strange issue with bluetooth connectivty with headsets - Samsung Galaxy Watch

hi all,
after 3 years of use, I decided to upgrade my GearS2 to the new Galaxy watch. One of main advantages for me was the possibility of running without carrying a phone : I can use samsung health and music locally stored an the watch, together with my Jaybird run headsets.
the problem is I cannot get the voice messages on my headsets if the music is on : i get the notification beeps, every km the music pauses as programmed, but no voice can be heard.
Using watch speaker, app works fine and voice is played over music. Using car BT, it also works fine. Even on my Gear S2, app and BT headsets work fine, voice is correctly mixed over music.
I have re-paired and hard reset headsets and watch few times without success, and all notification and TTS are active. I even contacted jaybird support but they did not want to help (they blamed the app).
any hint about a possible solution ??? the most annoying thing is I cannot understand the problem...
thanks for your help!!

On your watch, go to Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> BT Headset. Click on the settings icon for your headset. Make sure "Use For" for Call Audio and Media Audio is enabled.

Ringtone only in headset, driving me nuts!

in my tp2 i noticed that when i have a wired or bluethooth headset conected and someone calls me it only rings in the headphones! this made me lose several phone calls.
in other devices i had , i used a reg hack for it to ring in the device speaker and headphone,so i tried in my tp2 but it does not work as the reg hack is related to the microsoft bluethooth stack.
therefore i m asking for help and also if other tp2 users can confirm this issue.
my bt heaset is a jabra bt3030.
thanks
I am having the same problem with my TP2, the headset becomes useless for this reason.
I use a Sennheiser MM-200 headset, bought this headset not to have earphones plugged in ears all time but only when i have incoming call.
Not sure what to tell you about the wired headset, but is your BT using the normal headset BT profile or is it connecting also with A2DP/Stero BT? That could be part of the problem.
In the Bluetooth menu it is connected with: "Stereo Audio" and "Hands-free"
you can switch off the stereo audio function and stay with the hans-free function only. it works fine, but you have to do it manually.

I made a soft reset and now the phone rings even with stereo audio enabled - whats good for me, but i do not understand why
Hi Faria,
There is a setting in the BT config to transfer "ALL" system sounds to the connected audio device, this may be your issue. I don't use a wired but my Rhodium rings in the headset and on the device after removing this option.
Cheers,
Beasty
I really hate this feature too. I am used to listening to music on my BT hedset. So when I get home I would just take them off, put the phone on my desk and go about my business. But if I don't disconnect the headset now I won't notice it ringing... which can lose in lost phone calls.
Hopefully someone will find a workaround.
Start>Settings>Connections>Bluetooth
First tab (gears)>Advanced>Audio
"Play system sounds on remote hands-free device" = uncheck
Just tested and works for me.
I get the normal ringtone from the phone and the regular "beep" from the stereo headset.
FYI, this is basically the same information as listed two posts up...
On my old phone if my headset was in and my phone rang it would say call from and state the persons name through my headset. The ringer itself wouldn't play through my headset nor the phone. And now I can't remember but I know it beeps in my ear but I think the phone plays the actual ringer also at the same time. But if I checkmark what you guys are unchecking will the actual ringer play through my plantronics bt headset and not on the phone.. I kind of would like that for if I am out and dont' want my phone to ring all loud I would rather the ringer play in my ear and was wondering if that's what happens when I check that. Mine was unchecked when I got the phone.. I don't havea bt headset I use for music just talking mostly when driving..

Bluetooth media audio not working anymore

I have Nokia bluetooth stereo headset BH-503.
I'm using it fine for calls but lately I cannot seem to get music audio through them. I suspect it may have happened when Tmobile sent the OTA update out (my phone was in the first batch, now on 1.15.110.11). Note - im not sure exactly when this started so may not be the update.....could be a dodgy app?
I was using spotify and the htc music player with the headset fine when I first got the Desire.
Both 'phone' and 'media' settings are ticked in the bluetooth options and obv tried disconnecting then repairing the two but still no joy.
Has anyone else noticed this? any other media bluetooth problems?
I can be listening to Spotify or HTC music player thru the phone loudspeaker and when a call comes thru the phone correctly diverts the call to the bluetooth headset then resumes music to the loud speaker once the call has finished.
It's as if the bluetooth media audio capability has been disabled!? Any help would be appreciated, it's driving my nuts!!
hmm seems to be fixed. I did one thing differently this time.....
Instead of activating bluetooth via the widget or settings>wireless&networks> bluetooth where you can check the bluetooth box to turn it on, i went into:
settings>wireless&networks> bluetooth settings and activated bluetooth from there.
When it connects to device it now says 'connected to phone and media audio' and plays fine now even when switching on via the widget.
V odd. Oh well happy chappy again

2 bluethooth devices

Hi
I would like to know if its possible to have my phone paired to both my car bluetooth system which uses the hands free profile and to a second device which uses a2dp. Can both these be in use at the same time?
Thanks
Huw
Hi as far as im aware the Desire doesnt have multipoint capabilities which enable it to connect to 2 devices at the same time if you want to be able to stream music and take calls while in the car a good device is a venturi mini which does it all take a look on their website www.myventuri.com
Regards
Dave
Thats a shame , my car has an integrated voice controlled satnav/bluetooth so was hoping it would pair with both but then chop the streaming music when a call came in.
Actually it does work.
I've just tried connecting to my Bluetooth speakers and my Bluetooth handsfree set simultaneously. Obviously I had to set the handsfree to "Phone Audio Only" and the speaks to "Media Audio Only", but once I done this I could play music wirelessly to my speakers, and when a call came in the music paused and the headset took over. Once the call had finished, the music restated.

HTC paired with car -> No sound for the GPS!!!

Hi!,
I have a HTC Touch Pro 2 that I usually pair, via bluetooth, with my car. When this connection is made, a message shows up on the HTC’s screen informing that the connection does not assure some sound functions. Nevertheless, all the phone functions work great.
The problem is the gps. I bought a few days ago the gps software NDrive v10, and after a few tests I realised that when the HTC is paired with the car, there is no sound from the NDrive. I open NDrive and I can’t hear a single instruction!
The solution is turning off the bluetooth so I can hear the instructions from the NDrive, but this way I have no handsfree system for the phone…
Is there any way of solving this problem, having the HTC paired with the car, and at the same time, hearing the instructions from the NDrive?
Thanks!
MM
Are you pairing both Hands-free and Stereo BT profiles when you connect to the car? Maybe that program requires the Stereo profile to route sound through your system. Otherwise, only phone functions will be routed. My phone automatically pairs the Hands-free profile when I get in the car, but if I want to stream music from the phone to my car stereo I have to manually start the Stereo BT profile.
when you mentioned the car's BT profile I went and check the car menus, and I found one (that I missed previously) that gives the option of listening to the sounds from the HTC. Whether it is music or gps!
But I still have a small question. When the menu that I mentioned above is select I can only listen to sounds from the HTC. This means that when I'm listening to the gps I can't hear radio or cd player from the car...
Nevertheless, thanks for the help!

On the HTC you can pair the phone and the stereo. If you disable the stereo on the HTC, that may get you what you are after.

Click to collapse
That's because the radio can only have one input active at a time, and when the phone is connec ted via BT in stereo mode, that's all it can handle. It doesn't matter if you're streaming music or GPS directions from the phone.

HELP: Galaxy Watch Active 2, Doesn't Route Calls to Synced Bluetooth Headset

Hello,
Please help me to solve this, otherwise this Watch thing is useless for my needs.
I have Watch Active 2 LTE [dont use LTE, nor have eSim on my current provider, got it since it was almost same price and had more RAM]
The watch synced with BT to ROG Phone 2.
I have Bluetooth headset that synced to Watch 2, i copied my Aduoibooks to the watch and listen to them from the watch, it works but low volume.
In Watch BT settings the Call Audio and Media Audio is ENABLED
BUT the moment I call to someone from my watch or someone calls me, I get Audio trough Watch speaker and watch microphone used as input.
When I open Bluetooth settings [during the call] the Call Audio and Media Audio automatically got disabled, and it stays disabled until i finish the call and press PLAY on the music player.
Maybe this is NORMAL and smart watches dont route call audio to Bluetooth headsets since audio goes from the phone to the watch and from the watch to the headset?
I tested bunch of different headsets, its all the same behavior
Please help, Thanks
Guy's anyone? Is it even possible?
