You bought second hand phone?
If no then you have nothing to worry about.
And even if you bought second hand just link your mi account to the device and you'll be good to go

No it was just bought to a Chinese store new, and already have my mi account, but in any process (Twrp, root, ROM install) will ever ask me about the bootloader account?

No, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Hey there, so I'm confused. I bought the redmi note 5 pro from Amazon and it said unlocked. I have it on T-Mobile. If it's unlocked that means i don't have to go through the xiomi back? On the box it says global room. It the settings it says I have whyred room. So can I flash a rom already ??

Check fastboot oem device-info
in fastboot. If true , you are unlocked to flash custom ROM, recovery etc....

Didn't work for me. It still shows the "2xx hours remaining until unlock"
(I had already binded my MI account to the device using the Global Developer ROM, maybe this is why didn't work for me).

For me it worked like a charm with pre installed stock global version of MIUI. Phone received yesterday, followed the instructions (had a mi-account with unlock permission already from my Redmi 3s), phone was immediately unlocked. Flashed RWRP & Dot 2.2 and I simply love it.

Change from Chinese rom to global rom.

Hi there I have the chance to get two of these good smartphones in China for a good price. The problem is that they have the Chinese rom on it and my parents need the italian language. Will it be possible to flash the global rom or just add the italian language?
Thanks.

Based on my experience b4 unlocking 5A, the only way you can switch from China to Global is to flash it via test point. Unless you've unlocked the phone, you could flash it via fastboot. Is your 5A unlocked yet?

Yep, that's all you need to do. After an unlock, you do have the option to relock your bootloader (which maybe you're already familiar with). The guide is on the miui forums. Good luck!

Yeah but with a locked bootloader, Xiaomi Tool still can't cross flash between China & Global.
Cinese to Global Redmi 5a. Yes you can
In phone settings >About phone>Miui version (click 7times) you will be a developer. back to settings>additionalSetting> developer option>
Turn_On_developer option
OEM UNLOCK_ON
USB DEBUGING_ON
You have to check here if your (Mi Unlock status)
if it shows your "device is locked" your phone is secured" check bellow there you have to add your Mi account. next turn phone OFF. volume down+power to start phone to FASTBOOT MODE. now login to PC. with same ACCOUNT, GO to miui unlock site download unlock app to pc login with miui account connect to Phone. click unlock. they will give you approx (360Hours)after 360 hours repeat procedure with pc. this time it will Unlocked. check mi status again in your phone. if its unlocked you can now download Miui Stable ROM from their site update your phone legally. i am new user here in xda so i am not allowed to share links here in xda.

Correct. If you try and lock the bootloader on the EU Chinese ROM or Global it's good bye phone.
If you don't unlock bootloader you'll be stuck on the Chinese ROM forever.

Well what? If they want to lock the bootloader they can lock the bootloader.
That doesn't answer why! if it bricks the phone it might be useful to understand the process a bit fuller. I'm buying the Chinese version myself so want to be aware of why you'd want to lock the bootloader again

Return to stock, to sell, improve security, warranty etc
You'll only brick it if you install and lock the global ROM on a Chinese device, Chinese rom on a global device, or lock on the Chinese EU ROM
Cool. So if I get the Chinese one I'll put the EU one on.
I don't think I'd need to worry about locking the bootloader for a long time. I want this phone to last a few years and it seems reliable enough. And the processes will improve all the time.
Thanks!

Locking the bootloader is for certain applications and features that requires a more "secure" phone, since an unlocked bootloader is considered not "secure".
Payment Applications, Banking Applications, and DRM applications (Netflix) and such requires the phone to have a locked bootloader, or it will not work.

Are you forgetting Magisk? I'm unlocked since surviving 72 hours of stock locked hell. All my banking apps and Google pay have worked for the past 2 months.
BTW stock Chinese or Dev or Global are garbage compared to the EU version anyways.

Just use the msm tool to flash your. Phone
Hi.
I bought an HD1900 model myself. It was delivered with the Playstore and therefore under OxygenOS.
Mine was on OxygenOs (India).
To update to a version of OxygenOs global, no need to use the restore tool and unlock the bootloader, to put your Oneplus in Global version.
You just need to download the Rom via this link in Global version: HD65AA Global 10.0.7
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/oneplus-7t-repo-oxygen-os-builds-t3997037
Paste the Zip version of the ROM in the root storage of your phone and in the settings of your phone \ update \ local update, flash the download zip.
the ROM Zip file can also be downloaded with the Oxygen updater application.

I would highly suggest not locking, or re-locking the bootloader(IF you plan on doing any modification). I've seen plenty of people end up in a pickle with locked bootloader and completely bricked phone. My suggestion is to definitely keep it unlocked/unlock it.

If nothing works, unlock the bootloader and use Miflash.

You MUST unlock bootloader and install official global rom via fastboot and mi flash utility using PC. Once you unlock bootloader DON`T lock it again!!!!! I did all that few days ago since i wasn`t receiving any OTA updates either. Phone works like a charm.

The problem if you do not lock the bootloader, the play store will not be certified, which means that certain apps like Netflix, will not be available, also certain banking apps will not work. The solution being to root and use Magisk hide .
Locking the bootloader is possible provided your phone is not a Chinese version.
All this is useless with a Xiaomi Eu rom (playstore certified without root).
BTW:
Your first link has already been posted.
The second ?.
The third has nothing to do with the subject.
Didn`t have time to read all so i posted what he needs to get the update. Second link is where to get the rom, and third link of video tutorial has everything to do with subject because guy in the video shows how to flash official rom to your phone and what to do if flashing gives error. So it was meant for him to watch, not for others who need netflix. But if he needs netflix he can just ignore most of recommendations here and just root his phone if he knows how and finds some simple way so he doesn`t brick his phone

I posted the exact tutorial and process i used 3 days ago and it is to unlock bootloader, download rom he needs and use video to flash it. Simple. I had exact same situation and i fallowed these steps. I don`t see any problem, and if it is, let admins delete my posts and i won`t try to help since it gets judged immediately like i did something terrible. Anyway, since i posted a question my self with a little problem, if this is the way i might get some answers by explaining every single thing i or anyone else post, then this is not the right place to get answers... Best of luck to Powerhero with updating his phone. I hope he chooses best and easiest solution and enjoy his phone with new software.

After using Mi unlock you will have to wait 168 hours to finalize the procedure.
Then use Miflash to flash the A12 rom, first do not relock the bootloader, check that everything works and that A12 suits you then lock the bootloader if you do not want to try other roms like Xaiomi EU rom.
Mi unlock and Miflash will erase all your data.

one more thing sir and sorry for that. the process with xaiomi phones is a bit different i used to do it with samsung phones.
i did all the steps to unlock the bootloader
and tells me to wait 168 hours to unlock.
now should i use the phone normally and what things not to do untill the 168 hours complete
and finally when flashing the rom.how to prevent re-locking the bootloader and how to lock it if i want to.
thank you best regards
