idk what you mean by "core"
best rom is RRos
yes, both ginkgo and willow are diferant in fw
you can't install miui or custom rom based on miui on both (those roms have fw)
but other custom rom are unified (work on both and don't have fw)
as long as you avoid flashing miui and fw you will be fine

Nethunter shall not work in latest Android releases due to enhanced security.
you can try it out yourself. There is a page which teaches us about adding support as nethunter is just a package flashed above a ROM, nothing more. The problem will be to get features working.

You can install redmi note 8 rom in redmi note 8t the same models but 8t have nfc

for exp if you flash a ginkgo rom that have FW on willow you gonna brick it ...
