Widevine L1 - ZTE Axon 9 Questions & Answers

So I've been asking this question on almost all the new phones' forums recently because it's never mentioned in any of the spec websites or the manufacturers website. None of the YouTube tech channels check it either except for one which he also forgets to do for some of the phones.
The question is.... Is this phone Widevine L1 certified?
Anybody who already bought the phone can check through downloading an app via playstore. App name is 'drm info'.
Screenshot would be appreciated for anybody who are looking for this particular feature in the next phone they're gonna buy. Thanks in advance guys.
Recently, thanks to the Poco phone f1, a few known YouTubers mentioned the device having widevine L3 . Hopefully, manufacturers start implementing this feature is not all their phones, especially Xiaomi!!!

The phone isnt released yet so nobody can check. I have contacted ZTE to find out for you. It was implemented into Axon 7 so i dont expect anything different.

Axon 7 is my daily driver and no it doesn't support L1. Thanks for your efforts.
I leave this question on all new forums so others can know whether a particular device has L1 or not, I know the phone is not out.

OnePlus 3T wrong battery?

I got the OP3T model A3003 which should have a 3400mAh battery installed. CPU-Z only shows 3000mAh, and in the system info I can't find other battery info.
Is there another (better) way of measuring without paying a heckton of money for a measuring device of measuring the battery level? Or have they just lied about the battery?

OP3 = A300x
OP3T = A301x
The model has just not been implemented in CPU-Z

Also windows 10 recognizes the phone as OnePlus A3003...
EDIT:
ordered it directly from https://oneplus.net/ as the OnePlus 3T, the box says 3T, the colour is right.. have I been ripped off?

You're running an outdated firmware, may be its caused by that.

There are no OTA-updates available
I'm going to create a ticket on oneplus.net for now.

May be you'll get the answer there. Or check out the OnePlus3T Forum and ask other OP3T users instead of asking in the OP3 Forum

I just had a phone call with the support and they assured me that the database of cpu-z is not updated yet (like you said) and the modelnumber A3003 is correct for the EU version of the OP3T.
Thanks for helping me LS.xD!
Have a nice day.
PS: I didn't find the OP3T forum until 5 minutes after creating this thread

You don't have to worry about updates.
I have the same device (same variant but you've paid a bit too much)
the update is being rolled out and you can already find it in the firmware finder

only problem is that i dont have 5g conection in place with 5g?

You can check here which country/operator supports 5g for pixel 6
Pixel Phone Simulator
support.google.com
If it's not in the list it's not supported yet, I don't know if there is any magisk module to add support (I haven't rooted it yet)

I've been told by my network in a supported country they're still waiting on Google to add it to the compatible device list until I'll see 5G
BTW I've just had a reply from one of their 'experts' you know volunteers that don't have much of a life thus spend the day there giving people false information, this one has just told me the UK isn't a supported location
I think I'm going to be selling this soon now I can't be doing with much more of this

Yep this is how Google is treating people as a whole, not just the UK and Europe
Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are not yet 'fully certified' to use Verizon's faster C-Band 5G
While the hardware is compatible, Verizon says the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro aren't quite ready for C-Band 5G, lacking "full certification."

Question Is the Pad 5 working with HD Netflix and widevine l1?

I saw some stuff online that some of these tablets were having problems with L1. I really don't want to go through that again after dealing with the Lenovo Pad P11 Pro, that netflix blacklisted and is stuck to 540p to this day.
If I buy the global version, will everything work fine?
Bought mine direct from Amazon Spain (From Amazon) with the EEA rom about 4 months ago.
Netflix and for that matter Amazon Prime has L1 / HD.
It did fail once though and had to clear cache and data on both to get HD on Prime and L1 on Netflix back

Yup even on Pixel Experience GSI i have L1
I have the global version, purchased on day 1. It is on the global rom and fully updated and I still have only L3. I used to work the first 2 months after I got it. This is very unfortunate as the tablet is nice.
This is issue related to xiomi pad 5 which I got on 3rd may 2022 in India. The dark(scenes shot in night) scenes on Netflix, YouTube and other OTT platforms are very much darker even though tablet brightness and Netflix app inbuilt brightness is at max, which are barely to watch the show.
Can Anyone please confirm you are also same issue and how to resolve this. Find below photo of comparing lenovo tab and Xiomi tab 5 in white case and black screen

I can confirm this issue (and many others too. Please search this forum ...).
There is no solution for that. The display is basically not well-suited for HDR videos.

Question Rooted Stock Android 13 on P6P shows Widevine L1, how is this even possible?

I'm not sure how this is happening although I guess it's nice to have this benefit, even though I don't watch much where Widevine L1 is required for HD. Curious if anyone has encountered this as well, or if maybe I'm seeing this incorrectly

I just checked mine and mine's L1 also, even though I'm rooted. Are you using the newest Chinese magisk alpha? I am.
Except for a few months maybe 2 yrs ago when I was using my Pixel 4 XL (there was apparently some kind of glitch going on then), mine has always (at least when I've checked) been L1 while rooted with the official Magisk.

Yep, as far as I'm aware this is because root is hidden, therefore the phone is masquerading as a normal, unrooted device, and can pass all necessary checks to play DRM restricted content.
Nope ! It's just that Google doesn't care if you're bl unlocked because their widevine runs in a secure context inside their magic titan chip, so even with root, you're supposed to be unable to hack it, so yeah they leave L1 cuz they have faith in their own system and even then, seriously ? Removing HD from bootloader unlocked devices ? What's the point even, but anyway, that's an OEM thing, not Google.
Hope it helped you in a way to understand this big mess that is widevine
Edit : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Widevine
Here's the wiki page that'll help you understand the thingy about secure environnement like TEE (Trusted Execution Environnement iirc)
