LG G6 - MS Outlook App notifications - LG G6 Themes, Apps, and Mods

Hello all,
I just bought a new LG G6 and have installed MS Outlook as main mail client since we are using Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 in my job. The problem is that, contrary to my previous device (G5), Outlook app on G6 initially did not show any notifications when a new mail came. I made some tweaks in the power optimization settings and now it shows notifications when the screen is idle as well as sound and vibration alerts on new mail arrival. However, when I open Outlook app the number notifier on the app icon's corner is lost as if I have no unread emails. In fact, though I have several unread messages. I tried using gmail as mail client for my MS Exchange account again without success same thing with gmail, when I enter and exit the app the red circle with the number of unread messages disappears.
Any ideas what is going wrong here?
Thank you in advance for your time.
Antonis

Email Notification of subfolders on HTC S620

Hi all,
I have just bought an HTC S620 and have been able to setup Activesync to an exchange server with no issues. I use alot of subfolders under my inbox to filter emails. I am receiving new emails no problem in my inbox and in the subfolders synched happily to my device.
I am only getting new email notifications on my home screen when emails arrive to my inbox. I would like to be able to see email notifications when they arrive in my subfolders.
I have a HTC S620
Running Windows Mobile Standard CE 05.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Do I need to tweak a setting or acquire an app?
I had this problem too but how I got round was to delete all of the server filters and use the newer technique of smart folders. Im using OS X and Mail.app, but I think the new Outlook on windows should have smart folders too. With smart folders all of your mail is in the inbox but when you click on a smart folder its like a saved search so for example it can show all of the email from a certain sender.
This also makes it much easier to read email on the phone, because all of the email goes into the inbox you both have the advantage of seeing the new email notification, and you don't need to jump between folders to read it all, which can take many key presses.
You can of course still have regular mail folders for email that can't be automatically sorted.
By the way, general questions like this go in the general smartphone forum
Ah i thought i was beign device specific enough.
Exchange 2003 I am using is for work and they dont use/implement smart folders/
Anyone else have any ideas? i have the same problem, and my comany's mail server also doesnt support "smart folders".
TIA

Default Mail app not sending notifications from multiple accounts?

Hey there everyone, just wanted to see if anyone's experienced the same problems as I have.
So I have 2 email accounts with gmail, one personal and one work account. I've enabled both of these accounts in both the mail app and the gmail app, and set notifications to be true for both accounts in each app.
Whenever a new email is sent however, it doesn't seem like the default mail app sends any notifications. Another thing is that even when I go into the app and force a sync, the icon on Home will only show the unread count for only 1 of the accounts.
I am still rather confused as to whether 'Sync Automatically' has to be turned on along with either WIFI/Mobile Internet to be able to receive notifications? Do you need to have 'Sync Automatically' enabled all the time, or would an active WIFI connection suffice?
Thanks in advance!
*Update*
It seems the Gmail App works fine, but not the Mail app regardless of whether only one or both are running... any ideas?
Bumping this up...
Anyone experience any problems with the default mail notifications?

New mail notification for IMAP folders

I know this has been asked several times, but I never seen a conclusive answer (and maybe that is the answer in and of itself):
When you use IMAP with Outlook Mobile (this is a standard internet IMAP account, not exchange), your unread message count and your new email notification is only for your Inbox main folder. Subfolders do not get counted, and what is more frustrating is that there is new notification. I used to have a Nokia E71 and used Seven email client on that and it also did not normally show the total unread in all folders, but it did notify me when an email came in in a subfolder, and so I'd check my box and if there was nothing, then I would check my subfolders for new mail.
I have also heard people say this is an Outlook overall problem, including desktop versions. I'd have to disagree. Sure, the unread count at the top level of the account is only going to show the unread in the Inbox, but I have been able to tell Outlook to alert me whenever a new message comes in regardless of its folder. But I haven't found a way to do that in Outlook Mobile.
Is there a registry edit that can help me? If not, has anyone found that System Seven works on WM 6.5 so as to alert you whenever a new mail is downloaded, regardless of folder? When I tried it, it didn't seem like it.
Any clues appreciated.
Same question here on wm 6.5. for 6.1 there is a plugin available "Message notify " from blackmon labs which does the task. Anyone got a solution on 6.5 ?

[Q] No GMail Notification on Sense 4.0 lockscreen?

I wonder why there is no GMail Notification on the Productivity Lockscreen? Why is there only a notification for the plain Mail Client, but not for GMail?
Am I just blind and can't find the option to activate it, or is it faulty, that means you other guys have GMail notification?
I appreciate any feedback
Probably deliberately missing as HTC use their own Email client
Blame Google, not HTC. Its been ages now but Google changed the Gmail app to improve security and one of the changes is that other apps are no longer able to query to the number of messages unread in Gmail.

I thought that was fixed as of Gmail 2.3.6, I believe.
Others apps are able to use that call function (SMS Unread, MissedIt!, etc)
Has anyone had any luck with this? I would love to have my Gtalk and Gmail notifications on the lock screen when I have new messages...

Only workaround I can think of, off the top of my head would be to install a Lockscreen replacement (WidgetLocker for example) and use an app such as SMS Unread Count OR Missed It! to get those quick counts in there.
I don't know of any app that can give you a quick preview of your unread emails (subject, etc) that's not to say that it doesn't exist; I'm just not aware of one.
can't you just add google mail as one of the accounts within the native app? open the native app and go to menu/new account. you can choose a mail provider, including gmail. don't know if it will run two accounts at once. haven't tried it, and am not using gmail as my main account. so take what i suggest with a grain of salt. good luck.

Yahoo Mail Client mail notifications not working on LG G3

Hi All,
I recently purchased a New Tmo LG G3. I've installed the latest Yahoo Mail Client from the Play Store. I recently noticed that mail notifications appears to not work as expected. Can someone help me verify if this issue is isolated to me of if this is a handset/app issue?
Issue: When user is sent mail to their Yahoo e-mail account, notification for new mail is not received.
Actual: Mail is received when performing manual sync. If user opens the Yahoo mail client, the mail will appear in the inbox.
Expected: Mail notification is received and user is made aware they have new mail awaiting to be read.
Repro Steps:
e-mail Yahoo account using another mail client
stay idle on the home screen and wait for notification
Additional notes: I verified that sync settings on Android is set to ON, I've also verified that sending mail from Gmail to Gmail, Comcast to GMail and Gmail to Comcast works as expected. I've also checked for reviews on the Play Store and noticed that their are 2-3 other people rated this app with 1 start stating it doesn't work.
If I could get a member or members on here test the Yahoo client it would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I can keep my sanity if know this isn't isolated to me.
Thanks in advance!
Rebooting the phone appears to have resolved the issue.
