P20 after FunkyHuawei Flash with EMUI 9 BETA shows as PAT-L29 in Settings - Huawei P20 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi all
I've used FunkyHuawei for Upgrading my P20 to the EMUI 9 BETA (and yes i'm loving EMUI 9 already and i was aware of the risks involved), but now it's kinda ****ed up.
In the EMUI 9 Settings the Smartphone Shows as PAT-L29 and some wrong settings like EMUI-Version or Android Version. in ADB, Fastboot and HiCare it shows up normal.
Output of fastboot
(bootloader) EML-L29 (oem get-product-model)
vendorcountry: hw/eu (getvar vendorcountry)
(bootloader) :EML-L29 9.0.0.44(SP10C432E1R1P6) (oem get-build-number)
(bootloader) :EML-L29 9.0.0.44(SP10C432E1R1P6) (oem oeminforead-SYSTEM_VERSION)

Does anybody who did also Upgrade to EMUI 9 over FunkyHuawei the same experience on the P20?
Preferably also knows how to fix this awkwardness (BL Locked, since the P20 was bought after the Deadline)

Exactly the same for me, seems its due to it being a Beta Firmware.

I used FunkyHuawei and upgraded to EMUI 9 just fine. No issues. I am however on the P20 Pro and not the P20. Just contact them if their service didn't do what it was described to do for you. You thought of this right?

Install soft beta 45. Everything will be correct.

EDIT: Nevermind

Just a word of caution for those thinking of installing the beta firmware.
It seems that oemunlock in developer settings is unusable, making it impossible to revert back to older firmware versions. Even with an unlocked Bootloader.
I've tried myself and can not get FRP to unlock in Bootloader menu!!!

Change Miui 10 stable chinese version to Miui 10 stable GLOBAL version

Hello folks,
I bought a brandnew Mi Max 3 via Singapore. Unfortunately it was delivered with the chinese ROM version (now updated to Miui 10 CN).
Is there any step by step manual to flash my original phone to the Miui 10 global stable version. I need to use the german language and the google playstore
As far as I now global verion of Miui 10 is rolled out for the Mi Max 3.
Thanx for your help, friends.
MimaxXolli
Pretty sure you going to have use TWRP it other after unlocking.
In the same boat now, mine updated to 10 overnight Grrr. Got about 5 days to wait for the BL unlock now
I also have table China 10.0.3.0 and I want to unlock bootloader and install some global multilanguage rom. Which one should I install? Any link? I read about anti rollback and don't want to crash my phone.

I have 6/128gb version.

Easy steps. Make sure the rom you are flashing to is the same or higher version
Twrp is not required
Save your files as unlocking bootloader will wipe device
Put your device in fastboot mode
Unlock bootloader, very important
Put your device in fastboot mode again
Download fastboot file https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/how-to/rom-official-recovery-fastboot-roms-mi-t3827503
Extract all files until you see the img files
Open miflash tool https://c.mi.com/thread-1220989-1-0.html
Put the path of the img files in there and click refresh
Select clean all and flash
Yes but which rom I have to install. Can you give me some links?

Well!
It is relatively easy to convert from official China rom to official Global rom on my China Mi Max 3 via the Miflash Tool Beta, which I bought my set from Shenzhen, China back in July 2018.
Before 18-Oct-2018 (CN MIUI 10.0.3.0):

}
After 19-Oct-2018 (Global MIUI 10.0.1.0):
Be careful with the mi flash tool. Select clean all, not any other option. Or else your bootloader will be relocked and you will get a brick.
I did encounter a problem during the 1st flashing process with the Beta Tool. "Remote : cannot read command" at the end of flahing
What I did was reinstalled all drivers using the latest miflash tool. Reboot pc, and then I used back the Beta Tool again to flash. Bingo!
FYI, all versions of official miflash tools don't work on my Windows 10 pc stating that "Length cannot be less than zero"!

How To Guide A guide to unlock the bootloader

Edit: No guarantee that this will work!
Disclaimer: Your warranty may be void after this procedure. I will not be responsible for any mishap that may happen after unlocking.
Backup you data! Device resets after unlocking!
Step 0: Enable developer options.
It is visible under Settings -> Additional settings after tapping 7 times on the build number.
Step 1: Install the apk linked below.
https://download.c.realme.com/flash/Unlock_tool/DeepTesting_X50pro_Q.apk
Step 2: Update this app by installing this -
https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...327195/?hash=232650ae3997a68a5743c72cdf121c9b
Step 3: Open the app and apply for deep-testing.
It takes sometime to get it reviewed and approved. My request took about a day to get enrolled in this deeptesting progam.
Step 4: Get the latest Android platform-tools and Google usb_driver for Windows. Extract wherever is comfortable for you.
Step 5: Reboot into the bootloader.
Connect the phone to your PC with the provided cable.
Enter the following in a cmd terminal where the extracted platform-tools are. Shift+Right click in that folder for getting the option to open a PowerShell terminal.
Note the prefix.
.\adb reboot bootloader
Step 5: Install the driver.
Open the device manager and right-click on the "Android" device. Choose "Update driver" option.
Select the manual installation option. Now, select the option at the top called "All devices".
Click the "Have Disk" button and then choose the .inf file in the usb_driver folder.
Choose "Android Bootloader Interface" option.
It will show "Operation completed successfully" message.
Step 6: Unlock time.
.\fastboot flashing unlock
Your device will show a warning.
Now is the time to rethink.
Vol up to proceed.
Now, the device will reset. Disconnect the cable and let it boot.

It should work. Hardware is almost same.
This may work with all Realme models launched with 11
The only difference I found is that the radio (modem) has extra CDMA bands, irrelevant for unlocking.

I also downgrade, and the version was probably the same for India. I had to send it to service, wait 2 weeks. They changed motherboard ( I don't know why ) and returned with BETTER FASTER SMOOTHER UI 2.0.
After I messed with ADB and face a boot-loop, to solve the problem I had to update again to laggier and awkward UI 3.0. So now I have to revert to UI 2.0 and don't know how.
I assume a Global rollback package can solve your problem also.

You have to use roll-back firmware to downgrade.

you have to use roll-back firmware to downgrade. After that, the phone just look like new one, you have to setup everything.
Right now I am back to A11 for testing. Again flash back to OOS13.

Question Help needed to return to Android 12 stable

I opted in for the beta of A13 with my Vivo X80 Pro (Europe version).
The battery drain gets worse every week.
Now I found out that to downgrade to the stable version, I need to send the phone to VSP Data.
That is on the other side of Europe for me.
So, I want to downgrade it myself.
How to do this? Because all the tutorials I found online are outdated, incorrect or incomplete.
At the moment PD2185BF_EA_A_13.1.11.7.W30 is installed.
I did a lot of custom ROM with the HTC HD2, Samsung S3 and Xioami's before. But cant get this simple downgrade to go
Who can guide me with a complete tutorial and working drivers (for Windows 11 Enterprise)?
If you have the Mediatek version, you may have some luck experimenting with mtkclient. We do such downgrades on 1+ Nord2 without bootloader unlock, so it might be possible to do something similar here as well.
If you don't think you have the chops to figure it all out, wait till somebody with your device does though.
The EU version (W30) is the Snapdragon variant.
Welp, if the official instructions don't work for you (people have mixed success with it), you're indeed hosed and you'll have to send it in.
I suggest going to the service center if there is one in your country. They can downgrade it there.
Or just wait until stable or more capable beta versus on of A13 is up.
Sorry if someone already mentioned this but have you tried the Vivo downgrader computer application? It's the only thing that let me downgrade. I do have the Chinese version though so I am not sure if it only works on that.

This looks to be a Chinese program.
I'm afraid it will brick my phone since my ROM is EU and not Chinese.

Does Vivo not have service in your country? I also tried donwgrade, but unfortunately I didn't find any working tools, ROMs, or procedure....
I have the same FW version as you and I have no battery problem. Check your apps. Often some update with gplay fails and then there is excessive consumption.
How about this?

They did, that is why I bought the phone.
But after 2 months they stopped.
Never a Vivo phone for me ever again.

Ahhh I'm on Chinese version of the phone. Origin OS.
So... it gets even worse.
UK site has a newer version of A12 (PD2185F_EX_A_12.0.14.1.W30.V000L1) of the 16th of December.

And the 'local upgrade' function on the phone worked. (for the first time of all the tries).
But after the restart, it said the upgrade failed because the installed version is newer.

With a Stock ROM you will need to root the phone and use Magisk modules for the device to be certified.
what purpose does it serve?

If the play store is not certified, no Netflix, etc. and the banking apps do not work.
This is due to the unlocked bootloader on a stock rom.
ok I am now on MIUI EEA.
Flash ok..
Very thanks!
I installed EEA. Have hard time to sign in to google in the beginning...but I found way around...

Hi there, i've just got my CN rom 13 ultra but can't proceed with unlock and flash because of certain issues.
1) I can't use the latest Miunlock version because it gets detected as a virus by McAfee. The version i'm currently on is 6.5.224.28, is that sufficient for 13 ultra?
2) On Miflash i'm told to install certain things, how do i find them for download? I could click on continue but i don't know if it'd work properly nor would i like to risk bricking my new phone due to some unforeseen errors.

Also, has anybody tested out the camera system? Mine seems to use the same lens for 1x 3.2x and 5x zoom, no idea if it's a CN rom thing....
EDIT: unchecking "auto adjust lens" fixed that

Correct the path.
For the error create an empty TXT file of the same name.
Thanks, i opened the newest MiFlash without issue. I have a mi account tied to my current xiaomi phone, should i continue to register a new account, which will remove the previous one? Will that render my current phone unusable?

Why use the other account (explanations)?
I'm not sure, but i probably used the same email to either attempt to flash another phone or for my current phone, i can't remember which, as i am using now to log into MiUnlock.
what would happen if i proceed, will i lose ability to use any of my current phones?

The answer is indicated in the screenshot.
Not exactly, it says i won't be able to access the account, not unable to use the phone itself. Now i can't remember if a xiaomi account needs to exist and be tied with a phone for it to be fully usable
