Blackview 9500 pro need help finding root app??? And need to modify apn Volte/LTE att - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hi of the blackview 9500 Pro it's not a complete idiot and I'm not afraid to get into the kernal. But like many I've gotten spoiled to the one click wave of rooting and hoping to find the same for this one. The main reason why I need to do this as the frequency bands on this phone will match 4G LTE for AT&T and already know it works for volte4g Cricket which is AT&T. But with this phone it will not under AT&T SIM card you like anything but 3-g band but the Cricket SIM card will utilize the 4G volte band I'm hoping to find some tools to modify this so I can have 4G LTE or volte on AT&T SIM card. Thank you looking forward to reply

Are you sure the native ATT Sim doesn't work? I have a Blackview 9500 (not pro) and my ATT sim shows 4G VoLTE. My second sim is Google FI and it shows 4G.

Sim
I cant be 100% as I have had the phone for less than a week. I went through every APN attached set up I could find. And to note it is a brand new sim card from the att store. I was going to try and switch sim2 (working cricket 4g Volte sim) with sim card 1 and see if sim2 is still 4g... I was hoping to avoid that due to in the past I had to call separate support lines to activate the IMIE... then depending on result possibly have to rinse and repeat back to back calling 2 different support lines... Ugh!
Could you many post what ur APN settings are many I missed something... Note*I was looking for root because I read that you can open up controls/ mods you wouldn't have otherwise with APN
Thx

Sprint version: does not disable GSM?

The Sprint version is being advertised as an international phone, and comes with a Sprint SIM card pre-installed, and what appears to be a security strap, making it difficult to remove.
Before traveling internationally, you can call Sprint ahead of time to have them active their SIM card, and for the low low price of $1.99/minute, you can use overseas GSM networks to make phone calls, and in many cases, data access.
Of course I'd like to buy a pay-as-you-go SIM card and install that for much more reasonable rates while overseas, but I'm not sure if it's as simple as plugging in a different SIM card.
I had read that the Rogers version of the phone required...something to active the SIM slot, and even then seemed not to work for data via 3G.
Anybody else have the Sprint version? Played with GSM yet?
I'm a little apprehensive to start tearing into it to remove their SIM card just yet...
The GSM is 2G only, no 3G.
Well my buddy has a AT&T sim card that i put in my TP2 but it did not work. I switch the phone to GSM only but it did not pick up a network. I also put that sprint sim on his phone but it had no network either. According to the manual its lock from going to a gsm network on the USA.

Hopefully a custom ROM can unlock the ability to use GSM networks in the United States!

good to know.
I read in the manual that it was not usable on US GSM networks too, but I assumed that was because they never intended for you to remove the Sprint SIM card, so of course the Sprint SIM card wouldn't work domestically.
So it seems the Sprint phone can be unlocked for GSM just like the Telus phones, but I haven't read of any success getting GSM 3G to work w/ an unlock code.

d'oh, missed this....
What about EDGE?
Check the specs, if it said gsm 850,1900 it should be able to use with in the US. Just have to sim unlock it first in order to use.

EDGE is 2G

Free unlock method.

Edit: this method works for everyone it seems. SOME HAVE REPORTED SLOWER T-MOBILE DATA SPEEDS AFTER APLLYING THIS UNLOCK. This has only been reported a few times and it seems like flukes. I however, nor the OP in the linked thread are responsible for wjat YOU chose to do to your device. You have been warned.

What was the default value of "Perso SHA256 "....I changed mine to off but forgot to check the original value...original value should be in Perso SHA256 Flag info
Seemed to work with verizon sim. No longer get the input sim unlock number, but obviously no signal.

Phone wont even get GSM signal ? I thought this phone does support 1900 Mhz which verizon also uses.

It got a signal. But could not pick up carrier or anything just had signal and said searching in notification bar.
But verizon is CDMA so it did not supprise me.
I see that the LTE radio bands are in there, no surprise there. But I also see WCDMA radio bands too. Does that mean that our Galaxy Note 2 have WCDMA radio too? Or is this just an firmware that Samsung uses across all Galaxy Note 2 devices?
I need to try this I have a at&t sim card.

I think we have CDMA also....not that it does much for us as verizon and sprint require the imei to be loaded into their systems.
WCDMA != CDMA by the way. WCDMA is 3G/4G GSM (aka UMTS)
CDMA is a competitor to GSM. It is used by mainly North American and Japanese/Chinese cell phone companies.
I know Verizon and Sprint in the US and AU in Japan use CDMA. Most of the world uses GSM.
All though thinking about it while we may have the CDMA radio, assuming it is the same chip as the GSM and LTE radio then they may have just not sokdered the connections. Seen that before with FM radios built into the bluetooth chip on the Atrix 4G
Which of the bands are our 4G?
Love learning.

Our 4G is UMTS band 4 (1700/2100) same as our 3G. We dont have LTE yet so no *true* 4G
Sweet.
Thank you.
No problems. This kinda stuff is my hobby. Maybe some day I can get a job at a cell phone company as a technician or something.
I can confirm this works, but I could not get data. I got signal and a carrier name with both an AT&T sim and a Straight Talk (AT&T) sim. It would not load APNs, and I don't have the APN for regular AT&T so I tried with the Straight Talk, put in their APN and still got no data. Neither sim is active currently. It did allow me to call 611 on both sims.

If neither sim is active then I dont think it will allow data. Not sure though.

Thank you for sharing. It works for me. I tried it with my brother att sim. I was able to make and receive phone call with no problem.

[Q] Is there a way to use my unlocked (Tmobile) Note 3 on Verizon Network?

I received the password from T-Mobile and ofcourse entered it after using an AT&T sim, but I have a company iphone 5 (I HATE IPHONES) i'm trying to see if I can just use the sim card into the Note 3 and call it a day. Anyways any help would be appreciated.
Thank You in advance,
Dan
I'm not positive, but if you are able to use it at all, you wont be able to use LTE for sure. The other bands might work fine.
Yes, it can be done, but you will have to give up LTE, that, will not work for you....

sorry, I didn't see this....but you are correct sir.....
Maybe I'm confused. Does the Tmo Note 3 have CDMA radios? I thought not.
Without CDMA and LTE, I'm not sure I see how you'd use a Tmo Note 3 on Verizon.
Yeah, I'm confused also and since when Verizon allows non Verizon phones on it's network and I know Verizon world phones have SIM cards now, but I thought that was just for LTE compatibility and for travel. BTW nobody in US has voice over LTE and I thought LTE was the only mode CDMA and GSM phones actually have in common? I have not used Verizon for at least 3 yrs, but hell things changed a lot if it worked.
I will check on this tonight I have a vzw sim with unlimited still give it a shot

Guys...IIRC you'd need to program a MEID into the NV items that Verizon would accept. Besides, I doubt any T Mobile or ATT phone has CDMA bands. You're not going to just plug a VZW sim in and it works. The SIM is for their 4g LTE and is more of a RUIM than a actual GSM sim. If VZW is anything like sprint, your iccid, meid, and HDR AN (and quite possibly the HA and AAA passwords for certain profiles) need to be correct. Otherwise you're stuck on error 16. That's even IF you can find some way to activate CDMA radios on the device. FWIW, trade your phone for a Verizon one. Done deal, no headache.

The short answer is no. 100% no. Verizon is CDMA and T-Mobile is GSM. Two completely incompatible networks. While Verizon phones also have GSM bands, T-Mobile phones do NOT support CDMA bands. WCDMA vs CDMA are completely different.

I have a T-Mobile galaxy note 3 and my friend had a Sprint galaxy note 3. I took the sim card out of my note 3 and put it in his note 3 and everything started working fine right away. It didn't need an unlock code to use other carries sims, 3g came right on, we made voice calls, and even started using the internet. I took his sim and put it in my note 3 and it needed to an unlock code. So I ended up unlocking my phone and put his sim back in and nothing worked. I showed voice bars but did nothing. Maybe i needed to look up sprint apns or something for it to work. My sim worked fine in his cdma phone. Find a friends phone and try it out first. Hopefully it'll work, i recommend using chainfire's region away app to unlock the phone. It's quick and easy. Plus you can unlock other phones after that with the app.

TOTALLY different than what we're talking about here. The Sprint phone has multiple radio bands (both cdma and gsm) so after a proper unlock (or it may be already unlocked from the factory, not sure) the cdma phone can connect to gsm networks. The T Mobile phone ONLY has gsm bands. Itd be like stuffing a diesel engine into a Miata. It's just not going to work. Yeah you may have been able to insert the Sprint SIM and had signal, an emergency call signal. How would you program the MEID, MDN, MIN, PPP settings and profile settings into the phone should you even be able to connect to sprint towers? You do know there's no update profile or prl option on a t mobile phone too right?
Plain and simple it's not going to work. Some people can't understand that a CDMA SIM card/RUIM isn't like a GSM one...

Dual Verizon MVNO / CDMA sims

Looking for a clarification here before I make the jump to a dual sim phone. Located in the US.
My goal is to combine 2 services into one phone. I have a primary Verizon MVNO service that I use for Calls, MMS and Data. I want to add a second SIM, preferably also a Verizon MVNO, for Calls/Text.
I have seen some comments indicating that you can't use 2 CDMA SIMs at the same time.
If that is the case, the only option for the second SIM would be a GSM service, correct? If that is the only option, can the second SIM can only be used for Calls and Text? How about MMS? I assume NO for MMS on the second SIM.
I was considering this phone because it seems that both SIM slots support CDMA carriers. But, if you can only use one CDMA SIM, and am forced to go with GSM for the second SIM, I will reconsider the cheaper ZTE Axon 7 option.
MMS doesn't work on this phone.
When I spoke with Verizon about this, they stated it was due to the phone being "unknown" on their network, so MMS limitations are enabled as they can't identify the phone. This is because Xiaomi doesn't register devices with all carriers.
Personally, I would keep looking. SMS, calling and Data have been working fine.

Dual sim question any help appreciated

I just grabbed a super cheap op5t n my vzw sim does work but only for calls n txts no data. I do have an h20 sim w 5gb of lte per month on it coming to me in a few days. My question is if i put the vzw sim in slot 2 n set it to the secondary sim card n h20 as primary will i be able to get calls n txts from my vzw sim n use data from the h2o card? I no this should work w 2 gsm carriers but cant find anything on using the dual sim to supplement the poor cdma experience in the us
I guess if no one else knows ill post with my results
