Poor reception, even after flashing latest global? - Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Questions & Answers

So even after flashing the latest global rom and applying the radio fix, I still can't get as good of reception as I can with my Walmart ****phone. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

Try getting back to an eu rom specifically 8.8.9 eu.

I was on one but switched to this hoping it'd work. I'll switch back this evening.

Ok, best of luck. Also enable the *#*#86583#*#* fix in your dialer for VOLTE.

Okay, so I just wanna be safe. I had flashed the rom from this thread yesterday. Which miui 10 8.8.9 rom should I flash to ensure I don't brick?

Thanks for the help! Hope he shows up! This stuff would be impossible for people like me without people like all of you.

Good question. Is xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 a lower version to your current Global ROM and will that trigger an arb brick. Ask one of our xiaomi.eu developers on their web forum. My phone came from tradingshenzen with an unlocked bootloader and xiaomi.eu 8.7.22. I had all the signal and connectivity problems that everyone else was reporting with the fake Global ROMs, so I installed STABLE China MIUI 9 using MiFlash to clean all partitions then flashed TWRP and xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 and the phone works like a charm. I haven't had a connection problem in Canada or the United States and consistently get LTE.

Interesting development. I booted in to the chinese rom that's part of installing that official global rom and I had full bars. Switched back to the global though, out of not wanting to deal with the chinese rom.

The global roms 9.6.4.0-9.6.6.0 have a broken modem.
as you dont have antirollback yet,
if you dont want Anti-rollback:
Flash china 8.8.9 via fastboot while selecting "clean all"
flash xiaomi.eu 8.9.20 via twrp
Have a good day

Oh, no, I definitely seem to have antirollback. I tried 8.8.9 but Fastboot said their was an ARB conflict. I think I thought I had no choice at some point.

So I followed this guide, but after that didn't help I tried 8.9.20. Now I can't get past the loading screen, but I don't know if that's just because I made a mistake or what.
Edit: I'm an idiot. I misunderstood what the .eu roms were. I'm dling 8.9.20 now.

Are we able to flash the file through twrp? Or do we have to wait for someone to strip it down?
Will wait for a debloated rooted zip to come out

Has anyone been able to root this thing? Their old zip doesn't work on this one.

i hope someone come out with a solution!!!

From the oppo forums, it seems like it's perfectly okay to flash it from TWRP, but the Rom will overwrite the recovery with the stock one

You might have to install it as a system app, but it might work seeing as how both run ColorOS
What about theX9007 platform?
This is great news about a new, stable release, but everything says it is for the X9006 only. Myself and others have the X9007. I use my X9007 in Europe and the USA... and have no intention of using LTE in China. If I flash this, will I essentially have the X9006?
I am currently running the last X9006 beta that was OK to flash on the X9007. All my cell networks are working fine, including LTE. If I do this, will I need to perform a special modem flash for baseband... or only if I want a "Chinese" phone? Everything I have always heard is that both phones are exactly the same hardware.

Pick a modem for your android version and flash it in a custom recovery.

When Marshmallow OTA for d851?

Hi.when t mobile g3(d851) gets official mm update?anybody knows?
You can track the progress on the t-mobile site. Right now its in the first of 3 phases so it could be several months before we get it. We may get lucky and get it earlier but only time will tell.
isn t there any marshmallow stock rom port of other version like cloudyg3 does, one stock rom for all variants, so we can have it earlier and optimized ?

You can try this ROM here... before you jump at it and start flashing away though, bare in mind that there are still bugs. Major ones for the D851 specifically include BT and video recording. I've flashed it and using it as my daily driver but if those features are essential to you I would recommend sticking to cloudy for now

MIUI 10 8.9.20: "Request stable rom update" notification

I had a very interesting notification appear tonight. Have a look at the screenshot, it's in Chinese and I have no idea what is going on, can anyone translate? Maybe this means MIUI 10 Stable is on the way...
Thanks
I got it too. If someone that reads Chinese can translate it to english that would be very helpful. Especially the part about ROOT. Thank you in advance.
Also if you choose applied another message later will pop up saying automatic update when not busy - accept or decline.
Translated loosely...

Thanks! Seeing as I'm unrooted with locked bootloader there should be no risk from applying so I did, and declined auto updates.
I'll report back if something happens
Keep us posted. Thank you.
Hi, are your devices locked Chinese or Global?

Question Any Luck with Flashing a Tmobile to International?

I cant seem to find anything yet. I know It was possible for my 7 Pro.
Why are you trying to flash T-mobile firmware to the international version?
I will like to find some information about this too.

Delay on updates :S, T-mobile needs to release them after they are approved by OP.

That sounds better. Once you are able to SIM-Unlock, you can Bootloader unlock and flash the Global firmware.
It's doable. The Global/EU ROMs will break your modem, so you'll have to re-flash your TMO modem back in order to get connectivity. I will not be making a guide until MSM is available.

You can ask the same for why they removed dual sim support on Global that's not opened up when you flash another region.
At a minimum, the T-Mobile ROM has device_policy.xml set explicitly to ssss single sim. Replacing it with dsds enabled device_policy.xml from another region crashes the modem. Flashing another region's modem.img does the same thing essentially.
But I am on EU OTA and working awesome. 5G coverage with T-Mobile

Haha my bad, you had a similar name.
So, you have a LE2127 that you flashed BA ROM?
I have a 9 I said. And yes I flashed BA.
Would be weird as hell if it failed for 9 Pro. I never heard of this before owning previous OnePlus phones with T-Mobile.
Really curious that Global or EU firmware would break 9 Pro on T Mobile.

Nope.
But I am still wondering why this would break if EU and Global work perfect with T Mobile. That is so weird. I have seen plenty of threads of T Mobile users unlocking and flashing Global without problems. This is first I have seen of this. This is so weird to me. Like doesn't make sense if EU and Global work with T Mobile so by switching it would stop working. That makes no sense to me.

It's not that the modem doesn't work on the carrier, it's that the modem itself crashes. I'm referring specifically to T-Mobile branded device where the model number ends in 7
If someone on an EU device want to send me their redacted qxn or trust me with their full qxn, I can test somethings out
That is crazy... Cause guaranteed T Mobile users have done this but I haven't read of modems crashing. Truly interesting.

I can almost guarantee you I'm one of the first LE2127 owner to unlock the bootloader and do this.
Why are you even arguing with me about a device you don't have, and whereas I can actually test this stuff and find out exactly what makes the modem power on again?
