9/25 update: This build resolves in-call audio issues experienced by certain users with dual sim cards.
AndroidFileHost | MEGA

I never expected to see Oreo on this device. I installed this ROM last night, and so far it is running well. Thanks for building and sharing!

Coldhans, I know you're working on two roms for this device. Is arrow your own implementation, and that's why it's unoffical? I'd rather put this on my phone if it is. I know I shouldn't ask, but the other rom that you're working on(crdroid) says it's able to install magisk, so is there no root implementation on this one too? Can I install any root, or does one already exist on this? This will make up my mind up on which to install.

Arrow's next build will be official.
crDroid uses LOS inbuilt root; Arrow doesn't have root built in and will require Magisk or another root solution.

Yay! I use magisk to install xposed, which has xposed edge (my gesture control). Can't live without it.

A couple issues i have got.
WhatsApp camera + Video calling - works by itself at times but mostly doesnt
Video playback on WhatsApp (+GIF) and Instagram doesn't work good.
Does anyone have the issues?
And the volume in call is very low.
Is there a workaround apart from using Custom Kernel (when we have it) and tweaking the speaker gain?

nice rom .. real thx .. only one problems till now
is that online videos doesn't play .. like in instagram and facebook and whatsapp statues and stuff like that
sometime is just keep loading other times sound plays only with out video
I have attached log cats .. maybe it can help out .. first time so idk if it done right
thx u

Can you share screenshots ?

I seem to have a little problem with the rom upon startup. Phone boots, loads the rom, then, after a few seconds, the screen fades to black. The rom is loaded, and you can hear the double tap, notifications, etc. I have to press the power button, until the screen turns on(the reboot menu shows too, but that's expected). Everything is fine after that, and the rom/phone is very stable, and smooth. I don't think it's a hardware problem, it doesn't show up anywhere else(even in recovery). Is there certain apps that this rom doesn't like? It runs like a charm, even when rooted, except this. Also if it's rooted, don't put kernel aditor(mod) in internal storage, it will make the system close, and reopen apps( The only reinstall I had to make after). Great smooth rom, coldhans, you did a good job on this.

Found out that the screen lock(pin, don't know about pattern, only use pin) may have something to do with it. Turned that off, phone booted normally. When the official rom is released, will it be enforcing, or permissive?
Can't use the fingerprint button because of Google's
insistence on having a lock method with the setup. I need that for my camera. Any ideas? A way to bypass that? It's a smooth rom regardless.

Does exFat work in this ROM? The lineage ROM doesn't support it and I don't want to reformat my 250Gb card. Thanks for the ROM @coldhans!

No, it doesn't work yet...

Battery drain is still good for a old phone(of course using greenify) , the room seems well balanced. Apps are doing their usual tricks with notifications, and the power draw is a touch better. Good start.

Official builds have started! See the updated link in the OP.
Edit: Changelog for this week: Added full rootless Substratum support, merged October security patches.
SELinux is still permissive as of now.
I'll follow up with bug reports in this thread soon, I've been a little busy with work. (thanks especially to @reggjoo for being so active, know that I'm paying attention!)

Yes, always. You didn't let this phone down, so others shouldn't let your work down.

Dirty flashed, per your instructions. Don't reboot phone after, when installing magisk, install it right after you install official( with a dalvik/cache wipe before, and after rom install) . Update went smoothly, no probs.

Very nice rom, ik have encountered no problems so far, music plays good battery drain is excellent, so far everything works good, thanks a lot. I will post my findings when encountering problems.

Hm, my findings are a bit different.
1) No issues with playstore, always connects, no problem updating/installing apps (using open gapps)
2) Camera is working quite fine, focus is very slow, but working .. (open camera or camerlingo lite)
3) Battery is OK, not excellent, but OK, can do a day without charging (drops about 25-30% during night though)
4) this is a known issue, Nougat changes the apps_log partition since it is not used by the system, so rather than waste it, it is used to pass commands to recovery. Only a full ftf flash will solve that at the moment (might be also doable by backing up the partition using dd or a partition backup app.. never tested though)
I did install L-speed and just selected the balanced profile (trying to see if there is a difference, but not such a heavy phone user anymore .. ). I have no issues with the phone, Substratum is working (although not sure if the OMS support is OK, somehow the layers are a bit off when I select OMS support in e.g. Dark Swift theme.. don't know now to confirm...)
A very nice build, love the blur feature kudos @markakash

halogenOS Checklist
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another rom:
Please take a full nandroid backup!
Please copy your back up to an external device.
Backing up your Internal Storage is also recommended.
When completed, please clean flash the build!
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM has the same Android version, it is not guaranteed. In case of serious
crashes please do a clean flash.
If you get app crashes after dirty flashing over XOS 6 or another ROM, please just
clear the app data of those apps, and it should work fine then.
XOS is a new generation cutting-edge OS for Android based on Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from CodeAuroraForums (CAF),
featuring only extremely minor set of components from CyanogenMod (CM) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the CodeAuroraForums (CAF), the CyanogenMod
organization and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,

init.d support
BusyBox
Super smooth
Signature Spoofing toggle (Support for MicroG)
Support for trusted third-party WebViews like Chrome
Long press on home for assist toggle
Kernel optimizations
OpenGapps (Mini/Micro/Nano recommended) and Banks GApps support

Very high compatibility with other ROMs
How to update the ROM:
Download the latest zip
Reboot into TWRP (Please use official TWRP)
Do not wipe anything
Flash the ROM
Optional : Flash GApps and/or SuperSU
Reboot
You don't need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You don't need to flash gapps again. There is some magic going on which keeps your GApps. Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
You don't need more than 5 minutes.

Nice to see more devices having this ROM, but I would like to point out that halogenOS is based on AOSP + CAF and not on AOSP-CAF. There is a difference between those two, so please update the title soon

Fixed!
Thanks for the amazing work with the ROM!
After one day, I can say this ROM is amazing! very fast and battery friendly! Thank you
smooth rom
I'm usually pretty skeptical of all the ROMs that get peddled around here, but wow. Silky smooth and very impressive boot time (after first boot). Very minimal selection of apps included by default, unlike all the junk that comes with LineageOS et al. The cherry on top is microG support Very nice, I'm keeping my eye on this one. Thanks!
Okay Okay for me
Though the ROM looked good ... it didn't feel like having all the require features.
Also, it didn't detected SIM card .. :silly:
Making U turn to previous version of another ROM :crying:
Reinstalled the ROM and everything was fine ... still i didn't found the volume rocker... volume tile.. this is so far gooooooddd...

MicroG allows you to have a complete t google free rom:

Some parts are not full stable yet but if you want to get rid of the batterkillers like google play services and all that spy stuff it´s worth a try.
So will this ROM become official?

First time installing crDroid to your ATHENE, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip <--& vendor img, if applicable--> to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.

Pretty good ROM already, considering it is a beta :good:
64 bit: there is a /system/lib64 folder
- Not lagging
- GPS fix not included (yet)
- OpenCamera: Flash doesn't seem to be in synch with exposure
With the bugs we already know don't have a solution, this rom is in very good shape! Crdroid starting in Oreo with style!

Clean flash without Gapps but with Magisk.

For sure, always
However, nothing significant so far.
All major functionality is there (calls, data, wifi, gps, video, audio; camera works, flash synched in Cameringo,
AnTuTu score quite good; ROM is pre-rooted, ...)
Open your own XDA thread maybe?
In particular since your ROM seems to be 'official', in crDroid terms ...
(unless you are @Rkschunk ...)

What about lag?

That's true, initially it 'felt' a bit laggy. I forgot to mention.
However, this is not easy to quantify, and right now it is not a problem for me.

First time installing crDroid to your device, or coming from another ROM?:
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device

It's stated in the OP, it's not working atm.
Device : Z00T
crDroid : 2019-01-21
Many thanks to mg712702 for putting this together - looks great!
A few notes:
-I was upgrading from Lineage OS and I needed to not just wipe /data but do a reformat to get it to boot - I was getting "please enter your android password" prompts on boot even after flashing. TWRP may seem to fail with the message "couldn't mount /data" but try rebooting and it may just have worked enough to boot.
-I originally flashed ROM + gapps and the camera worked fine. Without gapps the camera crashes. (as pointed out above)
- I tried to install Magisk - TWRP rebooted suddenly halfway through the install and now the ROM hangs on boot. Guess I am going to have to reflash.
Stable Pie Rom
Everything is working on my Z00T!
-Camera works on stock ay first boot but there are time that it crashes but reboot it fix it
-Video Recording also works even on pixelmaster
-Smooth af
-Customization all working
My only struggle with this is with magisk sometimes it disappears after boot.
Overall great rom!
I Can't test the battery life because my battery is ****! ?
Aex 6.2 is also working
Good Job!?
Hey @mg712702 thanks for the rom dev. Its my favorite rom & good to see this rom with pie because of you. Anyway keep up the good work!!
Amazing Rom Mate!
The ROM is absolutely amazing and I appreciate your work a lot! This is smooth and mostly stable,I wish the VoLTE was fixed sooner or later it will be a blessing for me!And again an amazing ROM cheers to your effort

I've tried dirty flashing over a few ROMs like Bootleggers, AEX Oreo, crDroid Oreo & LOS 16. Most times it works at first boot, sometimes they wouldn't work at all. Or it may even not work at first boot but after restarting it might... or after a couple of reboots. But generally in my experience if it manages to work on first boot (or first 2-3 rather), if I restart again the camera will not work anymore. Tried the LOS 16 method of clearing cache and all but to no avail. It's pretty unstable I would say (the camera I mean).

I had the same problem but I found I could install 17.3 and then I did a direct install of 18 from the manager. You might try this. Great ROM by the way. Thanks to the developer for keeping the ZOOT alive and up to date.

RELEASE
This is an alternative ROM for the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, offering several privacy features.
Please report any issues you observe apart from the ones listed below. Logs are needed for me to fix anything (preferably dmesg and logcat). I can't test NFC very thoroughly, to please report your findings.
FEATURES
Signed with dev keys
Up-to-date kernel
WireGuard kernel support
DOWNLOAD
You can download the latest ROM releases here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=333224
Latest TWRP: https://dl.twrp.me/lilac/
Check the ChangeLog below for firmware requirements!
INSTALLATION
Before first install: flash and boot into TWRP, format data, reboot to recovery and wipe all internal partitions.
After above step / any subsequent dirty flashes: Boot into recovery, put the ROM, GApps and root (if needed) on sdcard and flash.
Note: There is not going to be a LOS su addon anymore. If you need root, flash a root manager of your choice. No guaranteed support from LOS for this.
When updating from previous builds, simply dirty flash the ROM, together with any GApps and/or other modifications - addon.d will not work due to currently unavailable TWRP decryption.
Recommended GApps: MindTheGapps-12.1.0
KNOWN ISSUES
Stock camera is not working anymore due to incompatibility of stock library (libimageprocessorjni.so) with new libgui

Nice to have a separate LineageOS 19.1 for XZ1C thread, but it might be nice to credit this ROM to @derf elot more explicitely in the OP, since it seems to be mostly his work.

Hi guys, an first of all thanks for the work you've done.
Now i'm bit confuse, i'v achieved the flashing of the os correctly (or maybe not) but i didn't update the firmware (an i think it's why my sim card is not detected). Question is : where can i find the firmware update "2022-04-20 | 1.3| 47.2.A.11.228" ? On sony website i only see 2021-12-06 for xz1c.
Am i missing something ?

Updated in dirty way over LOS 18.1 from this forum, everything works including Zygisk and contactless payments
Hello, nice job. What TWRP version is needed ?
Very nice work! Haven't been able to test much yet, but when I picked it up just now after some days, I could see that battery drain does not seem to be an issue:
(This is not real-world usage though: wifi is on, but no SIM card, and just sleeping)
Rom lineage-19.1-20220408-UNOFFICIAL-1.2-lilac
Magisk 24.3
MindTheGapps 12.1.0
twrp 3.6.1_9-0-lilac
Running this on a spare XZ1 for testing. If the camera does eventually work one day, I think ill go to ebay aand buy a new XZ1c.
Thank you for all your hard work.
I'm currently on Havoc-OS 4.16 but can i flash Lineage 19 over Havoc? How to create backup of current Havoc in TWRP if i want to get back from Lineage OS 19? What should i select when creating backup?

Hi! Do you lose the homescreen arrangement (widgets, folders..) when you do this? (Trying to see if there's an advantage to dirty flashing)
Regards!

Hi, check the last pages of the 18.1 thread, there's a link there. Someone got it working, seemingly. Still an early version, slow motion mode at least doesn't work and I'm uncertain on whether there's actually an improvement in quality vs open camera (took 2 pics to compare but didn't see any difference) but, still.. It works!
Hi and thank you (also to Derfy )! Great to see LOS 19 for this thing .
Question: I dirty flashed from latest available LOS 18.1, wiped Dalvik & cache, installed the MindTheGapps package as recommended, but swiping is gone on the AOSP keyboard. I can kill the AOSP keyboard forcibly, and then swiping came back just once but immediately disappeared again. Anyone else seeing this?

Maybe. I didn't use Trebuchet with LOS 18, so I can't say if the icons were in same places.
BTW guys how can I set an accent color in LOS 19?

By changing the wallpaper, it automatically chooses accent colors based on it. It's how "Material You" works.
