Huawei Mate 9 Lite "Software Install Failed" when trying to upgrade to Nougat
Hello there!
I have a Huawei Mate 9 Lite on which Im currently running BLL-L23C605B168 (Android 6.0/EMUI 4.1.3) and tried to upgrade to BLL-L23C605B370 (Android 7.0 Nougat) via Firmware Finder FullOta, it downloaded it and tried to install it, but at 2% or so in verifying the packages it told me "Software Install Failed". Tried this 2 times but it keeps giving me the error message.
So is there any way i can upgrade my Mate 9 Lite to Android 7.0 without Firmware finder?
Device is NOT rooted, bootloader is not unlocked.
Thanks in advance

Try with the 20p version. I had the same issue. Flashing 20p solved it http://lg-kdz.com/?dir=LG G4/H815[/...up

has anyone tried updating oreo/emui 8.0 via firmware finder?

hi all... has anyone tried updating their honor 8 pro/v9 to oreo/emui 8.0 through team mt's firmware finder? i tried updating through it, downloaded the whole 2.81GB but it didn't install by giving the error upon starting the installation "unauthorized package. it will delete now." (i don't remember the exact wording but it was somewhat same)
did i miss any step?

The updates being rolled out are bound to the IMEI of the devices and hence, will fail to install if downloaded through any other means except the official channel.

If you have unlocked bootloader, you can flash it through twrp then.

Hi I too did the same procedure but it just didn't work?
I don't know when we will get the update?
I've just been chatting with Honor. They told me that the rollout started on 7 Feb and will be rolled out in 4 phases. They expect all phones to be updated with 8 weeks of the starting date. I haven't received the update either. The update with Firmware Finder will not work. In another thread somebody reported bricking his device by trying to update with FF.
You can downlode the 3 firmware files (update,data_full_public,hw.(in for me) and try flashing twrp using DUK_FullOTA_ROM_flasher.
I did the update and it is working just fine. There is a video with instructions inside the app itself. Tap on the upper left corner and when the drop down menu appears select instructions.
I have tried many times using firmware finder but no success finally fully flashed

C675 is the India Cust firmware, u will not recive OTA to the phone if u live in Ireland, u must use a simcard from a India provider.
I would rebrand the phone to C432 Cust that is for Europe.
U can Google FunkyHuawei, it's a paid service but with that tool u can rebrand it to Europa Cust C432 and u will get OTA.
Or u can do it your self for free if u knowhow. U need to unlock bootloader and install TWRP, see link.

Stuck on Andoid Nougat and MIUI 9

Hi everyone. I just purchased 2 weeks ago a Mi mix 2 8/128 GB special edition. Upon checking the about phone in the settings, it's still on Android nougat and MIUI9. I tried to check an update thru the updated but unfortunately, there's no available update. I've learned that android oreo and miui10 were already rolled out a long time ago to mi mix 2 devices. I'm just wondering why I'm still not having this update via OTA?
I've already downloaded the miui10 package and tried to update using local upgrade. But it failed. Currently, I don't have any knowledge on flashing roms that's why I haven't tried those steps. Also my bootloader is still locked.
Sometimes this happens when your phone has a non official ROM installed. Only way to upgrade is unlocked bootloader and mi flash tool. (Afaik)

Downgrading firmware on SM-A720S

Hey, guys! This is my first time posting, so I apologize if my post is missing some key details or isn't of quality in some other way.
I am currently looking into installing LineageOS onto my Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A720S); on the LineageOS installation documentation, it said to make sure that my device was running Android Oreo (Android 8.0). Since my device had Android Pie (Android 9.0) installed, I downloaded the Android 8.0 stock ROM for my device and region from SamMobile, and I also downloaded Odin v3.14.1 (un-patched as I am using a ROM for the same region) from the XDA forums.
Furthermore, I turned on developer settings on my phone and enabled OEM unlocking and USB debugging. Attempting to flash Android 8.0 onto my device resulted in the following error message:
SW Rev. Check Fail (Bootloader) Device: 5 Binary: 3

From poking around in the forums, I learnt that this means there is a mismatch between the bootloader version and the binary I am trying to flash. Is there any way to either downgrade the bootloader in order to be able to flash Android 8.0 or is there some way to trick the device/odin into thinking that the Android 8.0 has a binary of 5?
I really want to try LineageOS. so I would appreciate any advice on how to work around this issue.
That was a slight oversight on my end, because there aren't many A720S users. Your pie bootloader is fine, you can flash lineage.
