HTC 10 and Ainur Audio on unrooted stock Oreo 8 - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I recently bought a HTC 10 to use as a DAP because of its great audio features. Just this week I was reading about Ainur Audio and it apparently makes the HTC 10 sound much better.
However, it has been years since I last rooted an android phone. I find the info here good but very overwhelming and was wondering if I need to root my HTC 10 before installing the Ainur Audio or could I just install it on the stock unrooted Oreo 8.0? If not, then what are the requirements of installing Ainur Audio?

Root is required mate. Root your phone with magisk and flash the zip .

Does installing the Ainur Audio mod really improve the sound on the HTC 10. I am reading how to unlock bootloader but it looks a right hassle. Is there any easy quick straight forward way to unlock the bootloader for the HTC 10?
At the moment I am using Neutron player on my HTC 10 and the sound quality is awesome.
Please advise.

actually its not required. it's based on unity and unity supports all root methods and no root/init.d. so all you need is twrp to flash

Will I still need to unlock the bootloader on my HTC 10 to flash twrp?

Come back when you have unlocked your device:
Unlock and root is not the same!
You need an unlocked bootloader for twrp.
Bootloader of H818 cannot be unlocked yet and maybe never will.
That means no twrp for you.

As said just one post before: you need to have an unlocked device first! Write LG an email and sign the online petition to let them unlock your device (0.05% chance that this will happen) or wait and hope that someone finds another way (1% chance that this will happen)

Is it possible to root Android 8?

I plan on installing the new Android 8 beta 4 to try the new features.
And I was wondering if it is possible to root this version yet.
There are some apps I need root for so it's really important.
Thanks.

If you go to miui from mi flash , it will automatically change recovery to stock and unroot your device. You can flash custom recovery after that and root from that recovery

Bootloop in miui 9 after flashing xposed
root your rom with magisk and install magisk's xposed, works for me
Running XenonHD, helium and tried v88 and v88.1
Able to flash framework and install Xposed_Installer. But what i want is gravitybox and installing that results in bootloops.
Have not tried other modules as i dont need anything else.

[XPOSED] Unlock Dual Sims + SDCard on S9/S9+

This Xposed module removes the unable-to-remove popup message which says that "something wrong is in the sim tray" -
if you use a sim extender to use the device with dual sims and sdcard.
There is no need to recompile services.jar if you have xposed framework installed.
I now have 464GB storage in my device using this

hi, i think xposed framework itself needs root as it hooks into system libraries to work - but you have to read the xposed framework howto.
my apk does not need root by itself. die module is just an addon for xposed framework so you have to install that first.

Yes I think maybe root is required or module not compatible with note 8. Thanks anyway, really hope there will be a solution for unrooted firmwares.

If you upgraded to Pie you're out of luck I'm afraid. Xposed supports Nougat and Oreo (even though the oreo is more like a beta) The guy Rovo probably don't have the time to get xposed working for pie. Since there's few people with his skillset, and due to the complexity of xposed, I wouldn't be surprised if we seen the last of Xposed with oreo.
Update: Working fine now since 11. of january - i never had this popup message again and second sim is working fine

Virtual Xposed can only alter apps within it's own sandbox (virtual box). Therefore it can not reach system calls or apps outside of the sandbox, so no it won't work

- flash this firmware. (just like typhical custom roms)
- reboot to recovery ( to check if its reverted to stock recovery)
- reboot.

I just removed the assert line sir.
Glad that I flashed this one . Here is a quick review for all those who have questions about this.
1. Stable rom. Can easily be used as a daily driver.
2. Gcam 6.024 fully supported. Even the front cam works. Night mode works l, no lags what so ever.
3. Volte function is supported . Dual volte supported.
4. Flashing this rom will not lock your bootloader or remove custom recovery. So have fun.
5. Battery back up is amazing. Can last up to 6hrs of pubg play with frame rates set to high.
6. All banking apps working for me.
7. Rooted with latest magisk 19.1
8. Audio output is decent.
Things that didn't work
1. WhatsApp video calling lag. This stupid bug has made its way in official firmware as well. Not sure how to resolve it. Rest all gr8

Edit build.prop inside vendor folder
Than add com.whatsapp or package name of any whatsapp mod to line camera.hal1.packagelist
Reboot, if still lagging, edit the name of camera.hal1.packagelist to vendor.camera.hal1.packagelist
It will help others of someone could try this.
