i need vpn urgent !! - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

hey all
please i need a working free vpn to make a phone call via social application
any help ?!!

Use the free one built into the wifi app?

wireguard

Amazing that someone hasn't heard of Google Play where there is an untold number of free VPN's. I'll even bet that a quick Google will find a few. Either is going to be faster than posting on a forum and having to wait for aomeone to answer your plea. But then, some people just have to be led.

Makes me wonder how people who post this sort of moronic question have managed to sign up for the forum in the first place, or indeed found it at all. Or are we being trolled?

Thank you, and it's still pathetic that someone doesn't know how to search. And BTW, learn how to post questions that fully explain your problem. A quick search found this
https://www.guidingtech.com/58822/free-vpn-android-apps-bypass-country/
https://www.hongkiat.com/blog/free-android-vpn-apps/

I have to say that we don't know the position of @amjadRR
So his question is legit.
If you have never been to a country like China for example you won't understand @Tel864
But in short: Google is blocked in China and that means also Google services don't work there. Therefore you can't just google or download something in the Playstore, since the playstore is also blocked. So it's not that easy to get a VPN if you're in China.
I've been there for a year. Luckily I knew that before I went there, so I downloaded some VPN's before.
You can't just assume that everyone is living in a developed country or assume anything at all...
Anyway, if you need a download link for a VPN app let me know @amjadRR.

Thank you for your reply

I downloaded all these vpn and not working and so.e of them work and after few days it stop work :crying:

@amjadRR the reason for these VPNs not working is very simple. They are in the store, so of course the government is gonna block them.
But as I said earlier in this forum, get wireguard.
This one might work and it is for free.
You just need to download the VPN profiles and open them with the wireguard app.

Nothing assumed and I have been there. What I assume is someone knowing how to post a question on forums so they can get the information they need. These forums are packed full of lazy people that would rather ask for something rather than search. BTW, there is a way to search in China and find those things. A free VPN is most likely not going to work. VYPRVPNI will make itself invisible and is what I used.

[Q] House hunting apps

Hi all,
having previously owned an iP***e and having applications such as rightmove and findaproperty i would just like to know if anyone has come across any android apps that do this particular job. Im looking for a house at the moment and these apps really helped me out before getting a quick insight in to house details before rerquesting a viewing. I currently us layar to get the details but it is a very long winded way of doing it.
Any advice would be great
Very +1 on this. Also had no luck on finding a good property app.
Sent from my HTC Desire
there is a immoscout24 app but afaik it is only useable in germany.
I also know that the AR browser layar and the located based service app Aloqua has such services but I think only for germany, too.
you could use layar with the Find a Property Overlay... works kind of fine for me
Speaking as an estate agent, why don't you register with an agent, throughout all these different apps/websites, the agent can tell you about new ones straight away rather than u waiting til it appears on the net. Our bargains tend to sell before they hit the net.

[BETA] SpeechyVTS

A translator you can really talk to, literally. Say what you need and Speechy VTS will translate and speak out loud what you said in English for others to know what you really need or if you're just trying to learn the language to prepare for your trip.
So when you're at the Airport and no one speaks English and you don't know the native tongue, you can say "How do I get to Terminal B" and know someone who speaks Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, or French can help.
Currently in BETA and as we've encountered 1-error out of 10 so far, we may be needing more testers but on a non-AT&T Network. If you're interested, please let me know as we will contact you if you're deemed needed.
Thank you all for our continued support by XDA and it's users, YOU!
Nice app, but I have question: Does app supports other languages, or only those listed ?

Hi Budniu,
Currently at the time of the screen shot, those were the only languages supported but we've now migrated to a whole new speech service that is using a speech server hosted in the cloud...
We we're trying to make it a non-net connected App but we've gotten requests/concerns wanting other languages like Babel fish, Bing & Google Translators offer.
Good thing is, we don't make App's around us and what we want. We make what YOU, the users want and that is our main goal.

That is so terrific to hear! We can't wait for you to try it out too and see what you think about it...
Unfortunately though, an automatic closing issue kept occurring on non-US Phone Carriers using SpeechyVTS 0.0.6B. Everyone who got a pre-existing copy, including USA has been asked to please remove from his/her phone, just temporarily.
Good news is, we've spotted the error and I think pretty much done but just want to make sure it's workable and stays loaded before allowing even US users access once again... We will notify you ALL immediately and update the screen shot.
I appreciate your message as it's nice to know we have others interested!

Speechy: VTS got a bit of a face-lift... Here she is! Now with a iPhone "like" scroll list to easily scroll through the list of languages and the list acts just like an iPhone list as it can be flicked and extra "cushion" to the top and bottom of the list when you pull/scroll through it...
Icon's/Tiles are being revamped... All those who were interested in testing, you'll be notified.
Thank you,
Lance

Hello,
With the new update, all testers are desired. We've changed how Speechy works almost entirely as for functionality to try and make it, without sounding too rude, idiot proof.
I will notify you once the file is encrypted and ready for export.

BETA Requests ENDING!
I would like to thank EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, you've all been great and have made this very exciting for us.
However, we've gotten an outrageous amount of requests which will be ending, tonight. We will not be allowing anyone else as of 11/23/11 - 9:45 PM PDT. Very sorry but as we didn't want to turn anyone down, we got mass amounts of requests!
Q: Will you have any other BETA's?
A: Yes! We're actually fixing it up for the 3rd BETA release but making this public, just like this as it seems to be AMAZING people wishing to try our stuff.
Q: ... But will it be Voice Enabled?
A: Actually, it is... The App is named TESA (The Extremely Smart App) and it is our take on the ever so popular iPhone 4GS Plugin, Siri.
Q: Is it just like Siri?
A: No. TESA is programmed with a hundred+ (or will be) options/functionality and really to be used to help those who are blind or bad vision and additionally for general use of course.
Q: Hundred options? Doesn't sound like much!
A: It is quite a bit but that's ok as we're making this a public TODO List where you the users get to help add functionality in to an App. With a simple form, submit a desired task OR word/phrase/etc and could be added and in some cases (if verified) instantly!
As for TESA, we'll need a valid Full Name, Zipcode and Email but not everyone will be elected to try it unfortunately and please wait until the thread for it is created before requesting to help.
Thank you all yet again!
Sincerely,
Lance
Quick question: it will be a free/ad-based app, or paid?
For promoting (so aggressively) commercial app you should pick another forum, AFAIK...
It will be free. If you wish to have the entirely other edition with OCR translations included (not shown), that will be paid. TESA will be free as well, maybe a popup but doesn't seem logical since really no UI for it and can use Bluetooth to use it.
I forgot to ask... Which forum should I be directed to for my commercial apps?

Deep Link Download Option
Hello,
If you've been added to the BETA but can't access the file? Please open your web browser to: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/1b8d1380-45f9-41ab-bdba-5c1ed248f507.
This is the "deep link" to the App and will allow you to go forth and obtain it. If your email does not match your LIVE Account, you will be forbidden from being able to obtain it.
If you continue to have access issues, please alert me.
Thank you,
Lance

[Links] Ad-blocking apps (no longer in Play Store)

Since Google decided to get rid of the ad-blocking apps on the Play Store, I figured it would be a good time to take a minute and post these links for a few of the more popular ones.
Of course I take no credit for anything. I only posted these links here for a quick reference when the inevitable "where did the ad-block apps go?" threads pop up. All thanks should be directed to the devs who worked hard on these apps.
You can see I do not have a donation link, and never will, because I do not want your money. If you consistently use an app, you should be willing to donate to that dev, or purchase the premium versions of apps you use.
AdFree Official - Currently their site links to Google Play, but surely they'll fix it soon.
APK DOWNLOAD
AdBlock Plus Official - Includes a direct download link.
APK DIRECT DOWNLOAD
AdAway ?Official? (code.google) - link to download F-Droid and install AdAway through F-droid.
APK DIRECT DOWNLOAD
If anyone has one you want me to add, or a better link to include, just comment and I will make the desired changes. Thanks.

I am sorry that you feel this way. But the fact is that we all have a choice, always. Every man has the ability to choose but no ability to escape the necessity of choice. One of the greatest assets of Android is the ability to choose, let's not start limiting those choices on this great open platform.
You are correct that I am a senior member and I do have plenty of experience with XDA. That is why I know this is a valid topic, and the mods should not (historically speaking) have a problem with this thread. Like already pointed out, XDA played a large roll in most of these apps. However, if any mod asks that I remove this, I will. And if any dev wishes his app removed, it will be done asap.
Don't be sorry for how I feel, kid.
Using ad blockers may be good for whoever uses it, but remember you are installing an app to circumvent the value exchange of someone else's labor, going out of your way to make sure they don't get anything in return. That's stealing.
From the dictionary: steal, take (another person's property) without permission or legal right, especially secretly or by force, and without intending to return it

There are spam ads on the net, potentially malicious ad links, and those bs ultra-malicious privacy invading airpush ads, etc..
Me personally I always buy an app that I use that has a donate or premium version. And as far as the "kid" comment, I was only trying to be polite and respect your opinion, I think it is you sir that is acting like a child.
Let this be the last of this conversation, from anybody, or I will have to contact a mod about it. And like ways anybody that has a problem with this thread please contact a mod about it.
Re: Ad-blocking apps
Wow, didn't know they removed them. Makes sense though.
On the topic of ad blocking apps, what do you guys recommend?
I download torrents on my phone and whenever I tap the search box, 2 tabs of ads open up. I'm using the one built into rom toolbox pro.
Sorry for sort of stealing the thread, it was just relevant to what I want to know and seems too small of a topic to open a thread for.

Afaik there is no benefit from installing multiple adblockers, just pick the one you like the most and stick with it. The exception being AirPush ads, although some traditional blockers may block those now too..

I haven't had a problem with anything anybody has said yet; I see both sides of the story, this thread is not about that and I don't want to see it closed over petty bickering about the ethics of blocking ads. Has nothing to do with a pissing contest.
Hey
If I don't want to see ads, nobody can force me to do so.
For developers, everyone have their PayPal account and
there shouldn't be any problem donating to them by your own
money. It's better and more efficient option than watching those awful
ads everywhere and tapping on them.
I would rather send them money if they work are improving my enjoyment
of using my cellular phones. And you know people do appriciate their work.
This is my opinion.
Do not install airblocker
So I just went to find AirBlocker, the simple/clean app I use to set up and forget after ever flash.. I was surprised to see it hadn't been removed from the play store, installed, and imediately notice the malicious/malware apps it placed on my homescreen. (See attatched.) Do not install AirBlocker. I am disappoint, so heads up.
Anyone have a good AirPush blocker alternative? Although its not really needed as you shouldn't have an app installed that has AirPush built in.

I updated the OP to include an apk download for AdFree (my preferred ad-blocker). I just pulled it from my phone and uploaded it to Google Drive. It is the latest version that was available from the Play Store before Google pulled it. Hopefully bigtincan fixes their official site to host the APKs themselves instead of linking to the missing Play Store link.
@WiredPirate - Thanks for starting this thread! :good:I had no idea this was happening, and I completely agree with your stance on adblocking and avoiding privacy invasion. I was about to report mateusm's priggish, provoking rants, but it looks like he got the picture..
Too bad about airblocker.. I've personally used AirPush Detector in the past, and it's open source. [dropbox link to BU'd apk] [google play link.. for now] I'm pretty critical these days about invasive ads, analytics (collects data on your personal phone usage, i.e. google analytics - watch out for this people), and especially the actual data collection via network. I've found that using a good firewall with a good ad blocker along with some advanced common sense keeps security tight regarding these concerns the majority of the time. I use Android Firewall, Adaway or Adfree, Android Tuner - to modify events triggering ads or invasive data collection, and 'advanced' or learned common sense with security and privacy protection. I think a firewall for android is increasingly necessary for android.
*Something very very important --not really related to ads but to network security and privacy protection-- to always consider is network encryption. This mostly pertains to wifi use, particularly in public or any network accessed by multiple users as a hotspot. If you're not using an encrypted network relay via proxy server when using wifi, you're taking a big risk having personal data, passwords, credit cards, fill-out form info, SSN, ***and any collected data from ads and analytics crap!!*** When accessing wifi networks over time with unencrypted personal data, expect that someone will eventually collect this data probably without even targeting you and it could be used against you. I'm just saying we all got to be careful with our multi-networking gps computer phones. I don't believe my phone should have one single ad, just like with my computer.

[Q] Only Free Apps in Play Store

I have just received my M8 today and I have set it up fine however I can only see free apps in the Play Store - there are no paid apps anywhere.

Screenshot press vol down and power at same time and hold.

Well it wouldn't authorise my card until I had money in my account however I still can't see paid apps...
Well I can't see or even filter between free and paid apps when I do a search. I can however see Top Free, Top Grossing etc if I swipe from left to right, tap on Store Home, then tap on apps and then swipe left once and choose photography from the Categories list, then it shows all, free, paid, top grossing etc.
Sucks that it doesn't show those filters when you're doing it as a search.
I've spoken with Google Support and they said it's because I live on the Isle of Man. I didn't have this issue with my last phone and none of my friends have this issue but the rep I spoke with is confident that is the reason.

It probably is. In terms of technology, living in the Isle of Man might as well mean living in the middle of nowhere. It's a complete joke.
I replied to the email the Google Support rep sent me after my phone call:
I think I have to be honest here; the issue was last updated over a year ago. Why does it look like Google has given this issue such little attention?
The Isle of Man is a constituent of the United Kingdom so I don't see any issues...
I feel like I've been left out to be honest, all because of where I live. This shouldn't be an issue yet it is and I don't quite understand what barriers are in place to stop some residents of the Isle of Man from purchasing paid apps. Could you please let me know the reason for this? Or could you please put me in touch with someone who can?

I know using Tor can make google think you're from a different country than you're currently in but I don't know if the payment you'll do will work or not. You'll of course have to sign in to google and then buy it still, CC is probably on their system already.
Don't know if it'll work if you go through Tor(Let's say you're in the "UK" now "London") then signing up for a new google account and add your necessary info(Will credit card work still?) and then attempting to download it.
I haven't done it myself so I can't really confirm, haven't had this problem like you're having now but, who knows, it's maybe worth a shot.
it’s quite simple,
you hold down the power button for
a couple seconds and then you
press the home button. Make sure
you don’t hold down the Power
button for too long, or else you will
see the Power dialog. Hit THANKS If i helped

Yeah I think he already figured how to do the screenshots... :good:
Your best bet is the root the phone if you haven't done so already. Then install Xposed and this module. This has a function to unrestrict the Play store. Hopefully that will work.

Note that it will NOT allow you to download apps that are not offered in your country, or restricted by anything but your custom DPI.
Stated so in the article, but I suppose it won't hurt to have a look either way.

Firestick 2 Won't run without google play services which are not supported by device

I sideloaded a television providers app (Fios Mobile) installed on my device. The app was working perfectly but it just updated and I keep getting the error "Won't run without google play services which are not supported by your device".
I tried reverting back to the previous version but it was a mandatory update, so no dice. I tried sideloading the Google Play store but that did not help.
Is there a workaround for this type of error? The app does not API call any of Google Play Services. It seems like many of the TV apps are dropping support (they encouraged it a few years ago to lower bills) so you buy another Set top box. Other cable apps know you are inserting a device into a HDMI port and disable it from working that way.
I can download each individual TV app and enter my television providers password or mirror from my Android Phone but that would be a huge inconvenience.
Any suggestions? If there an app that will fool my TV app into thinking the play store is installed?
Since every channel pretty much has it's own app now, is there another app that will take its place instead of downloading each channels separate app and entering the password?
Is your firestick rooted? (Sorry, I don't know if they can even be rooted.) If so, there's an Xposed module to allow apps to work without Google Play Services.
Another idea is to get the Fios Mobile app from the Amazon App Store and side load that one onto your Fire TV: https://www.amazon.com/Verizon-Services-Corp-FiOS-Mobile/dp/B00DGVUD9I/
That one may not have any dependencies on Google apps.
Seriously? 5 seconds of looking at general...

Seriously, you are giving me outdated information???? "Fios Mobile won't run unless you update Google Play Services". It would be nice to know where to find updated compatible versions for each. I have looked at several app stores and none seem to work. So please cut that attitude as your five-second search advice did not get me any further than I was before.

Last I checked the Firestick 2 can't be routed. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I tried two different app stores but not that Amazon one. Crossing fingers!!!! DARN. Just tried it and said incompatible, you can't make purchases from this device. Fios does support Kindle fire but as I suspect, they don't want the app as a box substitute like they used too.
Maybe, someone has an updated version of what Timmy P linked too. Hopefully, they will test the link first before making condescending remarks about checking older posts.

Because when I read that site from the original author it said FTV and FTV stick not 2 dumbass. Then I read the re-post on here claiming FTV 2 from MARCH 2017!! DId you not see where I said everything was working perfectly since September 4th!!!! Technology changes fast little tike. Google also updates and apps do along with it buttercup.
But I assumed someone with such a smug post must be correct but what a surprise you were not cupcake.
Since there is only 1 person who found a fix on the entire internet, it must not be a very easy fix. If it were, he could put it on APK sites for constant updates.
That is why I also asked 1: If there is a workaround. Easy/permanent if possible, so I don't need to worry about this update. Even easier if there is a 3rd party app that would consolidate all the apps and enter my default password for me.
P.S Being smug even when your correct is being an ass, doing so when you are incorrect makes you a stinky diarrhea with **** nuggets still stuck kind of ass.
