[Q] How to restore backup from encrypted sdcard

Before installing CM 13 my Note 8 N5110 was on CivZ-FlexBurst-KK_BL-Rev1.2-N5110 and PhilzTouch recovery. Tablet and sdcard were encrypted. I made a Nandroid Backup and after that I followed the instruction for installing official CM13 nightly:
1. Download ODIN 3.10.7 on a Windows OS
2. Choose your device package and flash it via ODIN :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=54013
3. Flash TWRP 3.0 recovery from ODIN or older version of TWRP :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=31895
4. Full wipe
5. Install CM-13.0 :
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=42414
** I467M users must flash N5120 ROM **
6. Install OpenGapps :
http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=pico...................................
After the installation I realized that it is to early for daily use and wanted to flash back the backup but got in TWRP a md5 error message (probably because of the encrypted backup) when I try to flash the backup. Of course with the cm13 I cant access the files from the sdcard because they are encrypted.
Is there anyone who can help me to get access to my files on the sdcard and or to get the backup working again?
thanks a lot and have a nice day.

How to root SM-720F?

Please help me to root Samsung A7 2017. I need to root because I'd like to install Xposed. I found a few guides but they were confusing.
It's pretty easy:
On android 6
Install TWRP
Install superuser-r310-beta
That's it
On android 7 (last security patch)
IMPORTANT: If you have rooted previously with Magisk 14.x or Supersu, clean reinstall the ROM again through ODIN (erasing SYSTEM and DATA)
COPY MAGISK 15.1 in the external SD or in a USB
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/beta-magisk-v13-0-0980cb6-t3618589
Install MM Bootloader through ODIN, (Last Nougat has BOOTLOADER Locked, it doesn't work anymore OEM unlock. In the attachment there is one that I use)
Reboot your phone and soon enter again in Download mode
Install TWRP
https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series-2017/development/xcc-t3591448
Reboot in recovery and FORMAT DATA
Install MAGISK 15.1 (1510)
REBOOT
This way works perfectly in NOUGAT last security patch and you won't have the issue about the delay of more than 5 sec when you unlock with PATTERN.

[SOLVED] Can't root A3 2017 Oreo : TWRP installation by Odin fails

Hi,
I've read lots of topics but can't find an answer to this : how to root a Samsung SM-320FL ? I don't intend to flash a custom ROM, but I can do it if this is the only way to get root. I really need to delete (not only disable) all the programs I don't use like Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc. so I get more internal storage space. I have a sd card but I have to move apps manually from internal storage ro sd card after each update. Very boring...
I have samsung usb drivers installed, and tried several differents versions of Odin, but everytime I try to install the custom recovery twrp, Odin gives a "Fail!" message.
Here is what I have on screen when in download mode :
Odin mode
Download speed: fast
Product name: SM-A320FL
Current binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
FRP Lock: Off (I have checked the OEM unlock in settings)
Secure download : Enabled
CCIC: S2MU004
Warranty void: 0 (0x0000)
AP SWREV: B:5 K:3 S:3
After Odin fails, I get the extra (red) line :
Kernel rev. check fail. device:3, binary:1
The firmware informations are :
Oreo 8.0.0
A320FLXXS5CSK1
Kernel: Mon Nov 18 2019
I suppose the firmware version is too recent but can you please confirm ?
Any hope to root ? With or Without (preferably) flashing a new firmware ?
Thanks for any advice.

Hello guys,
I am new to the forum so I hope this is the best way to get the attention of anyone who could help users of the Samsung A3 (2017) running on Oreo 8.0.0
A320FLXXS5CSK1 like me and fabriceeudes.
I am a total newbie, so if anyone could even suggest an exhaustive step by step guide for rooting my phone (still running great but suffering from its limited internal memory capacity) without risking to brick it, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and have a nice day!

Is this the file you are trying to flash via Odin? You are adding the TWRP file to the AP option correct?

1. Download latest Stock base via SamFirm
2. Install latest Stock base via Odin Odin v3.13.1 direct download
3. Boot into system
4. Skip the setup
5. Activate Developer settings
6. search and turn of automatic system update
7. Go to time settings and deactivate automatic time
8. Turn back the day for more than 7 days. ( I have turned to the 20th Dec 2018)
9. Search for Software update -> Don't install update
10. Look if latest time searched for updates is the date which you have set. (for me 20th Dec 2018)
11. Reboot your device
12. go into the time settings and reactivate the automatic time
13. Search again for software update - > Still don't install
14. Go to Developer settings
15. deactivate OEM Unlock and reactivate
16. Go to download mode and you will don't see RMM state anymore
18. install TWRP by odin
19. boot into TWRP
20. format data
21. reboot recovery
22. flash verity.zip // found on https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
23. Et voilà! You got completely functional TWRP on your device with Pie Bootloader
24. Flash your preferred Rom!

Update to Android 13 | S20 Ultra

Hello,
I own a rooted S20 Ultra (G988B) from Germany.
The installed Android version is Android 11 (DUE4) with OneUI 3.1.
I have TWRP installed, version is 3.5.2.
I want to update this to the latest version available in Germany (Android 13, G988BXXUFGVL5).
How do I do this?
Do I need to update TWRP, if so how do I do that?
Is it possible to update without losing data?
Thanks in advance
If U need only to update TWRP there is possibility to dovnload twrp img file (not tar) & install it directly in TWRP - go to install and there on bottom is to choose storage(internal/sdcard) and on right side is switch (zip/image) choose image and the downloaded file.
To upgrade to A13 and TWRP in one step download zipfile (thru frija I recomend) put APxyz.tar.md5 to ap slot, blxyz.tar.md5 to bl slot etc. To CSC slot put HOME_CSCxyz.tar.md5 (too keep data) and I recomed to put twrpxyz.tar to USERDATA slot - & I recomend using twrp patched with vbmeta (to prevent encrypting data partition) - i posted twrp3.7.0 patched here about motnh ago.
