If you are a Spotify user this is a must have.
But in my case, all the starred items in that playlist do not appear. Anybody else experiencing this?

The Spotify Preview works so much better than the one listen in the Play Store. I do notice some pausing while streaming. Is this happening to anyone else? It may just be my cruddy data connection in the office. Dunno though.
Does the alfa tags work via blue tooth (does it show the name of the song in car stereo, when streaming through blue tooth)?
One problem I'm having that I'd like confirmed or not is that there seems to be no way now to listen through your entire music collection as one giant playlist. I used to do this quite a lot on the old spotify and set to shuffle to jump randomly between all playlists. Don't seem to be able to do that now. Am I missing something?

1) Media Utilities is your friend! You can install it from the Play Store here and find a tutorial on how to use it with Zooper here.
2) If you use a custom launcher like Apex, Nova, Lightning, etc. they often provide shortcut actions to certain functions like opening the app drawer. You can use those via the OnTap action on either a widget or individual modules so they are used when you tap on the Zooper widget.

I don't own any Samsung Devices so I can't really help you out much. Two things though: does the native music player show up when you open Media Utilities? If not, you might have to add it manually. Also try it with Play Music to see if Media Utilities correctly works with Zooper (Play Music should definitely work and is always a good way to test things)

This looks exactly as I would expect it to be.
I'm sorry to say this but I currently don't have any further ideas. Though I have heard other people where it didn't worked one day and suddenly started to work the next. So maybe you are lucky and it will resolve itself. Other than that, you might have to file a bug with the Zooper guys to get this resolved.

Edge Screen audio controls - Poweramp App

In case anyone was looking for a music app that has edge screen controls, I just realized my Poweramp does have built in controls along with cover art automatically on the edge screen.
I am not rooted yet, running stock. But i do have the paid version of the app and i downloaded the free poweramp widgets pack... not sure if that makes a difference

That's not built-in to Poweramp. It's part of Touchwiz.

Most of these apps had/have notification tray controls.
These controls often get moved to the Edge screen. It's a Touchwiz trick.

So I guess Samsung has built in something to make this happen, that's great. This means we may not be so reliant on others for compatibility.
Power amp just added new edge controls specifically for Edge users! I really dig it but it doesn't add anything as far as panels go. Check it out, I'm on the paid but I'll bet you van check them on the trial version.
I noticed that if i start playback from Google play music's widget the edge controls are not activated, only if i actually start the app. Has anyone figured way around this?
It's funny how you all handled the trolling.

Yes, most apps that place playback controls in the notification panel get edge controls.
However, it appears that some may not.
"Shazam" has notification panel controls but does not create an edge panel.

Question Any workarounds for video pause/play using TWS Bluetooth Earphones' buttons on Android 12/Pixel Devices?

First of all, I would like to specify that this issue is not limited to Pixel 6 Pro as I have encountered this since the very first build (Developer Preview) of Android 12 on Pixel 4 XL and Pixel 5. As many of you would have experienced, I am unable to pause/resume playback videos on Photos app, Facebook watch, MX Player, etc. using the button on TWS bluetooth earphones. I have tested using 3 different types of earphones: Mi, Altec Lansing and Blue Hive and they all worked fine on Android 11, but not Android 12. Some video players such as X Video Player and VLC Player, etc. have found a workaround and the pause/play function does work as intended using earphones' button even on Android 12, but I am wondering if there is some setting/workaround that could fix this problem system wide?
Can anyone else confirm if they are facing this issue? If you are using True Wireless System earphones which do not face this problem, please share your earphones' brand and model, so that even I can give them a try.
Not had issues with any of my TWS (Sony XM3 and Samsung Galaxy Buds as well as some others).
I only really use Deezer and Spotify.

I don't use Facebook unfortunately and I don't have any local media to test Mx unless it does videos?
I tried my combo: MX Player with a local video in background and my OnePlus Buds adjusted via HeyHarmony app to pause/play when double tapped. I'm experiencing almost the same issue: I can only pause the video once and am not able to re-play it, I have to tap Play button on my phone's screen. When playing in foreground pausing/playing with double tapping on my earbuds don't work at all.
BTW thank you for reminding me about VLC Player existence I installed it again after maybe 2 years and I'm impressed with its integration into Quick Settings, so called Media section. Very convenient for me really. And pausing/playing with double tap works as it should.

They promise Oneplus and Oppo earbuds support.
So, I bought a pair of Pixel Buds A Series last night and faced the same issue. In fact, I had raised an issue with Google long time back but it was closed. I don't have any experience with reporting bugs with Google and this was my first bug report. If anyone, who has experience with issues tracker, can see why it was closed and elaborate as to the reason of closure. Here is the link:

Question How to display audio controls over lock screen or in quick pull down menu?

I have not been able to figure out how to quick access audio music player controls without having to go to the particular app. My previous Android allowed me to access the stop/pause/play control over the lock screen and in the pull down menu from the top. What am I missing? Thanks.
Are you allowing your lockscreen to show all sensitive content (notifications) on it? I can play with my music apps some more shortly to see what happens - I mostly use them in Android Auto so I don't often look at the phone screen while music's playing.

I have my Settings to "show all notification content on lock screen." I should mention I'm running Nova launcher, which I've always been running on an Android phone. My issue is to be able to pause or play music from my lock screen or pull down menu, which I've always been able to do pre-P6P.

I use Nova Launcher (I am signed up for their Beta program) exclusively and have for ~10 years, give or take. The only effect Nova could possibly have in relation to lock screens that I can think of is that you can set gestures that lock the screen, either through Accessibility services without root, which performs a "hard" lock such as rebooting the phone (where you have to enter your primary unlock method - not biometrics), or via root where you can have gestures lock it "properly", which is ironically just like a normal lock. There may actually be a third or hybrid option in Nova that performs a normal lock without root - I can't recall for sure.
I've never seen it affect the contents of my lock screen so it's probably something else. I'm currently using CleanSlate kernel's Sweep to Sleep to lock the screen, so I'm not using Nova's gestures to lock the screen, but I was a month or so ago without any effect on music players, or my lock screen contents that I noticed.
Yeah, I've also been using Nava Launcher for years and never had an issue.
