Can i flash from MIUI developer ROM 8.8.30 (MIUI10) to Stable ROM V9.6.3.0.OEIMIFD - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

My phone is Redmi note 5 Al (from China) and now unlocked bootloader.
Can i flash MIUI 9 version 9.6.3.0.OEIMIFD (Stable) from MIUI 10 version 8.8.30 (Developer ROM) without brick?
Version 9.6.3.0.OEIMIFD (Stable) and version 8.8.30 (Developer ROM) now are lastest.
Thank you so much

Hi,
I just successfully flashed 8.8.30 over 9.6.3.0 on a Redmi Note 5 Pro with locked bootloader. From what I had read, ROMs with ARB 4 can be flashed over each other.
The latest MIUI ROM for whyred is now 9.6.4.0, btw.
Doesn't really answer your question, but thought I would share this.

Since you have unlocked bootloader, you could try using TWRP for flashing a firmware-less version of the MIUI 9 ROM (you can find links in this forum).
That way the risk of a brick is entirely eliminated.

Also when in doubt about any rom ARB version, older and future roms, you will always be safe flashing a firmware-less rom (since it leaves BL untouched).

I wanna do it on my mi5 but what about my apps and data?
I lose theme or no?

You will lose all apps and app data. And you will be warned about it too.
When the stable MIUI 10 is officially released as OTA, we will be able to move from MIUI 9 to 10 without losing any data.

Yes
Just bear in mind that if you install the global beta, you can't go back to the global stable , otherwise you'll end up bricking your device. I'd recommand you stay with the stable versions until this whole anti-rollback dust settles in.
Silver91 so if Xiaomi Released the Rom and i want to go back stable again i cannot?

you are in 9.5.19.0 thats ARB4
dont flash miui10 8.7.5
or globa stablel 9.5.17.0
this are ARB3 and any older version
you cant go back to this or older versions.
but you can flash new upcoming versions. after 9.5.19.0 new versions you can also miui 10 after 8.7.6
So i can go from MIUI 10 beta to MIUI 10 stable when it's officially released but i can't downgrade to any older versions Right?

Your question is literally answered in the first post of the anti rollback guide: yes, you can switch between ARB 4 ROMs.

Differences between several MIUI-based ROMs

Hi !
I'm currently on a global whyred pro, 4/64gb
On the latest PixelExperience CAF 20190420, twrp 3.2.3-5, the latest stable firmware of oreo, ARB4, and unlocked BL.
I am curious to try the latest MIUI Pie version, very active these last few weeks.
I hesitate between :
- MIUI 10 by xiaomi.eu https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/9-4-18.50189/
- Masik ™ X 4.1 PIE https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/masik-2-4-rom-t3828932
- MiUi Pie Reloaded https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/rom-t3920548
- The official one ? I didn't find the right version, for my whyred model (not found the dev fastboot image for the pro version :silly: )
- other ?
What are the advantages/disadvantages, or what the major differences are between them ? What is your opinion ?
you forgot the 2 most customisable miui roms.miui pro and miui xtrv (miui hellas)

Visit official MIUI website to download android pie beta ROM.
There are two types of ROM
Recovery ROM can be flashed using twrp (en.miui.com/download.html)
It is recommended to flash fastboot ROM while returning to MIUI from custom ROM
visit en.miui.com/a-234.html to download latest stable or beta fastboot ROM and flash it using MiFlash
Note : if your device is Chinese variant then do not flash global ROM and lock bootloader
If your device is global variant then do not flash Chinese ROM and lock bootloader
You can flash global ROM on global variant device and then lock bootloader

Also add to the list Mi GlobeRom, which is basically the same as xiaomei.eu Rom but with customizable build options.
https://mi-globe.com/rom-builder-features/?id=42&codename=whyred&phone=RedMi+Note+5+Pro
mi globe looks cool I'll try.
I would like to know, I could restore a pixel experience backup via reocovery if I ever want to leave miui ?
I have to pay attention to something in particular in the migration Pixel Exp -> miglobe and vice versa ?
I honestly find masik to be the best, it has custom camera libs, material design, custom sound, and it may be placebo but battery seems to last longer than Xiaomi.eu Also i like the fact that the google app isn't included, and you can choose miui apps in the aroma installer. It's the only way i can stand miui

I'am still on MIUI 12.5 the way it came delivered.

Then flash your desired custom Rom
