Problems Sending MMS Over WiFi? - Asus Zenfone 5Z Questions & Answers

Im on TMobile and I had the axon 7 before this, and I never had any problems sending or receiving MMS over WiFi before. On the 5z it seems to hang and sometimes never get delivered. I've had a couple instances where I'm missing SMS that were sent to me as well.
Are there any settings on the phone I can adjust to help with this that I may be overlooking? I'm using the textra app and went through all the mms settings still the same issue

Sending MMS Problems after 2.2

So lately Ive noticed alot of time I send picture messages to people it says they cant recieve them. Some people with other Droids can get them and Blackberry users also have no problem. I sent a picture to a basic cellphone and an iphone and neither phone could download the picture. Anyone else having this problem and is there a fix?
I'm having the same problem. I'm also having a problem receiving messages. I'm using redemption 2.0.4
I'm all stock, so the sending MMS part has to be something with 2.2. I don't have any problem receiving them though

Are you sending through handcent? I cannot send mms through handcent. You have to use stock messenger for now...

Im using totally stock and non-rooted phone. Still gives me issues
MMS has always been a challenge for me with this phone. When I first got it I was able to send MMS to anyone with the exception of iPhone users using most messaging application I tried. To send MMS to iPhone users I had to use the stock messaging application (not Handcent, etc.) and also enter text into the text field, or else it would fail. After I upgraded to 2.2 I noticed that more often than not my MMS were failing regardless of the device I was sending it to and what application I used. This problem seems to be specific to the Incredible and is quite frustrating. Any info or knowledge on the subject would be GREATLY appreciated!

MMS not sending or receiving

For some reason lately I cant send or receive MMS messages. I've had 3 or 4 people send me pictures I cannot get and whenever I try to send them they are stuck on sending but never go through. Using Handcent SMS and on Syndicate 1.2.
I'm sure it was a sprint problem. I had the same thing going on, across various phone types as well (android and non-android). Also I had major radio and data connection issues. all have cleared up now.
yeah everything is working now.

Nexus 5 Hangouts thoughts/issues

Curious to see what others with the Sprint SIII have encountered with this app. I love my sms/hangouts in one that I am excited about.. But I'm having some weird issues that were not present prior to the app's installation..
I'll be on WiFi and sending a photo MMS will send.. Other times it will NOT send even though WiFi is on and functioning. Instead, I have to enable mobile data. Things get weird here. The 3g/1x icon will show while the WiFi icon is showing in my status bar. WAT?
This seems to be the only issue that I've found so far. My only real gripe with it is that it does not support long SMS (yet).
What are all your thoughts on it and have you encountered the same or different problems?
So far I've loved hangouts. I do notice that on wifi, there's a slight lag when converting to mms and then changing to 4g, but I never lose connection.
Maybe try disabling SMS and then reactivating?

Have you found a way to add a widget for hangouts? That would be more better

Anyone using MightyText having a problem sending MMS through Web app?

I love Mighty Text - lets you send/receive SMS/MMS from PC just as if it was sent from phone and it even shows up in your phone.
It's great, but ever since I got my note 3 I can't get MMS to send through Mighty Text. I can send MMS through phone.
I also have Handcent SMS on the phone but that wasn't a problem with my S4 or previous phones.
Anyone have this issue or better yet a solution?
Obviously it's not critical sending text through MightyText still works but I'd like to be able to send MMS that way again.
Thanks

I have Note 3 and same issue. MMS is not sending.
If you are on Wifi, data must also be enabled for MMS to work. I am using Handcent.

I'm not using Handcent or any other text app and I'm having the same issue. Galaxy S3, Android 4.3 and MightyText 4.62. Any tips? Mobile Data is on but can't send group messages or MMS picture messages from the Chrome Web App. All I see if the little clock in the corner and that the message is pending. On the phone I have tried lots of things. Uninstall/Reinstall, Restart, unlink/link, clear cache and data. No dice. Any ideas appreciated.
Possible solution?
I'm on a Note 2, using Handcent and MightyText, and was having the same problem. The following seemed to help: in Handcent settings, I made Handcent my default program for MMS only (when it was default for both SMS and MMS, they didn't go through to MightyText). Hope this helps.
I also cannot send MMS/group message on the computer. I tried to install tweakker, but every time I run it, the app quits by itself... Any solution to this? I tried installing Handcent and making that the default for MMS, that did not help either.
I am running Kitkat on VZW HTC One.
I tried Hand (job) Cent but was not too impressed with the fact about when folks sent me MMS messages. It would want me download them.

It took me five minutes to figure out what all the settings mean and how they work. Maybe because I'm (23 years) old... too old for these tech gadgets. And MightyText still doesn't work for MMS/group message
I got mighty text working with MMS. You can't be on Wi-Fi at all with your device. It's slow, but it works when only on mobile data.

Doesn't work for me.
I installed Contacts+ and made it my default messaging app. Now MMS/group message works using MightyText.
MMS not sending MightyText/SGS4/Android 4.3
Hi
Did anyone come up with a solution to this as I'm hitting the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.3? Everything else works really well - just cannot send MMS or Group messages (which I believe are sent as MMS too).
Have a support ticket open but ~2 weeks now and no reply.
Brian
I'm getting the messages on chrome telling me that its not connected and not working right. I have to keep resyncing them. Ahh it used to work so smooth.
Hello,
I am also running NOTE 3 and handcent with this issue. SMS works fine but MMS stopped working. it was all working fine on my Motorola RAZR HD XT925
going to test with other SMS tools and see what resulkts I get. Its a shame cause I really like handcent

SMS/MMS Picture Send Failures

Pixel 2 XL (unlocked) on the T-Mobile network. I can send messages without an issue and everything else works fine, but when I attempt to text pictures or receive them it hangs and eventually comes back stating it couldn't send. This has happened through the messages app and Textra. I was able to send and receive via Chomp, but that's it.
Anybody else see this happening and if so, have you been able to fix it? I've cleared cache and data, restarted the phone and reset defaults for network.
THANKS!!!

I have that issue sometimes on my N6 and 6p and it appears to be the WiFi calling. Turning off WiFi resolves the issue when that happens to me. I also read that 3rd party sms apps can't send mms when WiFi calling is active on t-Mobile. I normally use the stock sms app for this reason.

Yeah, I'm still looking around. Not sure why it's being difficult. Wi-Fi calling doesn't look to be an option that I'm seeing in settings. And I turned off WiFi and it still wouldn't send. But using Chomp it went right through.

WiFi calling needs to be turned on, and the carrier needs to support it. It's under advanced WiFi

Yup, that worked. That's stupid!!! But, that worked. THANKS!!!
I had to turn off WiFi calling for it to work
Just sending the pic with wifi off - no wifi calling enabled - worked for me.

Me too. Textra even has a setting that will turn wifi off temporarily when sending or receiving MMS. It's under MMS, then Legacy. Then, there is a toggle to turn wifi off.
