I bought this to replace mine and it's indistinguishable from the original. Just not gorilla glass. But none of the aftermarket ones have it anyway. Button lights work and10 touch.
He even ships it with a free glass protector for you to install.

No Gorilla Glass on this one, probably it will crack after a while (lot of comments about that). You need to buy some screen protection asap.
Better to buy an original one that comes with Gorilla glass.

Yes I agree. I mentioned it if you wanted something cheap. It doesn't have gorilla glass and there might be some light bleed from physical buttons.
If you want the REAL original parts I would go with

I have bought many spare parts in general including the mi a1 screen with housing replacement. All official.

You don't need a heatgun if you purchased the screen with frame.

The problem is that I cannot find any guide that does it with the tool provided. I would be grateful if I could ask you in private message for some doubts that I have.
Thanks

I bought a copy a few months ago from AliExpress. Mounted last week. One drop from very low distance to the floor and it cracked. Very disappointed.

Agree, only dragon-tt gave me satisfaction, I tried eBay and aliexpress I've been really disappointed by the quality of the assembly (screen+frame)

Yes, one thing that I noticed straight away when I removed the original screen to put the new one is that aliexpress' copy was thinner and looked very fragile. I used b-7000 glue and it fitted perfectly with not light leaks. But in the end not so strong...one small drop and it cracked. With the original I had multiple drops for almost two years from more height with no cracks.

HTC One V Screen replacement

I had broken my One V's Display Glass screen a month ago, the HTC authorized service center informed that the LCD as well as the display glass screen has to be replaced even though just the screen is damaged, the LCD is fine. They said that the replacement part comes bundled with LCD and the glass screen. The cost of replacement will come to Rs.5000 (~100$)
I searched ebay and found replacement glass screens available for as low as 20$.
Should I buy the replacement screen available on ebay? I have no experience in cell phone repairs and this will be risky.

IF you have no experience i suggest you go to the service centre as you COULD damage your phone further more...
Isn't the One V's LCD fused to the glass and inseparable? Those Ebay sellers are probably misleading you.
If you want to try anyway, you should have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w96ldQq5Q2k to see what's involved.
This is what I had read... "It’s also laminated to the glass front, making for superb viewing angles" from the Verge review (http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/18/2950522/htc-one-v-review#section_4)

I have replaced countless touch screens in my life, but even I won't really think about the V because of the unibody housing. Even with proper instructions and good quality tools and materials (silica glue, alcohol for cleaning and so on...) it will be hell of a job. I personaly don't think that $100 is a high price for OEM parts replaced by the authorised service.

they are not fused together, just glued with special silica glue and tempered. It is replaceable, but it is hard enough for a pro.
If you want to maintain the good quality of the display, you will need to clean troughoutly the LCD with absolute alcohol, or any spec. cleaning liquid in a "cleen room" for not to contaminate it after cleaning, then glue them together with proper silica glue evenly troughout the whole contour of the screen. It is hard work and damn expensive, thus oem will replace the whole screen-touch screen parts.
Thanks for the opinions. I will go with replacement from service center.
Same here!
Hey. I dropped my One V from the bed today morning! :crying: It got a huge crack on the top left!
The crack is not on "the screen" but it still looks pretty awful :-( I have attached the pics. See the last pic for the crack.
What should i do? Please suggest cost-effective methods. Any help is appreciated.

if the touch and everything else still works...then live with it...or you can pay to have it repaired by HTC
I thought one V had Corning gorilla glass.
It's not supposed to break that easily wtf?
You can smash a diamond with a hammer. Like Gorilla glass, it is very hard and almost impossible to scratch, but can be easily shattered by sufficient impact shock.

My touch screen is seriously damaged, and should I do it by myself?
My idea is break the touch screen carefully to avoid damage the LCD screen, does it possible?
My first phone is touch diamond and have the same problem....Then I damaged the touch screen and the lcd screen both....I do not want it happened again...
Anyone can give my some advice?
It is too expensive for me to replace it by service centre....And some pros says that will takes $30 to help me.....
Thx
Has anyone had success(or failure) with this yet?

One V does not come with Corning gorilla glass.. This was discussed even in some other threads. Even if it have, gorilla glass will only be scratch-resistant and not break-resistant.
I'm getting mine fixed tomorrow as ive cracked the screen also.
The shop thats fixing it confirmed the lcd is bundled with the glass.
It's costing me £50 for the screen and £20 to fit it.
these screens seem very easy to break as my wife has cracked hers now also so I suppose the golden rule is be extra careful with these phones.
I had a wildfire a wildfire s and a desire and never cracked one of them and i'd dropped them all a lot harder than my hov ( which only fell 2ft ). I conclude its down to the raised effect of the glass.
this is because HOV doesn't come with gorilla glass

There is a video on YouTube decomposing and reuniting the whole machine and we were said it is hard to nicely reunite the machine.
I have thus a request, are there chemical solutions melting silica glues with no damages to the whole machine?

Apparently no, or none that can be brought off from a shelf. Cured silica based optical glue can only be dissolved with highly toxic and flammable solutions only. You can altough soften them with denaturetad alcohol or xylene, but there is a high chance you damage the display panel itself with them. Altoug I am talking about the dismantling of the touch panel and the display panel here.
The machine and the display unit (the two of them together) is just glued with standard heat activated glue, it can be softened with denaturated alcohol (which does not harms the other parts) or heat, and the the unit can be brought of from the phone (with phisical force of course). You can glue it together again with standard double sided glue tapes (2 or 1mm width) you can ebay them for. I haven't dismantled One V as of now, but I had a Desire X wich also had a unibody aluminium housing and a unified display panel, but there the whole unit was damaged, so damaging them wasn't a problem when dismantling it, and a prebuild unit was the replacement.

Replacing screen?

Just had someone bring me a Galaxy Note 2 to repair and they bought the replacement part off ebay. However all they have got is just a front piece of glass with no digitizer attached, is this correct? Normally im used to front screens having the digitizer attached or is it easy to detach from the broken old screen
Is there a guide anywhere for this?
There's a few threads on this around, but as far as I know, you need to use a heat gun to remove the glue on the digitizer.

no way mate. don't bother to anything with that cheapo. glass is always attached to the digitizer. they bought the cheapest thing they found.
i have found over the years that saving some money is not the best choice in comparison to user experience or other arising problems.
http://parts4mobiles.com/acatalog/S...-Lcd-Screen-with-Digitizer-GH97-14112A-1.html
this is cheaper than ebay which they ask for 166 pounds
Yeah, heat gun will melt the adhesive enough to separate the lcd. But its a very, very difficult process that will more likely than not end up with a damaged lcd or poor reseal.

mariosraptor is right. Glass is always sold with digitizer (it is one item). I haven't heard about clean glass without capacitive layer. You can buy either digitizer glass or complete digitizer glass with factory glued LCD module. This one's more expensive, but you have less work with replacing.
Anyway: buying only digitizer glass for this kind of phones (Note 2, S3, iPhone 4<, newer HTCs...) is waste of time and nerves. It is nearly impossible to separate LCD from digitizer. Buying complete set of digitizer & LCD is the best what you can do for your phone.
Yeah i didn't think the glass came seperate from the digitizer, i have repaired over 400 iphones and have done about 20 galaxy s2 and s3's and never have i seen just the piece of glass without a digitizer on it, i will tell the woman she needs a whole new screen, i think she did go for the cheapest option
This is actually what she ordered:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Gray-...s=63&clkid=5413496726471672632&_qi=RTM1319883
It obviously doesn't have flex, so it is only pure glass. I don't understand, why would any serious seller offer this kind of items.

[Q] S4 Digitizer assembly replacement

I ruined the digitizer/screen on my s4 and am looking for an original replacement. I ran across this digitizer on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/181235347099?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT but I don't ever remember the s4 being released in this blue. Could it be a knock off or fake screen assembly? Opinions/suggestions please!

It's for the Blue AT&T variant.
It will still work. If your front glass isn't broken you can reuse your existing front glass.
Or yours will just look cool and unique. Personally I have the purple rear battery cover from the Sprint varient. All the parts are interchangable.

It's for the digitizer assembly. Not the screen. And this phone doesn't even have an LCD. It's got an LED. BIG difference.
I have seen them go for as low as $179,99 on eBay. I have a slight crack on my S4, but i'm not really OCD to the point where I'll spend that much lol.

you can also replace the glass only, check it out on youtube. But the risk is frying your S4
You can replace the glass, but there are two main issues:
1. Air gaps/bubbles between the glass and LCD are very possible.
2. It's very hard to find OEM glass, most are fakes.

I was just replying to the poster above me, should have quoted him.
im still shocked the digitizer is $200..when i broke my htc phone i got a lcd + digitizer + full external housing including glass for $40 and it was in perfect condition and it was a polarized 3d screen. it was 6 months since release at the time.

$40? That's extremely cheap! Even the digitizer assembly for an s3 is still at $100 a year and some time later!

I'm a little confused here... Is the outer glass broken or the actual display? If its the digitizer (the outer glass) it can be replaced. There's people in my area who do it so maybe there'll be one in yours as well. Of recommend having someone else do it unless you're very patient and careful. That could be the difference between a 40 and 180 dollar part.

My P9 EVA-L19 Glass LCD Broken

My P9 EVA-L19 Glass LCD Broken
Hi
Unfortunately, my P9 EVA-L19 fall down and its glass LCD broken .
I purchased a replacement and I hope it works as original one.
http://www.witrigs.com/oem-lcd-with-digitizer-for-huawei-p9-gold
Good to know...
Cool story.
I have received the LCD replacement and I also installed it by my self.
So far so good
but I compare the new LCD with my friend P9 and I found there is slight difference in color.
but it is good for me.
Good congratulations
I bought an replacement lcd assy from germany.. after cursing with the replacement (mostly with the battery) i powered up the phone and noticed that swiping home screens worked only 1 time in 10..
Checked with the debug tools that touch location works perfectly.. but touch point size shows always zero, and the actual touch point size is displayed in the pressure
Can anything be done with the means of software, or is this gonna be a bad ebay review?
Sigh. What is wrong with these people. TEST BEFORE INSTALL. So you can send it back to warranty without issues and not leave a bad eBay review for a defective screen.
..
yes you have to TEST BEFORE INSTALL
I recommend this replacent so far

I bought the LCD the OEM here, work and looks great. Don't know how to tell if it's OEM but everything seems as good as original. I also compared with other P9 and couldn't tell that mine was replaced.
I also bought a OEM battery to fix the suddenly shutting down problem at less than 50% charge, mainly when using camera. Seems fixed.

I currently have two huawei p9, wife's and sister in-laws, my wife is on her second screen already and needs to be replaced again.
The screens I found, cheap ones on eBay (lltrader I think) they don't look too bad at all.
First screen I replaced on my wife's was awful and the glue melted and the glass seperate and cracked within a week.
The second was from the seller I mentioned above, but she is a clumbsy woman.
So for this third one I am looking for for a glass screen protector, the problem is the replacement screens don't have the curved edges. So all the screen protectors for the position are too small or are designed to fit the curved edges...
Do any of you know a phone with very similar dimensions that I could try a screen protector from. I am sick of replacing screens now...

Pixel 2 XL Broken LCD glass and scratched front camera!!! Solutions?

Hello and sorry for my bad english recently i trade my Redmi Note 7 4/64 for a pixel 2 xl with cracked glass near to front facing camera. Well i went to my local service and asked if there is chance to replace only glass he told me NO, to replace the glass only need oca machine and etc. Also we saw the front camera lens at microscope and it has scratches which effect the quality....well i have found some tempered glasses that they cover the whole front camera (because mine has no glass at front camera its empty ) and buy a new camera but i dont know if they quality is the same as the original (maybe i will buy it from aliexprress for about 10 euros) also will it take dust if i put the temptered glass? it will be like it has glass will effect the quality? sorry again any other suggest is allowed
I recently traded and got a Google Pixel 2 XL. The phone's screen is severely damaged and the front camera has broken glass all in it. There is a Crack @ the bottom of the screen too. I am afraid that it is just getting worse. The device functions just fine, every tap or swipe on the screen can be the last. I am looking for a good cheap device repair shop that can make this device like new. Ifixit is the official repair for the device.
